Campaing tab created to try how to format text, roll dice, etc before starting to play.

Due needing a new character for PFS and seeing lots of melee, blasters and similar builds in my lodge, I'm starting thinking in making a pure support character.

Also I'll like to continue experimenting with different races, classes, fighting styles, etc. I'll try to not repit.

Right now I have those classes; Druid, Oracle, Cleric, Wizard,Swashbuckler, Investigator, Cavalier and Mesmerist. Some of those classes can be decent supports, but I'll prefer to not repeat (expecially with the cleric, who's a support build).

Races I have, from those available for PFS, are Human, Kitsune, Half-elf and Wayang, so there are plenty of options to pick one.

I was thinking in bard, also, I was toying with the idea of a prankster (bard) gnome, it can support and it can be funny to mock the enemies. But not sure how it will perform in combat; once he has inspired and cast a spell, what to do? (If the answers is not shot arrows, better then, because being an archer is not fun for me, and he can obtain a good DPS, thus not beaing really a support). Is and aid another build interesting and workable, even if that means being a halfling by birth or by adoption. Is there another options for support?

Thanks for reading my confused thoughs and for any help you can provide.

You have been called to the Grand Lodge of Absalom for a briefing. Seated in a small chamber around a darkwood table, various trophies gathered from across the face of Golarion hang from the walls. A monkey-shaped mask with a serpent’s tongue glares out from the center of one wall, a strange halberd with gold rings piercing its thick blade and dragons carved along its haft hangs opposite the monkey mask. You are alone save your fellow Pathfinders, who apparently have been called here for the same purpose.

Finally, a huge man wearing creaking leathers marches into the room. He looks at each of you, as if he were appraising a handful of gemstones freshly pulled from the earth, and nods curtly. Some of you know him as Adril Hestram, a longtime Pathfinder and rumored to be the unwitting architect of the famed Katapesh slave riot of 4702. Adril’s physique puts most half-orcs to shame.

Welcome, friends. We have a serious problem. Skelg the Ripper came to Absalom one month ago. Like many Ulfen warriors he joined the Longaxes, the Taldan Emperor’s personal guard whose duty it is to protect the embassy and Taldan visitors. Skelg also dropped a hefty sum of gold to purchase a manor in the Ivy district, something a Longaxe isn’t paid well enough to do. It is widely assumed that he brought most of his wealth with him from the north—a rumor I know to be true.

It seems that Skelg also brought a curse with him. In his letter to me, he speaks of lying abed in this miserable summer dying from the cold. Neither physician nor priest has been able to cure his ailment, and there are no signs of disease or poison. Of course, for such a man, there is no greater dishonor than to die in bed instead of in battle.

Normally, the Pathfinder Society would monitor these events and let the authorities deal with them. However, there are three factors that have drawn our interest. First, Skelg is himself a member of our Society and has asked for our help. Second, he is a personal friend of mine, and finding a sparring partner as worthy as Skelg to replace him would be a trying task. Last, he claims that artifacts of great power are involved, and that we may be able to recover them for the vaults of the Grand Lodge.

We view this situation as having enough importance to assign you to investigate it. Go to the home of Skelg the Ripper, learn what you can, and do your best to help him. If you find an item that is somehow connected to the curse, either retrieve it or glean as much information as you can about it.

I trust there are no questions?

It´s oficially allowed?

I´ve read, and even being lent one reroll, but in my last F2F game I´ve been told it´s not allowed. To go on we asked our VO and accept blindly his decission (read: NO), but I agree with him to ask about it.

Specific situation if it matters:

I bought to character folios for a freind and I. As he couldn´t come to play I keep his folio to let it to another player in case of necessity.
2 of my player were blinded and I offered them the reroll. I was told I can´t lend it. I doubt it, so we asked our VO who says you can´t do it because there´s a GM boon which aloows it plus the other uses your starts as modifier.
As my last argument I asked about the difference about having lend the folio before starting to play so nobody knows who bought it, or lending it in the middle of the game. The answers was "before is ok, in the middle no".
It has no sense for me due previous experiences, but without more reasons to give I accepted the ruling and politely said I´ll ask in the forums for insight.

It didn´t affect a lot, but I´ll like an answer because being able to lend it or not depending if I´m playing F2F or PBP it´s illogical, IMHO. And I feel I´m cheated/cheating, which I´ll prefer to avoid.

Thanks in advance.

And come to the gameplay thread to start

The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it ll began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.”

The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign f a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table. “Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born.

“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.”

Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.”

Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself.

Feel free to introduce yourselves and ask whatever you want to Janira

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

For months Taldor faction leader Lady Gloriana Morilla has mustered a small army to aid the Mendevian Crusade; however, without a powerful, unifying icon to rally around, progress is slow. When her agents learned of a dormant relic that might be awakened, she petitioned the Pathfinder Society for its aid in recovering this so-called Horn of Aroden, knowing that the Society would benefit from her army’s hastened arrival. The PCs travel to Brevoy, a fragmented land of dueling, cold, and conquest to secure this horn, though in doing so they join an ongoing plot of politics and intrigue.

This will be run as part of the PBP Gameday IV.

For more information about the gameday look:

List of scenarios
Information about the PBP

I´ll pick the first 6 who came, have his character sheet completely written in paizo (no links to other pages), and are available at starting date.
It´ll start on 21 of september.

The adventure begins in Sandswept Hall, the Pathfinder Lodge in Sothis as Venture-Captain Norden Balentiir briefs the PCs on their upcoming mission.

Greetings Pathfinders, It seems we have another task at hand in the Osirian desert. A travelling caravan heading north from the village of Safani to the city of Eto was recently blown off course while traversing through the Parched Dunes, due to unusually strong
sandstorms. Much of the caravan was destroyed, but one of the survivors, a man by the name of Akenata, claimed to have seen a large pyramid protruding out of the desert. At first many thought that the old man was suffering from heat exhaustion and may have seen a mirage. But then he brought forth a small clay tablet inscribed in Ancient Osiriani. The tablet was a cartouche of the Pharaoh Sekh-pa-Mefer the III, The Pharaoh of Sphinxes.

If this is indeed true then the sands of time have uncovered one of the few pyramids from the First Age of Osirion. I have conducted research within the Great Library of Tephu and discovered a papyrus scroll which contains references into the pharaoh’s name and found that the pyramid is rumored to be one of the few tombs that the Pharaoh Jetrieti V did not plunder during his reign more than 7,500 years ago.

Using the directions the caravan guide has given me, I have created a map for you and will be sending your team of Pathfinders to explore this area. Locate the pyramid and explore it depths. Bring back as many artifacts as you can find, as I have no doubt that Akenata has told his story to others. Word of the pyramid’s discovery has spread far and fast. Archaeologists, explorers, and tomb robbers from across the Inner Sea are gathering in Osirion’s taverns and inns to plan expeditions into the desert, each vying to
be the first to plunder the tomb’s treasures.

Remember you will be traveling in an inhospitable desert environment and very close to the eastern edge of the Footprints of Rovagug. So be vigilant in your travels as all manner of beasts roam those harsh desert sands.

Do any of you have questions before you go?

Trying to recruit a well rounded party for a Risen from the sands.

Right now we have two level 2 fighters. It will be great if someone come to cover some other roles; healer, scholar, buffer, etc.

Disclaimer: The module has some reputation of being deadly if unprepared, or you´re only trick don´t work. Also, in our local lodge, there was a F2F which lasts 10 minutes: introduction, some exploration and "run from your life"

Creating a 2nd table of Silverhex chronicles due to demand

Second table as promised

All of you had received setter from and old asociate, Ulisha, a curious and capable half-orc explorer. In the letters she told about her last discovering, Silverhex, an enchanted sickle used by druids millennia before which she recover from a collapsing stone circle. She also tolds you about her recent problems with the local nobility, and the bounty they had putted on her head. Unable to deal with her pursuers on her own. So she offeres to sell you Silverhex at a steep discount and then pay off her bounty.

But when you arrive to the room of the Giant´s thumb inn, she asked as a meeting place, she is nowhere to be found. However, she left behind her journal full of profitable leads as a sign of good faith. Reading the journal you find quickly a clue about a treasure:

Excepts from Ulisha’s Journal
The only thing worse than working for a Galtan nobleman is working for two Galtan noblemen—in my case, Lords Tullivor and Sarvio, both of whom are happy only when the other is not. I made a tidy sum recovering their heirlooms, but when Laban Tullivor tasked me to steal a platinum chalice belonging to the Sarvios, I took my leave (and the cup), and they’ve been hounding me since. Now Laban’s deceased, and it’s rumored his mausoleum in Gralton’s cemetery harbors a treasure. I hope you’ll not balk at tomb-robbing. Remember, these are aristocrats. I say, a plague on both their houses.

I wanted to run this from the day I read it, but I haven´t got luck F2F.

Now that I´m starting with GMing PBP I want to know if there is enough people to play this, even if you´ll not play with your own character.

Anyone wants to play this?

Creating a new PBP game

Thanks in advance

I need a little (read lots) of help to create my sylph sky druid. I obtained the boon some months ago and I´ve benn toying with the idea without decide myself how to build it

I think that this boon is a good oportunity to build a special character, more fun than power. But the guides I´d read suggest to go either very martial or very caster, and with the stats adjustment of a sylph is very hard to have more than 16 in strengh or wisdom.

So, I´ll aprecciate some tips about how could I build, taking in account that:

I´ll have a Roc as animal companion, I think this will help me in the early level fights, and even could provide some transport at later levels if neccesary.
I doubt I will be useful as melee combatant due to -2 con, no bonus in strengh and only light armour.

I was thinking in this stats:
Str 12, Dex 16, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 16 and Cha 7

This way I use the +2 in Des and Int to have a better bonus, I have a litle Str to help in combat the first levels (when I´ll only have 1 spell or two).

My main concern is to not be a crppled character just to be a "special snowflake" and the lack of social skills it will have.

Any suggestion?

I need some help with my ranger spells, because I don´t know wich of them could we useful.

Lets put this in context:
Urban Ranger level 7 who, since 4th level has only cast 1 cure light wounds (and that with a 1st level spell, my fault). I have a Roc as animal companion.
Playing Curse of the Crimson Throne with a Barbarian, Cleric, Gunslinger, sometimes a wizard and, just added, a Warpriest.

I don´t find cast gravity bow better than just firing, and the rest are a little situational. The ony thing I´m moderately sure is to hace a Protection/Resist energy memorized for the next time our GM burn a house with all the party inside (Roc included), and maybe magic fang in case my Roc need it.

Any suggestion?

Can anyone explain me how this interacts? Deathwacht allows you to identify creatures as undeads (among other things), and the haunts are, according to the Gamemastery Guide; “The distinction between a trap and an undead creature blurs when you introduce a haunt”

So I have no idea but I’m supposed to do when I’m the DM and this interacts. Should I allow a Perception check with a -4, similar to the effects of the spell detect undead, or what?
