Fantastic. Time to get this little show on the road. Oded sidesteps the deputy before heading out after Weylyn, looking back to check and see who exactly would follow.
Well, if the paladin isnt too much of a girl after last night, perhaps we're off to see the mayor and sheriff? And, from what I saw of the lot of you conversing, I bet you got more information than we had yesterday. Oded swings off the chair and hops down, ready to head for the door. His newer, slightly smaller, axe hangs next to a shiny shield whose appearance has yet to be marred.
Oded wakes somewhat early and leaves his pack upstairs, choosing to bring only his axe and shield downstairs. After the previous day, it seems he has more if an attachment to this little town. Sitting down at a table, he thinks of ordering a beer, hair of the dog and what not, but figures that after yesterdays excitement, keeping all of his reflexes is best. He knows that when the others come down, they will share all they have learned. He also knows that they have a meeting coming up with the sheriff and mayor.
Ah, yes. That seems troubling. Anything else interesting around here? Oded orders another round, buying into the stereotype of the hard drinking dwarf. This next may be his last, as he is quickly losing interest in his new friend, and thinking more of a warm bed, and the prospect of a nice breakfast.
Boar, eh? Probably tastes fantastic. So you've done a bit of traveling in these parts, I just arrived the other day. Seen anything interesting? We overheard that they've had a bit of trouble, lately. Oded thinks clearly for a second, a rarity while drinking. The idea to see if the traveler knew anything about the surrounding area seemed to stick in his mind.
Ah lad, she was a hero. Oded clinks his glass with the downtrodden man. Oded had never owned a dog, and it was not common in his former village. But he did his best to imagine what it was like. Finding no success, Oded moved on to the man's own life. Errr... So what do you do, then? Some big shot in this town, I'm sure. Oded smiles, trying to stay on happy topics, and throw in some humor.
The drinks continue and Oded enjoys the feeling of being famous. He'd never really felt this way before, and having others really thankful for his service put Oded in a good mood. He wanders around the tavern, joining his friends and making new ones.
Ah, good to see you. Glad you made it out alright. Errr, sorry about your dog. He died a hero, though. Without him, we never would have made it. Thank you for the food and bed. Your next round is on me, though. Oded shakes the man's hand, gives him a nice slap on the back, and escorts him to the bar. The chance to drink on someone's tab is too good to pass up.
Well, that was anticlimactic. Remember what I said about drinking before? Ignore that. Oded feels the call of the beer, after what was undoubtedly a rough day. The change of mood on the thief is quite obvious, but perhaps thats just the stress of the day getting to him.
I'm with the elf. a good drink tonight perhaps, but I'd be interested in what they have to say. I'm curious what else they might know judging from what we overheard this morning. Oded's sense of protection is starring to rear its head. Especially against goblins and their ilk.
Yes, it was a good battle. I've got a little bit of gold off of one of the first ones. It looks like its about three and a bit gold pieces per person. Not shabby. Oded looks down to see himself clean again, thankful for the bit of magic, even if it was a little uncomfortable. Magic always made him a little anxious, especially the idea that he couldnt see what was going on. Errr, now what, lads?
Oded takes a look at the scene; blood and gore covers parts of the ground thanks to the dead goblins. He finds the nearest dead goblin, and looks for a scrap of clean clothing to wipe his face, arms and axe off with. A sigh escapes as he shivers, the adrenaline beginning to wear off, and the pain of his wounds setting in. Silence seems the best policy, just for now. He walks around to the various dead goblins, seeing what meager possessions they may have; the spoils of battle to be split among the victors. It may be harsh, but Oded felt comfortable with it. They were the defenders, not the aggressors.
Oded tries again to slay the remaining upright goblin. Rolls:

Aye lad, the fire got him. Lets end it. Oded moves towards the lone remaining goblin not currently stunned, and raises his weapon. Attack:

The bird drops something onto the mounted goblin, which catches fire. As Oded watches, it doesnt look as bad as it did at first, but patches of fire still ignite on the goblin and mount. Oded sees out of the corner of his eye the elf does some spell at the goblin as well. That seems to be that, only one left. Oded does what he does best, and takes a swing at the remaining goblin.

The more I think about Oded, the more I think that he should be arranged slightly differently. I like having him be the anchor as it fits with how I imagine his personality to be. And running in with a big axe is cool, but doesnt allow any protection, lol. How would you feel about futsing with the weapons, armor and maybe a trait? This would be the only time I'd alter him from here on out. I also understand if its too late. :)

Oded watches as Weylyn slips a dagger into the side of a goblin, who falls to the ground. He smiles, before targeting another goblin.

Oded surveys the situation. He sees the lone man, now defenseless. But the mounted goblin seems to be having problems. Oded takes all this in, and knowing the risks, charges the nearest goblin in the band of five. Combat: Combat= Damage=
Oded yells at the elf as he runs off, Damnit all, elf. You nearly died pulling this stunt last time. Keep it up, and you'll get the rest of us killed. Anger fueling him, Oded draws his axe and hastens after the wizard.
Oded feels a shiver as the cleric does some of his magic. His wound, however, feels completely healed. Holding cells... That'd do the job, I suppose. There is a sheriff in town, we ran into him earlier. He'd be the man I go to. Also might allow us to assist in the town's defense. In the mean time, anyone got any rope? Oded looks around for any rope or anything useful to tie the baddies up. Perception:
He also thought about the attacks themselves. These attacks seem odd. Anyone wonder at the timing? They knew about the festival, and caught us all with our pants down.
Oded looks down at the bow, and looks at Berenwyr. Hah. This may be a bit small. Oh well. If only I knew how to use it.
Oded peers into the pouch, and finds some coinage and a small bottle of something. The elf will know better than me. Oded hangs the axe back into its harness on his back. Leaning down, he does his best to wipe off the blood from his beard and hair, but the realization he is just making himself look worse slowly sets in. Ahh hell, nobody here will care anyway. Oded picks up the bow and any arrows still remaining, and walks over to the elf. Perhaps you would make more use of these than I. he says with a nod to Beren. There's some coins in here, dont worry, I'll divvy em up best I can. Also, some bottle of somethin. You'd know more than me. Oded hands the bottle over to Berenwyr, standing now with the cleric and the magic wielding elf.
Oded reaches down and wipes his axe on the dead goblin's clothing. The blade is getting nicked something wicked. Ah well, rather than a clean death, the little creatures will suffer. Oded looks around spying the goblins running about causing havoc. They seem to be uncoordinated now. Berenwyr, you have a better idea than I do. Are these devils doing anything coordinated we can try and end? As he says this, the wound in his arm throbs. Oooh, and I dont seem to be the only one injured. Another one of your pleasant zaps might do me and the wizard good, Caladrian. Oded sees the pouch that fell from the goblin singer's body. He picks it up and inspects its contents. While at it, he searches the goblin for anything else useful.
Berenwyr's words finally get through. Get the singer. Gotta get the singer. If I take a run at him, I should be able to barely get to him... Oded charges at the goblin singer, barely arriving in time to strike. rolls: Attack= Damage= Oded is -2 AC until next turn.
Oded watches as the goblin's head arcs its way over a building to his left. The victory is short lived, as Berenwyr walks towards the second group of goblins now approaching him, and calmly withdraws a handful of something. He tosses what is now colorful sand, and Oded turns away to face the goblin facing him, aware of bright lights on the periphery of his vision. Blood still dripping from the axe, he attacks the goblin currently assailing him. Rolls:

Oded misses the strike by the goblin, and the blade cuts pretty deep. He grimaces, and sees another one sneaking by to get to Berenwyr. The axe comes up, and strikes out at the goblin trying to get by. Rolls: Attack= Damage=
Oded swears as he watches the elf run off on his own towards the goblin. He yells at the foolhardy wizard. Goddess, man. You need a little protection from the little devils. I've got your back if you'll stay near me. Oded hustles after Berenwyr, getting within about 10ft before bracing for the oncoming goblins.
Oded breathes a sigh of relief before wringing the sweat off of his face. The wound taken toward the end of battle hurt, but was not serious. More golbins, eh? I think we should get our friend Darius some help before we move on. He seems to have taken the beating for all of us. And truth be told, I wouldn't mind a little myself. anyone got the skill? Oded looked down and knelt at the last creature, using the clothing to wipe the blood and gore off of his axe. He swore as he noticed a number of new nicks in the blade.
Oded felt the tickle from the last remaining goblin. Darius was hurt, and Oded was half glad that he was being targeted. The goblins were all down, except the one that seemed to be dodging everything Oded could throw at it. Anger and frustration building up, Oded raises the greataxe one more time, bringing it down with a yell. rolls: Attack= Damage=
Oded, having missed with his last strike, watched as the goblin continued to attack Darius. The one attacking the man and his dog is putting up quite a fight, but Darius has taken a few wounds. Hoping they can subdue their foe, Oded steps behind his goblin adversary, who is still facing Darius , and swings his axe back up for another blow at the goblin in front of him. Rolls:
Oded watches as the goblin attacking the odd man and his dog seems to be overcome by the pup. He also spies the cleric doing something magical while looking at the goblin. "It looks like they have this in hand." He turns to see Darius and the thief battling with two goblins. This seems like the prudent choice. Oded, hatred of goblins deeply imprinted in his dwarven identity, targets the closest of the two goblins attacking Darius and Weylyn and charges again. Rolls:
Oded grinned as he attempted to wrench his greataxe from the lifeless corpse of the first goblin. "Dirty little things," he thought to himself. As he pulled, Darius made a heroic move into the remaining creatures, killing one and missing one who tried to flank him. "But where did that shifty man go? I swear to the goddess, he better not have run off in the thick of it."
Oded, still fumbling with the straps to his axe, lets loose a string of curses as the goblins approach. He watches as the tall paladin advances towards them, and blocks one's strike without apparent damage.
