Well, since there is no further information, I'll take a shot at reinforcing Irith in case I get a better result than Theo. Not attempting to aid, but a seperate check - then higher would apply? Mordel ponders the situation of the strange bidding war and Myrosype's offer to circumvent it. Watching for a short time he approaches Irith to discuss matters of the city, mentioning of the importance of the docks and having such an undue influence in a critical place. Diplomacy (not including tentacles etc): 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19 Not that it matters with my rolls again.

Sheperd Mordel also shakes his head. "While this community operates by strange rules they are their rules. I will not throw my lot in with you in such a duplicitous manner." he says as he looks ready to leave with Toral.

@Toral With yourself, Lukaas and myself we have 3 good diplomacy rolls. Theo with Merchant could be counting as a 4th so we can try to successes on each of the bidders in this round and the next. Just a matter of how hot or cold our dice are. Again assuming we don't have any other upsets like the previous round.

Could we have a bit more information on what the table is exactly trying to tell us? The checks for the wharf make sense, but what are the "V"s? A success, a double success? There is a bid announcer, but do we know who is bidding on each place? Or is it everyone and we are expected to be trying Sense Motives etc to find which place is each bidders "real" areas of interest?

Ouch, so everyone else is -2 on all their skill checks here. Sheperd Mordel looks over the document knowing that this would likely be beyond him and missing the simpler small communities of Erastil compared to this large and overly complex one. Linguistics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Approaching Vayde about the Scriptorum. "Most interesting to actually visit a place of the gods more directly. Makes one want to make sure they remember it all or see the interpretations that others have made, although I am sure a Lord such as yourself would find easy access to the libraries of the Scriptorum." Adding in the +2 for earlier impression. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 2 = 31

Heh, just was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Didn't expect it was boon related although. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Assuming Mordel isn't too busy failing to talk.

Sheperd Mordel looks at the dish wishing internally for some simple hearty fare, but this was a place that this was normal so he attempted to progress through. Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 He then attempts to pick up discussions with Vayde again. "Greetings again honored elder. How goes your bidding into the Scriptorium, I would assume access to much of the religious texts there of great interest. I hope your bid is successful as we have news that some parties are looking for any property just for the mere sake of influence." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 Well, my influence dice rolls really aren't paying off.

As Vayde was surrounded by people Mordel moves to mingle into the crowd, stopping to chat with Cyran Androtus. "Greetings to you. I have heard that Hell Knights are looking into the Courts of Abstinence. While their methods are often too brutal, their goals of law hold merit. I believe they have some truck with the outer plane that gives their name. I wonder if there will be more portals to tend there in the Courts of Abstinence." he goes over a speech to see what interest the elf holds and perhaps to perk further interest in that place. Courts of Abstinenece: Many people, Cheliax, Hellknights -> Cyran (lawful planes)
So we have 5 bidders including Myroscope, and 5 districts. Do we know who can afford 2 districts? Maybe Temel getting cash from Working End to afford it and get that and Prophets Burg? Assuming that Mordel has acquired a rapport with Vayde with his oratory then he will attempt to progress the Scriptum to Vayde.

I still get the feeling we aren't quite doing the it right party strategy wise. I am assuming we are supposed to work out some information to guide us somewhat. But it more seems like we want to try to work out which person we want to buy each spot then hit them with an influence check each event. So we shouldn't really be ganging up as you can only influence that person once per event....?

Sheperd Mordel takes up his moniker of a servant of Erastil for a costume, hiding his tigers head with that of an elk. Approaching Vayde Patronax on entry he bows a deep gesture of respect. "Greetings Honored Elder. May Erastil offer his guidance as you do so to the Community here. I am but a humble petitioner asking for entrance." he speaks with a deep rumbling voice that holds note of reverence for a community leader, while remaining simple and direct. Thinking aloud for party comment and discussion (prior to the party arriving to the first bidding): So I take it we need to work out the budget each of the bidders has then which properties they are most interested in and encourage them to outbid Myro for that land. I would assume Myro's effective budget will go up as the properties narrow as it will be split less ways? So really we need to try to get a relative worth of everyone and get the least wealthy (in respect to this if not total) to bid the highest on the cheapest property and progress upwards to try to keep Myro outstaked each time. Am missing anything? This sounds complex enough as it is.

Sheperd Mordel looks quizzically at the offered clothing. "Note that I have some er, differences from normal humanoid form. Also this is more fancy than I am used to but becoming part of a Community means to adopt the norms of that people." his tail swishes to bring attention to itself while he also holds a hand to his larger neck where the tigerlike head joins into his torso.

"Erastil guide my shots that I may end a scourge upon lawful travellers." Mordel says quietly as he loose a pair of arrows, one at each of the two opposing archers. Acting assuming we can't see the bandit archers yet but have reasonable suspicion. With a frown, Mordel steps forward and to the side to have a clear overview of the area. Pulling bow to the ready as he moves, he surveys the area for any confederates that the dwarven woman had as this bridge seemed an easy choke point. Ready action to shoot first foe spotted that attacks. If they are within 30' when they attack point blank would apply. A tall figure with starkly different bearing steps forward. A cloak is pushed back revealing a head is that of a tiger to match the furred tail extending from the bottom of the garment. A silvery mithril breast covers his torso, but the focus is a highly polished silver symbol of Erastil hanging on a chain. He clears his throat gruffly before speaking in a rumbling voice that holds a slight Vudrani accent. "A community must be able look to its leaders to bring the greater good. Those such as the Aspis would corrupt any such position. I would be more glad to strive to assist." Pausing to bow to the Venture-Captain in respect he addresses Toral and the rest of the group. "I am Mordel. Paladin of Erastil. While I may hold some small amount of my deities power and bowmanship I also can seek to help in negotiations." Mordel pauses to recollect any further useful information he has heard on Myrosype, the Aspis, Druma and Alabastrine. Know Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
