Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
I'm writing this for every game I'm in:
A few days ago, a very close relative was diagnosed with the initial stages of a very serious disease, and my family and I are trying to cope with what it's going to happen.
It's been a AWFUL few days, and I'm sorry I didn't post anything but saying I was crushed would be an understatement.
I'll try to sort through the posts since I was gone later today and post something in the gameplay thread tonight.
Thank you all for your patience with me.
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka helps searching the place, taking 20 like the others, for a total of 20+10=30, if needed.
I'll write more tonight, right now I'm in a hurry! :o
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Nope, can't use it unfortunately. I'll just have to save up some cash and get myself a nice spear. ^_^
As for the ring, thanks guys I really appreciate it, but let's be honest it'll probably be more useful to either Aeron or Tessai, since Selka is going to start to cast a few spells before wading into battle more and more as time goes on, and since Tessai seems to have one less AC point than Aeron, I'd gladly see her take the ring.
The stronger the party, the more chances we have of success! ^_^
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Selka thrusts her spear forward in the darkness once more trying to bring down her target, but between the unholy darkness and the tiefling's reflexes her strike goes wide and misses.
I'm actually relieved... Faxon's death by Tessai's hand was so perfect, 'stealing' it from her would've been an awful crime indeed! ^_^
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka recoils when the unexpected cone of flames engulfs her, burning her skin and clothes and leaving behind a most unpleasant smell of brimstone and singed flesh.
Gritting her teeth, Selka decides to ignore the Hell Hound for the time being and focus her efforts on bringing down the greatest threat, the Tiefling general.
Circling the enemies to try and put some distance between herself and the Hell Hound, Selka positions herself on Tessa's left flank, and resumes her assault on Faxon.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Miss Chance (1-50 = Miss; 51-100 = Hit): 1d100 ⇒ 95
Selka moves to I:5, then attacks Faxon once again.
EDIT - Forgot to roll the save vs fire. Here it is! ^_^
Reflex Vs. Breath Weapon (DC 14): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Aeron remember you got Bull's Strength on you. That's a +4 to Str right there! ^_^
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Despite the sudden magical darkness engulfing the battlefield forcing her to forgo her sight and focus on her other senses, Selka decides to press the attack and advances to strike at the wounded tiefling.
With a mighty war cry, the young cleric steps forward and thrusts her spear against the enemy.
"For Kenabres!"
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Miss Chance (1-50 = Miss; 51-100 = Hit): 1d100 ⇒ 65
Selka 5-foot-steps to F:6, then tries to strike down Faxon.
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka uses 1 of her Initiative Rerolls for the day. She rolls twice and takes the higher result.
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
"You are the foolish one." - Selka spits out with scorn, looking the man dead in the eye.
With a swift motion Selka raises her arm, and puts her hand on Aeron's shoulder. A moment later, her hand glows with divine energy as otherworldly power pours into the large warrior's body, granting him newfound strength.
"You shall pay for everything you've done, here and now!"
Selka casts Bull's Strength on Aeron, then moves to F:7, ready to intercept anyone trying to get to the members of the party behind her.
Go, go Aeron... It's Hammer Time! ;)
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka hurries over to Raven's and helps her stand - "Absolutely, my friend. Here... Stay still."
With a look of concentration, she places her hands over her companion's wounds, and a moment later a warm, placid energy flows from her palms to mend Raven's injuries.
Cure Light Wounds (Sacrificed spell = Command): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
With the bulk of Raven's injuries taken care of, the young Cleric urges everyone in need to come closer and receive a small dose of divine healing.
Channel Positive Energy, Healing: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
After Orlando's elegant maneuver and Tessai's well-placed strike, Selka realizes the cultist in front of her is now perfectly exposed for an attack, and thrusts her spear forward in a mighty lunge.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Selka attacks Cultist 2 in G:10
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka grimaces when the party enters the building, but keeps her mouth shut and her head low.
When she's sure the guards are far enough behind, she whispers a few hushed words to her companions - "That was quick thinking Orlando, well done! But now we need to act quickly... I don't think we'll be able to keep this charade up for long..."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
When Orlando opens fire, Selka is as startled as the enemy guards, and precious moments are lost as she tries to shake the surprise and get into the fight.
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
"Quickly, we need to dispatch them before others arrive!"
Protection from Evil for Selka as well (I have a feeling we'll need the extra protection! :o ).
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
"The Tower is almost destroyed!" - Selka exclaims after taking in the sight of it - "Whichever group of demons did this may still be near, we need to be careful..."

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Tessai wrote: Tessai walks around the stalls, greeting both the guards and craftsmen around - she feels confident with Radiance in her scabbard, and decides to invest solely in a new, reinforced backpack, to allow her to redistribute the weight carried. Seeing Tessai and her brand new backpack, Selka decides to follow her example and buy a reinforced pack as well, to help her better carry her equipment.
Just as Tessai did, buying Masterwork Backpack for 50 gp.
Selka crosses her arms and nods to herself, while pondering the alternatives - "With the city in this condition there is not a moment to spare... However going out unprepared would be too risky. Our foes are deadly, and we need to be in our best shape if we want to have a chance to defeat them."
"Let's rest for today, and tomorrow... We will make the demons pay!"
Aravashial seems to be quite insistent about the library. Should we listen to the blind mage? Selka if fine with either choice, but if it comes down to a tie, she'd vote for the library. ^_^

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
YES! I have internet again!
Just when I thought I was starting to get a grip on my life again... the area where I live was hit by a minor flood. Fortunately damage was very minimal (thank god!), but a small landslide did break a major gas pipe, and severely F@!*ed up phone and internet services.
As it turns out, they were working on the line when the slide it, and they had to wait for the emergency to pass AND for the gas pipe to be fixed first before restoring everything else.
Add to that that my provider took its sweet sweet time to restore my service even after basically every other provider was done with it, and here I am today, tired, frustrated, quite a bit pissed (since unfortunately due to this I actually missed the deadline to send a curriculum for a nice job position I believe I'd have had an actual shot at getting... -.-'), but finally back on track! ^_^
I need to run right now, I have a job interview, but as soon as I get back I'll try to catch up with the game and post something!
With all my apologies (but it wasn't my fault, I swear! :o), it's good to be back! :D
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Yep, I'd love to use a charge if no one objects. ^_^
When the knights release the young woman, Selka nods solemnly and lets her tension fade away, then joins Raven and to make sure the girl is not hurt.
"Don't be afraid, you are safe now... Are you injured? Do you need healing?" - while she waits for the woman to say something, Selka turns her head and shoots the trio of knights a somewhat hard look, even though devoid of the harshness and anger she displayed before - "You too, since you regained your senses. If you need treatment then speak up, and I'll see what I can do."

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Selka is appalled and enraged at the sight of what the three men seem about to do. Her hands clenched into fists and shaking with barely repressed anger, it takes all the young cleric's self-control not to leap forward and knock some sense into the foolish knights' heads, but before taking more drastic measures she decides to give diplomacy a try and back Orlando up in his diplomatic approach.
"In the name of the Inheritor, stop your actions immediately! Take a look at yourselves... Are you men, or beasts, that you would take the life of an innocent woman, instead of defending hers with your very own? In this hour of need, have you forgotten your honor? Have you forgotten your duty? Your blades should be used to repel the demons, not to harm innocents!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 4 = 29
Not sure if she gets the +4 or only Orlando does since he spoke first. If we only get a single try, then please use the roll above as an aid another action to Orlando's own roll. ^_^

Raven Leafwalker wrote: Selka is carrying a potion of LR, FYI. She is!? O.o'
Oh my... She is... Well, uh... There's that... (>.<)'
Approaching Varn, Selka rummages for a moment through her backpack, before taking out a dusty glass vial with a clear liquid inside - "Here, drink this. Give it a moment to take effect, It should cleanse you from the poison. If the torpor isn't gone or you feel ill tell me right away. We need to be at our best for..." - Selka takes a look around at the demonic devastation - "This..."
Now that I look at it, we also have a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with a few charges in it. I wouldn't mind using a charge to heal Selka, since with demons around I really want to be topped off if I can, and right now using another channel or sacrificing a spell seems a bit of a waste! :D
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
"If a resistance is being organized, then we should seek out Defender's Heart as soon as possible" - Selka nods gravely, deep in thought - "There is still too much we don't know about the situation we're in, and the crusaders at Defender's Heart might have some answers!"
Turning to take a quick look at the mauled bodies of the cultists, the young cleric frowns visibly, before averting her gaze - "Let's salvage what we can, then move out. We are too exposed out in the open like this..."
Let's loot the cultists, then leave 'em to the vultures! We have a city to save! ^_^
@Varn - Unfortunately I don't have LR prepared, sorry! :(
I absolutely plan to stock up on scrolls/wands/etc to be able to deal with this kind of situations swiftly and efficiently as soon as I get the chance, but right now I got nothin'! :(
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
The gruesome confrontation finally over, Selka takes a few deep breaths while looking around the battlefield, trying to determine with her experienced eye how badly wounded are her companions, and if the villagers need assistance as well.
"Here, come closer, I'm a cleric of the Inheritor, I can help you if you're in need of healing." - she calls to the villagers, also gesturing to her friends to gather around if they require her talents.
When everyone is close enough, Selka channels energy to get them back on their feet!
Channel Positive Energy, Healing: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Ok, I'm trying to get back into the game! If I get this right: Selka's initiative is after the enemies, it's our turn to act, and she took 7+11=18 damage. Assuming I got this right, here I go! ^_^
Although her wounds are pulsing angrily with pain, Selka focuses all her attention on her enemy, trying to find an opening to take advantage of.
'I need to finish him quickly, Varn needs help!'
Taking a quick step back, she suddenly twists her arm and sends her spear swirling forward toward the cultist's gut.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
5-foot-step to J:8, then attack on Cultist 5.
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
I'm mortified beyond belief.
Just when I thought the worst was over and I had pulled through, it went all down to hell. Suffice to say I'm looking for a new job, and possibly in a few days a new home. Saying I've been miserable the past few days would be an understatement. To avoid falling into depression, I'm taking a few days off job-hunting and so on to 'reorganize my life', so to speak... Paradoxically, this means I should be able to spare the time to play a little bit! At least it'll cheer me up some! :)
Right now I really need some sleep, when I get up I play to come back, read all about what I missed and finally post something.
Thank you all for your patience!

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
I'm writing this for every game I'm in:
I'm deeply sorry I disappeared for as long as I did. As you may know I'm dealing with serious problems with my job, and in the past week I was hit with an issue after another, regarding work, family and health. I've been so busy I didn't have the time to even think about taking a few moments for myself. Of course, I should have posted as much way sooner than now, instead of just disappearing and leaving everyone waiting. Every day I would tell myself I had to take a few minutes to at least write a quick post about my inability to play, and every day something new and disastrous would happen that required dealing with without delay (yes, it's been one of the worst weeks of the last several years...)
My situation SHOULD be getting better starting next week, and I'll do my best to start posting again on Monday. Once again, I'm very sorry for disappearing like I did, and I hope I didn't cause too much trouble.
Hope to see you next week! :)
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka shakes her head - "Out of the question. We are not leaving the city, we are going to take it back! We just need to asses the situation, and decide the best course of actions..."
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Selka is very relieved to see that not everyone has fallen prey to the demons, and greets the two survivors warmly - "Well met friends, if you are in need of healing I can assist you, otherwise it would be best if we hurry up, we need to keep moving."
After arriving at the manor, Selka accepts the reward Horgus offers with a nod and a word of thanks, then before any decision is taken, she gathers everyone around her and swiftly administers much needed healing magic.
Hear ye, hear ye! Ladies and gentlemen, cleric's in town and she accepts orders! Step right up! Who among you fine folks is in need of the healing arts? ^_^
Just to be sure: Aeron, Varn, Raven, Tessai and all NPCs are uninjured. Selka and Orlando need healing.

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Waiting to post till Tessai double personality issue is resolved! xD
EDIT - On second thought, it doesn't really influence Selka's actions. Simply, Selka remains in place and attacks demon 2 if it's still alive, otherwise she attacks demon 3.
gritting her teeth, Selka aims her spear and delivers another thrust.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
With the demons staggering under the heavy attacks of her companions, Selka presses the advantage and closes in with one of the fiends to try and fell it with her spear.
5-foot-step to B:11, then attack on number 2.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Deeply sorry guys, RL is keeping me busy these days! I'm making a post in a moment.
"Blasted demons, they're not coming forward... We need to press the attack ourselves!"
Her eyes upon the most damaged foe, Selka leaps forward to engage the enemy.
Selka moves to B:10 and attacks the demon that looks closer to death (so I believe demon 1 in A:12).
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Oooooh! I've always wanted to do it... Use my longspear to brace against a charge! ;D
Selka nods appreciatively when her companions hold their ground at her sides. "We are in a good position, let's hold the line and kill any demon foolish enough to attack!"
Assuming a defensive stance, the stout cleric gets a frim grip on her longspear and prepares herself for the incoming assault.
Selka readies and action to brace against any charging foes (if she hits, she deals double damage!).
Readied Attack, Brace, Longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 (x2 if enemy is charging)
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Damn, that poor bird got hammered, 81 damage! If you could replicate that feat of strength Aeron, we could retake the Worldwound in no time! xD
Surprise Round
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"There could be someone still alive in that building!" - Selka shouts as soon as she sees the trio of demons - "We need to repel them before they break in!"
Without a moment's hesitation, the young cleric leaps forward and joins the fight.
Selka advances with Tessai and Aeron, weapon in hand and ready to AoO the first demon foolish enough to approach. ;)

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
"By the gods... I had feared... But this..." - Selka murmurs when her eyes settle upon the devastation.
She remains as if transfixed for a long moment, the sight of the ruined city, once a bastion of light and hope against the demonic hordes of the Worldwound, obviously unsettling her deeply.
Finally pulling herself together, Selka turns toward the others - "We can't let it end like this... We must not let it end like this! T-There has to be others, still fighting, we need to find them and do anything in our power to retake the city!" - she throws a rapid glance at the ruined buildings around, trying to determine their position - "Trying to reach one of the safehouses would probably be for the best... But we need to take care of the wounded first. Anevia can barely walk, and Aravashial needs to regain his sight... We could try to reach your manor, Horgus, and if it's safe have you, Anevia and Aravashial hide there while we proceed to Nyserian Manor, or the Tower of Estrod and assess the situation..."
Selka agrees to go to Horgus Manor, then Nyserian Manor or another of the safehouses. She is a bit reluctant to go anywhere else first, since she fears for the safety of the three 'civilians' with the group, but relents as long as the party takes a decision quickly. The city needs help, and time's of the essence! ;)

Round 1
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
As soon as she spots the demons, Selka steps up and tries to impale them on her spear. "Foul fiends! Get back to pit that spawned you and leave this world at once!"
Move to get in range, and standard to attack the nearest demon (and apparently miss!).

Hey guys, I'm back! ^_^
Wow, there is a metric TON of posts I need to go through before I'm up and running again, might take a little bit...
Anyway, I'm thrilled to be able to play again, and hope I didn't cause too much trouble with my absence.
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
Re-posting this in every game I'm in, since server rollback destroyed my last post:
Due to family issues, health concerns (just a touch of the flu, but still), and a terrible crisis at work all of my time is taken, and I won't be able to consistently be present here on the boards and play.
I'll try my best to write something whenever possible, but at the very least till the 28, when a work deadline I can't possible afford to miss is set, my presence here will be sporadic at best.
I'm deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and I give every GM permission to bot my characters any way the see fit, if the need arises.
Thank you guys, sorry again, and happy gaming! ^_^

"Damn door... Why... Won't you... OPEN!"
Selka puts all of her strength in the task and pushes as hard as she can.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Finally a good roll! If we can't get it open now, I'm personally smashing it down, piece by piece. ;)
Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
"Let's see if we can pry it open... If we can't, then we'll try something more drastic."
Selka approaches the door, puts her hands on it, and tries to force it open.
Strength Check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
This is either a normal check, or an aid-another check if someone else wants to roll the 'main' check. ;)

Female Human (Kellid) Cleric of Iomedae (War [Tactics], Glory [Heroism]) 3
"I think we should try and pry that hidden door open" - Selka chimes in, straightening herself now that most of her wounds have been healed - "There is obviously something important they wish to conceal behind it. It could very well be the way to the surface... Or perhaps their inner sanctum? If so, we could even find valuable intel on the demon attack on the surface! Now, we just need to find a way to open it..."
A little puzzled, she looks around the room, trying to find some way to open the strange door.

I'm trying to determine who needs healing: 5 hp Tessai, 5 hp Orlando, 17 Selka... Did I miss someone?
Clutching her wounds, Selka looks around the battlefield, trying to make sure the fight is truly over and no more enemies are coming.
Satisfied, she calls for the others to come closer, and starts tending to the wounded.

1 hp! Damn this fight is brutal! :o
Selka's vision starts to swirl and blur as she approaches the limits of her resilience.
'If I have to die, I'll take one last evildoer with me!'
With a strangled grunt, she raises her weapon and attacks her foe once more.

For some reason I can't seem to access the Google Drive where the map is anymore... Anyone else having this problem? O.o
Selka cries in pain when the arrow digs deep into her flesh. Gritting her teeth, she grips the arrow and breaks it in half, looking directly at Wenduag. "You betrayed you own people! You just drew your last breath, demon whorshiper!"
Spear held high above her head, Selka steps forward, and brings it down on the archer's skull.

"I've got your back. As soon as they step up, we'll strike them down!"
If there is at all time to prepare, Selka casts Protection from Evil on herself as well (using her spell-like ability to do so). Then she gets behind Tessai, at L6, ready to impale whoever comes close enough with her reach weapon!
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Round 2
Having reached the barricade, Selka swiftly climbs it and drops on the other side, weapon in hand and ready to strike.
Turning toward the closest enemy, she twirls her spear and lashes forward.
Selka climbs the barricade (I rolled in the post above, 13), then attacks the closest enemy!
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Tessai wrote: Tessai is slow to react, but... Don't forget that if you want Selka can grant a few Init. rerolls a day, thanks to her Tactics domain! You can take one right now if you like. ^_^
When the bolt from the enemy's crossbow pierces the air near them, Selka instinctively dodges to the side - 'Those must be the traitor mongrelmen Lann warned us about...' - and frowns visibly as the signal whistle piercing sound spreads into the cave.
"Quickly! We need to dispatch them before they alert the others!" Weapon in hand, she jumps forward trying to reach the barricade and get past as fast as possible.
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Climb: 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 4 = 13
Double movement (40 ft.) to reach the barricade. If she can, she climbs it in this round, otherwise she does so in the next.

Selka takes Lann's hands in her own, and thanks the mongrelman profusely - "Thank you for all your help. From this point onward, we can proceed on our own. Please get back safely to your town, and tell your people they have our thanks and friendship. Farewell, Lann!"
Eager to see the light of the surface once again, and knowing how close they all are to finally be able to do so, Selka takes hold of her weapon, double checks her equipment, and follow the group into the cave.
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 4 = 4
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
*Clangh* *clangh* *clangh*, says the new armor! ;p

"Better than expected. Despite his sorrow, his will remains strong and he thinks of his people first" - Selka nods to Varn, in her words clear admiration for the mongrelman chieftain - "He gave us this weapon. It was supposed to be a gift for his son... He asks that we use it to crush at least a traitor mongrelman's skull on our way to the surface."
Her grip tightens on her own weapon as she adds, in a very serious tone - "I intend to help fulfill that promise."
