Huh. I may have to get a retraining Boon to retrain my Starstone Hopeful, Teki Stronggut, to the Exemplar class.

The goblin goddess of Unlikely and Forgotten Heroes adds you to her list of heroes to venerate.

Pro Tip: If you *really* want to be good at something, take the Lore with Additional Lore so that it can auto-scale for Expert, Master and Legendary.

My Bard is a Master Tour Guide for Absalom -- I have only gotten to use Absalom Lore a few times though. Regional lores do not come up that often.

Also, please tell me that our final fight this season ends with dance off or rap battle! I'm so down for this!

I keep hoping that we will see the rise of Teki Stronggut (current Starstone candidate) or some other good-aligned goblin god. Teki's the proposed goddess of unlikely and forgotten heroes, which could be a really fun niche for lore.

(Note, I wrote Teki for the Starstone Hopefuls article that appeared in Agents of Edgewatch, so I'm biased here. But I still want to see a good-aligned goblin god become canon.)

"My first job in Absalom was as a temple cleaner in the Shrine of the Failed. I still work there. It's not a bad job, as jobs go. They gave me a dry place to sleep, and I get to eat all the half-rotten food offerings people left at the various little shrines. But no one really talked to me. The people who served there were all silent, tormented types who... just sort of kept the place halfway maintained, you know?" Teki leans forward towards Nosaj. "So I got used to it just being gloomy and silent."

"Then one day -- boom! There was this huge tour group going through, and they were all dressed like a bunch of toffs, and they were carrying wine glasses and picnic stuff, and they were so busy laughing, I thought, 'Score! Fresh food, and they'll never hear me comin.'" Teki imitates the noisy aristocrats, swishing her black robes like it were a ball gown, and carrying imaginary wine glasses. "There was this Professor Panizir with them, and he was lecturing on the Starstone and the ancient Azlantis, and telling all these crazy stories about them. He had this really insane theory, too. He said that what all the Ascended Gods shared was an Azlanti bloodline."

Teki snorts and holds up four fingers. "So this big-headed bigot lists Aroden, who we all kinda know was Azlanti, and then Iomedae, who was a Chelaxian knight, and might have been part Azlanti. Then he claimed that Cayden was Azlanti because of his dark hair, and declared that Norgorber was Azlanti too..." Teki raises an eyebrow. "So. I thought to myself that all anyone knows about Norgorber is that he's a sneaky jerk, and no one has seen him. That sounded more goblin than anything else! What did that Professor really know about Norgorber? Was he just making this stuff up?"

Teki pauses. "I was gonna steal their picnic, but I was so fascinated by Panazir's theories and his Azlanti History lecture that I just kept listening to it. But he kept making me madder and madder, so I decided right then and there that I was going to prove him wrong. Because I was going to ascend, and show that a non-human could totally do it. And I decided that I needed to do my own research, so I joined the Pathfinders so that I could study Absalom's history and maybe learn something about the Azlantis myself."

Teki holds her hands wide. "There you have it. My origin story, and why I keep studying Azlanti stuff. And I'm older than I look -- I'm about eight now. Most people are like that doodoo head, Professor Panizir. They only look at the four who succeeded, and they think that is what is important about the Starstone, but I think they're wrong." Teki takes Nosaj's hand. "Milani's an okay god. She remembers the oppressed. But I... I want to do what no god has ever done before. I want to champion the forgotten and the unlikely." She grins. "And you know what? I am already doing it. I remember them, and I tell their stories."

Oh yeah.... Teki needs to do her day job at the Shrine of the Failed, telling gruesome stories to tourists about those who died taking the test of the Starstone.

Lore (Absalom) E: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Teki happily eats the sea snake, watches the automatic fishing rod in action, and then shakes hands with her colleagues and Muesello. "My blessings upon you," the goblin goddess says, seriously. "I hope that we can be on other missions together before I ascend."

This has been fun, and I think you did a pretty good job dealing our silliness.

Teki pouts a moment. "Shhh.... Don't ruin the fantasy!"

Teki stares at the blueprints for a moment, holding the paper at different angles to try and make sense of it. "I'd rather face the Starstone..." she mutters. Still, she does make a go of understanding, even willingly taking notes as the Professor expounds upon the inner workings and what they might mean.

"Aeon stones, wayfinders, the Starstone... All transformative examples of Azlanti craftsmanship." The goblin glances up at the Professor. "Did you know that there was a legend that Aeon Stones were among the tools that otherworldly entities -- gods, powerful aliens, and perhaps the angels -- used to construct the universe? They say that wayfinders point the way because they can tap into the universal forces that still resonate from that act of creation, and that the Starstone itself is one big aeon stone with a single purpose -- to find the next generation of those fated to remake the Universe? Or just blow them up indiscriminately and destroy their souls to power its own ghoulish agenda! You never can tell with the Starstone."

Teki shrugs, but remains cheerful. "We still have no idea why the Starstone chose the four people that it did. While Aroden was a good start, its other choices have been interesting so far: a righteous warrior, a thief and a spy, and a drunken adventurer!" Teki hands the plans back to the Professor with a bow. "If you ever made a go of it, just think of the understanding you could bring to the task!"

Every ten minutes, the goblin goddess helps heal the injured, and makes certain to take plenty of notes as her fellow adventurers explore the complex. Before she leaves, she pats her wayfinder a couple of times while commenting, "You know, there have been no previous Pathfinder Agents who've tried the Starstone. I wonder what will happen when I bring a wayfinder along on my journey?"

Teki shrugs. "I already offered it a chance to stand down. But the Azlanti who made it probably did not want it coming up with its own missions, or making friends."

"I am tired of you, but I'd really like your zappy whip," Teki says to the Prefect. "Is it a part of you, or something that we can loot from the heap of scrap that will be left of you when we are done?" She shoots a full round Magic Missile at the Prefect.

"You can talk? Do you realize that you have missed the opportunity to have an epic rap battle with a future deity?" Teki shakes her head at the Prefect's missed opportunities. "Your masters, whomever they are, are long gone. Sure you don't want to join the Pathfinder Society instead? We love relics, and are tons less uptight than the Azlanti."

Meanwhile, she looks to Nosaj. "I may not be the Goddess you worship, but I'm the one you got!" She calls on her divine power to heal her friend. "If I ever get to have Champions, I hope I get one like you. Only maybe more gobliny."

She heals Nosaj for 27 points.

Teki is rather serene about people praying to other gods... after all, she's not in official standing yet to offer divine perks to her worshippers.

If Nosaj's header is correct and he's used both of his Hero Points so far, Teki offers her campaign coin Hero Point towards Nosaj's Fortitude Save, should Nosaj need to reroll.

"You know, maybe that thing sickened me after all," says Teki, making faux retching noises that sound a bit like a cat hacking up a hair ball.

"Ack, ack....BLEEEEUUCCCCCHHH!"

Out from her mouth spews tiny vermin with tiny screwdrivers and drills to attack the nasty boxy things and their even nastier guy with a whip.

Teki grins at the bitey thing. "Ha! You tried to poison an Irongut goblin! I've ingested things more disgusting than you when cleaning the Shrine of the Failed!"

Teki also approaches the door, checking it for traps. "If everyone's ready, I'll open it on the count of 3. One, two..."

Teki uses her darkvision to scout ahead for trouble.

Seeing everyone else draw weapons, Teki does too. "I wonder if this is why Pathfinders get into so many fights?"

I wrote this a while ago, back in our more innocent days when Paizo's playtest of Pathfinder 2 meant the forums were full of rage about goblins being a player race. I thought I'd repost it, because it reminds me that we can still sometimes find humor in amongst forum disputes.

Me too! I am also hoping that people remember that they have HERO POINTS. I also hope the GM enjoyed my super dumb Azlanti Lore rhyme.

Teki looks concerned as sparks fly on the West Actuator.

"Are you sure its the red one over the blue one and cut the green one? I remember following around a crazy Professor through the Shrine of the Failed that had a lot of theories about Azlantis that he was spouting off to his tour group, and he said that they liked Green. He even had a little rhyme for it."

Teki closes her eyes and tries to remember the Azlanti Lore:

The Azlanti Empire has many colors, it's true
But they profoundly distrusted those dressed in BLUE,
And they exiled every foppish fellow
Who dared to parade in the dreaded YELLOW
And should a rogue dare dress in RED
Why! The Emperor himself will chop off his head!
So when Azlanti Courtiers prance and preen,
They all giddily galavant in GREEN!

She grabs the wires and shows what she thinks the configuration should be.

"Cross Blue under Yellow, cut Red and bring Green to the top."

"Er... Voice? Could you repeat that?" Teki asks in common, and then in goblin. "I don't think we understood that."

Glancing at the hatch, she says, "1E, 1D, 1C?" She looks. "Is there a way to enter letters or numbers on the hatch? Or do you think this is a hint that we need to utter a magic word?"

She intones in a serious voice, "EDC! DEC! CED! DCE!" Each time she pauses to see if the hatch reacts.

Never saw that slide, sorry. It is filled out now. I also have all skills in my botting spoiler.

I far prefer block initiative and no need to repost.

Teki pulls out her Wayfinder and stares. "That is so neat!"

Is there a knowledge check Teki can do to know more? Bardic Knowledge +8, perhaps?

Most players probably do not have Oladon's forum tools installed. I do not. That blue color just shows up as coding for me. I see text in two colors: black and ooc text. Could you please just bold the dialogue to make it easier to read?

When Kavin asks Teki if she knows the risks, she grins. "Life is risk! Adventuring is risk! All mortals die. Now it is true that if you take the test, you are likely to die in an especially memorable way. The Goddess of Explosive Alchemy tried to cross the chasm by shooting herself out of a cannon, and arrived on the other side in many small pieces... But at least she died trying to do something extraordinary. We goblins are a people in transition, still learning our places in modern society. A decade ago, most people saw us as vermin to be exterminated. We have goblin gods, but they are relics from the time we were monsters. My people deserve better."

She pauses. "I have studied the lives and hopes of the Failed, and learned each of their gruesome deaths. But I can tell you that there was no one in that list quite like me. Maybe I am Unlikely as a god," and then she nods to the Professor, "or even a tad short -- which seems an odd viewpoint for a gnome. Have you not heard of Chaldira, or Brigh, or even Navi Rhomdazzle? The divine spark is not limited by anything so mundane as size!"

She gestures to Nosaj. "Our noble knight is from a country that was overrun, but he still proclaims who he is proudly. He is not letting his people be forgotten. I honor that, and hope to hear more of his stories." Teki closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. "Sometimes, you need to believe in YOURSELF because no one else will."

Both Kavin and I are in Minnesota, on Central Time.

It looks like Rainrax also has 2 Glyphs, which means that we can make this easy and have everyone start with 2 Hero Points.

A small toothy goblin with a happy smile arrives, looking around the deck. She's wearing the somber black robes of the Shrine of the Failed, but she's pulled her hood down and then closes her eyes and turns her face to the sun. It feels nice. Even without the sunlight, there is a glow about her.

Around her neck, she's wearing the Sun Wheel she was gifted on a mission long ago. She pulls it out and holds the coppery medallion so that it glints in the sun. "Okay, Sarenrae. You know I don't worship you, right? It's not fitting for one goddess to worship another. But I want you to know that I really like this gift you sent me, and I want to thank you for all the good goblins that you take care of while you are waiting for my ascension. It's hard being alone in this god business, and it's nice to have a friend supporting you. Besides, you like fire, and I like fire, so we'll always have something in common."

She flashes the Sun Wheel at Sarenrae like someone giving a high five to an old friend, and then turns to see who is already here. She smiles at the gnome and the iruxi, and gives a little bow. "Hello mortals. I'm Teki Stronggut, the Goddess of Forgotten and Unlikely Heroes. At least, that is my title, Starstone Ascension pending." She smiles out at the water. "Goblins need a good god, and I figure that my chances are as good as anyone else's. Would you like to tell me your stories? I want to collect as many as possible, so that I can make sure that unlikely heroes such as ourselves are not forgotten."

And of course the moment I say that, I switch to a non-green avatar because I am having trouble finding friendly-looking goblin avatars.

I have no idea what color we did. I've only played this once, and it was a long time ago. So green is fine with me. Very gobliny.

We should figure out how many GM glyphs are in this group. I am bringing two, which I will offer to two of the Level 3 PCs.

I have to finish leveling Teki still.

Teki is a level four goblin bard Goddess who probably should do this one, just to even out her XP. Also, I have not played her in a while, and I really need to play once every few levels of GM credit just to prevent myself from losing touch with the character.

"Will you have room for the Goblin Goddess of Forgotten and Unlikely Heroes?" Then she pauses. "Er... Future goddess. Starstone Ascension pending..."

And since that is three people already, perhaps we should move this one to Recruitment?
