Rodric stretches for a moment after dismounting Fortune, swinging his arms in circles to loosen up. Leaving his sword sheathed he unstraps the shield from it's place on the mount's saddle and hefts it easily. He then follows behind Mikmek and Littlefang, leading his companions.
I apologize for my absence. I was out of town for the 4th, and super busy catching up at work yesterday.
Rodric sits down with his new, dear friends. He pulls out his fiddle, and plucking a couple of strings to check the tuning he starts playing a simple song.

The handsome cavalier stands back up and looks at his companions, "Sing along if you've heard this one." Tapping his foot in time, he continues. "Said the King I wish to know your name, but the knight said do not bother.

Well the knight he spends many hour behind the castle wall.
He finishes the last lines with a flourish and a wide grin. "Anyone know any other tunes? I'll be glad to play and sing some more!"

"I have heard of Worgs before, but until now I had never seen one. They are truly massive. If you were able to strike an alliance Hella, I could only see that as a boon for us." Rodric, still astride his horse, strokes his hair back lackadaisically, and stows his lance for the time being.
Rodric draws his lance, and couches it under his arm, ready to charge any of the fearsome wolves that move in to attack. "Hold together! Our strength lies in our numbers, don't let them try to seperate you. Arilyth, if you can, bolster our strength with your song!"

Rodric climbs atop his mount, Fortune, and pats the horse's neck while whispering something in his ear. It is plain to see that the Cavalier is glad to be back atop the horse. "Hella, if need be, I'm happy to take turns with Mikmek there. Let me know if it becomes uncomfortable." Rodric turns his powerful horse effortlessly, and walks around the camp checking to see if everyone is ready.
"I'll stay up and take watch with you Hella." Rodric draws an oiled cloth and sets to cleaning his blade.
Hide behind me all you need my frail elven friend. When it comes time, just pass a couple "enlarge persons" my way.
Rodric shoots his upper body upward, bending at the waist trying to quickly regain his footing.
Once he is standing back up, the cavalier bellows a loud challenge to the foul insect. "Your end has come, vile worm!" With the shout, Rodric drops his shield and places both hands on his sword, swinging in a heavy overhand chop.
Rodric smashes his sword on his shield as the insect climbs, trying to make enough noise to distract the centipede. It doesn't work, and the beast's focus is still squarely on Cerian when Rodric slices out with his longsword, trying with all his might to bury the blade deep into the bugger's carapace.
Standing over the most recently slain mite, Rodric steadies his breathing and adjusts his grip on his sword. "Let's be done with these nasty creatures, and soon. I'm looking forward to some more of Svetlana's stew when we return to Oleg's."

Once again Rodric slices out at the mite in front of him, hoping to cut him down in one heavy swing.
Rodric groans from the accumulated hits. As Hella casts her curative magic, the Cavalier looks over at her:"Thank you for that, Hella! Much appreciated." Feeling rejuvenated instantly, Rodric re-strengthens his grip on the slender longsword in his hand and swings in a wide slashing arc.

Rodric reaches over to take a spear from Hella with a grateful nod. "Let's see what we can do with this!" The Cavalier throws it at the nearest mite.

"Well, it was damned effective that time Nedyr. Thanks." Rodric adjusts the straps of his armor to refit and levels his sword at the tunnel ahead. "If we're ready, let's advance."
Everything happened in the blink of an eye to Rodric. "I'm not getting old, but I was....so slow. Get it together Rodric." He thinks to himself. Rodric looks at his companions, and says quietly,"Well done, friends. Let's quickly search the room. Master Cerian, if you will, quietly guard the tunnel forward."
Out of curiosity GM, how close are we to leveling up?
Rodric nods at Hella's warning, and then he slams the hilt of his sword against his shield and yells: "Your trap is of no use, filthy buggers! We see you! Now come and fight me!"
With as patient as this group has been regarding my own spotty posting record, I feel you have nothing to worry about Cerian. That sounds like a lot of fun though, so have a good time!

Rodric positions himself at the rear of the group, in hopes that he won't jeopardize the stealthier of his companions. Repositioning his grip on his shield arm, Rodric nods silently to the group, indicating his readiness to advance.
The large man stumbles as he avoids the low ceiling, causing a clattering of his chainmail.
we should try and get a one off session on roll 20 at some point. We could do a google hangout or something like that too. It'd be kind of fun to play with you all in a "real" game.

Rodric stands firm against the aggressive Mites. Recovering quickly from his missed opportunity he brings his sword down in a heavy one handed chop aimed for the Mite in front of him.
The Mite dances out of the swings arc, managing to avoid the blow.
Knowing his inability to move quietly, and the fact that his voice will carry in these tight halls, Rodric prepares himself for another greeting party. Seeing his companions move to ambush positions, Rodric sets himself forward in the room as bait, and waits for the attacker's approach.
Lol. Rodric's comment was meant to be a whisper(I obviously ommitted that part by accident), but with that stealth roll, I think it's safe to say that Rodric spit the bit on this one...sorry?
yeah, given that that is the case now, I may have to change the build I had planned. I was definitely going to focus on mounted combat, but that was when I knew we had others that could cover when I wouldn't be able to be on a mount. I'll have to consider what to do now.
