Romulus sets off in search of the golem...

anyone in Kuros looking for the source of the screams?

Romulus gives you a long look... I...I've never had a problem with my workers before... but I guess I should.. he almost seems embarrassed that he ignored you earlier...

Engineer / Gearmage

Okay cool!" the young man chirps happily and consults a gear filled device, then points east. Surge! Travel and execute the primary directive Romulus orders.

the creature begins to stride towards the town...

Meia Coupla.

Romulus smiles at HRMS-XI, "Of course." and puts the last touches on his conglomeration of metal.

The creation is a conglomeration of This, This, This, and This

Unsteadily the medical creation rises on its long but sturdy legs and awaits its orders

Engineer / Gearmage

I'm an engineer... Your robot is the ninja :p

Engineer / Gearmage

No, captain wombat is on hiatus, which means he fades to background character. The hammershaft will likely be stored in orbit after its done being used in this scene

Engineer / Gearmage

Hermes :D I'm waiting for you :D

Engineer / Gearmage

Romulus looks at you as if you are speaking in a manner he does not understand anything that you said... returning to work on the conglomeration of medical parts, shooting you an odd glance every so often...

The head of the construct seems to twitch and its geared eyes begin to glow as the cogs begin to move... steam coming out of the top of the boiler

"I think he's waking up." Romulus smiles

"I will assist with your request. However, I should advise you that I have observed[pause] one thousand, five hundred and sixty three inefficiencies in this design."

Hermes taps a few things on his nauseatingly colorful datapad and a cargo arm comes down and picks up the boiler, moving it towards the torso.

Romulus takes the welder and begins to secure the boiler to the side of the machine, "I don't know about that, because... He'll work" Romulus smiles, seemingly perfectly at ease around the metal ninja, after he has put the boiler into place, he begins to attach the stunning array of tubing and needles, along with the hydraulic arms to the side of the creation.

mid-welding Romulus looks at you curiously "how do you run without being wound, or have a steam engine?" he inquires

If your saying all he's going to do is brake the ship then not a lot Carl can do about it other then throw him off as soon as he sees how stupid Romulus is. Which will be very fast if he takes a blow touch to the Power core. I thought you where playing him as smarter then that. And this IS Carl trying to help. They and he don't have to skills to make the medical bay. SO lets see how you get on with a real brain box.

Carl gets a bit worried by what this little chap seems to be doing, he takes the Tablet that Hermes gave him and gives Tinman a call.

"Hermes ye there Tinman, I been helping out the town with medical stuff, you know them bits in the crates. Well I meet this wee chap and he thinks he has an idea to fix them up into bays like. But he's just about to take a blow Torch to the Elemental reactor. Would ya mind porting over and seeing if hes about to blow us all up, cus I am a bit worried, thanks"

Romulus has created a boiler of some sort, and is currently filling it with water, his creation is starting to take shape as well.

the creation is apparently a torso-like piece of metal with a lot of tubing attached to it. Another segment has taken the reorienting mechanical servo arms of a large bed-like creation and attached them to a lot of cabling.

No, I'm not going to destroy your ship, I'm just saying that Romulus' creation skills are marvelous, but he doesn't seem to understand that most of what he has disassembled was in mostly working order.

Engineer / Gearmage

Carl, don't you have to help with the rebuilding of the hospital? ;)

Romulus is taking hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical equipment and breaking them down for parts to be used in a clockwork and magic imbued substitute. His simultaneous genius and stupidity would be astounding from another person's viewpoint

Carl comes on with mugs of tea,
"here ya go..Romulus. Drink that it will make ya feel better"
The tea is as strong as gravy and very sweet.

"Main power core is an elemental reactor, linked to a number of elemental planes. Then there are battery's over there a nuclear decay engen, that ones a H3 fusion core and that one over there I have no idea, some sort of clockwork life support thing, just in case all the others fail. Be honest I may have misses a few, star ship buildings not really me thing"

He kicks a think on the wall and lights come on.

"so what ya think, any thing of use in them medical box's?

Romulus takes a long pull on the drink and smacks his lips appreciatively...

"To be honest, I have no idea how this stuff is supposed to work... its just not possible, I mean they have the right motors and stuff, but I mean... they have nothing that makes them move..." Romulus says as he nudges a bunch of syringes.

I mean... these things were broken pretty ba... Romulus looks down, then at the elemental reactor, and then back down. CarlIjusthadanIdea, Ineedtohookupthe reactortoaboiler. GetmeaWelder. Romulus seems to have had an explosion of inginuity go off inside that human head of his, and is now flitting around and grabbing all sorts of parts and putting them into a pile in the workshop, there are quite honestly an alarming number of hoses, needles, and gears.

and if anyone can guess what idea he just had... please don't say it :D

Engineer / Gearmage

"Romulus" he says distractedly as he opens the boxes and crates of medical supplies, confused by the complexities of the machines within. The high level of technology is far too complex, with its electronic powered equipment, and motherboard driven command systems...

looking in the tool room, he takes only the simplest of tools, like wrenches, spanners, cutters, hammers, pliers and other similar things. He begins to take spare metals and create gears and pistons so that he can do things the way that makes sense to his specialized form of crafting.

In the power room Romulus looks confusedly at the generator, which just sits there... no moving gears or anything....

How does this....stuff work?

Carl looks over you and your bike, then brings up his arm, on it is one of his arm bands. they look odd, hard to read what kind of devices they are. He taps it a few times.

"Its..."

There is a shifting feeling then, the town is gone and your in the hold of a ship. Well hold is a nice way to put it. Who ever designed this hold had a think for military type Bunkers. The walls are massively solid. All plating, rivets and ships systems, back up ships systems, back ups to the back up and then some more back ups just in case. There is mining kit on racks, and Can of rock. This is a work space. The only odd thing is a half eaten cake off to one side and what looks to be used party hats and streamer. Carl points to a door,

"That's the tool shop in there. and that door."

He points to another door the a a pile of boxs in the bay area.

"Power room over there, and that rack there has the Medical stuff on it"

12 boxs with a medical symbol on them sit there.

"Ill ya have a look ill got get us a drink and eat, ya like coffee?"

He heads up some steps, a sign above says flight deck, then he stops and looks round.

"buy the way never got ya name laddy. Me names Carl Ironfist of from the Prometheus clan, nice ta meet ya."

"Ohmygodthisplaceisamazingan...oh I don't feel good" Romulus proceeds to throw up on the floor

What is this place, How did we get here? he asks curiously after retching all over the floor

He doesn't seem too offput by the fact he just threw up or is in a new place, but he looks to be extremely curious.

Romulus wanders over to the medical crates and looks into the power room, and into the tool shop. Face lighting up like a dwarven child with a pint of lager and a plate of hardy potatoes

"Handy thing that. Right then, well see laddy the main hospital here in town was damaged in the chaos. So the warehouse behind me is being made into a temporary one. Now I have on me ship carats of old medical stuff. Me and Arthur picked it up as part payment in a deal. Scarp I thought, but I think I have enough parts in them crates to make three full auto medical bays. Their magic is depleted so we need to find power, and some parts are broken. I need you to have a look at the parts in the crates, build the bays if you can. I have a full tool shop on the Hammershift, take what ever ya need, then once we have a pay made ill teleport it here for the medics. What ya say"

Wile you think he turns to one of the medics and emplanes what he has in mind. Then Carl looks back to you, waiting to see what you say.

Romulus becomes still, focusing entirely upon you. That, I probably can do. he smiles and then looks around...

So....where's your ship? I need to see what parts you have before I can make any promises or anything...

He puts his hands down

"Bad news is right now, no ones there, they came here to help. See a few hours ago this place was hell on earth. Real bad, some cutter had but a hex on the place and every one local went demon. Lot hurt and a few died."

He looks looks around

"I tell ya what laddy, I could really use ya help for a wile. Things to bring and stuff to fix here, all really urgent. How about ya give me a hand for a wile and after Ill take ya to the factory's. What ya say?"

C60, Go to the factory and wait for a "Jiminy Sunwake"

*Whirrrrrrrr....Clickk Hissss* the helicopter creation's complex system of gears and blades, rotors and pistons propels the device seems to go into overdrive as it takes off at high speed to find the factory, and hopefully the one known as 'Jiminy Sunwake'

I don't know how to help... he says quietly... but you could tell me? he says hopefully

Carl stops and looks at Romulus as he gushes out words like bullets.

When he's done Carl slowly takes his unlit cigar out of his mouth, looks over the things in the bike over then smiles and says.

"I din-nee got a word of that Laddy. How about ye say all again, but this time try breath-in between ya worlds."

Behind Carl the townsfolk are are carrying the box's into he building.

"I'm looking for a job in this town." he says, fast, but actually comprehendable, "I need to find a factory. I was sent here from Lemuria."

You can almost see him mentally aligning every word and sentence before he says them aloud.

Romulus can't seem to hold still, as if he is filled with enough energy to power a dozen people... he has produced a bunch of wires and gears, and is currently fiddling with them, not really making anything, but just twisting the wire, or weaving it through the gears, and making a little crank to turn them. He seems to crackle with excitement, but seems uncomfortable with talking...

Engineer / Gearmage

"Oh, yeah, my hoverbike is a.... Romulus starts to talk excitedly, but stops awkwardly as Carl walks away, feeling self conscious, from the unhelpfulness of the overseer, and pops open the seat of his vehicle.

Inside of the storage compartment is a wide assortment of different pieces of machinery, gears, pistons, compressors, filters, belts, wheels, cogs, nuts, bolts... all sorts of random junk. Taking hold of a softball sized orb of brass, Romulus cranks a small handle, and a faint whirring comes from inside of it, after being wound, has the top half click open and bounce upwards, revealing a large amount of clockwork and a helicopter-esque set of rotors to sprout from the top. Floating jauntily just above Romulus' standout hairdo it awaits instruction.

As Carl comes back Romulus quickly tries to ask him a question, IheardthatthereisanindustryherethatbuildscomplexmachineryandneedsemployeesI wanttoapplyforajobatonebutIdontknowwhereanyareatIwassentherebymyteacher, Thorg ,becauseheknewawomanwhoworkedforhimonceandhesaidIhadtalentlikeshedidbutIcan 'trememberwhathernamewas!

Carl probably gets the feelings that Romulus is both extremely nervous, excited, and that he only stopped the sentences there because he ran out of breath...

And If you can understand anything but "Thorg" you have freakin superpowers :D

Engineer / Gearmage

A vehicle of sorts is driving towards Kuros, its Hover-Engine and the design in general, is rather antiquated, but is unlike any other engine that has been seen, its rider having created it out of a template that only he can imagine, its antigravitational drive is powered by clockwork. The brass and copper construction is regulated by a crank mounted in the handlebars. The rider of the bike is a human of adolescent age, his rebellious blue hair spiked up over his heavily tinted goggles.

The bike begins to slow as he spots the construction work that is going on, He had been told that the city was supposed to be industrious, but the remnants of burnt building was not a good sign.

Though most hoverbikes are very quiet, Romulus' creation is completely silent except for the pushing of pistons and the ticking of the unique engine that powered the vehicle. Bringing the vehicle to a complete stop near one of the dwarves that is overseeing a repair crew, Romulus dismounts, and walks over to the Overseer.

"Hello, ummm... Two things, if you have a moment.... ummm.... What happened here, and uhhh... where is the ummmm.... I can't recall what its called, but its a... uhh... engineering... place"

Despite his rebellious appearance, and outfit of sturdy leather, Romulus is still in a definite awkward phase, only truly comfortable doing something he knows how to do.... and talking to people is certainly not one of those things.

Would Jiminy employ a talented youngster who has a knack for putting together machines with the capabilities to build/lift/manipulate other machines?

Its a character I was thinking about making for a while, but I wanted to talk with Arthur Barren before so that I made sure I wouldn't be stepping on his toes :D
