I also may make a ranger or hunter... Between those and a warpriest, I can't decide!!

Dotting, I will come up with a character concept soon. Playing around with using a Dwarf Warpriest of Torag!

Just give the application process a shot. While something like this could work, chances are low. GMs are in demand, and players are in no short supply. Sure it's a bit of a free for all to get into a game, but it gives you the chance to build a great character with an interesting concept. Plus, the chances are better that you'll get a serious GM if they have a serious application process with high admission standards (not always of course, this is the internet after all)

Otherwise, perhaps one of your current players in your ROTRL campaign would be willing to GM for you.

Who knows, you might get lucky!

Dotting! I too have no PbP experience, but I would love to participate. I will start thinking up character ideas. A halfling bard would be fun :) I'll get to work and will have an official application in by the due date.

Dotting, I will cook something up this week :) I have been wanting to jump into a ROTRL campaign for quite some time! I'm leaning towards a Shoanti Barbarian, but we'll see what turns out after a few days of putting together my application.

I would like to play. I have no PbP experience, but I do have RL pathfinder experience. I've been itching to play a witch for quite some time. I'll start working on a backstory/stat sheet and completing your application in a satisfactory manner (as soon as I read the player's guide tomorrow). Here's my sheet thus far: http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=267665

Yep, that I understand. Thank you for your response though! :)

Not to belabor the point, but it can be spelled out more plainly than that... by including the verbiage that I just posted for the arcane archer. Why include the "Spells per Day" information for one, and not for the other? The arcane archer also has a table.

It's moot now anyways, I've selected magic knack so I don't lose a CL when I prestige.

I see your point. My gut feeling came from viewing the ranger and paladin classes. The class description states that they are caster level -3. There is no such verbiage with the technomancer. The only way you can justify that "gut feeling" is by deliberately ignoring the Technomancer's class progression chart where the rate of spell casting progression is absolutely clearly spelled out.

Don't make assumptions about any class. Read ALL of the class material.

Well... I didn't want to assume, that's why I came here, to get a more precise ruling. I couldn't find what I was looking for in the class material. Notably missing is the following (copy/pasted from arcane archer):

"Spells per Day: At the indicated levels, an arcane archer gains new spells per day as if he had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class he belonged to before adding the prestige class. He does not, however, gain other benefits a character of that class would have gained, except for additional spells per day, spells known (if he is a spontaneous spellcaster), and an increased effective level of spellcasting. If a character had more than one arcane spellcasting class before becoming an arcane archer, he must decide to which class he adds the new level for purposes of determining spells per day."

It would have been nice to have something similar in the class material for the technomancer.

I looked up some of the other prestige classes and they have the verbiage I was looking for. I would assume that the same would apply to the technomancer. Thank you John, you were very much correct.

I'm actually thinking I will not be a technomancer, since I don't gain 2 new spells each level (major bummer), unless I'm misinterpreting something.

I tried to find clarification online, but I was unable to find exactly what I wanted. I'm planning to take the technomancer prestige class at level 7 with my wizard in an iron gods campaign. It appears that I wont get 4th level spells until my second level of technomancer (character level 8). My question, when I am a wizard 6/technomancer 1, is my caster level 7 for determining spell effects/duration? If I wouldn't be CL 7, would you suggest I take magical knack at character creation or should I stick with reactionary?

My gut tells me that CL will go up, even at 1st level of technomancer, but because I can't find the ruling I need help. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the complement! I couldn't remember my old Skype name so I created a new one: The.Milkmonster

Here is my character sheet (let me know if you have any issues accessing it): http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=241100
(I used a 15 point buy, obviously, if needed this is easily changed)

Description/Background:

Abandoned at a young age, raised on the streets of Torch, K'thun (no last name) found his place as an apprentice to a smith who smelt and crafted with skymetal ore. Despite being a quick study, his handiness wasn't learned in a book, instead K'thun repaired, tinkered, and created contraptions based solely on intuition, an unexplainable knack, or for a lack of a better term, instinct.

Constructs, machinery, other worlds and their mysteries have always captivated K'thun's mind. If charged with some menial task it's common to find the Sorcerer lost in thought, those thoughts most likely located out of this world.

K'thun's other work obligations (finished product deliveries, ore/mineral discovery) has caused him to become quite knowledgeable of Numeria, its features, and its inhabitants. In addition to speaking Hallit and Orc, inexplicably K'thun has also developed the ability to speak, read, write, and decipher Androffan.

While not a devout follower, K'thun has a general interest in the Clockwork Goddess, Brigh. While he doesn't hope to gain any divine power through this arrangement, as Brigh is the goddess of clockwork, invention, and time, K'thun believes that through her he may be able to come to a greater understanding of the technology present in Numeria.

K'thun stands just over six feet tall and is quite slender. Needless to say he avoids manual labor, unless of course he is working on one of his contraptions. His eyes and hair are gray despite his age, and when lost in thought or under great stress his pupils glow and start to resemble the spinning cogs of a clockwork construct.

Personality:

K'thun is aloof and relatively carefree. He's one to not sweat the small stuff. He feels that we are tiny specks in a wide universe and that our actions are mostly inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. He doesn't like to get caught up in the details, unless of course we are talking about his contraptions. K'thun enjoys building and repairing things, the more high-tech the better.

K'thun is generally sociable, easy to get along with, and he's always eager to learn something new. He is however not the best leader, choices for the most part are viewed as inconsequential and may annoy K'thun, if put in charge he may just quickly choose an option without fully thinking out the consequences. Despite this shortcoming, K'thun is slow to anger and well liked.

Oops, Skyhearth is the same person as Milkmonster... Apologies for the confusion!

Do you still need people? I was thinking a sorceror with the impossible bloodline might be fun. Any chance, we could meet slightly earlier (maybe by a half hour or hour)? I am still interested regardless, but if not, there may be some days where I have to leave a little early. Also I have vacation starting June 27th from which I'll be returning July 3rd, but that looks like it won't impact the every other week schedule.

If you are interested I could build my character this weekend :)

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

I've searched, but my google-fu is weak. I know there has been a ton of questions on sacred summons and it being no where close to as awesome as it initially appears. My question pertains to the synergy (or lack thereof) between these two feats. More specifically, my character is a NG cleric of Sarenrae (a NG deity). Will I be able to cast as a standard action the NG animals listed under the summon good monster creature list?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I have a question regarding the persistent spell metamagic feat. If a person were to apply this metamagic to sanctuary, when a person attacks or casts a spell at them, do they have to succeed on two saving throws (will) to break through? I'm planning to use heighten metamagic to keep sanctuary viable, and in theory it looks pretty awesome. Persistent spell would be the icing on the cake. Can I have my cake and it it too?

I'm in Elizabethtown PA and might be interested. I would love a PM. The times would actually work for me.

Thanks for the reply Marc, I sent you a PM.

My pathfinder group recently disbanded, the gm moved and the other players are busy with their families. Are there any groups looking for another player? I'm a 26 year old guy, just looking for some like-minded people that are ready to get lost in an adventure.
