Well as you can tell by the IC post, I am officially dropping out of this game. The reason has nothing to do with any of you players, or you Monkeygod. It is just a combination of RL factors which have made keeping up with my PbP games more difficult.

To all the players: I hope you all have fun and can finally take down Treerazer. Go ahead and spit on his mutilated corpse for me, will ya?

To Monkeygod: Thanks for letting me play Pinky in this game, man. I have always wanted to try that particular combo, and I think it worked out well for the most part. Maybe if I get some more free time, Pinky can pop into the World Serpent Inn, he he.

PS: Now how to level him up to 20th level? Man sooo many ways...

Pinky lounges in the fruit basket, nibbling away at some succulent pears and other tasty fruits. She starts to drowse off, when (for those watching the slumbering pseudodragon) you see a spot on his chest flash a dark purplish color, then fades into the ambient lighting.

The effect on Pinky could not be more dramatic. He leaps into the air as if stung by a bee, muttering to himself in the Draconic tongue. Bits and pieces you all catch are draconic curses, interspersed with bits like "How is that possible...no way...interdimensional space no good...I don't want to leave....WHY ME? Why a Convocation now?"

After a few moments, the muttering subside and everyone hears telepathically. "Well, no easy way to put this but I have to leave now. Wish I could explain further, but suffice it to say I got a summons that it is best NOT to ignore, if one wants to continue breathing that is. So I am saying goodbye to all of you."

He flies over to each one of the party members and salutes each one of them with a wave of his poisoned tail. Finally he alights on Meridian's shoulder for one last time.

Meridian:
"Well, Mer my friend I really HATE to do this to you, leaving you under the protection of these vagabonds, he he. But duty calls. I am sure you understand. Farewell, my friend. Should our paths cross again, we will share a meal and you can regale me with your adventures."

He then flies off to the entrance of the extra dimensional space, and turns one last time.

Goodbye.

He then flies off, fading from view and out of sight.

Please check the OOC thread.

Pinky looks outside the magical abode, noting the position of the sun. "Ya know, the day is still not over yet..."

Actually I was considering dropping out of this game due to work and RL issues, so MG if you need someone to drop out, I can let Lumusi take my place.

Pinky takes one look at the newest party member and his wings flutter in excitement, the pink striations growing more pronounced.

"Hey, stop ragging on my lady...She is with me NOW!" There is a note of infatuation in his telepathic voice.

Yeah, like Kolm says, I am still in this game. Pinky is just watching Meridian trying to wheedle more power from wherevere he can, he he. He is used to this sort of stuff from Mer (and all mages), as they spend most of their time gathering as much power as they can, he he.

Works for me...

@MG...Hmmm OK...how about granting Pinky a breath weapon of some kind? Like keeping with the dragon meme, becoming more of a true dragon. Plus a breath weapon gives him an extra kick in combat.

What do you think?

Hmmm...is this something that needs to be spent right away, or can we hang onto it for future use?

Pinky watches the exchange with a look of seemingly disinterest...but in reality his mind is furiously working overtime.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (9) + 23 = 32

To Meridian: "Well, I guess we could try to track down that altruistic Captain of ours, he he. Do ya think this statue might be cursed or something like that? Maybe it's another trap left for us by ol' Barky. He really is a pain in the..."

Mer:
"Hmmm....either this guy is really well connected, or I have made a mess of myself in the marketplace. Ehh, just between you and me while I do like the buffet thing, I would be a bit...cautious about that statue. Still, what harm could a statue be?"

Mer:
"Hey...uhhh...Mer, what is the big deal about that statue? It's just a statue, right?"

Mer:
"Hey this guy sounds like he has been around the block a few times. He might know something about that demon attack from 'ol Treewaster."

Pinky lounges on Mer's shoulder, eyes half closed. He certainly enjoyed the fresh fruits and would be sorry to leave this city.

Of course Meridian knew this was just an act, and Pinky was as alert and awake as his partner.

Meredian and pinky are (apparently) left in the room with the quasit corpse. Mer looks in derision at the back of the captain. Then to Pinky raiseing an eyerow in a look of annoyance at the captain.

"Well, as we have nothing better to do I wonder if the corpse is worth anything."

Mer wraps the corpse in the bedsheet and puts it in a bag of holding. He then heads out fo browse the marketplace.

Pinky takes his customary spot on Mer's shoulder and enjoys the bright clear day.

Mer:
"Sooo...do ya think Adin is trying to get rid of us, or he just doesn't like us?"

Pinky shakes his head in disgust at the bravado of the Ship captain.

"Riight...did you forget about those elementals who attacked us while at sea...Yeah I thought so...I know they found about us SOMEHOW..."

I am with Adinauf on this as well.

Pinky flies lazily arounf the quasit, watching him idly.

Sense Motive 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (19) + 23 = 42

"Hmmm...it would be kinda cool to have a demonic servant to serve me, bring me fruit whenever I want. That one would be ideal for stealing whatever I wan--"

When Pinky notices the rest of the party staring at him, he blushes slightly. He then addresses the quasit directly.

"Sooo...demon. What other servants of Treeloser could we expect to run into down here?"

Pinky responds via his telepathy to everyone present.

"Mighty forces, eh? As if there were any other kind of forces, he he. Care to be more specific here? I am sure our 'little mortal' still could make life VERY unpleasant for you otherwise."

Diplomacy 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

Pinky will study the quasit for using his Death Attack ability, should it be able to evade his companions.

Actually I think Karsa has dropped as well. (Didn't we have a cute human fighter who called me cute as well...oh well, he he.)

Still here.

Telepathy to all: "Naah I ahve no way of stopping him from 'porting, but if he does stick around and causes trouble, I will find him."

Pinky looks up from wherehe was gorging on some fruit.

Meridian:
"Ehhh...oh ok, sure thing."

He then turns and flies off using his amazing perception to track down the others.

Kolm and Avlar:
"Ok, yer presence is requested by the great and powerful...MER!. Please don't tell him I said that, he is kinda touchy about that stuff, he he."

EDIT: fixed player name typo, he he.

Telepathy to all players:
"Yeah, I am with Mer here. Think we should just be on our merry way then. I would not mind putting some distance between this Inn and ourselves, if you get my drift."

Telepathy, all players:
"Yeah, this ain't good news at all. If Treerazer has access to this kind of magic, no telling what else he has up his sleeve. DAMN, I wish we could have taken her prisoner, she could have filled in a lot of blanks!"

After giving it some thought, and looking at the magus build, I decided not to make any changes to Pinky at this time. While these changes are pretty awesome, I think it does not fit with how i envisioned him.

Should Pinky die at some point, then I can incorporate these changes into his backup character.

Meredian Adriatnaic wrote:

It's not there. Pseudo dragons aren't usually PC's. ;-)

It would be homebrew. Basically it's a metal covering for your tail. I'd say it functions like your tail spike, but does a 1d6. I don't know if the sleep poison woudl work using it. If it's specially made I don't see why not. At this levels I'm not sure how relevant it is.

Ya got me there, he he...I would prolly say it would be a custom made weapon, fitted especially for Pinky.

Hmmm....Let me play with this build, I think I would prolly abandon the ninja class completely and focus on the Bladebound class.

Meredian Adriatnaic wrote:

OMG had an awesome idea. Love the ninja stuff, but think about this

Black blade magus using a tailspike as your black blade.

You'd be a touch attack monster. You can even mix in some levels of monk for AC, but be careful of your BAB.

Have to double check to see if you can combine them, but blackblade (tailspike) Kensi (tailspike) magus would be really impressive. You can even work in the ability to cast mage armor and other protective spells to make up for AC issues.

Hmmm...I couldn't find tail spike in the CRB, but it is a monster weapon. Unfortunately the Blackblade needs to be a slashing weapon...Unless the DM HRs it, he he.

Heh...glancing through the Duelist PrC, I noted their abilities require the duelist to be wielding a melee weapon, which Pinky cannot do. Also according to the role of the duelist, they enjoy the role of thriving in melee. Pinky would just as soon Sneak Attack someone to death.

"Fair play, what is that?" He he.

I am happy just the way I am...:)

Pinky flies off and circles the inn, scanning for anything unusual.

Perception 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34

Telepathy to All.:
"Yeah, I get that...awe-inspiring and all that, but we still don't know for sure he was actually behind it. Should I take a look outside, see if I can spot anything unusual?"

Telepathy to all players:
"Time Magic?? Now I KNOW we definitely made someone's hit list! Only person I know of woould be ol' Treerazer himself. Hell, the guy is practically a demon himself!"

Heh...it does sound like this game has died...Pinky will take a ride on Meridian's shoulder as the dynamic duo fly off into the sunset...

BTW...I hope I am wrong about this. MG, is this game dead?

Telepathy for all players:
"Hey, since these guards have no idea what just happened, you all may want to play dumb here. No need to announce the fact we made Treerazer's hit list to every know nothing guard in this city."

Meridian:
"That did not sound like an idle threat, Mer. Can you tell if the good Captain was cursed or marked in some way?"

Perception 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (10) + 22 = 32

Merididan:
"Ummm...you OK? What is his issue here, why has he just...stopped?"

Pinky thinks, Awww...crap! as he sees the minotaur barrel down on his friend. His tail strikes out reflexively as he goes charging by.

AoO Tail 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18
Damage 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 plus Sudden Strike damage (if applicable) 6d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 6, 2, 3) = 17
Fort save DC 18 or fall asleep. (I know it seems pointless, but he can always roll a 1...)

Sorry a CdG is a melee attack only, plus it is a full round action.

Round 4

So, that winged b**** thinks she is getting away....I don't think so...and if she tries to go etheral again, well have i got a surprise for her...

Pinky tenses and eyes the succubus closely, ready for her to attempt to escape again.

Ready action to fly at the succubus should she go etheral and use Death Attack against her.
Stealth 1d20 + 41 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 41 + 4 = 48 ghostly stealth (1 ki point used)
Spend 1 ki points to go ethereal
Sudden Strike 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
Damage 1d4 + 4 + 6d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (1, 2, 1, 6, 5, 2) = 22
Fort save DC 24 or be Helpless for 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 rounds
Ki Pool 9/11

VA: Pinky can use his DA on the 4th round, after the 3 rounds of study.

Reflex save for no DAM (Evasion) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
BTW, Pinky has SR 19, so the succubus needs to make a CL check here. Probably an easy make for her, but you never know...

Pinky has spent his 3 rounds studying the succubus for his Death Attack.

Pinky thinks to himself, Wow this is one of the most exciting fight I have ever witnessed! I just wish I did not have a front row seat here though...

Round 3 study Succubus for Death Attack.

YES!!!....NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Well, we can always hope her HD get added to her Sorcerer CL, which means she is only a CR 13...much better to handle, he he.

Heh...one way to avoid a TPK is to tell Kolm give up the seeds OR ELSE...another idea is to use the succubus' natural....errr...charms to convince him to surrender the seeds. Still it is your call, MG.
