AFter Navarre walked into the room outside the docking area, informed the others of the pods and pirate he rolled knowledge checks. All the other players posted before Navarre entered the docking area. Look at the order of posting, I actually asked Orion if he was still with Navarre before he entered the docking area. I was also under the impression that Cable could make the engineering check, which he attempted before Navarre entered the docks. You had posted the tech thing, you could have told us that Cable failed the engineering check, it may have changed navarres actions. You posted rounds started after Navarre posted he went into the dock area
So your robots get double moves before I can move into the room? Navarre "Two-Fingers" wrote:

Someone has moved Navarre back out of the docking area and put Orion with Cable after he clearly said he was with Navarre. Before everyone could go, the robots move again, I'm very confused about the order of things, why my character was moved, and why all the players weren't permitted to go before the robots/pirate. It feels like we're retconning things, and I'm not sure why.
Did he not go past the docking bay doors? I had posted Navarre "Two-Fingers" wrote: You posted GM_Panic wrote: As Navarre he can see a robot get between him and the 2mil Cr target. So he can't see her anymore. He can hear Nathan's frustration and explanations saying the cryotubes need to be put back into working order fast. My assumption was that as Navarre moved into the room, the robot moved between us.
OK, that makes more sense, I may wait until Cable communicates the failure, I'd posted Navarre halfway into the docking bay, with a robot stepping between him and their prey. Guess the question is whether the Varg would rather hunt or save the officers life. I'll wait for a couple more folks to post. Edit GM_Panic wrote: The officer coughs up more blood, And as Nathan realizes the cryotubes have been taken apart for maintenance. It would take a trained engineer to get than back in working order before the officer dies. Sorry, I'd assumed this meant Cables roll had given him this information and he could attempt the repairs. Not that he had failed the repairs already.
if he can't make the dc Navarre only has + 1 more, there is no guarantee Navarre will make it either. I've asked Caleb on discord what he wants to do. Which section of 'engineering' is the specific training for? I assume it's life support? but I don't see anywhere in the rules that says a person with general engineering training (ie rolls a'0') can't make the 'trained rolls.
Orion "He That Seeks" wrote: Orion was moving with Navarre to clear a route, per my last post. Sweet, that's what I thought, no one moved on the map so i was just making sure :) As Navarre moved towards the Docking area doors, he realizes Cable has started interacting with the cryotube. Chuckling at Boom's comment about 'rigging the doors' Navarre smiles a wolfish smile, "Don't worry we'll stop her." Nodding to Orion, he opens he docking area doors, moving into the docking bay, shotgun leveled at the would be escaping pirate, "Hold right there, I'd rather not kill you." Basically just moving into the room, so he has a closer shot if he needs one.
Was anyone moving with Navarre? I know Boom said he'd aid Cable, Orion were you moving with Navarre? Turning back towards the doors leading to the docking area, Navarre tabs his radio, "Cable, there are two low berth pods in the side room here. I think we can use one of them for the officer. More importantly I think our 'prey' is headed to a ship in the docking bay. We probably should stop her." Does he recognize what sort of robots are prepping the ship, or anything about the ship itself?
Nodding at Cables explanation, "If we are sending someone back to the ship, we should make sure the way is clear." He nods back the way they came to the nearest door. Listening at the door, he waits till Boom and Orion are near. Then, shotgun in one hand, opens the door with the other. I've moved Navarre to the door he's opening, once Boom and or Orion are near.
Letting the captain worry about the officer, Navarre quickly relieves the corpse of its shotgun, bandolier, and comms unit. Looping the bandolier over his shoulder and attaching the comms unit to his ear, he slides the shotgun into the scabbard on his pack usually reserved for his own weapon. Sliding two shells into his shotgun's receiver, he moves into the hall, telling Cable and the others, "I'll keep an eye out while you check on the officer."
Rolling to his elbow Navarre stands. Moving quickly to the dead pirate nudging the mans shotgun away with the toe of his boot just in case, Navarre quickly searches the man. Hearing the 'officer moan' he looks up, "Cable he's alive, can you do anything for him?" After asking, he picks up the man's shotgun and looks at it. Storing the weapon in his pack, he quickly investigates behind the barrier, looking to see if the fellow had any grenades left.
Having dove into the corner, Navarre realizes the enemy has advanced. Rolling from his side to his back he brings the shotgun to his shoulder. Pointing the shotgun at the small of the mans back, Navarre squeezes the trigger. shotgun: called shot: 2d6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 - 2 = 10 damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 2) = 18

Ok a little confused, Boom got moved down the hall on the map, but Navarre didn't get moved into the other room. For some reason I posted ' into the south eastern corner' that was the direction from him, but he moved to the the south west corner of the room the shooter was in. I don't see how the grenade could have hit him. It would be simpler if we could move on the map. If not I will try and be more careful with my descriptions.
GM_Panic wrote: Orion goes behind the robot and shoots at into the room. Sorry to say just hitting cover. A small object comes back out the door. Its a grenade. Can you move Orion behind the robot or give us controls of our characters. Also could you mark where the grenade landed? HOw big is the scale? The doors look like their two feet, is it possible the hall is ten foot and the room 20x40 instead of 10x20? Hmmm the room the bad guy is in was a bathroom, more likely 5x10 than 10x20. So who knows.
Kicking the 'tin Navarre will wait for Boom's answer. In the meantime, if anyone with a higher talking skill would like to talk this guy out, I would not complain.
Trying not to look at his dead friend on the floor, Navarre racks another shell into the chamber, asking the officer, "Do you have eyes on the person commanding this robot?" As he steps, trying to get around the robot, he levels the shotgun at the thing. Squeezing the trigger the weapon roars again, point blank at the 'tin man.' Gun Combat: (Shotgun +2): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8 damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 1) = 11
Several things going through his mind at once, Navarre tries to figure out how they were going to let Abebe's mom know what happened as he tries to figure out who Billy is. Realizing the officers life is clearly in danger Navarre lifts his shotgun to his shoulder aiming it at the armed figure, squeezing the trigger the weapon roars in response. Gun Combat: (Shotgun +2): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 5) + 2 = 8 damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 1) = 12
It looks like the officer and Abebe straight, you and the Captain (Nathan "Cable") to the right and Boom and Navarre to the left. As the 'Officer' gives direction and heads down the hallway with Abebe, Navarre flips the shotgun's safety, "Stay safe everyone." and heads down the left corridor moving as quickly and as quietly as he can. skill stealth/dex: 2d6 - 2 + 0 ⇒ (6, 1) - 2 + 0 = 5

Maybe it's just that I havn't had any coffee yet but I'm a little confused: the officer said "Myself, Navarren" are you refering to Abebe as Navarren now? Second the officer said "Boom, Nathan check the left passage, Captain Nathan, Orion the passage on the right," May I assume that since the second 'Nathan' was Captain that the first 'Nathan' (checking the left) was supposed to be Navarre?

Vacc suit DC 6(edu): 2d6 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 0 + 2 = 10 Smiling as Orion took an extra power cell, Navarre nods to the 'carbine' "I was working on getting the pistols sized for our hands first. But as soon as were through this mess I'll get that carbine taken care of." Nodding as Nathan headed to get his gear, Navarre, looked to the officer, "Won't hurt to wait a second and let Cable gear up." Once the captain was back, Navarre shifted his shotgun and asked, "AYA, would you open the airlock doors please." As the doors open and the ship slows down, Navarre pushes off, aimed for the fortifications and the smaller of the two airlocks.
yes, there is a laser hunting carbine and a shock stick available, along with the laser pistol. I figured if I 'put them in a bag' you could use them or react in game as well. Panic, thanks for the info on which weapons are 'human sized' So apparently all the laser pistols are our size, but the carbines aren't yet. We had to take engineering rolls (I think that included time to do) to get the armor sized. I assume the same would be true of the carbines. So at the moment I'd assume the carbine is @ - 2 to hit. The above post I copied was what Panic added to what we found, then I broke it down to each individual, the original 'gear post' said: Navarre "Two-Fingers" wrote: Then Panic added these items, giving me the total I copied and pasted above: GM_Panic wrote:

Orion, this is the collection of gear we have so far, I figure it's only fair to give you the same. Panic, we clearly had time to modify the armor to human size. Did we have the time to modify the laser weapons as well or are we still @ - 2 to use them? edit: we never did sort out the particulars on the 'aslan swords' and...is the armor worn over or under the vaccsuits?
As they gather to meet with the officer, Navarre approaches Orion, opening a duffle, showing him the Aslan laser pistol, laser carbine and a stun stick. "These were here on the ship, there yours if You'd like them." He nods towards the bag, 'There are two extra powercells total of three, ten shots each in the bag as well." Extending the duffle to Orion, he holds up his shotgun, showing the 'Rocker' that he was armed as well. Navarre is also wearing a belt that has a laser pistol and stun stick on it as well. When the officer asks if they have any questions, Navarre smiles and shows his shotgun to the human, "Any chance I can get in the front, I don't thing anyone wants me firing this behind them."
His eyes widen, Navarre hops back on the radio, "Folks I think the smaller base has the ship in it." Pausing for a moment, he considered if there was anything he'd forgotten. Turning to the display he asks 'Shea that Flys' "AYA I can't see the back of that rock. Is there an open docking area, Or hatch to use the airlock, or are we going to have to 'space walk' over?" Orion what sort of gear would Navarre have noticed on your person? We have extra weapons, which Navarre will happily offer if needed
dc 5 sensors/edu: 2d6 + 0 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 0 + 2 = 5 barely Something is off Navarre told himself. there single ping back was delayed. As they waited the half hour Navarre's curiosity gets the better of him and he start playing with the signal. Testing it on the scanner systems, Navarre realized what happened. The other Transponder must be inside a base and its signal must have jumped to a close bandwidth local relay to the bigger rock base. Taking an educated guess, Navarre tweaked the sensors, looking for where the ping originated...
Activate transponder DC 7 (eng/ed): 2d6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2, 1) + 1 + 2 = 6 Wow... Hearing the officer on the comms, Navarre tabs the button on his radio. "Activating the Transponder now." As he activated the beacon, he heard the piece of electrical equipment, slight whirring sound and he smelled something burning. He waited for the incoming ping, hoping they had enough power to get a clear location.
Hearing they were coming close to he mining site, Navarre moved from the screen, checking all systems. Pausing for a moment he would grab a piece of gear, then go back to the screen checking information again. Eventually getting suited up and ready to be part of a landing party as he kept an eye on the systems. Panic, do you need any rolls from Navarre to get us docked safely?
hearing Cable's direction to AYA, Navarre turns to Orion, "That was Cable, he's our captain and medic, I think he just wants to meet you." nodding to the holographic AYA "Follow her to medbay, I'll head to engineering." He winks at the new edition of the crew, "Gear up in case we catch this pirate." As he moves to Engineering he asks, the AI, "AYA we'll need to keep moving to our destination, is there anything I should check, just in case?"
Orion "He That Seeks" wrote: Out of curiosity, is this something that is fairly common? An AI projecting as a hologram? Dude did you not see the tv show Andromeda? The ships AI "Rommie" could take hologram form and/or an android body. All Navarre has been able to do so far is hook up one of the hologram projectors to a robot so she can present herself when we're talking to folk outside of the ship. But I figure we'll have an android body for her in no time. So Panic and a couple of us we're playing in a M&M game that was a bit of a space super hero vibe. Panic was playing a similar ship/android character. That game ended abruptly, so he was kind enough to put this game together for us :) Edit: Oh and Smurf! Just because I want to hear Cable laugh...
Having heard bits and pieces of the conversation Boom had with the newcomer, Navarre waited near the airlock for the officer to stop speaking with the newcomer. As the officer headed back to the deck, Navarre extends a paw, "Welcome Orion, names Navarre, your right about the ship, an aslan model we found on the 'Rock'." He smiles, "That's where we're from as well." He gestures towards the ship, "She's called AYA, well her actual designation is 'She who flies' Bet you didn't know the naming style we use on the Rock came from the Aslans did ya." He paused looking at 'Boom', not wanting to make promises without talking to the others. "Can't promise anything about crew, we'll need to talk to everyone. But I can promise We'll give you a straight answer and a fair chance to make your point." Not trying to be subversive, it's just Navarre can't promise without a proper vote, I'm sure Orion would understand.
Sorry, wasn't really sure what to post
Orion "He That Seeks" wrote: I could also be from the same planet as the other PCs, but from a different tribe, maybe? Interestingly enough, Panic also said you could be 'Aslan.' I don't know if that interests you or not, I was just thinking about the 'naming convention' apparently that's where it came from.
Smiling at the officers answer, Navarre shrugs, "Can't blame a Varg for trying. I was just looking for a way to get my hands on some CO2 scrubbers." As the others escort the officer to the flight deck, Navarre heads to engineering. Prepping things for leaving, he listens as the officer explains the situation. Talking as much to himself as he is to AYA, "Well girl, it looks like we're going to be underway soon. May as well start getting things fired up." Panic, what engineering rolls do you need from Navarre
