Hi Vic, TY in advance my item was Ardent Bindings

Thanks for running this contest, I'm a big fan of it. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Good, bad, or otherwise.

Ardent Binding
Aura moderate transmutation; CL 6th
Slot none; Price 25,500 gp; Weight 3lbs.
Infused with the substance of an imp this leathery book binding remains dormant until placed onto a spellbook at which time it begins to cackle and writhe about. It then clutches and permanently adheres itself to the spellbook and henceforth it is treated as a tiny animated object capable of flight. The book will follow two word commands from its owner given from a distance of up to 400 feet and will generally carry out orders with traces of its impish quintessence. The book will possess preservation qualities and when not in the possession of its owner will act accordingly in the face of obvious danger always wisely returning to the owner if possible. When any parchment or similar material containing a spell comes into contact with the spellbook it readily gobbles it up becoming integrated. Once the owner has successfully deciphered the new spell it simultaneously transcribes as if written by the owner. The book has a capacity of 1000 pages after which it will not accept more until room is made by tearing out old ones. Unless any of the conditions above are present, the book remains still.
Construction
Requirements Craft Construct Feat, secret page, three drops of imp blood Cost 12,750 gp

Well done!! Congrats. Great job you repeaters!!!

Thanks Dark Joy.

Anybody care to comment on this please go ahead. My item from last year;

Mantle of Subterfuge
Aura moderate conjuration; CL 7
Slot shoulders; Price 30,240gp; Weight 1lb.
The outer shell of this cloak may consist of any suitable material although most often it is found to be a subtle dark cloth. The interior of the mantle is always lined with black silk with no inside pockets. Once the properties of the cloak are known it offers upon command a special magical endowment. As a free action the cloak grants the wearer the ability to open a one foot diameter dimension door on the cloaks interior portion. The destination dimension door opens wherever the character desires within a 100 foot range of the wearer. The doorway remains open for one minute or until it is utilized. It takes one move action to manipulate an appendage through the door. Once through a character can complete one standard action before the door winks out withdrawing the characters appendage back through the door. In order to bring back an object the character must be able to lift it and it must fit through the opening. This power can be utilized twice per day.
Construction requirements; Craft wondrous item, dimension door; Cost 15,120gp

Entered yesterday.

I wonder how long I can hold out before I begin to reread my item 50 thousand times to nit-pick at it.... like the last two years.

I cannot wait to read the top 32. Always such cool stuff and great ideas. Good luck to everyone.

You'd better read them. Its easy to miss something simple and get an auto-reject. Read Neil's advice too, really great stuff in there.

..and you only get one submission..btw

Good Luck!

In short, what do you, the voting public, want to see from the Top 17?

Also in short. New villians. Show us why YOU are superstar material. You just can't have too many good villians. I already know the other ones and I don't want to read about them anymore.

..but thats just me.. my 2cp

Also, congradulations to the competitors.

Okay I'll bite.

1. Gulga. This would be fun to DM.
2. Kardan the Khan.
3. Rustin Harp. The Satyr carny.
4. Sharina.

I really struggled to read all the druids and bards. Maybe because we don't use them much in our table top games.

Can we Sticky this please?

Thank you in advance. We really appreciate the efforts of the judges. Lay it on me. Good, bad, and the ugly.

I loved the name. Witches give me Gygasms. The item is way cool too. Great job.

I disagree with that actually and really I do not the think the two have to be mutually exclusive. If you are being creative under the presumption of what someone else may like, rather than what you like, I would think it is doomed. Really what the judges are asking for are correctness, clarity, and something original. There is no reason a cool item (to you) should not be all three. It is simply a matter of making it curt enough to fit in the 200 word limit, and elegant enough sell itself.

shakes fist!!!

Easy for you to say now that every campaign from here to Narnia has a naked cat construct in it!

....viva la migra...

The Diaper of Wrath

It allows you to whirlwind poop storm even if you don't have the feat.
