Grand Lodge 4/5

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th-level pregenerated characters.

Years of political maneuvering, espionage, smuggling, and diplomacy have set the stage for the Aspis Consortium’s most ambitious attack on their Inner Sea rivals: the Pathfinder Society. All that remains are several key preparations that only an elite team of Aspis agents can arrange, and once the fireworks begin, these same agents must strike quickly and mercilessly to secure objectives—some shared and some connected to deeper plots—and escape without the Society being any the wiser.

In this adventure the players portray agents of the Aspis Consortium using 7th-level pregenerated characters. The events in this story also connect to and expand upon those in "Siege of Serpents".

The Chronicle from this event can be applied to a 6-8th level character.

If you sign up to play please indicate which Pregen you would be interested in playing in your character details:

Junar summed it up pretty well.
Also if you are new to CORE society play make sure when you register your character on Paizo.com that you do so as a (CORE) character, as opposed to a standard PFS character.

Standing in a wide clearing within the Echo Wood, the Emerald Spire is the ruin of a large Azlanti tower that appears
to be made of green glass harder than stone. The upper portions of the tower were destroyed long ago, leaving broken, halfmelted
glass blocks lying jumbled around the tower’s perimeter and the ground nearby. The site is well known to locals from
both Fort Inevitable and Thornkeep, and many travelers passing through the Crusader Road area make the trek into the
forest to look on the ruins—from a safe distance. The Spire’s ruins are known to be infested with dangerous monsters, and
the surroundings attract an unhealthy number of bandits, raiders, and hungry predators.

An ancient shrine of the serpentfolk, this temple has now fallen into the hands of a heretical serpentfolk cultist who has reconsecrated it to a terrible demon lord.

The Blakros family, long an ally of the Pathfinder Society, has come into possession of a manor house in the imperial nation of Cheliax, where a once prominent noble family was known to practice diabolism before the Age of Lost Omens. The Pathfinders' task is simple: clear the abandoned manor of any remaining threats before the Blakroses move in. Unfortunately, the estate hasn't sat empty as long as the Blakroses think it has, and its recent inhabitants were anything but the devil-worshipers who originally built the manor.

it is a bit frustrating to hear folks constantly talk about Season 6 as a tech season. So far, we've had 9 scenarios where only 3 are tech.
But the first three scenarios were tech. The Guide is tech. Tech PCs were introduced. The Season started with tech.

This has been a very common misconception with some of my local players as well as many online players as of late. Not to say everyone's reaction to that has been negative.

Also I have to agree about the rule bloat issue becoming increasingly problematic, however I doubt very much that is having an impact on the number of active players.

The online community's activity level seems to hit spurts of activity and it has been a bit slow in the wake of the most recent Aethercon, but we are heading into the holiday season which puts additional demands on people's time.

I share a similar opinion as many have already stated. As long as the whole table is having fun, then I am likely enjoying myself as well. However the thing I love in my games more than anything is theatrics, if the PCs are in character and making for a good story as they tear apart the NPCs then I am all for it.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Prethen, you only need a 20 to use a wand with UMD, usually you only need to emulate an ability score if you are attempting to cast from a scroll.

To answer your question, I have found the greatest value of UMD is to allow my characters access t the numerous handy 1st level spells, particularly personal spells that can't be made in potion form, such as Longstrider, Honeyed Tongue or Gravity Bow.

Also it is very handy to have ranks in UMD if you rely on spells like Mage Armor and infernal healing and can't always be certain someone else will be in the party who can use it for you.

My local FLGS offers a 20% discount to all GM's on days we run scheduled PFS games. Additionally they offer a 10% to players to also give players an incentive to try society play, who may otherwise still be playing home games exclusively.

I have seen some venues charge to play but I am not a big fan of the idea. I don't want to dissuade folks who don't have an extra buck or two from playing or take money that may otherwise be spent supporting my FLGS.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 1-2 and is replayable for credit with a level 1 character.

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.
