Ono looks at Father Emmett and silently mouths “Bad Cop, Bad Cop”, nods, then turns to face the person of interest. ”You heard the man, hands in the air! No funny business if you’re not looking to spend the night in lock up!” Ono’s mere glare is enough to
”I just like to maintain exit routes. Wasn’t feeling good about the locked door. Anyway, with that taken care of, I think it’s time to execute our search warrant. I seem to recall walking past some rooms that weren’t on the schedule tour.” Ono starts walking in the direction of one of these doors, ready to check this place out.
"Huh, wasn't that door unlocked just a moment ago? That simply won't do." Ono says as he fishes out his lock picks and sets to work on the door.
Ono considers forcefully pressing the subject of the Minkai laborers, but decides to see how Watanabe’s clever approach works out.
”Well, that shouldn’t be a problem, we don’t need a room, just full access to the building and grounds. Also, why you lookin’ at the door, Smiley? We’re over here.” Ono says as he gives the room a quick inspection, listening carefully with his elf ears for anything that seems out of place.
Something seems off about her response…
Ono follows along, waiting for the action to start.
”Did I hear ‘kick in the front door’?!? I already like this plan!” Ono exclaims as he slowly nods his head in anticipation of the Great Justice that will soon be dispensed.
Ono perceptively senses that Father Emmett isn’t feeling quite like himself, so he sits down beside the good Father and attempts to cheer him up.
”There, there, Father Emmett, you don’t need to feel bad. It’s not like you’re some kind of monster. I mean, a monster would be far more intimidating… no one is going to be scared of you. Sure, maybe they’d point and laugh, or perhaps even throw things, but they’re certainly not going to be afraid of you.” Ono says as he smiles. He pats Father Emmett on the shoulder and gives him the ‘thumbs up’.
”I can probably manage checking out the exterior without being noticed, but I’m not quite as good at directly misleading people in a more social setting.” Ono says, volunteering to tactically assess the building’s exterior.
Ono ponders the situation for much longer than is typical for the elf, each thought clearly bringing a slight expression of pain to his hungover face. ”I recommend some reconnaissance first. It is best to be aware of all building access points, and any areas that may seem particularly noteworthy. Then perhaps we rent a room in the hotel? Gives us a good reason to be walking around inside, doesn’t it?”
Ono staggers into the room, shielding his eyes from the light, and says in nearly a whisper, "Yes keep it down please... no need to yell. Ono reporting for duty as well."
"Did I hear we're going to another tavern!?!" Ono slurs excitedly as he stumbles out of the room, trips over a chair and falls into a corner. He promptly curls up, and is comfortably snoring within seconds.
Staggering into Ollo’s office with an grin on his face, Ono says, ”We made it, Sergeant! Hmmm… wouldn’t it be neat if your last name was Pepper? Then you’d be Sergeant Pepper!” Ono’s thoughts drift momentarily, as he’s rather taken with this new discovery. After a moment, he shakes his head, recalling where he’s at, and continues. ”The Dreaming Palace!” he practically shouts, far more loudly than necessary. He then folds his arms, smiles, and slowly nods, as if everything has now been explained.
"Checking in seems like a good idea." Ono says, agreeing with Watanabe.
”Well, well, well… what do we have hear? A chalice filled with alcohol and ‘mystery’ substances you say? Pass it over this way!” Ono calls out as he works the crowd up a bit. As the chalice is passed to him, he holds it high in the air, the proceeds to take a large gulp…
…and quickly vomits the disgusting contents back up. He hangs his head low and saunters off as the crowd laughs and jeers.
”Alright, my friends, shall we take a peak at the next room?”, Ono says, barely able to contain his excitement at the prospect of further exploring this den of debauchery.
”I do not believe we’ve been to all of the rooms here. Perhaps there are more sights to see?… I mean, more information to gather?” Ono says, still grinning and pleasantly buzzed.
”It is interesting that you say that, Watanabe, because this place sure seems to excite Father Emmett’s knee…”, Ono says with a hearty laugh.
”Thanks, Cass! You’re good people!” Ono says to the assassin for hire. He then turns to his companions and with a boyish grin on his face says, ”Where’s the next stop in this wild party? Can’t wait to see what’s next!”
”Alright! This seems like my kinda room!” Ono cheers boisterously! He strides up to the bartender and says, ”I hear you’re looking for some Phoenix Wrestling! I’m up for a challenge!”
After an outstanding physical spectacle of pinning the confident Tiefling to the burning floor, Ono douses the small fire on his shirt between his fingers, and orders up a couple of drinks. A drink in each hand, he approaches Cass, handing her one. ”How you doin’? Enjoy the show?”
Full of liquid courage, Ono struts into the room. He turns to a group of patrons, flexes his lean elven muscles, and says, “You’re going to tell me what this room is all about.”
Ono excitedly claps Watanabe on the back and let’s out a hearty laugh. ”Excellent show, my friend! It seems you have many callings! Odd for one so short lived, but a welcome sight none the less!”
Ono sips on his cocktail as he watches Father Emmett being buried alive, then steps forward and announces, "Passable, but I think I can do better!" He then volunteers for the next 'buried alive' challenge.
”Aaaah, yeah! This is what I’m talking about!” Ono says as he struts in like he owns the place. ”Damn near 300 years old… how is this the first time I’ve seen this place?!?” “So, Pharasma, honey, what kind of challenges are we talking about? You’ve… aroused my interest.”
Ono inspects his clothing and nods at Watanabe, clearly approving of his meticulous approach in clothes cleaning. Knowing he looks pretty fly for an elf guy, Ono says, ”Watanabe, you may have missed your calling! Perhaps if we survive all of this, you could open an upscale dry cleaning service.”
”Thank you, Father. You know what they say, ‘Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em’.”, the elf says with a genuine smile. ”So… anyone want those bracers? Seem like they could be useful.”
”It appears there is something of note at the bottom of the pit. If Father Emmitt would be so kind as to patch me up a bit, I can attempt to retrieve it.”
”It’s a slippery little thing, isn’t it?” Ono says as he releases another volley of arrows at the creature.
Ono stands up and fires two arrows point blank at the creature.
Ono runs in range of the grick and fires a few arrows at the creature.
Ono pulls out manacles, and claps them on the Creeper's ankles to prevent further mobility. He then runs back down the stairs towards the action.
Not about to let the Creeper that attempted to poison him get away, Ono sprints after the him. He calls back to his party, "I'll be right back. He's BREAKING THE LAW, and I'm the ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP HIM!!!"
Once in position (probably behind the creeper...), Ono readies his fist of fury. Staring directly into the Creeper's eyes, in a low and threatening voice he says, "You know what happened to your buddy, right? It's time to give up. The law looks less favorably on those who resist."
Ono sprints to the corner, and spots the creature. Bow at the ready, he fires a quick shot at the Grick.
"You know, I think I was using the wrong arrows. Those were the ones I have been meaning to re-feather... Maybe these will work better!" Ono says as he draws a pristine arrow from his quiver.
Ono furrows his brow. "Huh... a little better, but I guess it was mostly just me missing. I'll try and work on that too."
Ono continues his arrow flurry of maiming a death at the fiendish creature.
With a little help from his friends, Ono is feeling quite fantastic! "Thanks, Father Emmett! I needed that!" Turning back to the situation at hand, it unsurprisingly calls for extreme violence. So, Ono aims his bow at the next flying creature and fires off an inspired volley in the beast's direction.
Fortunately Ono is already in his killing stance, so he fires off some arrows at the nearest flying beast.
Perplexed, Ono continues to look around for the creature as he says, ”Probably best to be cautious. This thing could likely jump out from anywhere at any moment!”
Ono glides to the corner of the cave with lightning speed, looking for the second creature.
His keen elf eyes unable to discern the location of the evil little dark and light monster. ”I don’t know where he is. He seems to have vanished!”
Ono continues to stare down the creature, long enough for it to be apparent...
...but probably more uncomfortable for Ono than the creature. He then fires a few arrows off, adding some teeth to the non-verbal, implied threat.
Ono blinks his eyes a few times to clear the red spots throughout his vision, only to see a dagger flying towards him just in time to sidestep it. Ono grins maliciously and points his finger at the remaining creature.
”Depends who you ask, but from my perspective, yes, everything is alright!”, Ono replies into the darkness with an unseen grin.
Ono swings his fist, in time with Pen's inspiring tune, at the creature attempting to run past him.
Even in the darkness, the rest of the party can hear sickening crunch of Ono's fist shattering the creature's face, and likely much of the rest of its skull.
Ono watches the "sneaky" creatures approach under the cover darkness, then watches them throw daggers in his direction. Descending from cavern dwelling elves, Ono feels just as comfortable in darkness as he does in brighter conditions. Unfortunately, the daggers were thrown very quickly, and even more unfortunately, they were also thrown accurately.
"Ouch, that hurt! ...and you tried to POISON me? Seriously?!? I'm an Agent of the Edgewatch division, and assaulting an officer of the law is a felonious act!" Shaking off the mild poison coating the blades, Ono aims to bring justice to these deviants, literally (at least the aiming part).
Ono bellows, "FOR GREAT JUSTICE!", as he rains arrows upon the felons.
