The castle atop Hellknight Hill, Citadel Altaerein, has stood abandoned for years in eastern Isger—a legacy left behind by the Hellknight Order of the Nail that’s largely ignored these days by the populace of the nearby town of Breachill. But when strange signal fires begin to burn atop the citadel’s battlements, a local goblin and friend of Breachill’s citizens begins to worry, for her tribe, the Bumblebrashers, live within the castle. She fears the fires are distress signals, and hopes to attend Breachill’s monthly Call for Heroes to ask for help from a band of local adventurers. As fate would have it, this call for aid comes to your group of heroes, and as a mysterious doom draws near, who could have predicted that such an act of local heroism would eventually lead to the unmasking of one of the most insidious and dangerous conspiracies of the Age of Lost Omens?

Welcome to the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Adventure Path Age of Ashes. Looking for a group of 4-5 players, and will have applications open until 11:59pm GMT on 20th February 2020. See the recruitment forum for more details.

Welcome to the Age of Ashes Adventure Path Discussion forum.

Notes on Character Creation:

Recommend Alignments: Any non-evil alignment works best, however don't feel restricted by that, as long as your not the type to raze every village you come across.

Ancestry: The core ancestries will have a better chance in having a significant role as one of the major races within the adventure path. You can choose others, but goblins, elves, halflings, dwarves, gnomes and humans will have more personal gain to be made for their people.

Class: Any class

Languages: Common is definitely spoken by most people in the adventure path, but those that speak Dwarven, Elven, Gnomish, Goblin, Halfling, and Draconic will cover most of the interactions, but other languages will also get some time in the spotlight that might be useful.

Religion: Worship of draconic deities might be an issue - PM me if your thinking about this.

Backgrounds: Any Campaign background found in the players guide for the adventure path are permitted. For sake of ease, the ones that the adventure path will give opportunities for from the core rulebook are Acolyte, Artisan, Bounty Hunter, Detective, Emissary, Entertainer, Galdiator, Guard, Hunter, Laborer, Martial Disciple, Merchant, Nomad, Scholar, Scout, Tinker, or Warrior.

If you have any further questions then feel free to drop them here during character creation days :)

Hey and welcome to the campaign :)

I've posted up the first gameplay thread, as mentioned - here is an opportunity to introduce your characters a little bit before things kick off.

Any questions you have, feel free to ask them here if their rules related :)

Part 1: Incident at Absalom Station

You are all currently on board the passenger shuttle Okimoro, bound for Absalom Station. Some of you may have been returning from visiting family, or a contract that was given by one of the businesses on the station, and some of you are arriving for the first time. You have all been told to meet with a Duravor Kreel, a dwarven member of the Starfinder society, on Absalom station.

The shuttle itself is comfortable, for a shuttle. You can still see out of the front viewscreen and the pilot and very small crew of the shuttle, and you see one of the crew open a communication channel with the station. "This is Reed of the Shuttle Okimoro, requesting permission to dock at Absalom station."

A few moments pass before a voice comes through "Okimoro this is Absalom Station control, you're clear for docking at bay 94."

Over the journey, you have all discovered you are here to see the same person and have an opportunity to get to know each other a little more before the shuttle docks.

Absalom Station. Gigantic, replacement, home for the humans. In place of the Sun's now-vanished third planet, Golarion.

The administrative and cultural centre of the Pact Worlds, and the primary home of humanity.

You have made contact with Duravor Kreel to meet with him in Docking Bay 94 of the station. You have decided to become a Starfinder, you might be a new member of the group, or even a prospective applicant, and have come to Absalom Station to search for some work for the society.

Kreel has promised to show you around the station, help you get settled and facilitate your membership into the society once you arrive.

(Howdi people, been wanting to run Starfinder for a while and thought PbP would be the best way to get into it as a GM. I've run D&D, Star Trek, played Vampire, and am currently running a PbP here for Pathfinder as well - but I like space stuff, so don't mind running this as well.

Some general stuff to bear in mind:
1. We will be using the optional rolling method for ability score generation.
2. Applications will be open until 4 pm BST 27th May 2019, and those selected will be contacted by 7 pm BST on the 27th May 2019.
3. Please include the following information in your application for the game:
Character Name:
Character Race:
Character Class:
Roleplaying Experience:
Brief Backstory of the character:

OOC Discussion threat for GM Simmyish's RotRL campaign.

Welcome to Varisia. Scarred by the depravity of ancient wizards and reclaimed by a wilderness of beasts and savages, only in the past few hundred years have the steps of civilized men again trod the wondrous and mysterious lands of Varisia.

Within the region, we begin this adventure in the coastal town of Sandpoint. The town has faced few trials and dangers over the course of its forty-two-year history, but unfortunately, that is all about to change.

Welcome to Play by post Pathfinder - for those interested - feel free to roll up a character and provide some background here, will let you all know when we're ready to go :)

As for me as a GM - I got into Roleplaying games over ten years ago using play by post style similar to this, so in a way, it is where it all started for me. I've played multiple systems (including others designed originally for tabletop play) in this format, so if you have any questions, I'm open to answering them. I have also of course played both pathfinder and starfinder at an actual tabletop, and know the differences in tabletop play, and PbP.

Of course, everyone is in different time zones when playing PbP, so for that reason, there is a posting limit of once per week, to help keep the flow going, and you can expect to get back within 3 days maximum (though usually quicker if it's something that doesn't move things terribly forward). With that in mind, those interested, please show interest below along with your character.

Been trying for 40 minutes to create the recruitment thread through the campaign page, but it doesn't wanna work, so - feel free to message me directly with the info
