At Con-Nooga I ran Confimnation 5 times, almost everyone had at least 3 of the 6 players buying clw wands at the end of it. I Like Akerlof said I spend a few minutes making sure the NEW players understand that Clerics will help keep you alive, as long as you are trying to do so as well. Buying your own wand is a good way to show that you want to live. I also explain that the rules do not say that anyone has to heal you, so ask nice. It is all part of the co-operate portion of the 3 rules of PFS.
The rooms at the hotel that are close have 2 double beds or 1 King. When I worked with Gen-con in the part they put us in the rooms with 2 doubles. This will be my first with Paizo, but I have faith that they have enough experience to know that is what is needed.
Mike are you playing in a home game or is it PFS? If it is society, there should be people at the place you play that can answer questions as they come up. It is not hard, just slightly confusing till someone says "this is what they mean by...." If you still have questions, can't the GM of your game answer the questions?
Thanks I will look at that concept...What about a Glaive? It has reach, right? I have a boon that will allow it after I can spend 4pp to get trained in it(comes with a masterwork one). As to the stats. It was for the skills that he will use including profession gambler (I like the full ROLE part of the role play gaming). I can drop it to 14. If i were to do that which way would you go with the point/points? and why?
The question not answered is do you trust him to pre-roll the attack rolls? If so that will cut a lot of your time down. If not have him roll damage dice at same time he rolls attack rolls. That will cut the rolls in half. The other suggestion that I have heard and use for my summoner is having cards of what I plan on summoning ready for the game. If he is not willing to do a little prep, Then he is not ready to play that character.
I have to agree with Kintrik. Since it is a Society game we need to follow the set guidlines estabilshed in the manual. I don't even like hearing myself say it, because I also agree with the idea that it can hurt a party badly if you get super rolls and they get bad ones. That is how life is sometimes though so, always bring a Cleric.

In the Middle Ages, when it was normal to fight with sword and bow, they developed a sword called a Flambarge. It was designed specifically to stop a charging horse and unseat the rider. The rider was normally a knight in full plate. when he hit the ground then all the footmen would run over with Maces and destroy the Knight. The cavalier in our game would flat go crazy if his horse died. He like riding though town on his, lance at the ready. Of course, he has used the lance to take out thugs hiding on single story rooftops. Just a quick thought. Hope it helps.
I was talking to my 11 year old grand daughter about your situation. The first thing she asked is if they blocked the door to the sleeping hall with the dead bodies. Then did they set traps or a watch? She has only been playing for 6 months in a weekly game. I just found it interesting that she agreed with your 1st grader, where the older ones didn't understand it.If they continue then maybe just kill one of them(make sure there is a way to res the fallen and they know about it). You might also suggest to the casters to buy some wands. That way they can save their spells and not need to rest so much. Even non casters can buy healing wands and let a caster use it to heal them during or after battles.
Rerednaw, Beyond trying to get a game going in your area, you might consider one of the online sessions. I am just starting with The Pathfinder system, so I have had many questions. Like you I have gm/dm many different adventures in many different worlds. This system is much simpler than most of the old ones. What part of the country are you in? |
