![]() My campaign began as a swamp-based sandbox with hints of Golarion in the process of 'moving on' ala the Dark Tower books. Possibly culminating in a stand off with The King in Yellow. Following a few adventures, I am considering offering the PCs the opportunity to turn the small village of Baton Morte into a new kingdom in the Sodden Lands. Does anyone want to offer suggestions about the kingdom building rules for a disease infested marsh? Do I drain swamps for farming? Or have them farm algae that can be pressed into food? Fish farms? Or is the unforgiving swamp just too much to build a kingdom around. ![]()

![]() "Running away? Or running too? Where the devil is this contraption taking us?" And can this contraption keep up with the this pace? "Gnome, you seem to know something about horses, can you slow this damned thing down?" Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Better safe than sorry... Casts Mage Armor on self. ![]()

![]() "Grahhhh..... mmmmmm.... Pain builds strength" Nagual shakes his head to clear the cobwebs, but the dizziness that follows stops his actions. "None of you look like you have come from the cold" Who are they and where am I? Best keep my cards close to the chest for the time being.. Turning to get the cut of his companions jib Nagual exclaims "I need a drink... Who's in? Firewine?" ![]()
![]() Izazael, Drow Demon Desciple Cleric Preliminary Background: As a middle child in the family, Izazael was primarily left alone to his studies, his imagination, and his art. At a young age, he found himself pulled towards painting, writing, and music. But it was the dreams of a yellow robed ‘man’ that led him along a less traditional path and soon Izazael became a ‘priest’ in the service of a mysterious and ancient voice of chaos and ‘the random.’ ![]()

![]() GM - do you have an example of how combat will be handled? Curious and I would like to get ahead of the curve and not slow down our progress. And if possible, I would really like to do my own rolling. If it does slow us down however, I will gladly cede my dice bag to you :) ![]()

![]() Nagual Shub-Khuul stands 5’9” tall – is wiry but not weak. His long black mane is braided several times with threads of white, grey, and black. These qualities, however, are almost entirely overshadowed by his prominent tattooing (covering his face, chest, and arms). Nagual is an ocean of multi-colored rippling inks. It seems that the only parts of his body that aren’t tattooed are the dozens of scars that cover his body. Flesh burns from countless battles with gangrene along with self-inflicted slashes make Nagual an intimidating sight indeed. Also often wearing a pristine heavy bone helmet made from the carcass of a juvenile remorhaz. An actor... Perhaps think Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex? ![]()
![]() I gave our party oracle (character specific) a razor that could change into (and grant proficiency with) any weapon as a move action. Also, the weapon always hit no matter the die roll. BUT for each point that the oracle would have missed by, he took one damage. Against very high AC creatures, there was a difficult decision. ![]()

![]() Cool cool - quick question. is +1 Con mod a stat bump and Speak with Spirits a separate ability, a +1 Con mod to anything Con based (i.e. endurance checks), or +1 Con mod that is applied to Speak with Spirits. I will treat my new buddy with the respect he deserved (or earns). :) Can't wait to meet the rest of you. ![]()

![]() Nagual studied the cups carefully. There would be no choice. He had always felt born of blood, sinew, scar and bone. While steel is a useful tool, the flesh is strong. A wiser man once told him “What use is the sword compared to the hand that wields it?” He reached forward and grabbed the bone cup. After breathing deeply of the foul smelling concoction he drank the cup dry… Great start - thanks much for the opportunity ![]()

![]() With a quick bow, Nagual turned and left the stranger to retreat to a quiet place to think. "Crazy witchdoctor" Nagual thought as he crumpled the parchment. "I’ll have to burn that later. So Petros, it seems your ‘research’ has found you in another bind. I hope less of a challenge than when I found you wrestling with that snow angle claiming to be his life-mate." "Ho, ho, ho, ho, … whew" he bellowed aloud despite his usual stoic demeanor." "So… great spirits or destiny. I say I make my own fate. And any sprits threatening to intercede. To the Hells with you!". Nagual spoke aloud to the nearby Tusk Mountains, "I will meet you stranger, and I will be prepared for your advice, scorn, wisdom or folly. You best be ready for mine." "Last I remember, Petros was in Ustalav. Perhaps the balmier temperatures may do this accursed skin flaking some good." ![]()

![]() Nagual had not paid much attention to the stranger, assuming that this stranger would be more interested in the 'sisters' than Nagual - a simple hunter. However Nagual's limited arcane training allowed him to recognize at once that the stranger was a powerful caster. Well...at least more powerful than he. This 'unorthodox' introduction only served to cement these feelings into a foreboding sense of unease. And follow? Nagual's father had told him - never leave the tavern during a tavern brawl. Shrugging these feelings aside, Nagual spoke with a voice much less fearful than he had expected. "Aye and well met, say your piece. But lead me not into temptation." ![]()
![]() Shub and the Professoer : Not long after Shub’s release from the White Witches he encountered Professor Petros Lorrimor who was part of a research expedition exploring the Realm of the Mammoth Lords’ Tusk Mountains. Shub was hired to act as a guide for the expedition but was generally distrusted and alienated by the members of the research team. Prof. Lorrimor, however, took an immediate liking to Shub – being able to get past the quiet stoicism and intimidating appearance of the Northman. Following the expedition (where they found several interesting artifacts relating to an extinct cult of star worshipers), Shub followed Prof. Lorrimor to Ustlav in order to learn ‘more civilized ways of behaving.’ Shub was working as a laborer in Ardis when news of the professor’s passing arrived by raven. |
