Mine looked goods besides that I regretfully must pass up some of the credits. I was playing out of the sub tier rather than at the correct level so my money gets cut some.
I thought the adventure was well designed. Lots of unique stuff and the final fight could of gone very badly. We were able to handle it well but it seems easy to get over run and the boss is tricky.
Thank you for running an adventure with me again! I think I will be taking a step back from the PBP world for a bit while I try to get my life back on track but I hope to play with you all again once I get back into it!
Your fiend has been defeated and there is a path of unconscious and dead of your kind in this location. Halt your efforts to stop us now to end this meaningless bloodshed! Medrick looks hopeful that the enemies here will give up but keeps his gun at the ready if they do not surrender. Readying an action to fire if they are still hostile.
Medrick is able to keep his eyesight even through the blast. So is the demon gone for good? These things down here don't seem to have a sign of slowing down!
Medrick then takes two shot at either the blue enemy (if he is still standing) or the red one.
Dusty drops the blue Jinsul with a well placed bullet.
I thought blue died last round?
If I was right:
Medrick takes another two shots at the incoming enemies hoping to continue to keep them at bay. He hears the commotion up above about the demon but he figures it will be back.
Medrick takes another two shots at the green enemy that is advancing. He takes a quick peek at the charge of his gun and sees he is getting low, but still has some juice.
Medrick moves over to the edge and pops another shot off, this time aiming at the blue enemy. You guys can work on the demon, I will try to keep the crowd under control.
With his back against the wall, Medrick is really panicking. Since they seem to prefer their guns, Medrick doesn't see a need to move away and instead tries the risky move of taking two shots with his rifle. Not much I can do to the fiend! We are getting over run by waves of these creatures.
The enemies are closing in so Medrick takes a panicked step backwards and tries to pop a shot off at the injured one, hoping to slow the onslaught that is sure to be caused by these things.
Static Arc Rifle (EAC, Brown):1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11Not the roll I needed right about now! Damage (Electric, Nonlethal):1d12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Move action to take a guarded step and standard to fire once
30 years? Nice. The longest running I have been part of has been one that was going for around 15. The started the study with prenatal mothers and we followed them till till there where 14. I left the study because I had to move to go to grad school.
Having the enemies out of sight and wanting to focus the injured ones down, Medrick moves up to Shoo. He then takes a shot at blue If he doesn't have cover. If he does, then shooting at green. We have incoming from the bottom!
I will have my master's degree in experimental psychology. I am interviewing for a job to be a data manager for a longitudinal study on adolescent development when I move back to New York.
I use a nonlethal weapon for that specific reason actually. I try to minimize the harm I bring. I can not control my actions, but I can tell you that I have never brought death to anyone by my own hands. It pains me to know that I help bring the end to someones's life when someone else is able to take the enemy down before me, but I have not found a solution for that. I will get the job done for the society, but I refuse to murder. Plus they have already done a bad action, they have captured our allies and now are guarding their freedom. I have never handcuffed myself, but I have always reported my actions to the Society, and always will. Even if the actions reflect poorly on me for I should be held accountable. It is clear that Medrick struggles to rationalize his all his actions in being in the society. He has never struggled with a conflict of morals with an ally before so this all comes to a shock. He... he seemed hostile about this?
I am waiting to see about cover ruling before moving/attacking.
I under your worry that he will aid in something bad happening, but we must give people the opportunity to do the right thing. If we murder everyone who might do the wrong thing, you can justify the worst crimes committed. Today's enemies do not need to be tomorrow's. This can be the foundation for a brokered alliance... and if you attempt to harm him, then you are no longer my enemy. I won't murder you, but I will intend on bringing you back in handcuffs.
Moving on...
Since no one laid claim to it, Medrick picks up the Tactical Magnetar Rifle. I really don't like dealing lethal damage... but a demon can't be redeemed, can it?. He also takes the cold iron cold iron cartridges that aren't claimed for a longarm. Anyone need any?
When we arrive and Medrick realizes that we aren't going strictly after the demon and that there are other guards, he starts to work out his game plan. He has his arc rifle out first since there is a chance to do the right thing with them, but keeps his other gun close at hand.Going back, I am not sure why I thought that the lightning demon was our main target here.
What is the game plan here guys?Do we have a clear shot at them now or would they have cover?
This upcoming week will be pretty crazy for me. It is exam week, I have a lot of work to do on my thesis, I graduate next weekend, and I am moving to a different state that weekend. I am still planning to keep my x2 minimum posting but that might not happen everyday. Feel free to bot if needed.
I am not sure how much of the conversation we are hearing. Medrick was planning to stay out of it since it seemed like Pangea was talking outloud while Shoo was in his head, but Medrick needs to interrupt when he hears the threat to kill this person.
I will not let harm be done where harm is not necessary for the job. What would we be doing besides proving that we are vermin if we slaughter them? Yes, their morals do not align with mine... but murdering them is not the way to get them to see our ways. All it will do is make them hate us more.
I am interested in taking any of those three rifles. M'shak seems interested in that one pointing to the assassin rifle so I am fine with either of the other two. Though if I took the magnetar rifle, I would also need to take some of that ammo because right now, I only have batteries. Medrick looks ashamed that he is unprepared.
I appreciate your information you provided us. Is there any questions you have for us? It seems only fair to offer something in return. Medrick tries to offer in hopes of this garnishing our budding friendship with the idea of equal trade of info.
Diplo (aid):1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
But Medrick is not a wordsmith and it comes off condescending rather than helpful.
I don't have the core book on me right now. I will read over chases when I get home. If I did something, I apologize, this is my first SF chase as well
Medrick recoils from the bite and takes a careful step backwards. These things are resilient. We need to focus one down at a time or else we will get overwhelmed. As much as Medrick wants to shoot the red one for revenge, he takes a shot at the pink enemy.
Life science dc 16:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27dc is reduced by 5 when using xenobiology
The odd creature is a jeskraal, a scavenger species native to neighboring planets that inhabit abandoned armor, carapaces, or other shell-like homes, migrating between them like hermit crabs when they become damaged.Sounds like a hermit crab.
Medrick takes the explosion on top of the two lighting bolts and really starting to look run down already. On the bright side, he does not catch on fire! He still continues to put on a brave face. If we stop to rest, we are just putting ourselves out here for longer to get hit again. We must keep moving.
Perception:1d20 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 4 = 9
I think that we are here on an information gathering mission. Missing a clear sign of new information would be a shame. I say we follow the tracks.
Medrick gets hit by the stray lightning pretty harshly. We should keep moving. I would rather get hit by that than risk us staying out here longer than we need to. I can rest when we get back to safety. You can tell that the blast shook the android but he is trying to keep a brave face.
Culture:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13These dice are really out to get me!
After making sure everyone else is alive, Medrick takes a moment to take care of himself and feels much better. Spending an RP to fill up SP
I have a 5 survival. I will roll if that is the best in the group.
Culture:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9I am really off to a rocky start with these skills checks.
Medrick wants to make sure he can see the incoming dangers so he keeps his surgical mask off for now. Can we change our minds of what we do after we see how bad the first hour hurts? haha
Before taking a moment to rest for himself, Medrick checks to see he the other passengers fared and tries to stabilize anyone who seems to be unconscious. If everyone seems okay, he then takes a moment to take care of himself.
This planet is nasty already... Either naturally or designed. Let us hope we aren't walking into a whole city of disaster like this.
Medrick nods at Shoo in approval of that his first instinct was to start helping others and Medrick joins in to help others himself, working independently than Shoo, knowing that Medrick is very well trained in medicine.
Medicine roll:
Medicine:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14There I go, getting arrogant with my high skill bonus... then roll flat.
Medrick is happy to spend his time helping the boss lady with whatever she needs. Diplomacy isn't his strong suit but he is knowledgeable and tries his best to apply that knowledge to her documents.
When Medrick is not helping Luwazi, he is volunteering in the medlab just to help with any odd work related injuries.
As far as I can tell (and have run my games) they work off of a separate power system that are not meant to be replaced. It is more than just batteries because it would include air filters/oxygen tanks. The only way to expand this time to my knowledge is to buy an additional suit of armor.
That being said, this is only one adventure that I have read/participated in where the time left for the protection has ever been close to a concern.
