It would work for level 1. I'm now investigating the best way to get bigger to fight the giants...
Druid works and gives some support. But you can only do elementals later. And I can only go to large at lvl 10.

There really is no other way to really do it that I can find and that saddens me.

I don't mean the armor you are wearing before you polymorph. The stuff you are wearing 100% gets absorbed. I meant putting on armor after shifting. Also like dragging a massive weapon around to use after shifting.

I'm still trying to find the best class to pull off what I want.

I like the idea of the new action economy.

Considering your taste in alternate rules would you want to try out the inherent bonus system from unchained?

Sanguine angel (this I would need to speak to you about reflavouring, and would be a better switch hitter than front line tank)
Paladin (I am playing a paladin in a very long standing game and think I might get bored though)

What other abusive AC classes am I missing?

One idea that I keep getting drawn back to is turning into an earth elemental.
I love the idea there, turning into an earth elemental in the mountains, fighting giants... Just seems like fun.
However I would want to do this from first level and the only way I can think of to do that would be an elemental shifter which can never get larger than medium, and a synthesis summoner, which is almost universally banned.

If anyone has other ideas on how to be a martial that turns into an earth elemental I would love to hear it.

I dont really even care for the tremor sense or stuff at the start. I just want to be an elemental :P.
However this does depend on whether our illustrious GM rules Earth Elementals as being able to wield weapons and wear armor. :P

The scene that keeps coming to mind is the rock giant fight in the misty mountains in the fellowship of the ring.
Turning into a large or larger elemental and fighting the giants just strikes me as truly badass.

I am enjoying the vibe of the Kinetecist quite a lot.
There are some great options for incredibly tanky earth kinetecists with some of the archetypes.

I generally seem to play the tanky characters so I would gladly fill that roll.

I on the other hand love the campaign downtime/building system of kingmaker/ultimate campaign, that I convinced Foxy to let us use it in our Shattered Star game.

I agree that the systems here could be better fleshed out. Like the grog ration will literally kill everyone on board at the start. The pc's might be able to make a way around it but the crew actually drink it. They would die. All of them.

There is a "mob" type template in one of the books that is basically a human sized swarm. Split the crew into these mobs and then give a mob to each PC

Gopher quests, so many gopher quests. The module basically forces us to sail back and forth over the shackles. If you don't feel like doing what Mrs Lady Captain whatshername asks you too, the story can't progress at all.

The AP is written with a very very limited set of options as to how you can interact with it. At some cases only providing singular options and at others literally making the story progress a specefic way with literally no input from the players

The biggest issue is my area based blasts only come on later as I picked water/air. Had I gone fire I could have gone for area from level one.
I will go through the list and pull out all my options soon so you can see what I mean

Oh yeah, blasting wizard wins, no question. I am just saying the druid certainly is not bad either, and can do some other fun stuff

They dont blast but they have some pretty awesome damage abilities anyway.

1st: Entangle (it does damage, not many choices here)
2nd: Tar Ball, Stone Call (Low dmg, but no save or SR)
3rd: Call Lightning( low DMG, but consistent)
4th: Ball Lightning, Geyser, OBSIDIAN FLOW
5th: Baleful Polymorph(not blasty, but EXTREMELY USEFUL), Call lightning Storm, Wind Blades, Wall of Thorns(+plant growth for great effect)
6th: Tar Pool
7th: Sunbeam
8th: Finger of Death, Stormbolts, reverse gravity (Falling Damage), Earthquake (see spell for when this will actually do damage)

They are more for control than damage.
Flaming sphere is also pretty good

You will never do the most damage, but you can absolutely control the flow of battle.

For blasting you kinda can't beat sorc/wizard though

I would like to make a suggestion. If you want to continue with Estelle, but feel we could do with a different class, perhaps the raise dead has some unintended side effects, giving you some magical ability/altering the way you see the world and hence your fighting style.

That is a nice fluff reason to play Estelle but get a new class.
I am going to repeat my suggestion of a druid. You can still bash peoples heads in, but get a bunch of other cool stuff for control and magic. We are also very nature themed in terms of the sea so it fits relatively well.

A druid could be seriously fun. You could easily build to be a competent fighter as well as offer significant support and magic
