My downtime check is in the Discussion thread. Salvio stifles a yawn. "Well done, everyone! Reverend, that was a really useful spell--took the fight right out of him. I'll have to learn that one sometime." He's about to head off for some well-earned rest when a thought strikes him. "Ah, Lileone...do you have any idea why Tsomo would do this? It seems kind of odd, considering that he's got an established reputation here. I mean, why throw that away? And that whole 'pretending to be your own assistant' thing was weird." He'll also talk to Zahra. "Say, you should pay more attention to the Murajau current-chasers. They told us why they were interested in the shell settlement--it's because it was a funeral site for the last followers of Lysianassa, and as such it's holy to them. They wanted to go on a pilgrimage there." Did we get enough help for the next expedition, or do we need to follow up with anyone else?

Pinned or unconscious; the only reason I can think of that the paralyzed condition wasn't included is that they envision paralysis as complete rigor, as opposed to what it actually is.

Salvio directs the elemental to keep pushing. In the meantime, he reloads his crossbow and moves closer to the paralyzed elf. Bull rush attempt: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 1 = 9

Salvio completes his conjuration, calling forth a spirit of elemental water next to Tsomo. (AFAICT there's nothing weird about summoning a water elemental on the Elemental Plane of Water.) He addresses it in Aquan. "Carry the paralyzed elf to the edge of the pool and put him on the dock!" Not sure what, if anything, I have to roll for that since he's paralyzed.

Salvio wades forward, ducks quickly under the water, and shoots at the red shark. Light crossbow attack, including inspiration, PBS, and range penalty: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 + 1 - 6 = 3 The bolt is lost in the rushing water, though.

DC 18 Appraise check: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 13 - 2 = 18 Salvio finds the local equivalent of ghost peppers and gets them into the water just barely ahead of the fleeing bomber!

DC 18 Knowledge (Engineering) check: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 - 2 = 27 I've seen these before! Salvio quickly activates a set of remotes and uses them to harass the fleeing elf.

Knowledge (Engineering) check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 Salvio pauses in his thus-far fruitless attempt to disarm the diabolical mechanism and breathes. You'd think I'd be done with test anxiety by now...wait! Of course! The refractory ceramic nozzle has to be there to confine the melt and direct it to the weak spots in the structure, or all it'll do is spread out and cool rapidly! "I need a big hammer!" Knowledge (Engineering) check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30 After figuring out the weak spot in the device, disarming the last one is trivial.

The magnitude of the planned catastrophe is plain to the young wizard, and it focuses his mind on the problem at hand. "Ah, how about if we also send word to Zahra, Yuka, Lileone, and maybe Honoke and Razethka? This seems like it's too big for just us."

Surgery did indeed go well. However, I had some complications going in and couldn't go home until yesterday night. Recovery is also going well so far, but there's a very large difference between "going well" and "back to normal in a day or two." Alas.

Second round acid damage: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 Salvio's spell does a little bit more damage before it ends. Then he casts yet another spell at the red sahuagin, coating the harpoon in ectoplasmic slime. Casting grease; DC 17 Reflex save or drop the weapon.

Salvio stifles a yawn and grins. "It's a challenging puzzle or a puzzling challenge, and as my roommates at the Grand Lodge will tell you, once I've gotten my teeth into one of those sleep is an afterthought."

Salvio shakes his head, then stops. "I've read a lot of Pathfinder Chronicles since I joined the Society, and based on them all I can say for sure is that when someone does business under an alias it's because they don't want their public identity associated with what they're buying or selling. Maybe they're doing something dangerous or evil, but maybe it's because they're trying to avoid an unjust system. In this case, there are other indications that Tsomo is up to no good, though...he at least seemed to know that you'd be attacked by sahuagin. So I think we'll have to assume that he's going to do something incorrect with them."

"Oh, I've read that molten metal will make concrete crack and shatter, throwing around bits of rocks. You can also get ablation happening, but that's probably not important." Because of my RL job I've run into this before, but I don't think it's plot-relevant. It's just cool.

The young wizard continues to ponder the apparent technical problem at hand. So it gets as hot as a forge...you'd get a lot of steam, though...what am I missing? Grenades? Wait.... "What happens if it's ignited on cement?"

Salvio perks up at the mention of the alchemical material. "How hot does ironflame powder burn? Wait, that's not...no, it might be important. What can it be used for? I mean, it might burn underwater, but it's not going to ignite anything, because the water would just extinguish the fire." He thinks a bit more, then goes on with a little less intensity. "Um...didn't you think it was strange to want that much of it? Oh, and where was it delivered?"

Salvio advances, bringing up his light crossbow and shooting the blue sahuagin. "If they were closer together I'd have a spell for them--time for mere physicality!" Crossbow shot, including PBS and inspiration: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 + 2 = 22

His defenses in place, Salvio advances to where he can see what's happening. He intones the syllables of a spell as his fingers dance through gestures charged with arcane power, ultimately loosing a pair of force darts at the yellow sahuagin. Magic missile damage: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7
