Menedemus will not pay attention to the sleeping cultist, but instead he will move immediately to Aeryx "Aeryx are you all right? Here, let me..." he will pull out Terendelev's scale and cast Shield Other on the Bird-like Aasimar.
+1 to AC and +1 to all saves, and all the damage that Aeryx takes is split between him and me

Having cast the pain sharing spell on Aeryx, the Tiefling will throw a quick glance to the unknown symbol.

Menedemus eyes, a few second before wandering around the shelves, will flash with a mixture of terror and rage as Aeryx is hit.
Oh no. Oh no. Aeryx has been wounded. It's my fault. Yes, surely that's it. If only I had attacked with more care before, I would have surely attracted their attention! Oh, why am I so useless...Maybe I was right when I thought it would have been better if I was smashed under one of the boulder from the collapse...
Then, instead to clear his head by cracking his tail, Menedemus will channel his frustration and self-loathing in a violent strike to the nearest enemy.

Menedemus will follow after Aeryx, aiming to attack another awake target, but he will be distracted by the eerie embalmed animals on the shelves.
Why are there so much mummified animals here?
Menedemus's rush of morbid curiosity will affect the precision of his attack, as he swings his weapon a little higher than he wanted to.

"I wanted to knock them out without killing them, too. Demons have black hearts and honeyed tongues: they could have swayed these people with false promises." Menedemus will glance for a second at the sleeping mongrelmen. "There are surely some of them that have fully went down a wicked path, but most people just follow the crowd and don't even think of what they're doing. There's still hope for the latter."

"I'm sorry for your loss Chief. But I swear on my life, I will do anything in my power to stop any further casualties, both here and on the surface" Menedemus will say resolutely. For a second, he will see a crimson feather float in front of him, only to disappear as soon as he blinked. Glancing at everyone else in the room, he will notice that he was the only one to see the feather.
What was that?

Seeing as everyone was waiting for someone else to talk, Menedemus will bow and greet the chieftain "Greetings, chief Sull. These are Lord Gwerm, Miss Anevia, Aravashniel, Steave, Aeryx, Leander, Aleister and Piety" he will say as he introduce the party, and barely remembering of himself "Oh, and I'm Menedemus. We came for the surface, and Dyra, Lann and Crell have been so kind to accompany us here: unfortunately, we bring bad news. Demons have managed to break the defenses of Kenabres and Terendelev has been slain: we think that cultist that hid in the city were responsible for this. We found the bodies of some of these cultists, follower of Baphomet it seems, in a nearby cave, and Crell mentioned they were probably colluding with a 'traitorous tribe'."

"We're sorry to bother you, you already helped us a lot by showing us the way trough the tunnels, but we're searching for a way back to the surface: there are certainly some survivors in Kenabres, and we have to get back to help them."

GMT +1,Rome. It's just that, being in the last year of high school, I have to study so much for my final exams that I sleep 6-7 hours a night at best.

Menedemus won't pay much attention to Steave and Leander bickering, but in conjunction with Piety's prayer they will bring him back memories about his days with the Iomedaeans.
He thought that the day he left his village to follow the crusaders would have been the day he would have found his purpose, but alas. It wasn't that the ideals for which they stood for were wrong, but Menedemus felt they were too...narrow, maybe? In the past, he never managed to quite put his finger on the precise reason for why he left, but recently, since he started hearing the Voice, Menedemus felt that the Iomedaeas weren't trying hard enough. The point wasn't battling demons, it was vanquishing evil. No, vanquishing wasn't the correct term: it had to be erased. And not only the evil in demons, monsters and irredeemable individuals, but also the evil in good people. The evil in himself...

Piety's mention of the symbol of Baphomet will prevent Menedemus's musings to take a dark turn. "Baphomet? Do you mean they were...demon cultists? Here, in Kenabres?"
While being very worried about what they just discovered, Menedemus won't be able to hold back a brief, faint smile.
'Evil' cultists in the 'good' Kenabres? Just what I was thinking about..."

Menedemus will nod at Steave and follow after him, focusing on each of the bodies to make sure that none of them were undead.
"I should have been more clear, sorry. I felt more than one aura of recently deceased, but it's strange. If they're all dead, something else must have killed them, right? But I didn't see a single living, or unliving, aura here...Beside ours, of course."
Having learnt from his past mistakes, Menedemus will move his gaze around, scanning also the ceiling, to catch if there where something else alive there.

Menedemus smiles at Aeryx's excitement for the cloak.
He must be really strong, to be able to get so excited in a situation as dire as this

Looking around the camp Menedemus will wonder at the group "How much time do you think the dwarf lived under here? Maybe there really was a Dwarven community under Kenabres, and some unspeakable thing happened to them, but what?"Menedemus will sigh "This place is getting more and more confusing as we go on...".

As they're about to move up the slope, Menedemus will offer his help at the civilians "Aravashniel, Miss Anevia, Lord Gwerm, do you need help climbing?"

The Paladin of group 2 here. :)
I wanted to say that I plan to ho the Oradin(oracle/paladin) route, so I guess that our hyerophant could also go light on the healing part and focus on buffing/smacking things, if you want. :)
Last thing: I'm the only one with an high CHA, but both our trickster and marshal have the trait thay applies INT modifier to diplomacy rolls.
EDIT:Thinking about it, maybe we're lacking in one thing: of the 5 of us who have remained, no one is really focused on the "redemption" concept that seems to be a leitmotif of the whole AP.

After a second to retake hold of himself after his violent ouburst, Menedemus will nod to Steave and follow the group, turning back to throw a quick glance to the room where they found the darkmantles.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Just realized I wasn't adding the Bless Bonus to my attack/damage rolls. It's also true I missed by a wide margin in all of this fight, tough <.<
A primal viciousness triggered in Menedemus's head: his self-hate turned into frustration, and frustration turned into a sadistic desire to inflict the greatest amount of pain possible on that flying creature. His blood boiling in his veins,he will move to the remaining darkmantle to strike a blow.
Greatsword attack roll: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 1 = 15
Greatsword damage roll: 2d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6) + 3 + 1 = 11

When one of the darmantles close in, Menedemus will attack it with an upper swing.
Greatsword attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Greatsword damage roll: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Menedemus hands will start to shake as soon as he doesn't hit his enemy
H-how could I miss again?...
Why was I only able to weaken that undead? Maybe that alone was my purpose, and now I should only stay still waiting for my final rest? Yes, surely I must soon die for one of the others here...
It's more than a fair trade, my worthless life for one of theirs. Look at how Aeryx slayed that beast in a shot! I could never do such a thing, and my slight contributions until now are only a proof of that...

Menedemus will stay close to Aeryx, his eyes darting left and right while his body start trembling slightly.

Keeping close to Aeryx in case the Darkmantles used the same tactic from before, Menedemus will slash at the one that attacked him.
Greatsword Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Greatsword damage roll: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8

From what I understand the Darkmantles haven't still flew back up. I'll leave an AOO in case they do (or did, and I was too dense to understand <.<)

AOO rolls:
Greatsword attack roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Greatsword damage roll: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8

Sorry for posting out of order.
I did it without thinking because in the other PbP I play here we group up the enemies and the party from the start of battle, making an average of the initiative rolls of the 2 groups.

Again, sorry. :(

"Watch out!" Menedemus will yell as the creatures attacks.
If possible, he will move himself to be between the NPCs and the bat-squids, and then follow with a vertical swing to the closer one.

Menedemus will move his finger on a scar on his forearm, and then throw a glance at his tail. Painful memories started to flood his head.
"Well" he will say with an hint of sadness in his voice "At least parents and children had each other. It must have been hard to live down here, but I'm positive that they would have had a terribly difficult life on the surface. From my experience, most people are not very open minded, and will always find an excuse to take their pain on someone else..."
Why am I suddenly complaining about that? If the people that fled here did so, it's because they were wrongfully stigmatized by others on the surface. It has nothing to do with me... I deserve every scar I've got.

Menedemus will move closer to the carvings and examine them.

"Maybe they're important crusaders from the past? I'm not one for historical studies, so I can't tell..."
How many figures are there?

Menedemus threw a quick glance at Horgus and Anevia
I wonder what she meant when she said that Horgus was 'afraid to acknowledge his own faith'? It seems they were talking like they knew each other...

Menedemus, too, moves in the chosen order, keeping an eye out in case he saw the flames of life of an enemy or a survivor.Deatwatch

At Aleister's question, Menedemus shakes his head "I don't have the faintest idea, sadly. Shouldn't the wardstone have kept them at bay?".

Unconsciously, Menedemus mind jumped to the moment of the attack: demons everywhere in the streets, fire, blood and screams left and right.
The screams, gods, the screams!
They echoed in his head, every time he closed his eyes, Menedemus could see the terrified eyes of Kenabres' citizens, that split-second before falling into the ground repeating over and over...

"We have to get to the surface" he will say while clenching his fists "We may have no chance against those demons, but we have to save as much people as possible. I won't rest until I have searched every street, every house, every building, I won't rest until I've made sure that I saved all that could be saved. And if I die doing that, my only regret will be that I didn't do everything in my power to save everyone..."
He stared in front of himself for some time, but after realizing that his venting was extremely out of place he will apologize to everyone "I...I'm sorry, that was uncalled for."

It couldn't be helped tough.
He knew that the only way to stop the screaming in his head would have been to go in the city and rescue all the possible survivors, but he would have never admitted that it was only to shake the guilt off himself.
And he knew that he would have been glad to die while doing that, but he would have never admitted that it was only because he wouldn't have been able to cope with his failure.

Sorry if I couldn't post in the last two days everyone! I had to study way more than I thought and I have been dead tired for the last 48 hours: if I tried to write something, it would have been mostly incoherent babbling. D:

On a game related note, I realized I did something incredibly stupid: Soulseer(the Deathwatch-granting trait) and the "You don't need to sleep" alternate racial ability both replace the Tiefling SLA, so I can't have both <.<

Well, I've already made ample use of Deathwatch, so I'll stick with it.

How was it possible? He cut all the ties he had with Iomedae, and he doubted that a deserter would still have her favor.
"I...I don't know. I'm not sure that my powers are still given to me by the Inheritor." he will touch his eyes as he respond to Steave "It's not the first time something weird happens to me since the attack. When we fell down here, I found that I could see if someone was gravely injured or not. Or so I thought. It seems I can also know if something is alive or not, like I did with that Haecuva."
Menedemus shrugged "Well, there's no use in asking ourselves questions. We have to get everyone to safety first, and answers will come by themselves in due time."
I hope...
