Only the foul venoms of the demon sap my strength. I will persevere though.

Looks like Nilus is within 10' range of the creature. Edit: If the one nearest to Nilus dies, then he charges the second one. Ofc then he only has the single attack

Ok, scratch that then.

Nilus stands about 10' in front of Milamber and readies himself to protect the archmage from an attack.

Not sure what the actual readied action is? Movement to move in between the creature and Milamber? Also, Nilus will use Draw Fire liberally if the creature respond with ranged attacks

Draw Fire:

Hey!

Thank ya'll so much for letting me join.

I played this guy a couple years ago in a WOTR campaign that ended just before Book 4, so basically right along where you guys are.

A very quick background on him. He was a cavalry officer who volunteered for the new Crusade and then had his entire company butchered by demons. He fell into a deep depression that was only lifted when he began attending services ministered by Sosiel Vanic. He became an ardent follower of Shelyn, especially her focus on redemption and repentance.

He is very close to a pacifist, and will approach most conflict with an eye towards turning evildoers away from their path. However, like his mistress he does understand the need for violence.

In the previous campaign he had turned several NPCs off their path and was getting a following, thus the Divine Source mythic powers.

In this campaign, my idea is that he was affected by the Wardstone, just like you all, but instead of following you he began doing missions for Queen Galfrey instead, and that's what has kept him busy.

I'll adjust anything you guys think won't fit. Thanks for having me, I absolutely loved this guy and I'm so thankful I can play him again.

The campaign longsword is called Radiance, and it turns into whatever weapon you want it to turn into....

But, maybe that's it.

Is it for ease of transition or something else?

Hi GM,

I played this character in a WOTR that ended. We left off almost exactly where you guys are right now. He wasn't a Paladin of Iomedae, rather of Shelyn. He was a semi-pacifist who always offered opponents a chance to surrender (unless they were demons or undead, those he destroyed) and in that game he had managed to atone a few of the different NPCs found (Jesker, Jestak, Joran Vhane) and then he spontaneously converted several former Lamashtan cultists who began worshiping him (thus the Divine Source mythic power). If you want to see my post history its all right here on this alias as I've left this guy alone since then. He has honestly been one of my favorite characters ever to play in this forum. I have lots of legitimate concerns with the mechanics of Mythic play, but the sheer scale of what it lets you do (play a burgeoning deity) is pretty awesome.

I wouldn't mind adjusting Nilus to meet he needs of the campaign, but I'd hate to completely rewrite him, I loved this character. (That's a Shelyn pun =))

Ok so I checked out the players guide and now I have a ton of ideas for a new character! I'll list them in no order of preference.

a wandering hermit (would be a Witch OR Shaman OR Druid class) (Probably 1/2 Orc or HalfHobgoblin if that's a thing; Frontier Healer trait)

a freshfaced homegrown ranger (Human Ranger (nirmathi irregular); Chernasardo Hopeful trait)

a displaced dwarf (Dwarf, any class really, Kraggodan Castaway trait)

a tough everyman (Human (or half elf) some martial class, Unbreakable Survivor trait)

Those are the four traits that really called to me, and so I came up with rough ideas for each one. I'd wait till you guys picked before I chose a path. One thing is certain, no Paladins this time. Ironfang Invasion doesn't seem like it would lend itself to that...although maaaaybe a Paladin of Erastil (However, Erastil isn't my cup of tea deity wise)

Everything I've ever read/heard about Jade Regent says there might be problems with running it in PBP (specifically the caravan mechanic). But then again we managed to use the mass combat mechanic here easily enough.

I vote one of the newer APs. (Not Strange Aeons or Iron Gods. I'm in SA and I'm running Iron Gods)

I'm enjoying playing as Nilus, but I very much share your concerns (in fact I've been voicing them since like book 2).

Honestly, I don't mind if combats become less important and we mostly skip the fights that pose almost no threat. So far, the Boss fights have managed to keep us at least relatively threatened.

All that being said, I know GMing this cannot be an easy task.

Ok, so I went through and zeroed out all the stuff that we claimed and that I thought Ayesha might need (Blessed Book, Vang's Spellbooks, Arcane Scrolls) I then "donated" that Holy Longsword to Irabeth and a Keen Glaive to Sosiel. Even after all that we end up with like 217,288GP in loot. Divided 4 ways thats 54,322GP, like way more than Nilus needs to build his church, and then build Jesker's church

Everyone should take a look at the loot log and put those claimed items somewhere on your sheet.

re:Loot

Is someone able to edit the sheet and figure out what each person's share is? I don't really have anything I'd like to buy for Nilus...but he does have a few debts at this point. (Jesker's Shrine, The Temple of the Rose etc.)

GM, just in case you are wondering what my goals are for the NPC's I'll lay that out here.

The former Lamashtans: Eventually, atonement (per the spell) and then they become the seed from which Nilus' clergy is based. (Redeemed evildoers)

Jesker: A thriving Shrine to Community and atonement (per the spell)

Jestak: Adoption of the Wintersun and eventually resettlement, I don't think the atonement spell is necessary as she just requires an alignment shift (from CE to anything nonevil/nonlawful)

Joran: I think he's well on his way, but the atonement spell might be necessary to finish his redemption.

Chorussina: I honestly don't know. I'm waiting to hear from Irabeth.

Nilus' Consumables Nilus' New Friends Paladin 7 Sentinel 5/MT 5 Guardian | AC 27 T 16 F 26 DR 5/EPIC | HP 166 | F +18 R +13 W +17 | Init +8 | Perc +13

GM, I'm gonna write all this as a 3rd person narrative so we don't get bogged down.

Nilus is enthused by Gwerm's assistance. While he never really "liked" Horgus Gwerm, Nilus does recognize his unwavering support for the Crusade and his tireless efforts to keep the Crusade going logistically. Clearly Gwerm helping will make building the Shrine of the Blessed Rose much easier to accomplish.

Nilus enjoys his time with Aron, he sees what Sosiel loves about the man. Nilus assures Aron that he will visit with Jestak and the Wintersun and see what can be done. Nilus makes a note to visit with General Irabeth and bring her the gorgeous Armor of Yaniel, as well as inquire about Chorrusina's fate. Nilus smiles at the work that Jesker is doing. Erastil is a dour god, but even dour gods have their place. Stability is important afterall. Tradition is a comfort, especially in times of conflict.

Nilus doesn't try and dissuade the three former Lamashtans from worshipping him. He knows that he is different, he knows that some strange power flows through him. His only wish is that they remember who he serves, and they set aside some of their time and devote it to the Rose as well. Nilus is very pleased with the three and leads them in prayer and contemplation for as many days as they can muster in Drezen.

Nilus will invite everyone to be present if they are in Drezen for this next bit. Didn't we gather some vital intelligence in the Lair of Vang?
Then Nilus resolves to visit with Irabeth. He has the Armor of Yaniel oiled and polished to a shine before placing it in a case and bringing it to the General.

A gift, for all your efforts here M'lady. Your knowledge and steadfast courage have aided our efforts in this Glorious Crusade against the forces of Darkness.

and once they have a moment, Nilus will inquire as to Irabeth's intentions regarding Chorussina. While in the Castle Drezen, Nilus will visit with Joran to check on his spiritual progress and the Forge of Redemption.

Next, feeling a bit busy, Nilus pops in on Jesker to visit the Shrine of Erastil and give the man a few encouraging words. He will also have Horgus Gwerm send 500GP to the Shrine as a donation from Nilus' own personal wealth.

Finally, Nilus goes to visit the Wintersun. He tries to gage their mood and reaction to the Crusade, as well as their spiritual leanings. He will either influence them towards the worship of Erastil, Shelyn, or Iomedae depending on what he senses they need most, spiritually speaking. He spends as much time as he can visiting with Jestak and encouraging her to find a sense of purpose within the Crusade beyond simple battle. His advice is to make the Wintersun her own tribe, and for her to lead them as a wise and good leader should. So, he attempts to arrange a visit between Jesker and Jestak, so that the man might have some influence over the wayward Barbarian.

Nilus heads over to visit his friend Sosiel.

Nilus is interested in having a small Temple to the Blessed Rose built in Drezen and he hopes that Sosiel would assist him in this endeavor. In Nilus' mind this Chapel wouldn't be an ostentatious display, just a small place to hold services and care for the ill. Eventually Nilus would want to add a place for art to be displayed and created as well as a place for a holy order to live.

GM, I've plotted out the cost and build time for a small chapel using the Ultimate Campaign rules for such things . The particulars are all spelled out in the Nilus' new friends link on my profile. But, the important bits are 1500GP cost and 68 days build time.

He will also ask after Sosiel's lover Aron Kir and see how the man is battling his addiction.

In turn, Nilus will spend time with all of his wayward "flock".
He checks on the berserker Jestak(and the Wintersun Tribe), the demonbound Chorussina, Joran and his Redemption Forge, the fallen Cleric of Erastil Jesker (Nilus will donate gold towards Jesker's Shrine of Erastil project).

However, the great bulk of Nilus' time will be spent ministering to the needs of the three reformed Lamashtans. Nyx, Kuthie and Darus. He inquires as to their physical health (Nyx was once pregnant but a ritual cured her?). Most importantly, he checks on their spiritual health.

I put on the sheet that we will donate the armor to General Irabeth.

Nilus would want that all stolen/looted goods be returned to Drezen where they could either be given back to their rightful owners or failing that assist with the war effort.

Other than that, Nilus isn't claiming anything. He'll take some coin once things shake out to build his new church (the one that Sosiel has been working on).

Oh wow. That's a +5 weapon.... you guys can keep all the loot. I think Nilus is good.

The Armor of Yaniel. This would do much to bolster the spirits of those in Drezen.

Is there any reason to think that Nilus should switch from his Armor of the Pious to this armor? If not, Nilus' plan is to have Yaniel's armor either on Display at Drezen OR have it worn by General Irabeth.

I assume that Death Ward means I don't have to make that save each round. Thanks Dejik! @GM Nilus' AC vs the Daemon is 28 now due to Smite Evil so I don't think it hit him.

Nilus calls out Stay out of the room! Lady Dejik has made me immune to this beast's power. and he slashes mercilessly at the Daemon

Honestly Sarkast, I'd caution away from foebiting....its stupid powerful. We already suffer from rocket tag, Foebiting is one of the worst offenders in the Mythic rules. Actually combining that with Unstoppable strike means...well it means you're gonna one shot a whole bunch of stuff.

I'll level Nilus fully later on but I'm planning on taking a 5th level of the Sentinel Prestige Class

+1 BAB, +1 Fort save, +7HP (class+con)+3 HP (Exposed to Awfulness),+2 Skill points
Aligned Strike (Su): At 5th level, the sentinel gains the ability to bypass a specific type of damage reduction when wielding his deity’s favored weapon. Good: The sentinel can treat his weapon as holy if his deity is good.

Stalwart (Su): At 5th level, the sentinel gains mental fortitude through his constant meditation and adherence to religious tenets. He gains a +2 sacred or profane bonus on saving throws to resist divine spells.

Mythic Crunch Guardian Tier 5
+5 HP (Guardian Tier bonus)

Mythic Saving Throws (Ex): At 5th tier, whenever you succeed at a saving throw against a spell or special ability, you suffer no effects as long as that ability didn't come from a mythic source (such as a creature with a mythic tier or mythic ranks). If you fail a saving throw that results from a mythic source, you take the full effects as normal.

Mythic Feat (Mythic Iron Will): When you make a Will save from a non-mythic source, roll twice and take the higher result

Mythic Power: Draw Fire (Su): As an immediate action, when an ally within 30 feet is targeted with a ranged weapon attack, you can have that attack target you instead. If you would normally be out of range for that attack, the attack is able to hit you as if you were at maximum range. You can use this ability without using an immediate action by expending one use of mythic power.

@GM I'll be pretty much using Draw Fire all the time to protect Dejik,Ayesha and Arueshalae from Ranged Attacks. (Sarkast is nigh unhittable and usually invisible)

I believe he burned a mythic point for 2 spells....ouch. The great news is that everyone has Extended Mythic Endure Elements (fire resist 5 and cold resist 5).
