Shutakasuma will try to create a shadow puppet of an eagle. Because of the darkness, high works, low bombs.
darkness attempt:1d100 ⇒ 85 Huzzah!
The Shadow Eagle will attack the apeman between Cade and Eryndir:
talon 1:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 91d4 ⇒ 2 talon 2:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d4 ⇒ 3 bite:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d4 ⇒ 1 I added +2 to hit for flanking, you can adjust that if I got it wrong
@Amsheagar: I'm not sure how how you want to handle the apemen disbelieving the shadow puppets attacking them. But if they do disbelieve the attacking shadow eagle each attack does one HP (which is still better than nothing, of course)
Lacking any other plans, Shutakasuma will run up to a tree near the large building in front of the cavern they were in and start climbing up.
The cunning plan is to climb up and use his light crossbow to snipe at the ape men Cade is fighting. He should be just barely in range once he climbs up
"OUCH!"
Shutakasuma will create a Shadow Servant to try to lift up the orb.
Performances left: 6/7
That Shadow Servant should last for 3 rounds with Lingering Performance
Shouting over the din of battle, Shutakasuma shouts:
"Tyriel's mind is inside that golem! Follow me! I have an idea!"
Shutakasuma grabs the glyph-covered square Tyriel was holding and runs back into the chamber. He stands in front of the nearest golem, holding the the glyph-square in one hand and touching the iron golem with the other.
"Perhaps that object has something to do with those four magic statue things we passed by when we first came in here? They must be connected somehow if they're all in hidden in this chamber."
GM (Amsheagar):
IF if it's possible for me to try Use Magic Device with this thing, even though I have no idea if will work or not, I'll try a Use Magic Device roll (the only skill Shutakasuma has that might be helpful here. Maybe.
Use Magic Device:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Brilliant! Inspired! A complete waste of time with rolls like that! :P
Shutakasuma will try to busy himself to look over the walls and column of this chamber to see if there might be any other niches, compartments, or perhaps hidden doors of some sort.
Shutakasuma will fire his crossbow at the skeleton to Cade's left.
That will hopefully take care of him being flanked. light crossbow:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d6 ⇒ 6 But not like that, he won't!
"Unfortunately, I'll need to rest up before I can cast any more cure spells. But, in the mean time, I can light up the hall n front of us."
With that, Shutakasuma will cast a Dancing Lights spell to make four moving lights and hover them in the first opening in the hallway, about 35 feet in front of him.
"We should let them in. It looks of the Charau-Ka are going to want to kill both us and the mercenaries. Our best chance of surviving is to be friends. For now, anyway."
Shutakasuma will also try to recall anything he can about the Charau-Ka that might be helpful under the circumstances.
Joining the others entering the palisade, Shutakasum says "Either this site or the Mercenaries, or both, set the ape-men off! But they don't look like they're about to tell us nicely either."
"I don't know, Tyriel. Maybe with any luck the mercenaries and those monsters can kill each other off and save us the bother. But we'll probably have to help the Mercenaries. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that."
"Just telling Cade what we can do with that mercenary if there is a next time. Hope not. At least for his sake. Still, best to get going with this load of supplies! And be more aware of the possibility of ambush anywhere else along the way!"
Shutakasuma considers what should be done with the unconscious captain: "His belongings will be fair payment for what he tried doing to us! We should tie him up and revive him; just enough to keep him from dying. And then find out what we can from him about what is going on. He might even be a profitable hostage, with any luck."
"You're welcome, Tyriel! Don't be too quick to try and finish that Captain off. Be a waste of a good spell for starters. Besides, if he is still alive, he could be more profitable as a prisoner. Maybe. But after what he just tried doing to us I won't shed a tear if he is dead."
Is the mercenary captain just unconscious, or is he pushing up the daisies (dead)? He might be worth more to us alive as a hostage, prisoner, or what have you. If he's still breathing, of course.
Shutakasuma will cast a Cure Light Wounds on Tyriel next round. Provided he doesn't get knocked out before he can do that. Then he will move beside/under the wagon to have a clear line of site on the Merc captain for next round. And use the wagon as cover from the other mercenaries.
Cure Light on Tyriel:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
I moved my counter on the map by the side of the cart closest to the Merc captain. My marker is still showing as 2 HP, if that makes any difference.
@Amsheagar: one question about using Shadow Puppets. Would a Bloody Skeleton be allowed as one of the Summon Monster I types that he can use as a shadow puppet? It's not that great a choice anyway. If it's not allowed, an Eagle is probably a better choice anyway.
