Not that I enjoy killing characters, but an increase in challenge often brings about more tense/exciting situations. Probably one of my highlights was nearly killing off what everyone in our lodge assumed were the unstoppable barbarian and summoner duo. Hit the CAGM barbarian with some spell (I think it was a critical harm spell or something like that) that dropped him to 1 hp so that he couldn't drop out of rage or he'd die. Unfortunately, he was also Superstitious so he would save against every heal spell they threw at him with his massive Will save. So the summoner reluctantly dismissed his eidolon and starting summoning tons of azatas to cast a handful of heal spells on him each round, hoping he would nat 1 against some of them (he needed to heal about 40 hp so he could drop out of rage without dying). Meanwhile the rest of the party (now bereft of their two heavy-hitters), had to keep struggling to take out the caster. Eventually they took out the caster but the barbarian had another tense 15 rounds or so of rolling Will saves against the heals until he could drop out of rage. It was late in the module so he was at risk of running out of rage at that point and would have died if he hadn't healed enough. He pulled through but that made them pause, haha.

Lol, I was about to respond with the same thing about your characters. Almost all are pretty tough.
And yeah, I'm almost at 250 tables and I've noticed that as I GM'd more and had a better handle on rules and tactics my games became tougher. Still not as tough as a Bold Strider game, but tougher than I used to be.

I think that all sounds right for me. Since Jaysin is using PP the others shouldn't need to give quite as much as they originally pledged.

Sure will use PP for one of the restorations.
@Jaysin: you can use PP to raise yourself but each spellcasting has to be either PP or gp, you can't mix the two. So I am paying for the raise dead and one restoration with gp and will pay for the second restoration with PP.

I think Sure has enough gold and PP to raise himself but I would really appreciate any help you guys are willing to offer. I've already had to raise his bird Ilivan twice (once without help from the party I think) so I'm a little behind on wealth for my level.

Re: tactics: does anyone have a decent Handle Animal? With a standard action to tell Ilivan to attack you'd have another combatant on your side. If you don't think anyone can make the check I guess it's better not to waste the action though.

As his master drops, a moment of silence descends on the battlefield as Ilivan flaps in midair, staring in disbelief. Then again, he always stares because, you know, he's a bird. Ilivan lets out a horrific screech and goes medieval on the ass of any foe left standing.

Thanks for any help anyone is willing to give. Súrë has already had to raise Ilivan once so he's a bit behind on wealth.
I'm not too upset about it really. It wasn't anyone's fault or due to stupid decisions or whatnot. I just got really unlucky. And like I said, it feels just since I've killed several of Tek's characters, lol.
But of course it is a bit sad because Súrë is a very naïve and child-like character and one of my favorite to play purely for the RP that comes along with him. After the fight if we have time to get him raised (we are in a decent-sized city at least), I'll try to write up something good about his experience.

Since Velidor and Jaysin are the only two before Sure and neither of them had the ability to heal him, Sure will have to roll to stabilize I guess.
"Yaaa-uugghhhhhh!" Sure drops to the ground, near death.

While the party figures out how the stone works and which direction to go, Sure teaches his bird Ilivan how to wink. As the party walks down the street, Ilivan begins cawing and winking at passersby while Sure tosses his feather boa back and forth, making catcalls at any lady he sees.

I couldn't effectively drop Wis as a druid but I did put Int down to 10 even though sylphs usually get +2. In retrospect I should have made Cha a little higher. I'm more just emphasizing the "airheadedness" aspect of being related to air elementals.

Well his KN (nature) is slightly better but no one tried to talk him out of it, so:

Joining Obyrn is a slyph wearing an elaborate outfit covered in feathers. Stalking behind him is a bird as large as any man. The slyph's hair is streaked with white and blue and his eyes have a faraway vacant look, as if he is not quite seeing his immediate surroundings. "Oh hello! My name is Súrë (soo-ra). This is my pet bird Ilivan. Do you like bugs? I have a beetle collection you might be interested in...."

Ah, ok. Yeah, it was a variant mummy so it won't prevent fatigue in all circumstances. It's still a handy utility to have around and I have a couple characters who have wands and scrolls of it. It's too bad it doesn't get rid of it once you have it though but if you've got a wand just preemptively use it at the beginning of every scenario.

Not fatigue from mummies or things other than environmental causes though, which is what I thought you were implying. In fact, not even all environmental causes; it doesn't prevent fatigue from altitude sickness, for example. Restoration is really the only way that I know of to get rid of fatigue from any source.
