Any chance you're still taking applications? I didn't see anything in the original post. I hope so.

This is one of two campaigns that are no longer running because the GM was banned. You’ve already set one to inactive, it would be good to move this one to inactive as well, please. Thank you.
I play in another campaign with the GM and someone jumped on there to let us know that the GM was banned from the forums (either permanently or temporarily) for some hateful things they said about a trans celebrity. Not sure about details and no idea where I could cooperate this, but this is why there’s been no posts.
I will be withdrawing from this campaign as a result. It’s unfortunate, but is what it is.
Kobold Catgirl wrote: Without going too into it, they said some extremely not-nice things about a trans celebrity and refused to back down or apologize for it. Thanks for the info. That’s really unfortunate to hear as he’s running two campaigns I’m in and I had no idea.
I will be withdrawing from both campaigns and will post over there as well.
These views do not reflect mine, and I can’t play in a campaign with someone with those views. Even if they come back.
Andra wrote: I may need a day or two before I'm able to make my next post. I'm dealing with a personal tragedy at the moment in real life. Good luck.
Also, just posted my reaction that might prevent some or all the damage. If the monster choose to take the enfeebled condition, don't forget that affects the damage delivered as well.
Drogyn Locke wrote: If there’s time on the way back, Drogyn will use Lay on Hands to heal up any people not healed up yet. I did post this. I really did intend to heal people up after that fight and would have if there was enough time before heading back out.

Well, I’m not sure what this group will end up looking like but some interesting submissions so far. If someone is coming to this thread and is looking to see what character might compliment the group, here’s the list. Plus I know the GM likes keep a list. If I got anything wrong or something needs changing, let me know.
For the people who have already posted, I wasn’t 100% clear on the backgrounds chosen, myself included. So if you could post this, that would be a great help to the GM.

I’m very in. Thanks for including me. Still looking to play a Gnome Cleric of Nethys, with a focus on healing. Will post flaws/quirks tomorrow.
Yep, we definitely have enough players, just need that GM. Looking forward to seeing this develop.
To clarify, the character I have in mind is a cleric of Nethys.
Hello, I would be interested in a PbP for the Strength of Thousands and need someone who would be interested in GMing it and then a group to go with it. Anyone interested in doing this. sort of thing?

Just wanted to make a suggestion for you to take or leave but it’s something that I found worked in other play by posts. Other GMs I’ve played with keep an initiative post that they can copy and past from so that, when we go into encounter mode, you can just copy and paste all initiatives and roll for everyone. This starts the encounter right after you’ve set it up instead of waiting for everyone to roll and then putting it altogether.
So it would go like this:
“The sounds of goblins fighting in the distance.
Drogyn: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Abi: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Greyjay: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Salt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Scarlett: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Goblins: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Alright, Scarlett reacts first. Then the goblins with Greyjay on deck after this.
If someone is using Stealth or something, you would just adjust the copy and paste.
Yeah, 6 is the direction I would go as well in case someone drops out. And, if nobody drops out and everyone is engaged, then that’s a win I’d take any day.
Narrowing it down to 6 wasn’t super easy even. I tried myself and it took a while. Good luck with your choices.
The group I picked was very charismatic. Lots of face skills in the group.

Can we be clear on language? This reads like a character with 2 backgrounds (a technical component of character creation) while I believe it may have meant 1 background, and one Adventure Path appropriate story element which should have been a background.
re: AP ...
Given that AP might mean Adventure Path, and Orsen to all appearances has meant the APG when he has referred to the Player's Guide, and our GM has clearly meant the Agents of Edgewatch Player's Guide, I think it might be time to clarify.
Just my thoughts. Detective is the chosen background. The GM asked me for a guard group in the previous post, so I chose the Sally Guards. By player’s guide, I meant the Agents of Edgewatch AP Player’s Guide that had both new backgrounds as well as suggested backgrounds. I think the GM and I were understanding each other, but I hope that clears it up if it wasn’t clear for anyone. You could always click on the character as well and I made a post from him, Drogyn Locke, earlier.
Official pick will be Dwarf Champion, Detective background and I’ll take the Sally Guards as nobody has picked them yet.

BlackoCatto, please let me know if you want me to switch from the Detective background. I took it from the suggested backgrounds in the player’s guide and I really liked the idea of the Streetwise feat and having contacts around town like Sherlock.

BlackoCatto wrote: Drogyn Locke wrote: Background: Detective
Class: Redeemer Champion
Ancestry: Anvil Dwarf
Alignment: Neutral Good
Backstory: Born in Absalom, he was the son of a blacksmith and was destined for this trade. His father was a follower of Sarenrae, and would speak of this often. When the earthquake hit, it demolished his father's shop and his father died in the ensuing undead attack, but not before taking out his fair share of undead. When he discovered his father’s body, he grabbed what little equipment he could find and attempted to track down these killers and right this wrong. After this day, he became a detective so he could right other wrongs. He eventually met with Lieutenant Lavarsus while on a case that crossed over with the watch. Lavasus saw potential in him and has now transferred him to the Edgewatch.
Appearance: He wears a leather coat from his mother that she wore for adventures over his immaculate uniform. His red hair and braided red beard are well trimmed and nothing is ever out of place if he can help it. He has a shield strapped to his back and his right hand has a vicious looking gauntlet and bracer covered in spikes. He prominently displays his clan dagger on his belt as a homage to his father.
Personality and Quirks: As a monster hunter, Locke would often make up things about the monsters he would face. While he is quite knowledgable, he also likes to throw in some dubious knowledge into the mix just to amuse himself. He rubs some dirt on his hands before fights to help with grip and because he considers the earth to be good luck. He is proud to be in the Edgewatch and keeps his uniform clean each night. He thinks of himself as a role model, and presentation is important. He never drinks and prefers tea most of the time. He can always be found with a candy mint in his mouth. To calm down after a particularly hard day, he likes to polish his uniform while drinking some tea. When it comes to the job and his ... Oh sorry. Detective was on the list of backgrounds suggested in the player’s guide. Did you mean just the new ones listed in the player’s guide?
Taking a look at the submissions, I combined my two submissions to make my final decision. Looks like we need someone up front who can take some hits and always appreciates healing.
Changed the Dwarf submission to a Champion with the Detective background. Modified backstory is below. You can remove the other two submissions and keep this one. Thanks for your understanding.

Felix Domblevoster wrote: Name: Felix Domblevoster
Player: Tarondor
Ancestry: Gnome (Wellspring Gnome)
Background: Learned Guard Prodigy
Class: Oracle of Lore
Alignment: Lawful Good
Quirk: Felix is so avid a collector of knowledge at any cost that he becomes dangerously incautious as to the source of that knowledge. "I must know!" is one of his most common phrases. It's gotten him into trouble at many libraries. He sees the hoarding of secrets as both stupid and a crime against the improvement of the intelligent races.
Backstory: Felix is a native of Absalom and a former student of the Forae Logos. His ceaseless curiosity was both a blessing and a curse in the Great Library, but things got worse when he received a blinding vision from Nethys, a full-throated eruption of knowledge, understanding and akashic oneness that left him unable to speak for a month. After that, Felix had a strange effect on the written word. Pages flutter in his presence. Books turn toward him. Scrolls unroll and spellbooks mutter.
After weeks of disruption, the Great Librarian suggested that Felix find another line of work. Despondent, Felix pondered his options until he overheard a conversation about how the Watch was looking for detectives. Finally! A place to work out his curiosity without wearing out his welcome! He enlisted the same day.
Another really interesting one with an awesome picture! I'm getting excited!

Abi Klebrirndi wrote: Name: Abi Klebrirndi
Ancestry: Gnome (Sensate Gnome)
Background: Learned Guard Prodigy
Class: Investigator (Forensic Medicine)
Alignment: Lawful Good
Abi grew up reading pulp mystery novels, and despite her family’s wishes for her to continue the family tradition of practicing medicine, she always knew she wanted to be a detective, like the heroes of those stories. Well, maybe not the heroes, they tended to be buff and athletic, with a taste for danger and a sometimes cavalier disregard of the rules, and Abi was none of those things, but she could be the diligent researcher who finds the last piece of the puzzle the hero needs to solve the mystery, or maybe even the plucky sidekick.
Upon joining the guard, Abi was able to put the medical skills she learnt from her parents to good use, both in patching up her co-workers in the and in examining dead bodies, but reality wasn’t quite like the stories and most crimes, even those in the Wise Quarter of Absalom are rather mundane and banal. This didn’t deter Abi, who frequently came up with outlandish theories involving the Skinsaw Cult, Daemonic manipulation, or Undead predations being responsible for whatever the latest crime being investigated was. To date, none of these theories have been proven correct (although a few crimes such theories were concocted around are still unsolved). These theories soon developed Abi quite the reputation among the Learned Guard, one mitigated only by Abi’s otherwise good work.
When the call for volunteers for the Edgewatch came out both Abi and her boss leaped at the chance – for Abi, any supernatural conspiracy in Absalom was sure to target the Radiant Festival, and for her boss it was the perfect chance to hand off responsibility for the excitable gnome.
Abi is both excited and nervous about her first day on the beat, especially as she was rarely in a ‘front-line’ role in the Learned Guard.

Love this character for this campaign!
I’d recommend 2 or 3 of us have the Medicine skill. Especially those with the Wisdom to back it up. I’ve heard some reviews talk about the long days in the first book and 2e is full of taking hits.

Orsen it is up to you wither youd like to submit the rogue or the Champion. Deadline is still a good while away. I am already working on sections.
Addendum:Have to add posting of Guard background in part for this.
Thanks for the patience. I like a balanced party so I’ll wait to see how the party shapes up, if you don’t mind. Like if you take the bare knuckle Rogue, I’ll play champion as I would imagine the rogue would be largely redundant have two Ruffian Rogues. Right now, the Champion might be the best fit as there are no tanks but the shield Fighter is in the mix as well as could fit that role. Does all of that make sense?
Aeshuura wrote: Thinking of playing a Varisian Rogue. This would be my first foray into PF 2e, so if chosen, please bear with me. I am trying to see how viable a bare knuckle boxing rogue build might be. Background I chose was the Undercover Lotus Guard. Still trying to put the character together... Ruffian seems to make the most sense for this. A dedication to Monk in the 2nd level slot would make this work pretty well I would imagine. Although Thief would get Dex to damage on the unarmed strikes too so this might be a good option as well, if not very good thematically.
If you play this Rogue, that would mean there’d be no need for the other Rogue and make my Champion option would make the most sense.
I also have a goblin champion built if the party needs more of that in the final build. If that helps at all. The goblin champion would be a lot funnier, if funny is more your thing.

Name: Xreshgur Xyggaraz
Ancestry: Sprite (Draxie)
Background: Grizzled Muckrucker
Class: Investigator (Forensic Medicine)
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Xyg originally joined the Muckrucker's as an analyst, wanting to contribute to fixing her poor community. Over time, her tasks became more field-oriented until she was eventually "promoted" to a full-fledged detective. After an incident involving an exorbitant number of snakes, she was ready to give up, but a chance in another district may just be the light she needs.
** spoiler omitted **
Quirks: Xyg has a deep-seated trauma from having been eaten, but has otherwise grown numb to violence and death. More positively, she also has an extreme love of sweet foods and will eat her weight in them if given the opportunity. Predictably, she is not fond of having to use devices built for larger beings.
I’m intrigued to play with this type of character. He did say it was races from the Core or APG. If the race gets rejected, is there a back up race?

I would be very interested in playing in this campaign. I’ll start putting a character together right away and will post before the deadline. Thank you.
Hello all. Looking through the many posts on the recruiting wall, I thought I’d try also creating my own post. Currently looking for a party and GM to run Agents of Edgewatch in Play by Post format. Obviously this won’t happen without a GM but hopefully we’ll get some interest on both sides. Getting players will likely not be a problem considering the recruitment forums are filled with people who want to play this.
I’d also be interested in an Agents of Edgewatch campaign. PbP only. Lots of players looking for it actually, just need someone to GM it. Flexible on character.
I would also be open to Age of Ashes.
Adult male from Canada in my 40s. Play in several PbP and one live campaign currently. Only interested in 2E campaigns right now. Usually post once per day per campaign.
Thanks. Twitter is terrible for scrolling.
I get that a lot. I have a terrible memory, except when it comes to movies.

Chris, not sure how often you get this but I got the Senzo Tanaka reference right away. Huge movie buff. Watched Bloodsport dozens of times when I was a kid.
Hey folks. Currently building an Urban Hunter and was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to have Divine Favor on their spell list. Outside of UMD of course.
Can my banner be work like a tabard or similar piece of clothing?

Pathfinder Unchained wrote: Some feats, rage powers, rogue talents, and other rules might not work with the unchained classes, and such rules should be reviewed before being used with the new versions. In other words, it's GM discretion as to whether any rogue talent published for the Rogue and not explicitly updated for the Unchained Rogue can still be used by the Unchained Rogue. PFS made a blanket ruling of "no", which is probably where Hero Lab is coming from.
Do you know where this blanket rule is?

Hey,
I have run into an issue with Hero Lab and I saw it posted in a couple of places. Also, some people have said they have run into this interpretation at PFS games. So, here it is:
Rogues don't have access to all rogue talents.
Now, I know it says that rogues have modified talents in Unchained. I also know they had a list of unmodified ones. But I don't see anywhere that they don't have access to any other talent for the rest of time. Like, why would the Bomber talent not be available?
I don't get it. If it's true, I don't understand the reasoning. If it's not true, why are people interpreting the rule this way? I can't find an FAQ or any thread with a definitive answer. Does anyone know when an FAQ for Unchained is coming out?

barring that, you could use throwing daggers instead as you can pick them up and preserve the poison on them later.
Discoveries
Madness bombs are good as they lower will saves.
Lingering Plague is good for continued saves
Plague Bombs also lower saves.
poison bombs fit in thematically.
poison conversion is good if you want to change the type of poison.
I'm not too worried about wasting the poison as I am the one sweating it out through my pours because of the archetype. And I'm small and need dex more for bomb through so I'm sticking with ranged.
Hey. I have an idea for a character but I'm looking for advice on feats and discoveries.
So far, I know I want to play an alchemist grenadier/toxicant. I plan on using a crossbow to apply poison or alchemical items from the archetypes.
For race, I'm going with tiefling.
This is for an adventure path which will likely be Hell's Rebels.
Hello,
Mutagen is the only thing I see that they have in common. CB changes mutagens to act differently, H gets rid of Mutgens. The way I read it, they fit but get rid of the new CB version of the Mutagen. Does this make sense?
You're going to want to check out the new archetype from the Occult book then. There's your craft construct archetype.

The Archive wrote: Unstable Mutagen wrote: Once per day, you can create an unstable mutagen. It is like a normal mutagen in most ways, but also gains a single benefit or hindrance due to its instability. Mutagen Class Feature wrote: It takes 1 hour to brew a dose of mutagen, and once brewed, it remains potent until used. An alchemist can only maintain one dose of mutagen at a time—if he brews a second dose, any existing mutagen becomes inert. It's not a separate mutagen, just a modification to a normal mutagen. The only way to have two mutagens is through the infuse mutagen discovery.
It probably looks as it does on Hero Lab because of the difference in how many you make per day. You can only ever make one unstable mutagen per day, but can make as many normal mutagens per day as time allows. Thanks. I know it sounded too good to be true. Really, I love the idea of mutagen but one per day is not enough to sacrifice all the spell options I'd be sacrificing to get it. And infuse costs way too much. Two per day would have been good.
