”We have them on their heel we might as well keep pressing our advantage. Let’s deal with this priestess,” the rogue offered.
The rogue fires another shot into the chaotic scene.

Tallen raised his bow a snapped a shot off at one of the cultists.

Tallen watches the events unfold from the back of the group.
”Worth a try,” the lad agreed.

That’s because he hasn’t burped on her yet. If he had… the horror. ;)
Tallen retrieves his errant knife from the doorframe and joins in, ”Good idea, we won’t have to worry about this one stabbing us in the back”

”Get ‘em,” Tallen encourages from a safe distance.

As his companions confronted the Lady in red, and locked the front door, Tallen remained silent and took a position in a showed corner, watching.
”What about the wine”, Tallen asked as he took another gulp.
”Not I,” Tallen responds as he motions to the barkeep for some wine.
Tallen nods his head in agreement.
I’m not sure if this will hold up in a court of law, the rogue thought but quickly dismissed. ”I’m right behind you Gothia. Come on Barrelhouse you still might get to slap someone around.”
”Krishka’s comments are more along the line of what I was thinking,” Tallen confirmed. ”But I like the way you think good dwarf. Either way there will be opportunities to slap the innkeeper around if these elves are being forthright with their information.”
”What?” Tallen exclaimed genuinely surprised at Vesica’s revelation. He considered fro a moment and suggested, ”It’s only a trap if you are caught unawares. Perhaps we can ferret out these cultists if we stay at Bertam’s inn.”
Tallen still thinks they could have gotten a better deal but reluctantly agrees, ”Well it’s better than a kick in the pants.” Once the companions agree to the offer he asks, ”There’s some daylight left do we want to get a jump and scout out the situation or start fresh on the morrow?”
”Yep, we sure gave it to those Cracked Bone goblins,” Tallen adds.

The rogue glances sideways at the paladin and bard, I think we could have gotten more coin. He looks towards the heavens and lets out an audible sigh but otherwise holds his tongue.
EltonJ wrote: "Now I'm sure we could get to the bottom of the abductions," he briskly said. ”Yes, yes, yes, I’m sure we can but first let’s talk renumeration. How much do you offer for us to take care of this problem?”
Tallen looks at his flaccid coin purse and then at the paladin then back at his purse, there will be time later to indulge in the paladin’s generosity. Shaking his head is disbelief, ”Well… umm… sure let’s go see the mayor.”
EltonJ wrote: Well, as an alternative to the Slave Lords cycle, we can do -- THE TEMPLE OF ELEMENTAL EVIL! Hell to the YES!,
For once Tallen agrees with the paladin, ”Yes, the more prisoners we bring the mayor the greater the reward might be.” Looking to the dwarf, ”Plus one captive may lie and we would have no other story to compare it too.” Looking at the trogs with the bashed in heads, ”Just remember that next time… it might be too late to garner information from those two.”
He lets the paladin bind the creatures and stays alert for more trogs.

Cool, both my boys used to game with my irl group. My youngest started out by playing my animal companions (he was 8 about animal intelligence). Fun times, unfortunately they moved on to other interests. Enjoy the experience!

Any chance you have a copy of the picture of our matching dice bags that we took GenCon? I lost all my GenCon photos with a hard drive failure.
If you all ever make it to GenCon again send me a PM I live right outside of Indy and work right next to the convention center.

Token Stamp
Literally, just drag a Trog jpg over the token and then download it. That's it. You can adjust the color of the border if you want with the Border Tint, and about a hundred other things if you want.
Thanks GM West! I took a look at your profile, we both started gaming in 1982 and it looks like we traveled down some of the same rpg paths. Thanks again!

Tallen tried to hold eye contact with Brenfine but sheepishly bowed his head and whines, ”What, I do.” Making his way out the door he draws his bow and shakes his head at the paladin’s lack of subtlety, she’s going to get us killed.

Tallen barely made it to the door, on the heels of the paladin, when the bard burst in with her warning. We haven’t even negotiated a price yet, he complained to himself.
He shrugged his shoulders and suggested,”We can probably wait here until they pass.
Might help us negotiate a better price if the town suffered another raid, the lad thought callously.

I’m partially to blame I just didn’t want to spend a week irl to decide if we were going to the temple or the inn. I am willing to slow down if needed.
Can’t a fellow relax for a moment, the rogue lamented.
He hesitated a moment before he lifted his mug and finished his beer in one large gulp. With nod to the barkeep, ”Master Bertram that was the finest beer I’ve had in quite some time. I look forward to sampling more of your fine beers…. Hopefully soon.” Not trusting Gothia to negotiate a good deal he quickly turns to follow the paladin wincing as he walks,”Wait up.”

I was hoping to rest my feet a while longer. No chance of that now that Gothia is riled up, Tallen thought and let out an audible sigh. He looks puzzled glancing back and forth between the barkeep and the paladin, ”Try go whats? What are you going on about? I understand the cultist part but who or what are the try go things that have you so excited?”
”You should stop eating so fast,” the young man thought, but wisely held his tongue, while he gave annoyed shake of his head. Looking back to Bertram, ”Don’t be paying her no never mind. She’s fine….. now where can we find the mayor?”

Sensing the opportunity to make some coin Tallen asks between sips, ”Goodman Bertram is there a bounty or reward for dealing with these cultists and critters and such?”
Tallen places five coppers on the bar top then lifts his mug to his lips. He gulped down a few swallows of the dark brew while he watches the barkeep and his response to Brenfine’s questions.

Good, Tallen concluded giving a slight nod of acceptance. The young man bellied up to the bar, waved for assistance, while asking with a lopsided grin, ”Some beer here… something dark… to match the somber mood of the place.”
”Aye, and closer too,” Tallen readily agreed. With rest so close he made his way toward the Golden Grain Inn, opened the door, and entered. He paused a moment in the doorway, giving eyes a moment to adjust, while he examined the scene before him.
”I don’t care which gods they worship here as long as they have a poultice for my aching feet,” the young rogue muttered under his breath. However, he is swayed by Brenfine’s and the dwarf’s pragmatism conceding, ”Fine, first the inn. Hopefully, a soft bed and a drink or two will help me to forget my aching feet.”
With nary a glance behind Tallen limps his way towards the buildings looking for a sign that would denote an inn.
