Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

I'd like to use Shutakasuma again, if that's okay.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

I wouldn't mind carrying on either.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

It was a good bit of fun!

Thanks for that, Amsheagar.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will fire a crossbow bolt at the apeman closest to him
light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d6 ⇒ 6

Can't seem to hit anything! Is that ape that took a swipe at me on the ground? I did climb up this tree; mostly to avoid direct melee.

@ Shutakasuma, You're shadow puppets need a light source. They don't have one right now.

Sorry, my bad! I thought you meant there was a 50-50 chance of them working in the dark. That did seem odd. Okay, I'll redo that.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will try to create a shadow puppet of an eagle. Because of the darkness, high works, low bombs.
darkness attempt: 1d100 ⇒ 85
Huzzah!

The Shadow Eagle will attack the apeman between Cade and Eryndir:
talon 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d4 ⇒ 2
talon 2: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d4 ⇒ 3
bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d4 ⇒ 1
I added +2 to hit for flanking, you can adjust that if I got it wrong

@Amsheagar: I'm not sure how how you want to handle the apemen disbelieving the shadow puppets attacking them. But if they do disbelieve the attacking shadow eagle each attack does one HP (which is still better than nothing, of course)

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Oops! Sorry, I'll roll for a day job thing:
perform (oratory): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Woo-hoo! A few extra shekels!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Character Name: Shutakasuma
PFS # 146423-3
Day job: Perform (acting) or Perform (oratory), both +7
Faction: Liberty's Edge

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Fortunately, I do have darkvision!
Unfortunately, I can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will fire at the apeman who just hit Eryndir:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 ⇒ 6
The dice don't like me!

Amsheagar: I guess the Deeper Darkness spell deprives me of a light source to create a shadow puppet does it?

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma takes another potshot at the ape that Cade hit earlier:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 ⇒ 1
A marksman he is not!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will take a crossbow shot at the ape-man that Cade did hit already.
light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d6 ⇒ 4

Oh well. My expectations weren't high.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Nice!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Thanks!

I think...

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Lacking any other plans, Shutakasuma will run up to a tree near the large building in front of the cavern they were in and start climbing up.

The cunning plan is to climb up and use his light crossbow to snipe at the ape men Cade is fighting. He should be just barely in range once he climbs up

climb (untrained): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"OUCH!"
Shutakasuma will create a Shadow Servant to try to lift up the orb.
Performances left: 6/7
That Shadow Servant should last for 3 rounds with Lingering Performance

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shouting over the din of battle, Shutakasuma shouts:
"Tyriel's mind is inside that golem! Follow me! I have an idea!"

Shutakasuma grabs the glyph-covered square Tyriel was holding and runs back into the chamber. He stands in front of the nearest golem, holding the the glyph-square in one hand and touching the iron golem with the other.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will look at the Iron golum and point to Tyriel's body. Then, using the PF sign language, he'll ask the golem "Is that you?"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

This is - interesting!

"Who or what are you?"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Did we actually get a chance to recover spells before arriving here? If so, I will cast CLW on Tyriel.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Tuh-bloody-riffic!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"Maybe Julian, or someone else in the expedition, would know what do to with this magic thing. Whatever it is."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"Wait a moment!"

"Perhaps that object has something to do with those four magic statue things we passed by when we first came in here? They must be connected somehow if they're all in hidden in this chamber."

GM (Amsheagar):

IF if it's possible for me to try Use Magic Device with this thing, even though I have no idea if will work or not, I'll try a Use Magic Device roll (the only skill Shutakasuma has that might be helpful here. Maybe.

Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Brilliant! Inspired! A complete waste of time with rolls like that! :P

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will try to busy himself to look over the walls and column of this chamber to see if there might be any other niches, compartments, or perhaps hidden doors of some sort.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Not I! Shutakasuma has no Spellcraft skill.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will fire his crossbow at the skeleton to Cade's left.
That will hopefully take care of him being flanked.
light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d6 ⇒ 6
But not like that, he won't!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

"What a bother! I'm still not rested up enough to have any spells on hand!"

Shutakasuma will ready his crossbow, now that Eryndir has alerted everyone of danger.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"Unfortunately, I'll need to rest up before I can cast any more cure spells. But, in the mean time, I can light up the hall n front of us."

With that, Shutakasuma will cast a Dancing Lights spell to make four moving lights and hover them in the first opening in the hallway, about 35 feet in front of him.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will just enter the room and keep his eyes open for anything other than the golems (which he will not touch):

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
And he successfully sees there are four big statues there! Woo!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will try to keep alert for anything unusual: secret passages and the like.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

And, like Tyriel, he'll see if he can remember anything resembling these statues and the writing outside
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

"What an interesting place this is!"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"We should let them in. It looks of the Charau-Ka are going to want to kill both us and the mercenaries. Our best chance of surviving is to be friends. For now, anyway."

Shutakasuma will also try to recall anything he can about the Charau-Ka that might be helpful under the circumstances.

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Hopefully that's useful!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Joining the others entering the palisade, Shutakasum says "Either this site or the Mercenaries, or both, set the ape-men off! But they don't look like they're about to tell us nicely either."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"Likewise. But I like the thought of being trod upon even less than that."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"I don't know, Tyriel. Maybe with any luck the mercenaries and those monsters can kill each other off and save us the bother. But we'll probably have to help the Mercenaries. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"I concur!"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"First things first! Into the camp! Quickly!. It looks like we might have to make nice with some mercenaries. So soon too!"

"I wonder if those mercenaries and ape men will do us a favour and kill each other off first? I doubt it, but one can only hope."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"Just telling Cade what we can do with that mercenary if there is a next time. Hope not. At least for his sake. Still, best to get going with this load of supplies! And be more aware of the possibility of ambush anywhere else along the way!"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will smile and speak to Cade in Wayang:

Wayang:
"If meet him in a fight again, Fang can always help disguise him as dog s***!"

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"I agree. Now that we have his armour and weapons, he's on his own. We've got more important things to do now."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

I'm okay. No limbs have fallen off ("`tis but a scratch"), which is an encouraging sign! :)

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

No problem. These things happen.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma considers what should be done with the unconscious captain: "His belongings will be fair payment for what he tried doing to us! We should tie him up and revive him; just enough to keep him from dying. And then find out what we can from him about what is going on. He might even be a profitable hostage, with any luck."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will check to see if the mercenary captain is still alive in the first place:
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

"You're welcome, Tyriel! Don't be too quick to try and finish that Captain off. Be a waste of a good spell for starters. Besides, if he is still alive, he could be more profitable as a prisoner. Maybe. But after what he just tried doing to us I won't shed a tear if he is dead."

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Is the mercenary captain just unconscious, or is he pushing up the daisies (dead)? He might be worth more to us alive as a hostage, prisoner, or what have you. If he's still breathing, of course.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Eloisa could use some healing!

I used up my two spells for the day already

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

We're in a whole new round, I think...

For the moment, I think there's a bard that could use a tap of your healing wand!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Well, now I know who the party medic is!

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

Shutakasuma will cast a Cure Light Wounds on Tyriel next round. Provided he doesn't get knocked out before he can do that. Then he will move beside/under the wagon to have a clear line of site on the Merc captain for next round. And use the wagon as cover from the other mercenaries.

Cure Light on Tyriel: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

I moved my counter on the map by the side of the cart closest to the Merc captain. My marker is still showing as 2 HP, if that makes any difference.

Liberty's Edge

Male Wayang (inactive) Bard

@Amsheagar: one question about using Shadow Puppets. Would a Bloody Skeleton be allowed as one of the Summon Monster I types that he can use as a shadow puppet? It's not that great a choice anyway. If it's not allowed, an Eagle is probably a better choice anyway.
