Sorry guys, I'm not feeling it. I'm withdrawing. Have a great game.
@Bærn Steelskull and @gyrfalcon
Very tempted by 4 strength, but I've gone with wisdom so that he can't escape his weakness (which synthesist and transmuter sort of do)
@Baern: Arcane Crafter is a good idea... but I'm vaguely hoping to go Arclord at some point, and for some reason that school doesn't meet the pre-reqs for arclord.
@Thron: For buildings and teams, do we pay full cost or if we can raise the influence, labour and goods can we buy at half?
@Thron: also (sorry) are you keen on spell research during the game?
perception: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (18) - 3 = 15
Loupe jumps backwards
"Sorry kid, didn't see you! Hey - you're a goblin, right? Where are you from?" his eyes turn to follow Ravboom's over to the firework stall
"Aw! Fireworks!" he does some quick maths in his head, reaches into his pouch and gets some coins then hands them to Ravboom 5/3=1gp, 6sp, 6 cp
"Here you go, go see if you can get a Star Candle"
The man instantly freezes where he stands, and looks around, but not down.
"What? Trap? Spell?"
In looking around his eyes spot Eugeni and his venison
"Ooh! Food!"
Tracking a little further he spots Helgarr, staring at her chest
"Ooh! Nice breastplate! Shoanti Lamellar?"
Joking and cheering with mead in their hands a group of craftsmen of various ages wander towards the venison stall
"Right boys!" this comes incongruously from the slightest and youngest member of the company, a youth dressed in a blacksmith's clothes, silver and gold tattoos shaped like runes covering most of his body and a nightingale on his shoulder."You've all got your bonus! Have fun! Tomorrow's a holiday and I don't care if you bring home a guest tonight!" this last greeted with raucous cheers "You've all done a great job on that temple so let's hope the gods give us a pass on tonight!"
The group cheers one more time and scatters through the crowd. The boy appears to be listening to something as he wanders towards the venison stall
"okay, okay, I'll eat something before I..." seemingly distracted while talking to himself he is about to run into who?: 1d8 ⇒ 1 the heavily armored goblin.
So... two evokers.
Possibly I should consider changing schools to prevent too much overlap... and a very similar build actually...
Sigh, back to the drawing board - at least for particulars.
All right, submitting. Ignore all the previous posts, have reused an alias.
Alright, I'm definitvely bowing out.
Sorry guys.
Hope he is okay...
I've thought that before...
"Been thinking. Maybe what this place needs is some decent trade caravans."
I'm guessing getting cable takes a while to get hooked up over christmas
"Huh. You know" Loupe continues on his favorite topic "that's almost enough money to set up a proper shop, take some apprentices. Trouble is there just isn't enough cargo transport to justify any real industry here."
"Someone should set up a proper trading house. If they could protect the Caravans they could make a killing."
Loupe looks thoughtfully suddenly
"Half of you guys are out of work mercs, right?"
"Huh. Actually I have a theory about that." Loupe chimes in
"Yeah. Yeah, job first."
who is holding that enormous pile of loot, given we can't split it?
Loupe blinks
"Sure. If you want a second opinion you can ask someone. Ruby this size, this cut - not perfectly flawless but pretty close. Find a buyer and you'd get 500 crowns for it."
"The diamond's easier. Look at the size of it. We find someone who needs it as a component and we could easily get a thousand."
Loupe pauses a second as he adds it in his mind, then swears loudly
"Nearly TWO THOUSAND" he whispers quietly. "Even split 8 ways that's some serious money."
appraise red gem: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
appraise white gem: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
appraise silver ring: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Loupe, with a well-trained, merchant's eye evaluates the gems.
"Huh. Good news - those gems are worth more than we thought, I've got a cousin who I could get a good price from. Bad news - they're not going to be easy to split up, and it's going to take while. I've been trying to do sales for my group here" Loupe indicates with a head sweep who he means "I could do this for everyone if you want."
"Also, anyone happen to be good at detecting auras? That ring looks suspicious and I'm more into creation and destruction than peeking."
Peeking, of course, being a derogatory term for the esteemed school of Divination.
Loupe grins
"Yep. It's not so much the gold as what you can do with it. Golems are expensive! How about you?"
Uh, how much gold is in the pouch?
"Let's count it out and head over to the stables" suggests Loupe "before he comes to his senses."
Would you mind marking this game as Inactive please, GM BugBusMan.
"so are we going to count it out?" Loupe asks impatiently
"Well, party, gold, free horse and mingling with potential customers - as my uncle would say 'Work the iron you've got, don't pine for mithril you haven't'!"
"Hey - I'm not saying I can't get up close... just that it seems a waste not to use the firepower I prepared this morning. I thought we were going to hunt goblins and necromancers, not boars!"
"Loupe of clan Ardoc, Journeyman Golemcrafter and resident armoursmith at your service, master Bottomland."
"Well, I've never been on a mounted hunt like before. I'm sort of curious - I've heard stories of course, and read of them in books. I gather this is a hobby of the hereditary upper class? We have servants attending on us with hot wine and iced tea? Always sounded very... civilized" the hesitation and accent leaves the impression that civilized was not the word Loupe was going to originally use.
"Not a problem BBQing it from a distance with magic is there?" he asks a little anxiously "I thought we'd be hunting goblins rather than Piggywhiskers"
"So, I pretty much just slept and prepped. Did manage to sleep off the hangover though. Given that we were under siege from goblins, I'm surprised how much didn't happen to me."
He smirks a little at Sten's comment
"I take it your night was a bit more eventful than mine. Abyss, I've been here for months and no hussy has tried to entrap me!"
Guess he's got a way with the ladies.
"Well" starts Loupe "nice if he'd said goodbye, but I guess he had a reason and I did only meet him yesterday. Was sort of hoping we might go hunting today now I've prepped some more fireworks, but hopefully there's still enough of us."
"So, anything happen while I was asleep? Maug said there was something. Hope you guys didn't head out without me..."
GM BigBusMan wrote: Loupe, is that Loot list a consolidation of both groups or the original from just your group?..you you guys want to collaborate on consolidating the groups loot, I will allow it all to be kept, that should help the finances and whatnot of everyone. we have a couple more things to get through and everyone will be leveling before we go to the glassworks. Just my group.
If someone can shoot me the other group's list I can incorporate it.
Vishoon!
Look at all these nice dwarves we've found!
Sure! Loupe's mostly about things; building them and blowing them up.
Loupe Ardoc, of the Kaer Maga Ardocs.
Loyal, proud and vengeful he embodies his family; the Ardocs are a proud family and Loupe grew up with his uncles being the law. He's got strong - if unusual - ideas of right and wrong, and a tendency to like violent revenge.
Loupe is a journeyman golemcrafter, a smith and a wizard.
A love of making things combined with an explosive temper and a gift for evocation. Loupe might be a wizard but he has the body and soul of a Smith.
Loupe is very interested in making money. To get taken seriously he needs to build a golem, and golemcrafting is very, very expensive. Still, he won't rip people off, and doesn't steal.
I'm okay with it - we could well have had similar experiences during the night.
Yeah, congratulations on the new job! Still here.
Hey BigBusMan!
Sorry Loupe is sleeping, feel like I'm letting the side down. I could send out Maug if you like?
Terrible luck, man :(
Hope your luck improves - and I'll be here when you get internet back at home.
Wow - that sounds terrible. I used to work retail and even the idea of that sort of work load is staggering.
Ah, I do... was it the norse dwarves that were all male?
Mild preference for sleeping to get spells back (and switch to a combat load out)
"Well, friends, it's late. I've been up since dawn, and working late the last two weeks. My reserves are empty and my belly is full. I'm for bed."
"Well" Loupe stutters "Yeah, I had heard of Shelyn, I guess, I mean..."
"Most people focus on baser desires, rather than beauty..."
knowledge:local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 Has Loupe heard of goblin attacks?
