grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 (+2 for each member of the party that assists)

Marrant doesn't have the Improved Grapple feat so this will provoke an AoO (if an entranced character can take one)

He'll add, "Whatever you do, hold your breath!" after which he'll follow his own advice.

If successful, next round he'll attempt to move away from the plant with Jax at 1/2 his movement rate

It always feels a little creepy dividing up a fallen comrades gear but here's what he had listed on his character sheet;

I tried with my iPad air ios 7.04 and my laptop using windows 7 and whatever the current version of Explorer

smite evil bypasses all damage resistance if that makes a difference (he points out hopefully:-)

Strange, neither the hyperlink or the link text works for me. I get to a page "mariopainting 1-1.png" but all it show is a little box with an x in it. It's not a big deal but someone let me know if I need to move.
