I just got the PACG last Thursday and I play my first two scenioes on Sunday with two other frends. I love the game. We had a ball playing it. So now I have a question about Seoni's Combat Checks. For your combat check, you may discard a card to roll your Arcane die + 1d6 ... When I was playing Seoni and I had a combat check, I did one of two things: A) I rolled a Strenght: Melee: 1d4 or B) I recharge a spell to have a combat check: 1d12 + 1d6, because of Seoni second ability. So here are my questions: 1) Did I play this correctly? 2) One of the other player were playing Valeros. A couple time I added 1d4 because Valeros and Seoni were at the same location. Did I play that correctly, too? 3) I found Force Missle at a location. It seem weaker than Seoni's first power. So I recharge it to use Seoni's first power. So is there an advantage for Seoni to use Force Missle?
Hi, My daughter and I are thinking of creating two PFS characters. We have been talking about creating two Inquisitors of Nethys. One of our characters represents Nathys’ white side and the other the black side. We talked about the white side being flashy character and the black side being a stealthy character. We are thinking the white side Inquisitor using a two-handed weapon and Dazzling Display build. I looked at Infiltrator archtype for the black side. I am not sure how useful Misdirection will be. Guileful Lore is better than a second Monster Lore. Forbidden Lore does not come into play for Nethys. I am not sure how well Necessary Lies may help in PFS. I am looking for suggestion with the black side character and input on Infiltrator. Also, how useful is the two Inquisitor changing there Teamwork feats doing combat?
Hi,
In the last year my oldest daughter (she is 12) has become interested in role-playing. I invited some friends over and we have started playing Rise of the Runelords AP as a monthly game that includes my daughter. She is doing great. We have played about 6 sessions. I start with the beginner box rules for the first session and we have added rules until we are up to the core rules. My daughter wants to go to the convention with me this year. I thought we could do some Pathfinder Society sessions. We have talked about creating characters before the convention and that they know each other. My goal would be for her to have a great time playing and be successful in her faction mission. Would it be good if both of our characters be of the same faction? Are there classes more useful in Pathfinder Society play? (i.e. There never any fighters or Druid suck because they’re very little Wilderness adventures) Are there classes that are more useful for specific faction mission more than other? (i.e. Rogues are useful for Sczarni’s mission) Are there skills that are more useful for faction mission more than other? (i.e. Diplomacy is used a lot missions) Are there skills that are more useful for specific faction mission more than other? (i.e. sneak is used in Sczarni’s mission a lot)
I am not sure if this is the correct forum. Please, move this thread if it is not in the correct forum. I want to my players to do a ‘scavenger hunt’ for a good Fairy Queen or Noble. At each item the player will need to overcome some sort of trial/encounter/contest. The list of items I can think of is: • A 4-Leaf Clover from a Leprechaun
So for example anyone who touched a mushroom from a Fairy Circle would need to make a Will Save or dance as if affected by Irresistible Dance spell for an hour. My question is can you help me come up with ideas for the trial/encounter/contest?
Hi, My old child wants to play Pathfinder for the first time. We have talk about characters ideas and she said she is interested in playing a combination of ‘Hermione Granger and Katniss Everdeen.’ So I was thinking of Bard Archaeologist that used a bow. If we get high level she could do an Arcane Archer. Are there other ideas of getting a scholar archer? Can people give me hints on good feats and for this build?
I am going to play a cleric in Way of the Wicked campaign from Fire Mountain Games. The campaign starts at level 1 and goes to level 20. I have not played a cleric since 3.0 D&D. The campaign and the GM is pushing for a Lawful Evil Cleric of Asmodeus, which I am OK with it. Asmodeus's domain are:
Asmodeus's Favored Weapon is a Mace (1d8 Crit: 20/x2). So what type of cleric works best for Asmodeus and why?
I have a question both dealing with natural weapons and the number of attacks. I am GMing a group. They are 3rd level. I have a new player wanting to join. He wants to play a centaur PC. He has chosen a ranger class and Natural Weapon as a combat style. . He character is planning on using a long sword and a shield in his hands. We were why he was taking Natural Weapon combat style and we have a disagreement with number attacks. He thinks he can do a full attack with the sword and both hooves. If he wants to use his hooves he need two-weapon fighting. What do you think?
In a lot of sources about goblins it says goblins can create cobbled item and in Goblins of Golarion it has rules on how they work. It sounds like the goblins can craft anything out of ‘garbage’ like weapon armor, cloths, back packs and any equipment. So, I have a couple players playing goblin PCs. How should I handle the crafting of the cobbled items? Should I have them put skill point into craft(cobbling) or create a feat for crafting cobbling items?
I ran this ‘We Be Goblins’ module last night and we had a great time I got an email this morning from one of the player asking if we could do a sequel. Is this a good module or Pathfinder Society module that could be slight modify to work with goblins as PC characters? I thought I remember an adventure in a Dungeon that had monsters as PC. Does anyone remember that adventure?
So last night we got a new player in our game. He created an Oracle character. I had not played or read much about the Oracle class therefore I ask “Does an Oracle a Spontaneous Cast?”
I replied “Casting spell without preparing them ahead of time.”
The person playing the cleric that agreed with him (the druid player) and the GM and I disagree with him (the druid player), which lead into a spall discussion. Therefore, I am asking what people call that ability to ‘cast spell without preparing them ahead of time’ like how the Bard, Sorcerer and apparently the Oracle does?
Hi, I am GMing/planning on GMing the D0, D1, E1, D1.5 and D4 Series. I am also GMing Pathfinder Society Scenario #43: The Pallid Plague and Pathfinder Society Scenario #23: Tide of Morning. I changed the setting of Tide of Morning to Darkmoon woods. I am also GMing some adventures of my own creation base around Falcon’s Hollow. My group has done D0, D1, Tide of Morning and one adventure of my own. I have about half of the group of character/players that is interacting with the town and NPC. By the way, I am using the face cards from the GameMastery series with the town folk and I think it working great. The other half of the party/players has not interact with the town folks and one of them piped up last session and ask when are we going to leave this dumpy town. Therefore, I have decided to do a “Christmas Carol” style prophetic –vision/dream adventure. The party’s vision is 5 years in the future. This is my current idea…
D4 Spoiler:
Tar-Baphon ‘helped’ Drazmorg to find the other seals and Tar-Baphon has gotten free. Tar-Baphon has created a new empire and Drazmorg is now one of Tar-Baphon’s lieutenants and is charge with the conquest of Andoran. The Andoran army is currently holding the Drazmorg’s army at Falcon’s Hollow. I am going to have each of the PC individually contacted by a god/ghost delivering the same message, which is ‘without the PC in Falcon’s Hollow great evil will arise.’ Then characters ‘wake up’ by the edge of Darkmoon woods. This is where we left off last session, but the wood are like Tainted Forest description in D4. As they walk back to Falcon’s Hollow the party will get attacked my some low level undead and solders from Drazmorg’s army. The party get to a ridge that overlooks Falcon’s hollow to find it surrounded by Drazmorg’s army. This is where I need some ideas. I want the party to meet some of the NPCs from Falcon’s Hollow to give them information and a quest. I have some ideas but nothing I have thought about says that is it. So I am asking for ideas for the community.
I have the whole Second Darkness AP. I have always wanted to run it, but my group is on this Sandbox kick. I have read only read the adventure synopses for Shadow in the Sky. I am thinking about running Shadow in the sky as a one shot using the Dresden Files type of game. I was thinking you could have the tavern be a casino. I think there a Drow Elf that could be a winter Faerie. Do you think this think? Would this work? Would I have to change a lot of the plot?
I have taken the map of Shiv and overlay it with a square grid. Each squire side is a mile; therefore a squire is a squire mile. The book says… spoiler:
It’s best to simply assume that the PCs, regardless of their group’s actual speed, can move about 1 mile every 2 hours due to the fact that it’s never possible to move in a straight line in the wilds of Smuggler’s Shiv. I am assuming that this is just walking a mile as a crow flies. So how long would you say it would take the group to search/explore a squire mile?
I in my gaming group we have 3 Game Masters. I am one of them. Me and another friend (Fred) started the group when D&D 3.0 came out in 2000. We have had people come and go but we always have about 6 people in our group. We each run a campaign and we switch every other week DMing. I was DMing Rise of the Runelords, we were at the end of Pathfinder #1 and real life happen. We temporary lost a couple people including myself and added a couple people including Fred ‘s wife. I am back and I started the group with TC1 and it went well. We then started playing D1 and in the middle Fred’s wife at the end of a session get frustrated and announces that she is not having fun. There were some non-game issues that be fixed like the tool we use for character generation and leveling and using the tactical vs. freeform combat. I also asked the group some questions on gaming in general like ‘what kinds of adventures do you like and why?’ It turns out that the group like Dungeons Craws and Exploring as first and second respectively. Followed at a distinct Espionage then another big gap then Political Intrigue and then Mysteries. It turns out that Fred’s Wife does not like Dungeons crawls but the group does. So the group discusses it and we decide that around 40% dungeons would be about right. I would like to run an Adventure Path. Focusing on exploring with some dungeons. Fred is already running Kingmaker therefore, it off the table. I was thinking Serpent’s Skull would be good. Is their any other AP that would fit? My second question is how would you get a group from Falcon’s Hollow onto Jenivere?
I created a local gaming group with some friends and we have met once a week for the last 9 years. We are currently in playing the RotRL campaign. Reality has reared it ugly head and I might have to relocate to 300 miles away because of employment opportunity. I would like to keep the campaign going. I was thinking we could game online. Therefore, my questions are: What tools do people uses to role-play online? Can you give me hint on how to do it successfully? Sannos
I went to my Subscription pages and noticed it says the following: Ongoing Subscription Most recent volume:
Next volume:
What happen to #15 and #16? Is this normal? Sannos
About a month ago I started a RofRL campaign using PFRPG beta rules. We have been playing every other week, because of real live circumstances. Therefore, we have 2 sessions. We used 20 point buy and the standard HPs. We have the following characters… Hildrathus Gorsedawn or Hild
Narathor Kinsenditfir
Isa
Daphne

After ‘The Swallowtail Festival’, my players have figured out that Father Tobyn’s body was stolen by the goblins. Since one of the characters was Father Tobyn friend he is hell bent to ‘go and get the body back before those goblins do something with it.’ He was ready to track them into for wilds. Therefore, I created a scene with Sheriff Hemlock. He asked the heroes to stay while he sent someone to try and find Shalelu a local elf ranger ‘who know a lot about the local goblins tribes.’ I think I lucked out that no one has survival. We did role-playing for a couple of days (game time), while they search for the way the goblins got into Sandpoint. I tried to run The Boar Hunt, but no one took the bait, because the PCs are waiting for Shalelu. Hence, I had Aldern invite then PCs to boar dinner the night after the hunt and had the conversation that was in the Boar hunt at dinner. I also decide that I would run 'Monster in the Closet' the same night as the dinner, since it been three day since the Festival. They captured Gresgurt and tied him up. We stop there for the night.
If I kept the characters around Sandpoint for much longer, the player will start to feel railroaded.
I could do 'The Missing Bartender' and then distract them with 'Glass and Wrath' or I could go let them hunt goblins with Shalelu and finally get to Thistletop. Which should I do?
First, I might have this Post in the wrong place. I am sorry if I did so. I made my best guess. Second, Over in the “Design Forums / Classes: Cleric, Druid, and Paladin” forum there is a lot of nerf the druid they are too powerful, but when I read “Playtest Reports” I only see a handful of reports on druids. The druid is the only class that got nerf and all the other classes got buffed in PFRPG. So my questions are… Who has seen a druid played in PFRPG? What level of druid? And if you could a little time… What is you thoughts on their power level?
After looking at you druid Icon Lini, I thought get finally we get a feline animal companion at first level. Then, I noticed that there is no Feline animal companion on the druid first level list. Therefore, I am requesting the feline choose at level one. I was thinking maybe a lynx. I saw a write up somewhere. I thought it was in Tome of Horrors, which I think is Open License.
I am not sure I have this in the correct Forum but this seem to be the best one. I want to start my Pathfinder Adventure subscription with Pathfinder #13 'Second Darkness - Chapter 1: Shadow in the Sky'. The FAQ states that I can choose between the current issue and the next one. Both issue #12 and #13 are released in August. Will there be a time delay between issues #12 and #13? Sannos |
