Here is my entry's profile. The background is coming shortly
edit OK, the background is done.
Shade sips it
Its got a bit of kick.
Shade sat quietly in the corner, nursing her drink. Her hood was drawn up over her head so that her features were shadowed to the casual observer. As she sipped, her left hand drummed on the table, with a mote of shadow dancing around her fingers.
She listened to the conversation at the bar. Hmm. That drink sounded interesting. She finishes her drink, and moves to the bar.
Hey, barkeep. Could I have one of those?
Hey back again. Still interested. By a new player do you mean a new to pbp player or something else? Any way Nel is up for action.
Hey, spiderbeard.
this is vladlena from your carrion crown game. This is a character from a failed game in this AP (completed the first bit only)
She is a shadow bloodline sorceror. Halfling of course. Sort of got a split personality, Shade who is very survival oriented, and nel, who is trying to find allies and friends in the world. She is very interested in what the shadow cloud is.
She would be easy to update if accepted.
And we need to get Gramlag some pants. Later, we need to finish exploration of those tunnels beneath the inn.
Shade sighs at Volk's action, nel giggles.
Well, maybe I might help one day.
Well, at least you're not a goblin.
Gramlag. Welcome back. You're looking...very orcy.
Good day priestess. Shade nods politely
We are here to seek your aid in restoring one of our companions to life and health. We have a scroll that can restore him, but not the ability to employ it. I believe you have already been paid for this by the late Saul.
On entering, Shade bows her head towards the shrine. Callista was always one of her favorite deities.
On hearing Naranae's comment she smiles.
I think with him, hate, lust and love are a bit confused, poor boy Nel whispers back to Naranae, with a giggle.
But be careful. This Rose has a thorn in it. Not that Volk will care.
Shades eyes narrowed.
You weren't right volk, only lucky
She was about to say more when she stopped, then smiled sweetly as she seemed to realise something.
Well, keep doing it She said, turning and walking away.
Volk, you could damage the scroll! Shade steps back, behind something solid. This could be bad.
how does a dragon smile? No lips. :)
Well she doesn't. A fiend is a fiend, big or little. Generally bad news as far as she is concerned
Shade stared. He couldn't be that stu... Of course he could be. He's volk. How to phrase it...
ah, volk, slow down a little. It could be trapped. Don't we have a key? Or other alternatives to simple hacking it open. You could damage the scroll.
Shade gives ternock a look. what is that tricksty lizard up to?
She shook herself. Not her problem for now. Another thing. Why was volk "kill the fiends", paranoid at large, dealing with an imp?. Or more correctly letting others deal with the imp.
Again she shrugged internally. More questions. She'll have to wait for answers.
She follows the others into the office, casting detect magic as she went.
Shade stretches, feeling the renewal of energy in her body. She casts prestidigitation, and then washes her face and dresses. She returns to the main room, looking for breakfast.
So we rest for the night. Don't suppose we level?
So we return to the Inn...for now.
or it could kill you. Eh, it's your stomach.
It would be helpful, Seniko. Seeker is low on healing, and I am close to useless as we are. I have a few spells left, but they are useless against the undead.
Volk, why are you always the contrarian? If we spell users recover our spells we will all be safer. This place will wait.
She then notes Ternock getting his snack. er...Ternock. Are you certain you should eat that. It may make you ill.
I vote for rest, then exploration. Remember, the Inn could be attacked behind us, trapping us here.
I don't think that scroll is lying around here. This tunnel complex is looking fairly extensive. If we continue exploring, we should do so rested.
Shade assumes her position in the party
Shade checks the wand with detect magic
spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
You know, if opening the chest triggers a trap, volk's last statement will be most...ironic
Shade pulls out her light crossbow, and loads it. She steps slightly to one side and keeps watch.
What's going on? She yells, unable to see the action
Seniko wrote: sorry I forgot you :)
"Miss Nel, would you take the rear and look out for any creatures or dangers that we passed without noticing them. "
"Ternock, would you fly over us and look out for anything that we can't see from the ground and things above us."
no problem, my character was miffed, not me. :)
Shade position at the rear of the party
Perhaps I should mention, I can see well in total darkness. Shade says, somewhat irked that Seniko left her out of her accounting.
Then the sensible thing is to rest for 32 hours then.
I wanted to, but some the suicidal in the party wanted to act immediately
Shades eye goggle for a second. You kept an owl in your backpack? I hope you don't keep your food there. Isn't it messy? She moves over to the pit.I'll go down too. I'm quite good in darkness.
Shade smiles at volk. well that may be the case. We need to know what this place is. I wasn't saying not do it, just be cautious.
be careful. Much of our magic was used up in the fight. Let's not have another.
It means traps saul set before he died. But why he set them against us down there?
So...what do we do now? I mean, we haven't any plans after get saul, do we? So now what?
Shade watches the murder of the gendarmes expressionlessly, as inside nel cringed at each death.
Kill them outside Volk. Or you are cleaning the mess up.
Shade looks at Naranae. She smiles
Revenge makes Riddleport work, I thinkIf This place is a cess pit. If the gendarmes come back, they'll die. But it's not them I'm concerned about. The overlord and that blasted mage. We get caught between them...that would be bad. But if we give them pause...
She hops off the chair, stretching.
truthfully, ask the cleric for a moral compass. Kill them or don't. Oh, and that's a good idea, dragon. You don't need the body to go, Ternock. Just the head. Don't want some ally raising him after all. As if someone was stupid enough to do this.
You still around imp? What's your opinion on the guards? Kill em, or ruin them? I'm curious what you would do.
these men were sent by their boss to guard this inn at the behest of another man. Have they killed. Most certainly. But so have we. I don't know if they participated in the recent killing, but they might have.
Shade leaned back in her chair
but they might not have. And you gutting them will achieve nothing. Alive they are a warning we send to those who think themselves our betters. By releasing them we show our contempt for them. By humiliating them we show strength.
She looks at volk
and we also show kindness behind that. We tell the rank and file of our enemy that if they surrender, we will not kill them out of hand.
oh boy, philosophy time. :) roleplay time
Volk, there are many ways to punish those who do wrong, many of those punishments are short of death.
She takes a seat at a table and gestures to volk to join her.
I am not the best at this, but I will try to explain. There are codes of conduct we tend to follow in our culture, and a person in judged by how they follow them. I am a sorcerer of shadow, and at heart a thief in many ways. Some would call me evil. You have powers that are very dangerous, and although you know how to kill, you don't know if you should. Here is a hint. If someone has yielded, or been rendered harmless, you should not kill them out of hand. Otherwise you are no better than them.
