Now that there was only one creature left, Tatsuo switched tactics slightly. Since he still couldn't get close to check on the fallen travel companion, a different spell was in order. He rubbed his hands together, building up static electricity before clapping his hands towards the creature, sending a bolt of electricity its way.

Still having nothing better to help aid his companions, Tatsuo continued on his same course of action, hoping that the others would come to their senses before they spilt too much innocent blood.

Tatsuo weighed his options carefully. There was nothing he could do to help ward his allies. Moving closer would only ensure he fell under the creatures' madness as well, so trying to knock those less capable of taking a blow unconscious was out of the question. That left him with his wand of acid arrow, which would guarantee damage on a single target but only a pittance. Or continue his use of electricity damage, which would do far more but might fail.

He sighed. None of his options were really all that good. But electricity was still his best bet. He then moved back slightly in case the creatures decided to move forward.

Their auras are only 30ft and it looks like I'm still at least 40ft away, so I'm assuming I don't have to make the saves. If I'm mistaken, let me know, and I'll make them.

Tatsuo claps his hands together, the sound echoing through the tunnel. He begins rubbing his hands together as a slow crackling sound of electricity begins to build up before hurling it at the creatures.

"Well, at least they speak Common." Tatsuo muttered softly before speaking up again. "And what exactly is the going rate for safe passage around these parts?"

Tatsuo moved next to Memnosyne and likewise called out to the boggards. "We are quite well-armed with both blade and sorcery." To illustrate his point, he sent three glowing white orbs to circle about the swimming creatures, illuminating them quite well. Dancing lights "While we have no desire to fight, I am afraid if you force our hand, you will lose. But we have no desire to shed your blood; we merely wish to pass through in peace."

Tatsuo kept his voice low, "While they are most likely hostile, perhaps we should give them an opportunity to turn back rather than face our wrath. I can cast a spell to understand them, if they do indeed speak, but unless they understand Common, I am afraid I likely have no way to make them understand us." He then quickly made sure any other guards on deck were aware of the approaching group.

Back from the con and hopefully caught up on sleep! Tatsuo probably would have assumed some kind of watch rotation, so he may or may not be on deck. If it would have been helpful, he has both Light and 3 castings of Dancing Lights, though his concern would have been drawing unwanted attention to them with the extra light.

Tatsuo spends much of the journey meditating, drawing, and practicing the art of making tattoos. Every once in a while he can be seen talking to small, black, dragon-looking creature.

My main concern with that is the extra bookkeeping you have to do to keep track of what you bought with your own money vs what was loot. If it's a suitably unique item, you'll probably remember, but if it's just, say, a +1 weapon, you're going to have to find a way to remember it was loot/that you should split the gold if you sell it.

Sounds like no one wants the +1 keen guisarme, so I guess we're selling that as well, but keeping everything else. The one other question is are we splitting the gold evenly or are we doing something where the people who took items get less of the cash to keep the overall value of loot per player about even (typically I've seen groups say items count as their sell value worth of gold for purposes of divvying things up)?

Tatsuo is a little disturbed by the decor of the room but contents himself to simply standing and suspiciously watching the snake mosaic. "You would think that an incubus would know that slaying a demon would result in the body disappearing, leaving no head for us to bring back. What do you suppose his game was by allowing us to leave but threatening to attack us if we failed in his quest?"

@Calvon: It's +4 to initiative, not to Intelligence.

And unless the shard is going to level up that Cha bonus as we progress (or there's some other way of upgrading it), it seems like I might be better off just keeping the headband. Otherwise, I'm just going to end up swapping it out for when I have enough money for a +4 headband of Charisma.

When he saw Oster in position, he timed an arc of electricity to hit the woman simultaneously to his attack.

Does anybody remember anything about the dog-like sinspawn? Namely if they do energy damage at all? I'm guessing they didn't when we last faced them, so Resist Energy wouldn't be that useful. That means the only buff spell I'd want to cast before heading in would be Shield on myself.

To be clear, Tatsuo is bothered by this. I'm perfectly fine with it. Where's Tatsuo's from, touching a dead body like this would be considered extremely unclean.

Tatsuo winces, both at Oster's actions and at the second triggering of the trap. Hopefully if he were not as lucky this time around, Memnosyne would be able to heal him. Assuming she were willing to; she seemed about as bothered by this whole affair as he was.

Ok, I'm back. And it looks like we got some loot that I think only me and Calvin can use? I would suggest giving me the wand of acid arrow, Calvin the wand of lightning bolt (since I don't think any of my special electric abilities work on it anyway), and then either of us can take the wand of fly.
