Rama gives voice to his concern, "You think the villagers ran to the hills?"
Rama tries his best not to throw up his lunch. He is clearly not used to water voyages.
On board the ship, Rama prays before the ship goes underway. He realizes that he needs the blessing of the gods, wearing as he is heavy plate mail. He never learned how to swim.
Sorry for the very late post.
To avoid any doubt, Rama accepts without much prodding the quest laid before him by Baelinor. He thanks Baelinor for his willingness to extend his mighty hand in friendship with the Pharaoh and his nation.
"Thank you," Rama graciously accepts the offer.
Valegrim wrote: With the ropes and pitons and a lot of time the elf and dwarf, working together surpizingly well; begin to accend the tunnel.
Rama do you also equip and follow?
Note; earth spells do not affect ice.
Yes.

For Val, in case this needs a climb check
VALEGRIM wrote: "Ah perhaps I have been gone too long, twas not many years ago by dwarven standards, did I vie for the right to be called a paladin myself in the very city from whence you come. I still have quite a few fond memories of my time there, I would hope the story of the crazy dwarf still makes an appearance every so often." He smiles at you then looks out into the group as the elf steps forward. It does, milord. Though I am surprised that the story originated from you.
"Lord Baelinor, I accept your blessing in the same spirit that it is given."
Rama accompanies Baelinor to the barber.
"What would you know of my homeland, lord?"
Quite a number of posts to reply to; I'm leaving the office; Will post back in a few hours.
"Greetings to you as well, Lord Baelinor. I come to deliver gifts from my liege and lord, the representative of Osiris on this earth, the Pharaoh. And to ask a boon, if you find our humble offerings satisfactory."

still; this is just an option; what do you do?
Rama is very careful where he steps (aka I am taking twenty on this one). He thinks falling off the pyramid would be one way of turning off Baelinor, besides not being very conducive to his health.
Almost midnight; will go to bed in a few minutes.
Rama walk with as much regal grace he could muster. He looks for Baelinor, servant of Seker, all the while thinking of a proper greeting to the dwarf whom the great pharaoh wants to speak to.
Val, it's almost midnight here. I'll follow up in 8 hours.

Sense Motive (1d20+10=19)
"I bring gifts for Baelinor."
"The blessing of the gods be upon you. I am Rama. To whom do I speak." Rama addresses the vikings.
Rama wakes his immediate companions. "The Ur-Vile has given as a great clue to obtain the favor of priest Balinor. Let us be ready to meet him at the top of the Pyramid at first light."
Rama directs his aides to ready his chariot with a small bodyguard with the rest of the train to follow as swiftly as it can.
Seker is a god of light; hence first light is obviously the oppotune time to invoke the signs that our meeting with Balinor is favored by his god.

Valegrim wrote: Rama, with you goes the priestess; the warrior woman; and three guards; several more guards follow; but stop every few feet on each side to make a path to and from the main Egyptian group to the dinner pavillion. Those with you assume your good will; they bring forth from the Egyption delegation many food and things for you to share as well creating a meal of larger size and wealth; At the pavillion; people shift; several who were once there leave; a place presumably of honor is given you at the table; only the fierce warrior (Mits) is between you and the old man on your right; the Priestess of Isis is on your left and the warrior woman behind both of you as well as your two guards. You hear some at the table mention that this is not a womans table; but the elderly man, they refer to as Shiri-san, (I dont remember the correct ending; san isnt it though as he is higher rank then them)and he says to be silent as she is abviously a noble or perhaps your wife and customs vary between people; they obviously do not wish to anger you or cause insult; and all appear sincerly appologetic.
as both your party and the Blestian begin to bring forth food and drink; a guard approaches with what appears to be elfs; elves are very uncommon in both Lenap (Eygpt) and Blest (Japan) and none of you have before seen one up close; but thoughts and stories of powerful magic, passion and fighting prowess come back to you about these one time masters of the entire world. The guard with them; tells the Headman that these elves offer no hostility; and ask to be guests and share food and shelter for the night; he appears very nervous and intimidated and his words tumble. The headman appears thoughtful and worried; whispers to himself; "bend like a blade of grass to the movement of powers greater than yourself; or be broken like the branches of an old tree during a storm; and what a storm that is coming"
he looks at you Rama; his expression blank or perhaps strained. He nods to the guard then addressed the Elves in Blestian; to our table and for a nights shelter you are welcome; come join us <a place at the table is made for the two pc elves> During this moment the Priestess of Isis does pray; she touches the neckpiece of Rama; and everyone withing 60 ft including the Elves during that prior comment; can now converse freely and be understood; each of you to some degree of your sensitiviy to magic; feel the power of her goddess wash over you for this small miracle.
Rama smiles and greets everyone. I takes care to chat a bit with those who appear to be of consequence.

What would you have of us Ur-Vile? Is the Staff of Law threatend?" her tone is imperious. Rama, it would be appropriate to think she is more than just some random, unimportant priestess; none would ever speak in such a tone of absolute authority expecting to be obeyed.
Ur-Vile? This is the first time I have heard of them.
"Milady, I stand ready to protect the Staff of Law."
I'll update later; Just arrived in the office and gotta work first.
Rama returns the bow of the headman but not as low. "Greetings to you and your house, headman. I am Rama, emissary of the Deific Pharaoh. By what name do you wish to be called?"
After getting the headman's name, Rama continues, "We understand your situation and not here to impose upon your hospiltality. We seek knowledge and enlightenment. What can you tell us about the ice pyramid and Balinor, the priest of seker who lives there?"
Rama summons one of his aides and his honor guard. They will proceed to meet with the village headman.
Valegrim wrote: Rama; I do not understand this comment; is it directed at her or self reflection; not sure what you mean; could you add a few details of who is speaking to whom please?
Perhaps it was a flirt; I am not sure; let me know

Rama directs the comment to the lady, though it is clear he is jesting.

(Priestess's of Isis are known for thier skills in love and magic, and offer themselves to anyone at temple in service to their diety.)
Rama; will you accept her loan?
"Your generosity is most welcome, um, Lady...?"
Assuming she answers the question.
"Lady, rest assured that I will take care of this holy neckpiece. I shall endeavor to return the favor." Rama smiles more sweetly than he would have for any other person.
Rama then nods to his honor guard and motion for them to accompany to the village so that he may present himself.

Valegrim wrote: who will you ask for this information; considering the ice pyramid that he stays in is right next to the these greek hippies; that might be good; also; scouts report that there is some kind of village ahead on the left not far of some humans of culture and nationality they are not familiar with; they wear silks of wild colors and prints; tend to be short with yellowish skin and almond shaped eyes; also far ranging scouts report that there are about 50 armored figures in metal armors and furs; fierce looking; reputed to be Vikings at the base of the ice pyramid.
who will you seek for this information?
"The people at this next village might have information on Balinor." Rama tells the scouts to identify the village headman so that diplomatic relations will go smooth once the main column arrives. The scouts are also to find out all information they can on the people of the village.
Upon arriving at the outskirts of the village, Rama calls a halt to the column's march and goes on ahead to meet with the headman.
In order to achieve, Rama considers the proper sequence for the giving of the gifts. Seker abhors undead perhaps this Balinor has the hate. But why would he leave the service of the priesthood? What can be more important than service to the gods?
Rama concludes, "I need for information on this Balinor."
Signing off. Gotta sleep.

You may put a stop to it, encourage or allow it as you wish.
there appears to be not threat to the column; no one here appears to have any weapons or magic and no wild or dangerous beast appear.
Rama waves back to the hippies. Praying that the rest of his mission is equally as easy.

Valegrim wrote: Rama,
you will travel through the Egyptian area with much pagentry; then through the greek hippie area; see previous posts for description; some line up and watch your guys go by; many offer you and yours wreaths of flowers and drink and invite you to rest with them during the hot of the day; your column has already moved into a much wetter area of denser undergrowth and there are small trails here and much muck; the column will not stay together well moving through the jungle; I would imagine you probably have some trail breakers out chopping down foliage clearing a path as that would be typical; hence movement is slow though you do not have far to travel. You will be traveling though the greek hippie area for the next five hours and your trailblazer will constantly come upon couple or small groups having some touch ahem; in the bushes.
do you ignore the invites in this area and continue on; stop with them and visit and keep the column going; or do what?
Ever the diplomat, Rama declines the invites with as much tact as he can muster. "Thank you for your invitation and we are honored but our duty compel us to postpone this to another day. But do not worry for is it not said that wine is sweeter with age? We appreciate your forebearance very much."
Spot (1d20+2=9)
Too preoccupied with mollifying the feeling of the greek hippie guys, Rama fails notice the lightly armored fellows.

This is a Most Royal Decree; any number, lets say no more than 500; a show of strength befitting a Hero, but not a worrisome invasion. 500 moving through this area will take half a day to assemble; half a day to move as there are paths; you will arrive just as the sun sets if all goes well with no delays. You are supported by your slaves as well as high places slaves and servants of the court and various other ministers; everyone is cheerful to help and in good spirits offering blessings and fortune on your quest. Most things appear to present themselves in good order as if this was planned in advance and all was made ready; only a leader and reprentative need be chosen; more examples of the beneficial and powerful rule of Pharoah. You are at +2 to all social skill roles while acting under his blessing and following his royal decree.
Who is first in the train; who is last and where will you be in the column?
Rama will be at the head of the column though he will have sent double scouts ahead, the flanks and the rear to prevent the caravan from being taken unawares.

Valegrim wrote: Rama,
Pharoah seeks to meet the unusual dwarf called Balinor, one time priest of Seker; and hear his council; With some upperlevel political manuevering; you are chosen and you are dispatched with gifts to invite him to dine with Phaoroh three days hence; you are asked to see if you can get a invitation to stay with Balinor for the two days prior then return and give an estimation of this odd individual just after sunrise three days hence where you will tell the Diefic Pharaoh all that you know of his goals, strengths, weaknesses and attitudes.
It is you choice how you will arrange the gifts; and present yourself; the gifts are standard herbs; oils, art, music, rare foods and the like; you could easily take two days to present these gifts as you know some of the food items take many hours to prepare and the dancers and music can takes some hours to preform. If you feel you need anything or anyone specific; you know your orders of the Pharoahs decree will gain you most anything you might need to get your task accomplished.
Rama accepts the duty imposed upon him by the Deific Pharaoh. He assembles his chariot team and informs them that they will be travelling to deliver gifts to the worthy servant of Seker, Lord Balinor. "Men, what you do today shall echo in eternity."
Thereafter, Rama consults the map keepers in order for him chart the fastest route to Balinor's abode.
After that, Rama checks on the gifts. Judging from the description, the same will necessitate quite a number packmen. Moreover, Rama judges that the dancers will need palanquins. All told, Rama judges that a long day of preparation is ahead of him.
How many troops and servants will help Rama in this journey?
Politicking I like it. Do I know where to find this Balinor?

Rama, like all warriors, inspects the tools of his trade. In this case, he inspects his chariot. The carriage itself appears fine but the horse team appear to be listless. Can it be the air, Rama thinks to himself. I'll have to have a word with the driver.
So there are four of us to battle the old ones, ha?

Valegrim, Rama is from land we know as Egypt, from the city of Hamunaptra to be exact. Consistent with his devotion to his deity, he wields a flail rather than a longsword.
The background and rest of the profile is not yet finished. This is just to let you know I'm working on my PC.
