I propose a compromise, we need to get at our memories. No question that is priority number one. However should the Halfling have plans for us that will get us killed beyond the one he already has in motion then it would be wise to learn of them. If he has created such a plan he will need some form of support that is not his house, I and Adrien can go through the underworld and see what we can turn up on Dice.

Molos briskly burns the papers in a oil lamp and puts a new letter into the covered box. I have finished reading the tome and at the end of it I found these numbers and this symbol... Do they mean anything to you? also inside the box you will find the tome itself opened up to the pages where the numbers and seal are. what you find by reading: 8-26 8-02 11-19 2-67 3-25 You also notice a seal on the back cover of the book, 2 dice with 8 pips up. Each set of pips forms a "D".

Once everyone is assembled Molos will call you into his office... What you See inside: As you enter you see a glowing hand (mage hand) holding a piece of paper. The paper is in clear block letters and say No Speech, on the desk you will find a box that is draped with a dark cloth. Inside this box you will find a source of light bright enough to read by(it's a glowing bottle gm). We will communicate via writing, all papers will be burnt for the purposes of secrecy...

Gregorvich:
This event would have to be an obvious show of defiance on the part of Sarini, even if it is merely symbolic I doubt Thrune is not going to punish them for it. What I suggest is that we put out a rather "scandalous" poem or such out in the streets that ridicules Thrune. "Evidence" will suggest that it came from House Sarini and Thrune will do the only thing it knows how... diplomacy to convince1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35

Molos sifted through the information and then a thought struck him, the offense doesn't have to be anything truly major...all it needs to be is insulting to House Thrune. Gregorvich: I have just realized what we need to raid the Sarini compound, you said that House Sarini is basically Thrune's personal plaything and if that is the case then there is another way. If something was to come to light that was a major embarrassment to House Thrune and if it at least on the surface it looked like a product of Sarini then the go ahead for a raid could be given.

GM:
From what I can surmise a recent "buzz" has taken over the noble houses, it would seem that I and my "companions" had our memories sold to Contract Devils in exchange for the Houses gaining power... The only way to regain said memories is to slay said contract devil, Sarini is one of these Houses and I need to get at that Contract Devil. Something tells me going in through invisibility would be a mistake, it is simply a trick that is too obvious not to be planned against. As such I need a different way in, what evidence would be needed to justify the Order of the Scourge knocking in the door and killing the Contract Devil? diplomacy check to convince Gregorovich to entertain this idea1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31

GM: The bad news is that if my suspicions are right then everything has just gotten far more complicated, the good news however is that one of us has regained our memory... Unfortunately said person is a man called "Vince", who is sadly an idiot. A combat capable idiot, but still an idiot who knows nothing of this. Now I need to ask a question, what is known about House Sarini?
male tiefling
Such talk and information from servants, slaves etc can be useful, but it is hardly concrete evidence that can keep a house under your fist... Documents however that detail illegal dealings, smuggling, assassination and even better sympathies with enemies of the State can be easily used to control a house. Besides that though as you so kindly mentioned earlier House Sarini has little to no political power... Which means little to no political protection, which means that the Order of the Scourge can have far more "leeway" in dealing with House Sarini. As for what I do now that is my own concern, attempting to sneak past the defenses is simply not going to work. Even if a spell makes you invisible it does not make you unheard, especially when your a hellknight going around in creaky, clinking armor...

Until one remembers something my dear, if anything were to happen to me the Order of the Scourge would be..."unhappy". Guess what happens when the Order of the Scourge is "unhappy" and add to the fact that if I am to die I will leave behind enough knowledge of my foes for the Order of the Scourge to have a "merry" time with them. The Order of the Scourge values me, I give them results that would takes days, weeks or even months of consistent torture to achieve. If I die guess who the Order of the Scourge is going to decide needs some of the "old fashioned" interrogation style? As for House Leroung we didn't have the chance to go after their secrets to an extent, the Halfling may have lacked ambition but he was a wizard. I will avoid facing such a foe until I have ensured that the battlefield favors me. As for pursuing this contract devil or not I believe it is best that we start finding out which noble will be the best to impersonate... I am certain that once we have the target selected Adrien can arrange the "change"?
male tiefling
One of us taking the form of a Sarini noble is the best plan, this is not just a chance to kill a contract devil this is the chance to make ourselves a bit more powerful... After all if one of us is a major noble then said noble could do some investigation into the deeds that House Sarini would prefer others not know about. You can imagine what a few inventive souls with time on their hands could do with that type of knowledge, plus lets not forget the entertainment value.
male tiefling
That is exactly what I am saying and it would be resources wasted, an alternative is available however... If they are still in business, as a child I was raised by the criminal underworld and I distinctly remember the alchemists who would operate out of back alleys and the like. They could if one had the coin give one several services, one of these services was what at least back then was called a "new man". Pay an alchemist enough and either give them a sketch of or even better a part of the target and they could make you the target for several hours. It will take a man who can lie through his teeth to pull off the impersonation but I trust that Adrien can perform the deed...
male tiefling
That has probably already been thought of and accordingly precautions will have been taken, to deal with the guards we need to take a different approach. If these noble houses are as paranoid as they seem that means that inevitably they must have secret passages and entrances in the complex proper... If we could find one of these passages or entrances and disarm the defenses we should be able to get at the contract devil.

Molos pulled out sheets of paper from his bag along with a few inkwells and quills. Pass me the contracts and I will transcribe their contents onto the paper, if our new found "employer" decides to stab us in the back then we will take him with us... I will be sending the "Many Plots of Molos" to you, GM soon. As for the apprentice she has been redirected into studying the "social" arts as part of her training as an enchantress until Molos regains his memories (she doesn't know about the last part).

I believe we all know who is claiming the Greatsword... I need to give the tome a more thorough examination before I can determine it's true value, I will also examine the headband. As for these bags, they are something a master thief would desire greatly...with one of them he could carry out a fair portion of the Thrune treasury I would wager. casting Detect Magic on the items, can Molos determine what they do?
