I'm getting on in years now and I have come to the realization that I have more unplayed Adventure Paths and scenarios than I can probably play in my remaining lifetime. So no need for additional rulebooks either. Keep the card game, the comics, the tales and the legends coming.

I want to say to everyone at Paizo, thank you for all the hours of great gameplay.

Sovereign Court

Financial concerns require me to cancel the following subscriptions:
Cards
Battles

Also my house is full of wonderful tiny figures, no room for more.

Sovereign Court

This shows as pending. It appears that all the products are currently available. So why isn't this shipping, or at least added to my sidecart?

Sovereign Court

I got the emails saying the rewards (Emerald Spire, Flip Mat, Novel) were in my downloads. The product page says they are in my downloads. I usually sort by date added so that I can spot all the recent stuff quickly, but I can't find them in my downloads.
Help!

Sovereign Court

Got it.
Thanks.

Sovereign Court

I put the ksthanks code in (and the order says the code was applied), and $3.06 was subtracted from the total, until I changed the shipping to ship with my next subscription shipment, and the ksthanks discount disappeared, going back to ~$30 from ~$27.

Sovereign Court

The order arrived in good shape but one item was missing from the order:
Goblin Squad T-Shirt (XL) GWK0003-XL
This is a Kickstarter reward item.
This is the 2nd time in the past few shipments that an item has been missing. Hope this isn't a trend.

Thanks

Sovereign Court

As always, you guys are the best!
Thanks for the great service!

Sovereign Court

A large subscription order that came in a very big box. It was like Christmas. However, the box did not contain Pathfinder #1 comic (Paizo.com Exclusive Cover). I searched through everything, but no comic.

Sovereign Court

I would love this as well. maybe if enough interest is shown on this thread...?

Sovereign Court

Count me in as a purchaser for a product like that!

Sovereign Court

I'll add my voice to those below me with an order containing the Second Darkness Dice. It's shown as pending in my account for more than 2 weeks, although everything in the order says ships in 3-6 days.

Sovereign Court

This was sent to my old address. i updated my address on my subscriptions but couldn't find a place to update the address on old orders. Can you recall this and send to my new address?

763 Oak Hill Way
Rio Vista Ca 94571

I still own the old address (until it's sold) but it's 100 miles away and I don't get there often. UPS is liable to just leave it.

Sovereign Court

I should be able to make it.

Sovereign Court

I'm going to retire in January. I guess that says it all.

Sovereign Court

It has always bothered me a bit that it requires intelligence for the athletic fighter to be able to 'know' a lot of physical skills like Ride, Jump, Swim, Climb, Tumble etc.

I thought about maybe tying skill points to the applicable ability bonus, so that, for example, if your strength bonus was two, you get two points to put into Strength-based skills. This probably gives too many skill points and isn't backwards compatible, so I don't have a good solution.

Sovereign Court

I had pneumonia twice. once when I was in college and then a few years later, when, oddly enough, I was living in Seattle. Not something i'd wish on anyone. Get well soon!

I apologize for the mistaken shipment. I will email return instructions and get the correct book shipped out to you as soon as possible.

Thanks,
cos

Great! Thanks. I was worried for a moment that you guys were trying to tell me that you were switching to 4th ed!

Sovereign Court

I received the 4th edition Players Handbook instead of the Leatherbound 3.5 Special edition Players Handbook.

Sovereign Court

Any chance of combining with order #1030138. Only if it saves some shipping.
Thanks!

Just to toss in my 2 cents:

Certain skills should be virtually automatic for some character clasees. How can you be a cleric and not have max ranks in Knowledge: Religion? "Hi, I am the Grand High Priest of the Great Goddess.. (psst..don't tell anyone but I actually haven't a clue as to what all this ceremony and faith and stuff is about)" Similarly, how could a wizard, studying musty tomes in secret libraries not have many ranks of Knowledge: Arcana. How could any character spend the first fifteen - twenty years of their life growing up somewhere not have decent ranks in Knowledge (local) for the place they grew up in? Imagine a Ranger or Druid, living their lives in the wilderness, yet not having any ranks in survival. How did they manage? Merely making something a class skill, or giving extra skill points doesn't fully address the issue.

It seems to me that keeping to the skill system, there should be some changes such that each class gets some skill 'automatically', above and beyond the basic skill points, which goes up one with each level increase.

Home town type knowledge could be simulated by reducing the DC for knowledge checks related to a PC's home, and should be allowed untrained in most circumstances.

Hello:

I downloaded all four scenarios and already ran one for a group.

Where do I report the results for faction, etc.?

Thanks.

I saw a post somewhere from Joshua Frost that said to contact him via email for home and store games played before they implement the reporting feature.

Keep in mind that I'm not talking about somebody who feels comfortable in the "fighter" or "druid" zone, I'm talking about the character that literally insists on making the "elf wizard evoker who's an orphan, and likes hurting puppies, only uses a longbow, and wears black all the time" every single game.

We all hit our comfort zones, I'm talking about the people who quite literally make the same character over and over again. That's what I just can't grasp (even with the explanations here).

It's the John Wayne effect. He always played the same character in every movie. Most people are bit uncomfortable with change, some more than others. The type of person you describe is one of the latter. They stick to what they know best, just like Wayne.

Mmm... Cookies.

I've been arouns a while, just recently started posting. Hope I can keep the cookie. I believe I found this site from Monte's site.

Sovereign Court

I hear ya! I was the same way with my first shipment from Paizo.

I appreciate the thought, but I must admit that CotCT doesn't really entice me that much. Still, if any of you want to take a trip into Fremont for some Pathfinder Society gaming that would be great. If you're interested let me know and I'll shoot you an e-mail to keep you up to date on any plans.
Absolutely. Sounds good to me.

Woot! Might get two tables at this rate.

E-mail re-sent to correct address now.

Okay, I'm going loopy today. Probably because I never send email to myself.

One more time:
dwightd408@sbcglobal.net

That is correct per my mailbox. It's probably my advanced years, losing my mind and all that.

Wiglaf wrote:
That would be great. I'll drop you a line and we can discuss details. In the meantime, if anyone else in the Fremont area, or willing to travel there, would chime in if they are interested that would be wonderful. I know of a few local pizza places and the like if we want to have a meet and greet before settling down to game.

Great! Noticed an error in my previous post. Email should be dwightd408sbcglobal.com.

Sovereign Court

Sorry to take so long to respond to everyone.
DragonBelow, LA is a bit far for me now, Back when i was younger groups of us made the drive, but I think those days are past. Thanks for the offer though. With enough lead time, might fly down for a convention, though.
Mandraiv, Santa Rosa is a bit far for a regular game, but might be okay for a convention or long weekend once /twice a year.
JSL, I've been haunting the Game kastle website to see if they had a game posting, but no luck. It's not far from me and I should go there and see what's happening.
Wiglaf, Since I live in far north San Jose, Fremont is near enough. I get my car serviced there. I can bring one (me) and maybe one or two more( don't count on them though). If we get enough for a table, maybe we can rotate the DMing so that you don't have to eat all the modules. Send me an email at dwightd@sbcglobal.com.

Sovereign Court

And if so does anyone around remember me (Dwight Davis, played Derek Slowhand, the Bard)from 2nd edition living City?

Sovereign Court

Go ahead, rub it in. Mine's still pending.

Sovereign Court

Count me in for Ptolus products.

So, a hundred of us show up bright and early to play our first PFS Organize Play session at GenCon. How are players distributed? Is it random, giving us the hilarious opportunity for a party of four sub-optimized but flavorful clerics, or better yet, four 1st level wizards , or is it like, "All the clerics stand over there, all the fighters over there" and then the DMs pick up like we're playing Sandlot baseball?

I'm curious, because I want four sub-optimized but flavorful clerics.

From my experience with RPGA Living City, usually the Marshalls first let you self select into groups (That's what you're supposed to do while waiting for the Marshall to show up). Any leftovers are grouped together randomly.

Sovereign Court

These are all good ideas. As someone who relies mostly on published material as opposed to home-brew. I'd also like to see Maps and tiles the relate to specific adventure sites in Golarion.

I don't think fantasy is dying, but I do feel that tabletop RPGs are on the way out. Most of us learned to play when they were hot, in the early 80's. Now we're in our mid to late 30's and can't seem to grasp why it's so hard to find players.

In Victorian times, you'd visit friends and everyone would sit silently and sip sherry while the oldest daughter played the piano. That sort of entertainment has, thankfully, been replaced by the TV and DVD (I've had to sit through amateur piano playing before and the thought of doing it for hours is NOT relaxing). Tabletop RPGs are, unfortunately, going the same way.

It's not just RPGs. This pretty much applies to anything that is not computer related. Bridge, always considered more of a game for seniors, is fading. Even fishing and hunting. It's very difficult to pry a kid away from their gameboy or cell phone to do something social face to face. They have become used to interacting with friends indirectly. Thay have friends that live on another continent.

Tabletop RPGs will pretty much die out in about 30 years when the 30 somethings who started playing in the 80s begin to die off. Meanwhile Virtual tabletop replacements might flourish and take over the industry.

Sovereign Court

I was active in the RPGA Living City in Second Edition, but got out of the scene when 3rd edition appeared. Recently playing NWN and NWN 2 got me interested in getting back to my tabletop roots.
Somwhere, I no longer remember where anymore (probably Monte Cook's website), I encountered Ptolus, and saw that Paizo had supporting products, so i visited the website, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Purchased two (2) copies of the Pathfinder beta.

They said its going to be a short print run and I don't want to be left without enough books at the table once the new game starts.

Just preordered one myself. I seem to be addicted to Paizo products. Now if only I can convince my friends to find time to play...

Sovereign Court

Apparently there was a glitch and my CC charge was not authorized on this order (but was on #979259 later that day). I requested that it be resubmitted, and I was wondering about the status as all orders still show pending?
