I'm thinking a magic using infiltration type.
I've got access to 4th ed...
Well obviously, Occux was going to succeed the emperor and become the new machine god...sheesh. ;D
Hey ARC, glad to hear you're back. Hope RL is treating you better.
I'm in for whatever, I've quite enjoyed this game...sorry to see it go, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. LOL, seems all of my 40k games have gone the way of the dodo...darn Tzeentch! always causing trouble!!!
Thanks JT
All the best ARC, hope all turns out ok.
Ah....thought the whip guy was still goin....:)
Occux takes a close look at the arcoflaggelant....is it the tall man from the vids?
He then examines the servitors, seeing if he can access any memory storage.
Tech Use [Int:45] 1d100 ⇒ 76
Having carefully drawn a bead on the arcoflaggelant after fixing Nebdel's weapons, Occux lets loose a volley of laser bolts.
Las-Carbing BS:31+10+10 : 51 1d100 ⇒ 29
Damage 2d10 + 4 ⇒ (8, 5) + 4 = 17
Occux calmly grabs Nebdel's gun and whispers imprecations to the spirits withing, withdrawing a small metal vial inscribed with sacred symbols from his voluminous robes. Applying a drop of liquid to the gun's firing mechanism, Occux clears the jammed round and works the action to verify it is smooth and without obstruction.
Satisfied, he thrusts the gun back into Nebdel's hands and resumes his position.

Occux again aims at the slender man.

Cocking his head, listening to the voice, Occux says "I recommend we prepare for our introduction to the thin-man's servants. I will attempt to determine his location."
He then interfaces with the cogitators and attempts to utilize low-level protocols to circumvent any security; trying to see where the signal for the cameras are being sent.

"It would seem from the vids we saw earlier and his behaviour recorded on the occulus, that our thin-man may be the perpetrator of this "contagion" that has destroyed this facility. "
"It would seem from the vids we saw earlier and his behaviour records on the oculus, that our thin-man may be the perpetrator of this "contagion" that has destroyed this facility. "
"I have results from the oculus taken from the security personnel in the last section. It would seem that the tall man whom we have seen in previous vids is stalking the personnel. The device records a confrontation between security personnel, some "infected" as it were. The one implanted with the device was wounded and found by the tall man. He auspexed the subject and summarily executed him ; his findings apparently not meeting his expectations. "
Occux motions Jacques over to the cogitator, showing him his results
I have three likely subjects for interrogation, location and visual identification records.
Does the cogitator have the location of those three candidates?
Occux's microdendrites access the cell-block data files, his head shaking from side to side as he sees how badly the data has been collated.
Research (int:45+10:55) 1d100 ⇒ 24
Occux looks for a cell-block cogitator, in order to determine who is in which cells, to better determine whom to question.
Ah, that's too bad
Take care.
:) Purging the bad spirits before the rolls get really important
Occux piles the documents neatly with the dataslate and places the bundle in his satchel; for further review.
Then, ever practical, he gathers up the throne gelt from the safe ( assuming it's convenient to carry)
Following the others into the armoury, he lends his own efforts to uncovering anything useful.

LOL....you notice smoke coming from Occux's ears
Managing to look a little peeved Occux says "My skills do not correlate to the physical penetration of this security device." indicating the safe "Perhaps one of you has the necessary training?"
He then goes out into the hall and waits in front of the electronic access pad.
Occux nods at JT's suggestion and begins querying the cogitator on the nature of the data purge and its source, trying to utilize non-secure maintenance sub-routines to get around any security overrides.
Tech use (int:45+10:55) 1d100 ⇒ 66
Occux looks at Nebdel for a second then gives the case a cursory examination
He then turns his attention to the safe.
Running his hands over is burnished surface he arrives at the lock.
Pausing, muttering imprecations to the machine spirits within he allows his microdendrites to interface carefully with the lock mechanism.
Tech-Use (int:45) 1d100 ⇒ 35
Occux pauses a moment , hovering over the cogitator as reams of data stream past. Lifting his head, he appears lost in thought or calculation.
Turning to the others he says "All of the data leads to my conclusion that we are currently in a grounded Imperial void ship. 1. Most if not all of the systems correspond to Imperial navy standard. 2. The facility's linear length exceeds 1 kilometer. 3. There is evidence of a crater caused by the vessel's impact 4. The storage areas correspond to those common among Imperial void ships. counting off the items on his fingers, Occux seems "pleased", if that the word, to be able to cogitate normally after his brief episode.
Occux peruses the data files in the cogitator to discern the nature of these "plasma reserves".

Occux waits in the corridor, sweeping his firing arc with his carbine, his mask filters for some reason unable to filter out the charnel smell from the bodies behind them.
Rising and moving forward to the rooms as Nebdel's signal, Occux approaches the cogitators...

Still unsettled by the carnage laying behind him, Occux allows his mechanisms to take over the task of analyzing the ocular device.
Nodding his acceptance of JT's plan, Occux takes position along the wall, las carbine held ready.

The weak animal part of Occux recoils at the carnage he sees, his hand involuntarily rising to shield his eyes from the scene.
"Performing a level by level clearance of this facility may not be tactically feasible. Occux says quietly, indicating the gaggle of Orks below " I suggest reconnoitre of remaining levels."
I'm easy either way.
I just appreciate you running this game ARC. If it's not turning out the way you intended I'm sure everyone here's willing to work with you to turn it around.
If you decide to go Rogue, I'm there!
"While your suggestion has merit, Julian Treadwell, there is a conspicuous dearth of available data points in the immediate area. " Occux says where he crouches by a pillar.
Hmmmm.... a strange warp vision has occured!!!
His eyes avidly taking in the alien tech arrayed in the large rooms, Occux brings his mind back to the mission at hand.
"I suggest investigation of the smoke. If the Ork-heretics have conjured up some heinous contraption we may be in danger."
Occux pokes around through the storage rooms, stopping to invesitgate the arcane numbering system or the complex naming conventions for some of the items. "Though thoroughly heretical, one must admire the logical mind behind such an enterprise....and be completely aware of the danger said individual presents." he says while peering at a flask of frozen xeno embryos.

With his expressionless gaze fixing the GREL soldier in place, Occux snatches the his firearm from his grasp.
His motions practices and precise, Occux commences to field strip the rifle, applying a touch of holy machine oil here and there, a liturgy of prayers to the Machine god whispering through his lips.
A short time later the rifle is once again in one piece. With a brusque motion Occux presents the now operative weapon to the grateful soldier.
Occux pulls open the door then steps back and kneels to aim his carbine.

Looking up from the cogitator, Occux looks at Jacques "It would seem that a comprehensive schedule of xenological experimentation was being performed in this facility - mainly under the supervision of this man" he says pointing to a screen showing the tall "Lord" performing a vivisection of a unfortunate ratling.
"While not heretical in themselves, such investigations are by their very nature anathema to the ordered and logical extension of the Machine God's Will"
Rising from his position, Occux enters the surgery room and impassionately regards the organic remains scattered about. Surveying the room he seeks any lab cogitators with which to interface.
His las-carbine aimed at the ork's head, Occux's cool dry voice emerges from his face grille "His statement is true, death is your only option if resistance is continued."
Calmly assessing the threat presented by the imposing greenskins, and also ignoring his companions shouting, Occux aims at the flamer-wielding orc and fires a volley of Laser bolts .

From where he crouches against the wall, Occux comments "Experimentation with unreliable organic entities is always frought with unknown dangers."
Occux nods at Jacques' comment, "The largest power draws are not listed in the schematic, but access must be present. If normal means are blocked, finding the power conduits that serve these areas may provide ingress."
Occux nods as JT's question and consults the schematics downloaded into his slate.
He analyses the layout of the facility, trying to determine if there are alternate ways down, such as stairs or service tunnels.
