No worries, I'd be pretty bummed out at dropping about half the players so early on.
And there's little worse than feeling you have to continue a game when you're not feeling it.

Simile follows, darkness doesn't bother her in the slightest.
"I'm afraid I can't do anything about the mist. I may be able to force his friendship - though I expect if he's some sort of wizard he'll have defences against such a ploy."
Similie adjusts her skin density as she approaches the rock man. "Excuse me, could you perhaps inform us as to what's going on here."
Simile looks at the fight and then at Hypatia "Um, do you think we should help one of them, or maybe try and break this up?"
Simile glances over at Hypatia, "Well, since you did say please." and takes a step towards the woman.
Simile genuinely wants to help people, though she's not entirely convinced the League is the best way to do that. Particularly as forces behind them have shown themselves to be... untrustworthy.

As the man starts clapping Simile studies his face and build, making mental notes in case he proves notable so she can impersonate him later. When Templar and the man start their altercation, she glances around and if no-one is looking, shifts back to her 'Simile' form, while reinforcing her body structure
"I'm not a hacker, but I can use a computer, I may be able to infiltrate the museum or the police station personally - though if I am caught I'm not going to fight the police to escape."
"It would seem the question is - do we divide and try and cover all bases, or use our joined resources to increase success on target?"
Hypatia: Simile replies in Hypatia's head. Are you... no never mind. I doubt I'm much better than you, I've never mastered animals or objects... but friends are good.
"Sounds like a plan, we can keep an eye out for general mayhem they're causing anyway."
"Well, I see now why they weren't too concerned to give us time off our sentance, sooner or later one of these will get the drop on us and it'll cost at least some of our lives." Simile sighs. She smiles down at Hypatia "Sure, lets be roomies!" "I vote we try and target those likely to cause more chaos. If we don't walk free at the end of this I'd like to think we did something meaningful before they get the better of us."
"Well, there's a lot more to do here than I thought. Are we doubling up on rooms? Might draw less attention than renting half the motel?"
'Emily' climbs into the van. "Ummm, shouldn't you try and blend in a bit more, while I can dig the nature asthetic, it'll make you memorable." "Maybe just find a cheap hotel, or motel or something, until we get our bearings. Don't want to set up anything semi-permanent until we know where our targets have fled to."
"So, did you say you can er? Summon a car?" 'Emily' asks timidly.
Simile's features shift, her body becoming less statuesque, hair fades to brown from the brilliant platinum it was before and her clothes shift to a simple T-shirt and jeans combo. "Thought I'd slip into something that doesn't stand out as much. I suppose you can't call me Simile if we're under cover. How about you call me Emily for now."
"I suppose we had better get to work. Assuming the deal is legitimate, I'd rather start working off my sentence as soon as possible.
Simile doesn't bother getting changed either, prison-clothes don't bother her.
"She doesn't need to trust us. Lobotomy remember..." Simile steps out into the cold with a shiver.
Simile considers making a comment that both teams are using the same tactics, but decides against it for now. "We heard a lock down protocol... Pale Rider and evidently allies of the one known as Rat enacted a rescue. Rat, claims he has been feeding the prisoners her quantities of his blood, which is both addictive and he can return it to himself, violently. Assuming his demonstration was not just showmanship.
He also removed the safeguards from the secure units, we observed three of them escaping, I assume you do not need an observation of their abilities?"
Simile has few possessions, none of which she has here. She does however have someone to say goodbye to. Spoiler:
Simile looks around for Daniel, returning to the last place she saw him, but when she sees him she realises she doesn't know what to do. She's spent years pretending, had friendships as part of a cover, but never really settled into any sort of relationship. In a moment possible scenario's flash through her mind... Give a rousing speech to keep his morale up... Kiss him with a passion, to make him remember... sneak away, forget saying goodbye... In the end, she just calls out. "I have to leave. I've been recruited to stop something bad." before backing away and running towards her "freedom". Simile returns, a little out of breath, only a couple of minutes after she left.
Simile blinks once "Yes"
Simile drops down to one knee, her arm across her chest. In a gesture of subserviance.
"As I mentioned before, I could get myself out, maybe I could get another person out, but while I can understand running, that just leaves you at the mercy of Rat, with no support.
Simile actually thinks she's just tired of running and hiding, but that's hardly a great justification. checks:
Simile watches the others go. "Well, guess I'm staying then." She looks around at the others, "Well, they call me Simile, or they did. I guess I'm now just 1547. I wonder what's going on out there?"
Inclined to stay with the wounded. But if it makes things easier to run will go with the other group.
Its not necessarily even good vs evil. By staying we have no guarantee of freedom, realistically the most likely outcome is that we are all rounded up and put in higher security prison to ensure this doesn't happen again. As I mentioned, Simile would be of two minds as to whether to go or not, she doesn't sympathise with Rat and his methods, but being at the mercy of power suppressing implants and implications of what happens if you try and remove them is scarcely any better in her mind. Not that she has solutions for anything better.
Should we divide up a bit more? Simile could change her mind, though she is an idealist and would view working for Rat as way of working against him from within, rather than truly join his cause.
"I can get out, I might be able to carry someone light. I have to agree though, we are better sitting tight here." Or could I still go with king Rat? the offer is tempting...
Simile, aside from a gasp at the pain from the scream remains quiet, she has no sympathy for Rat, or whatever he's called. She could join him, and find some way to strike at him from within his organisation, or she could remain here and find some way to expel the corruption within herself and try and fight him from the outside. The man in the cowboy hat brings her back into focus. There are people to help here and now, and if whomever was in the boxes are enough to scare Rat's men, many of the prisoners here may be defenceless against them. She moves to aid the man in the hat, treating the wounded speaking softly but clearly "How can I help?", as she keeps glancing nervously over at the other 'boxes'.
It's certainly odd having a game where you only know 20% of what's going on or who's involved. Also as someone who in RL games tends to fill out the party (i.e. I'm happy to play anything so fill out what roles seem to be missing). So not knowing whether we're a rounded or focussed group, it's a bit odd.
Simile: "Any time, provided work-detail isn't a cover for my execution" Simile smiles to ensure he knows she's joking. She'll head out towards the basketball court, see what's going on.
Simile: Simile doesn't know how to react and sits a little stunned for a moment. Ending a life is not to be taken lightly, but it sounded like it was both accidental and in self-defence. Punishment with near as well lifelong incarceration seemed harsh. The words seem hollow, but she tries to reassure him. "I don't pretend to understand how you feel. Ending a life can do things to a person, even if when it is accidental, or in self-defence. But if you must spend your life confined, I've seen far worse cages. "You're not a bad person." Simile tries to think of something further to say, but after a moment gives up and sits there, waiting for him.
Prison: Simile keeps herself occupied, despite her natural inclination to pick things up, she had never had the opportunity to actually go through the human education system. She will study a few shorter courses, including the one on consent. Humanity has different social expectations and it is a situation she has attempted to avoid. A world in which shapeshifting, mind-reading and outright mental or physical manipulation exists can make the subject difficult, even with the best of intentions. She maintains her 'heroic' form, she's tested in privacy whether she can still change shape (and that the suit/implant doesn't block it), but isn't sure when, if ever she'll encounter other inmates out of the facility, so prefers to keep her talents a secret from them. She maintains a friendship with Dameon, an unfortunate who's power manifests in continuous growth of quills from his back and arms. These quills start as needles and within a week or so grow to knife-like protrusions, and continue to grow while attached to him. Simile has aided him in keeping them 'plucked' before they get too big. Which is a mildly painful procedure for him, similar to extracting a splinter. She also enjoys his company - they spend time playing games and listening to music and he enjoys spending time with someone who doesn't get disturbed by his body. Aside from the obvious physical aspect of his, they never discuss powers, Simile is unaware of any further abilities he may have.
