He practically cartwheels back to the throne, flipping over the back. He clings to the headboard to give himself some cover as he watches the result of the lich's efforts.

If I am misreading and you want to be on the ceiling, then I will need a description of how you get up there. To my thinking if it is something other than running up the wall, which will mean you are still far away, I will probably need a roll of some sort. All good, seemed like a long distance to travel to maybe fall and get hurt. The wall is where he was headed. Nathan takes some time clamoring around the sconces. He clings to every crack in the masonry, sometimes with a single toe or finger, but somehow he's able to keep himself moving across the wall. Nathan also keeps his distance from the muscle so he doesn't feel threatened. As far as Nathan's concerned, that one is Sora's to deal with.
Once he is in position at the back of the room, and if he is not being attacked, he will use his spear to pole-vault onto the throne.
"Peekaboo!" Nathan brings his spear up, around, and down onto the lich.
Now, Nathan is not wall-walking, and therefore does not have armor.

Shrugging, Nathan sprints across the wall, staying above people's heads, and using the length of his spear to judge his height from the ground. Staying [Reach] +3 feet off the ground. In his mind's eye, he practices the pole-vault he'll need to take to clear the distance from the wall to the throne. He hopes any attacks aimed in his direction come while he's on the wall, where he has the space and leverage to mitigate the attacks. He has 1 armor while wall-walking. Mirror's Edge: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 = 12 Let me know if there are any obstacles between Nathan and the back of the room, or if any attacks come his way. If he still has hold when he reaches the back of the room, he'll use it to vault on top of the throne. He can't leap like that and use Death from Above (yet) So once he's there it'll just be a Hack and Slash from Close or Reach, depending on the height of the throne.

Gasping for breath, Nathan peels the whip from the whipmaster's hand and throws it across the room. Then, he rolls into a sitting position on the floor. Needing a minute to cool off and catch his breath, he looks around the room. Are there any obvious details to the room? (Dressers, cabinets, sconces, etc.) What can Nathan clearly hear from this room? (Such as an end to the combat outside) Once he's had a breather, he checks the whipmaster (and/or the obvious features of the room) for useful items.
When he's done with the obvious, Nathan checks the less obvious. He checks cracks in the wall for drafts, pulls on sconces, searching for signs of Ezio's rumored cell.

At what point were we supposed to understand this room had mechagodzilla in it so we could avoid it? I'm through wasting rolls trying to fictionally position my way into a position of equal footing. One of the two of us is dying in this chamber, and I'm still not sure if this encounter is worth surviving. I don't get the feeling you're a fan of my character. Around the time you cheered my second partial success out of ten rolls, I started to feel like this wasn't about David taking down Goliath through wit and luck, but a killing trap closing on an unnamed vermin. How many aditional damage rolls did you want me to roll on Nathan? Nathan blindly stabs at the prone figure until it stops moving or he blacks out.

They're still not bound? I don't understand what I gained from one and a half successful rolls. If he's bound, can he effectively use his armor? I may still be at risk for repercussions from the living whip with a hack and slash, but it would be fairly easy to find a joint in his armor, or stab him in his neck from up close if he can't move. I don't decide when a wall is too high. When you introduce the room, you describe it. All you have to say is that the ceiling's too high. We don't need a number to have to remember. You can decide that on a room-to-room basis. A relatively comfortable ceiling with fixtures like support beams I would expect Nathan could likely get up to, but nine times out of ten, he will use a wall to get up to the ceiling (his patented corkscrew maneuver). Most of Nathan's action has been in tight tunnels and small rooms with the exception of the Orc nest, where Nathan had already gotten onto the ceiling, and I stopped to ask how close I could get without alerting them. The core of this class is that he can traverse walls and ceilings almost as if they were floors. You can set obstacles, but if I don't know about an obstacle, I can't roll to overcome it. Falling ten feet, like you said, posed a challenge which none of my moves could answer. If the walls of the whipmaster's room were covered in blades, then I'd need an extra hold to parkour safely past them. If there's no ceiling, I might not be able to drop down on someone who is too far from the wall. If I only have one hold, and someone is trying to whip it good, I can only avoid that attack, and wait to roll again. I think the real issue here may be that Nathan's Death from Above doesn't have repercussions on a 7-9, but to be above someone I have to either start the encounter on the ceiling/high wall, or roll Mirrors Edge first, and use a hold to get up there if there is a clear path. That's two chances for a 6. It only looks OP now because I've rolled like eight 10s. I also had no business getting away from that 7 without some damage. The danger was clear, and I chose to try to complete the move anyway. At the end of the day, Nathan's in his element, and he's still only managed to kill one goblin and keep the whipmaster occupied for a few rounds after nine rolls which each had a 10% chance of complete and total failure. That's also ignoring the fact that if any of the mirror's edge moves had been 7-9s, he wouldn't have had the hold to do all the fancy maneuvering. I'm also sorry if I've been posting too fast.

No effect to "Kidnap them - you retreat to somewhere nearby, taking them with you"? Not even for narrative fluff? I'm sorry I didn't reference the line directly, but with that 12, I would get two actions. Wherever they are, Nathan, knife in teeth, uses his long limbs, freedom of movement, and strength (and the fact that he's well inside the range of any described weapons) to grapple the whipmaster into submission and begin tying him down.

		   That's a whole lot of bad stuff for a 7-9. Admittedly, that's what it'll take to have a chance putting down Nathan. I mean, he's dead as soon as he gets a 6, but until then... Mirror's Edge: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11
 Death from Above: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 6) + 2 = 12
I'll bet there's nothing but arid desert outside. Not a wall or tree for miles. We'll never see another ceiling again.

On the topic of equipment: Nathan just wants the chained bucket because he's going to have magic grappling hook powers soon, and eventually, magic rope weapon powers. Other than the knife, there's not much else he needs. Armor, eventually... He'll be very interested in any bullwhips we encounter in the whipmaster suite, magic or otherwise.
