Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Thanks for the link Jaeg.

Which roll am I missing?

And corerue, still waiting on your approval mate.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Ah, ok thanks! Which roll??

And yes I checked out the Hellion, and may go with that if Corerue doesn't approve the Warlock. I'll check out the riven mage now.

EDIT: Wait. Where's the Riven Mage? Did you mean the Riven Lord?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Most welcome

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Ya I know eh Kieran? Unfortunately the 3pp version kinda sucks though. This guy is a 3.5 conversion. If you happen to know of a really good one though feel free to share.

If this guy's set up flies with you Corerue I may just go with this then.
I'll just plug in my stats from here.

EDIT: Ah! I still have to roll his stats! lol

1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16

1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 re-roll, yes?
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 5, 1) = 14

Well that's kinda sucky, but whatever. :/

Did I do that right btw?

Oh, and I'm thinking of making him a fetchling, if that's alright?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Dot

I'd love to submit this character for this game. He got into another Carrion Crowns game but soon after we started the DM disappeared from the boards.

If he needs any adjustment from that game to this, I can do so no problem.

I'm very interested in playing a Warlock in this game, as I feel that class fits in perfectly with the horror and desperateness of the tone of the AP. As a Warlock though, Lomar, fully aware of the superstitious nature of his countrymen, will be passing himself off as a Wizard, even going to the extent of carrying around a fake spellbook and pretending to study it every morning.

I am not completely happy with Adamant's take on the class as it seems rather week and somewhat incomplete. From the comments on the boards it seems that most feel fairly similar about their version of the class. As an alternative, I submit THIS Warlock build. Basically, in the author's words, this is what the build does:

"One of the major objections that people had to the Warlock was the array of at-will abilities, specifically their utility invocations. It wasn't the eldritch blast that was the problem, it was all of the other powers. So, for this conversion I took a step back and thought about what we as players and DMs want in a Warlock.

I kept the eldritch blast, but you will find that invocations are vastly changed. Now, they are all simply effects that alter the eldritch blast itself, based on the former blast shape and eldritch essence invocations.

To keep some of the utility aspects of the Warlock, I then added to the class spontaneous arcane spell-casting at the same rate as the bard. Their list of spells known is very restricted, and keeps the flavor of the Warlock alive and well. As for their other abilities, well read the class."

If you find it acceptable that's what I'd prefer to go with. I'm completely open though to any changes you might feel it needs.

If the Warlock class is not possible or acceptable though I can easily switch to Sorcerer with the Abyssal or Undead bloodline, no problem. Either way Lomar's powers will have been granted through his deal as opposed to having been born with them.

Background:

Lomar is the eldest child of of a small but wealthy noble house who were the benevolent rulers of a small but prosperous county a couple hours to the South of the independent Palatinates. His father, Agustus Sildrake, had always been a kind and forward thinking man, and had been looking with a favourable eye toward the Palantinates and seriously considering moving in that direction, as it clearly seemed to benefit the people.

Unfortunately, the nobles of the Sildrakes nearest neighbour, the much larger but not so wealthy Dencurs, were very much not in favour of the Sildrakes changing their county to a democracy, as they feared such a move would cause an uprising amongst their own downtrodden peasant class. As such, the Dencur patriarch, Balfor, hatched a wicked plot to discredit the Sildrakes, accusing them of the foulest sorts of witchery and evil, and bribing and threatening many peasant folk into providing false testimony. Although most did not for a moment believe such charges, enough did that Balfor was able to justify an attack and, with his much larger army and the aid of several other nobles jealous of the Sildrakes and fearful of their progressive ways, was able to completely overrun Castle Sildrake. Agustus was killed in the battle and young Lomar, his mother and younger sister were taken captive.

Knowing he could not simply kill the remaining Sildrakes out of hand due to the large amount of public support they still engendered, instead recently widowed Balfor 'magnimaniously' agreed to take Lomar's young sister as bride once she became of age. From the disgustingly lecherous looks her gave the beautiful young girl, it was clear he had no intentions of waiting until such time to sample the forbidden fruit. His mother was stripped of all title and wealth but was permitted to stay and care for her daughter and work as a maid. Young Lomar was exiled on pain of death, forbidden to ever return or not just his but also his mother and sisters lives forfeit should he do so. Sent out virtually penniless and with little more than the clothes on his back. A broken, distraught and all alone in the world Lomar was forced to make a tearful farewell to his remaining family.

As he turned gave a last look at the soldering ruins of the castle he had called home his entire life and trying his best to hold back the images of the horrors he knew his mother and sister would be subject to, young Lomar swore a blood oath of revenge upon Balfor, pledging his young soul to anyone and anything who might grant him ability to do so.

Fast forward several years to an older Lomar. One who has made his way in the world, constantly seeking knowledge and power enough to one day have his revenge. His broken soul driven towards dark ways, Lomar has sought and found forbidden knowledge which has linked his soul to an ancient and terrible Lich, who has begun to grant him strange and dark powers. Yet he is now aware of just how horrible a price he has agreed to pay for his powers and seeks a way out of his dire predicament. It was during one such search that he first met the Professor.

Lomar had been discreetly putting out word about his need to find someone learned enough to help him with his problem (the selling of his soul in exchange for power). When the Professor heard of someone looking for this kind of aid he was immediately intrigued and began to seek out who it was sending the veiled requests. At the same time, word had reached Lomar of the Professor's interest and he in turn began to seek out the Professor. However word also had reached Lomar's infernal sponsor, and a undead minion was sent to kill the professor and thereby stop his potential interference.

As fortune had it, and as well because the Professor was not hiding, Lomar had the greater luck in his tracking down quarry first. Yet he had been beaten to the chase by the undead assassin. He arrived just in time and, together, the two of them were able to defeat the assassin, if just barely. His saving of the professor's life cemented the seeds of their friendship and, up until the Professor's untimely death, their relationship had only grown stronger over time as they continued to study together and seek a solution to Lomar's dilemma. Over time, the Professor in many ways took over as the father figure Lomar has so tragically lost (Chance Saviour and Subject of Study traits)

Personality (fairly short ; ):

-The fall of Lomar's good and benevolent family to such a vile and selfish man as Balfor Dencur has made Lomar into a very angry and bitter young man. He has improved some in this respect with the Professor's friendship and support, but there is no one other than the Professor that he considers a friend and his dealings with people other than the Professor are usually not very friendly or pleasant.
-He also uses his stance as an unjustly exiled noble to hold himself above and apart from others.
-To all out ward intents and purposes Lomar seems to be of a neutral or perhaps even evil bent, this is an image that he cultivates, as inwardly he feels it protects him from an evil world
-In reality though his deepest, darkest secret is that he actually has a good heart, like his father, but he now considers this to be a shameful secret, and so does all in his power to hide it.
-He hates this aspect of himself as he considers it an extreme weakness and unreasonably blames himself for not being able to do more to prevent his families' fall from grace, his father's murder and the entrapment of his mother and sister.
-The death of the Professor will greatly affect the broken young man.

Finally, some answers to interesting questions.

1. Who are you and where are you from?
I am Lomar Sildrake...I see you have not heard of me, that is good. Where I am from then is not important, for I am not anymore what I once was. Yet I shall be again someday! I am Ustalavan to my core. This is my homeland and I am proud of my country and her people. No other nation could have endured the suffering; the trials and tribulations which we have, and yet still survive, and more, prosper! I shall do all that I can to see the Immortal Principality one day take her rightful place as first among all nations.

2. How were you acquainted with Professor Lorrimor?
The professor is...was, a good man. When no other was able to, or even cared to, seek a solution to my...unique problem, he did. We became close as student and mentor, and even more, friends. His death was a great loss to our nation; and as well to my hope for a...cure. His memory though still inspires me to continue to live and strive for the betterment of myself and those I care about. I shall never forget him.

3. How would you describe your personality? [b]
You ask a lot of questions. I am as I am, and that should be good enough for you! Why I even answer to the likes of you is beyond me, perhaps you have caught me in a good mood. If you question my sincerity or ability then be off with you! I have no need to waste my time with those of lesser station or determination than myself.

4. [b]Do you buy into the superstitious paradigms of the denizens of Ustalav?
What you call 'superstitious paradigms' are simply facts of life to we Ustalavians. One cannot have lived in a beleaguered nation such as ours, nor have experienced the things that we have, without accepting the grim realities the Gods have cursed us with; one would be a fool not to. Yet we remain strong! Nor are we fools. And I promise you, the 'things which go bump in the night' have far more to fear from me than do I from them.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Sigh, seems another game is to go the way of the Dodo. Some PC's just seem to get no luck. This'll be Lomar's third game to go belly up.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Could be...? ; )

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Crouching down and doing his best to stay hidden, Lomar tries to seek out the goblin leader. If he finds the Goblin leader, he blasts him
Ranged Touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Blast damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (1) + 1 = 8

If he can't find the goblin leader, he instead casts sleep on the closest group of four goblins he can find. Will save DC14

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Yes, that is correct, basically the repeating crossbow allows one to bypass getting all of those feats (GREAT deal for only 400gp and has left many crossbow specialists and pis$ed as $#$%), But, you still need to actually have more than one attack per round to be able to attack more than once a round with it. And we each got to start at level 1 with 1,000gp?? My bad then, as I totally missed that (and have some more shopping to do!!) Anyhoo, I haven't posted yet as I'm a little confused as to what exactly is going on. We're...somewhere on that map, on some goblins are somewhere about to do something? Does that about cover it? ; )

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Figured that's what it was (though I'm not quite sure how you and Silaquay are affording all this expensive gear at 1st level, but I digress) but it still wouldn't give you 3 shots in one round bro, unless you were high enough level to have iterative attacks, and even then you'd still have to roll for each shot. Don't mean to be a pain, but the rules are the rules, no? Otherwise, if we're gonna play without them, I think next round I'll have Lomar cast an acidic, electrified, fireball! Yeah, I'd love to see them goblins stop That! ; D

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Sorry, how are doing that, firing three bolts Noran?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Our new CLERIC is now acting as the 'sneaky party scout'?? Now That's a first! Has the whole world gone Mad?? Next Barbarian's will be casting spells and rogues will be turning undead?? Anarchy!! lol, good job though! Especially with No stealth mod whatsoever ; P (although technically I believe you both forgot to include the -3 ACP (Armor Check Penalty) to Stealth that a MW Breastplate gives(you need to change that on your sheet Silaquay from the -4 that you have) Anyhoo.

And for you newbies, if you click the little box below your posting window that says "How to format your text" it will show you how to do all kinds of neat little things, like including links to great, funny comics in your posts. Finally, Tarloc, are the Keep Gates open, or closed?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Lomar hands the vials to Firesnap with a nod. But when the Cleric then challenges his magical knowledge and skills he puffs up and says haughitly
"What? Are you mad sir? Of course I knew what they were! I was merely wanting to study them in greater depth to make sure they were still safe for consumption after all this time."

Sense Motive DC21:

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

He's completely lying, he had no idea what they were

When the new female arrives Lomar does his best to hide his distaste at the rather, unfortunate looking woman. It was not that she was hideous or anything, but she was certainly not someone anyone would bother looking twice at. Nevertheless, manners and propriety must be observed. Putting on his neutral expression he says "Well met my lady. I am Lomar, leader of this august group of New Phlan's Premier Adventures. We shall be glad to have you help route evil at our side. Now then, if there are not interruptions" sparing another annoyed glance at Firesnap "Let us be off to dispatch those goblins! Forward Norrin! (That is your name I take it?)" he adds as an aside.

With a final annoyed sniff at the Gnome the young noble follows the

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

"Hmmm, yes, or maybe it worked too well..." muses the young lord. If no one else wishes to read the notes, he carefully puts them away for future referral and turns his magic sight to the two potions "Hmmm, yes, definitely magical these, I'd say. I'd need a bit more time of course to figure them out but that shouldn't be a problem at all."

Sense Motive DC9:

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Lomar is not lying about the potions being magical, but he has no idea what they are and is not sure how to figure it out, either.

Again, unless someone asks to see them, he puts them away and turns to the newcomer. After looking the man up and down a bit he says casually "Well, you look capable enough with that weapon of yours, so, yes, I agree with Muddy, please do join us. And, now that that is taken care of, I suppose you'd best lead us to these Goblins of yours. So, lead on!" as he gestures for Norrin to do so.

As they move off, he adds somewhat sarcastically "I take it that wherever you come from, they do indeed use names? For where I hail, it's considered somewhat rude not to offer yours once someone has offered you theirs, hmmm?"

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

He carefully picks it up, first cleaning any... unpleasentness off of it with his cantrip, and checks it out and opens it, reading anything it may contain

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

"Well done fellows! Well done! Why, at this rate we shall have Old Phaln cleared out before noon!" his grin wide and infectious..or not.

Keeping an eye on the stranger, Lomar moves over to see what the undead had been looking at. While doing this he says to the newcomer "Well met friend, I am Lomar, leader of this illustrious party of the finest adventurers Phlan has ever seen. Has our fame spread so quickly already that you have sought us out? But no matter, you had more important things to say I gather? What's this now about goblins and boats?"

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

hahahaha lmao!

I DID warn you! lol But ya, I know, Awesome comic, eh?

And sure, about you're suggestion for Lomar's blasts, toning it down to 1d6 instead is cool with me. We can work out later when/how it can scale back up again. Thanks for your input boss.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Hey, a question for everyone. Does anyone feel that Lomar's Ranged touch Eldritch attack is too powerful for his level? I'm using it exactly as written in the alternative warlock class that Wareagle approved, but...I dunno. At this level a ranged attack is almost an auto-hit and 2d8+1 damage will take down most things in one hit.

Just wanted to get some other opinions and feedback on it.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Lomar looks over sharply and with some surprise and concern at the sudden appearance of the newcomer, but for the moment, he's most concerned with the undead threat in front of him and he again blasts away.
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Magic and Fire damage: 1d8 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + (3) + 1 = 6

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

I believe Oro's comment was in his head Tarloc, usually out loud speech is bold or "in quotations", otherwise, Lomar would almost certainly have had something to say ; ) Who's up?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

So Melismar, you're saying you're doing Inspire Courage? That gives a +1 to attack and damage for all of us, awesome! But really helps if you Post that info as well with your post, especially for those who may not now.

Once it becomes clear that the humanoids are actually undead, and thinking they perhaps surround a victim, with Melismar's rousing performance boosting his courage and ability Lomar shouts "Away from them, fiends!!" following up his words with a deadly blast of fire & magic at one of the zombies
Ranged touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Magic and Fire damage: 1d8 + 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + (3) + 1 = 11

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Is it clear that that is where the scream came from? And do we need any perception checks or anything to tell what the humanoids are?

Only slowing slightly, Lomar continues forward, eager to be the rescuing hero, but not very eager to be a dead one.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

"A citizen in peril! Forward men! Forward!" as Lomar begins hurrying forward, assuming the others are with him. In the heat of approaching battle it seems he has, unfortunately, missed Melismar's last stinging remark.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Assuming the Southern door is closer?

Lomar responds to Melismar with a snooty "Hmph!" and another of the seemingly inexhaustible supplies of arched eyebrows, but the half-elf thinks he may have caught the hint of a smile on the corner of the young noble's mouth before he turned away.

"Well, there's nothing here, let's move on to that Southern doorway over there" he 'commands', waiting for the front rank to begin moving before he follows.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Yes, agreed! I am a happy camper now : )

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Lormar arches an eyebrow at the half-elf as he considers him for a moment. Finally he replies "From your bearing and diction one would assume you to have noble bearing or at least education. But perhaps you are trying to convince me otherwise? Why would one sully oneself unnecessarily? Besides, there could have been anything hiding behind that door, by opening it from a distance I help keep us safe. Simply logical, no?" ending with a touchy sniff.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

'Well, at least the Elf appreciates my talents' thinks the young noble to himself, completely missing the sarcasm in Oro's comment. 'But why does that rude Gnome keep staring at my ankles?' he also wonders somewhat nervously, unconsciously taking a couple steps away from the strange little humanoid.

As the warriors search the storage room, Lomar idly considerd what the words on the note might mean
Knowledge(arcana): 1d20 ⇒ 16
Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Tarloc, do muddy and Oropher's perception rolls count for the storage or do they have to roll again?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Smiling slightly at his impressive use of magic, 'Lomar the Great', as he is now beginning to style himself in his mind, decides to 'wow' the peasants even more. Rolling up his sleeves and with great flourish he proceeds to conjure four dancing balls of light and then uses a second cantrip to cause the lights to move forward into the room along with sound of four humans walking lightly.

He turns to face the others with a smug smile of 'See? Did you See that? Good eh??'

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Using one of his most basic but useful spells, Lomar exerts magical force on the door from a distance, seeing if it is enough to knock the rotted door over

(Presdigitation, 5lbs force-i think?? Am on my phone atm)

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Allowing the others to see the parchment and figuring it might make more sense later, with more additional information Lomar tucks the scrap away then rays "Right, on we go" to the pair at the head of the group while he gestures to the doorway up ahead.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Tarloc:

if you put this
(no spaces before the ] )
then you can write specific instructions, or who it's for or whatever in the before the spoiler tab.

PS great job so far! Loving the frequency of the updates!

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Lomar looks back at Firesnap, thinking 'Nibbled on? My what a strange one, this little Gnome, but ah, well, one works with the tools one hs at hand sometimes' out loud he says "Ah, no, my ankle, and my head, are fine thank you. But please do see to your own wounds! And as for my leadership, why yes, what I say it true. Did I not lead us here? And have we not spectacularly triumphed in our first encounter? If you stick with me small one, I shall lead you on-wards to big adventure!" his smile and powerful charm hard to resist, despite the arrogant assumption of his words and manner.

As he turns away from Firesnap something catches the young noble's eye "Ho now, what's this?" and he bends down to pick up a piece of parchment from a zombie's decayed hand. Before reading the note, and feeling somewhat chagrined for not thinking of it earlier he says "Oh yes, let's search these bodies shall we?" and begins doing so himself, being very careful to not touch and keep clean of course, using his magic to lift rags and turns bodies where necessary.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Exuberant in their first victory, Lomar extols "!Excellent men! See! This is how things shall fare under my benevolent leadership! Onward! Let us investigate the doorway yonder!"

And hey, why are you all so quiet now? What happened to all that most excellent RPing you were all doing at the beginning of the game that attracted me to it so much. That's the best part! : )

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Seeing the damage being done to 'his' team and remembering his lessons that it is his responsibility for those under his command, Lomar calls out "Priest! Leave the enemy to the rest of us for the moment and focus your energies on healing the wounded!"

Yes Tarloc, Muddy's correct, it used to be as you say, but recently Paizo changed channel energy to be only one way or the other, not both anymore

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

A grin of excitement and adrenaline on his face from his first real battle in quite some time, Lomar takes a step back away from his closest foe and unleashes his eldritch power on a zombie this time, blasting the creature into flaming pieces of undead flesh.

Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
magic and fire damage: 1d8 + 1 + 1d8 ⇒ (4) + 1 + (4) = 9

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Cool. You're learning the PbP ropes quick, boss! ; )

Yes, usually Inits are only rolled once per encounter, unless something significant changes.

If you're keeping track of stats, cool, but my experience on here is that most of us players don't change them on our sheet too often

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

A way I've seen the best in combat situations here on the boards is for the DM to roll initiatives for everyone and then post them so we all know who's up next. So for example:

Round 3, Initiatives

Muddy 20
Firesnap 19
Zombies 18
Lomar 15
Skeleton 15 (lower Dex)
Oro

Etc.

Just helps keep everything simple, faster and more organized that way. Also, for us players, it tends to also make it more simple, faster etx. For the DM if every round we post out stats, like:

Round 2 Init 15
AC 18 HP 12
F/R/W 5/2/6
Buffs: Protection From Evil
Effects: Sickened
Spells left: 2/2nd 1/1st

Or whatever, can just copy and paste each round with updated info.

Finally I've also found it can help speed things up Tarloc if the DM gives us the AC and pertinent stats of the baddies, like:
Zombies AC 14 HP
F/R/W 1/3/1

That we we can know in advance if we hit them or not and post appropriately. These are all just suggestions of course based on my years of playing here. You can things however you want.

Oh and for the record, I have no problem you rolling however you like Tarloc.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Once he is able to identify the enemy, Lomar lets loose with a blast of pure magical force at the closest skeleton, yelling "Die foul abominations!Back to the abyss you came from!".
Eldritch Blast(ranged touch): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Magic Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
(plus Fire damage if applicable): 1d8 ⇒ 1

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Lomar merely sniffs and arches his eyebrow at Muddy's threats. After all, what more could one expect from an uncouth barbarian? Obviously some discussion on obedience and respect would have to be had, but the young noble was at least aware enough to know that now was not the proper place and time.

As he enters with the others and sees the figures he calls out loudly and sharply "Halt! Who goes there! Stay where you are or face the consequences!" as he speaks Lormar readied an action to attack should the figures charge or otherwise prove to be hostile.

Tarloc, can we see the figures well enough yet to attack without penalty?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Still waiting for the others to chime in with something. Any RP or actions for you Firesnap?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Do we have any maps up and about?

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Nice one Sylavel!

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Hey Tarloc, just a little note for youe mat, Paizo has changed and improved many things from 3.5, mostly all the things that were broken and/or just not working well. One of them is that there are no longer Spot, Listen and Search skills. All of them, along with smell and touch, are now rolled into one, Perception.

One of the best online resources I find for all things Pathfinder is the SRD site.

Also, I would recommend that you create a new avatar for your new role as DM. I myself am not aware how you might get DM privileges to this thread, but perhaps someone else here is? Otherwise, you could always just start a new one.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Huh, I had wrote a whole cool into with Lomar and Firesnap a while back but it looks like it didn't take. Didn't realize that till just now. Oh well, I'll try and just sum it up so we can get the introductions over and get to the good stuff! ; )

Frustrated with waiting Lomar leaves the shop and wanders the town, looking for some action. As he walks the streets he stops as he happens to overhear a conversation between a Gnome and a Human.

FireSnap wrote:
Tarloc Doom wrote:
im a concerned resident of Phlan. Are you hero's ever going to reclaim our fair city?
"Phlan was not taken over in a day and it will take effort time to reclaim it. We will do our best, tho that wasn't enough foe one of our companions. She died trying to reclaim this city. So have patience and Brigh willing we will be successful." replies FireSnap

"What's that? You and your companions have been into the Old City you say? Excellent! This is your lucky day. Quite fortunate it is for you that I have found you." the snobby young noble spends a moment looking the Gnome up and down, not bothering to hide his lack of being overly impressed "That you have already lost one of your company shows you are clearly in need of inspired leadership. And I am now here! So, be quick about then, lead me to your companions. Chop chop!"

If he notices the dark look his words and manner get, he is either ignoring it or is oblivious to it.

Eventually Lomar is led to the rest of the companions, introductions are quickly made and the eager party is on their way. As they traverse the water Lomar thinks to himself 'Sigh. Well, I guess I couldn't expect to find much better than this in this back-water town, so they shall have to do I suppose. But nevermind, with my leadership now to guide them they shall shape up quite quickly I am sure. But best of all, the adventure has begun! And soon, oh yes very soon, I shall have my revenge!'

As the sailor of the skiff hastily drops them off, Lomar spends a moment using some minor magic to remove all the dirt and moisture from his clothes, leaving them clean and pristine, as he prefers them. Clearing his throat he adresses 'his' new team. "Well then, I understand your last foray here was, shall we say, less than successful? But never fear, I am here to lead you now and things shall be quite different. So, if one of you will quickly update me on where you have been and what you have done so far, we can begin."

"Oh and hmm, yes let's see..." Lomar says as he carefully looks over his companions, assessing their abilities and capabilities "Yes, ok I think it best if you there, Muddy is it? And Oropher take the lead. Firesnap and I shall go next and you two, I forget your names." he points at Melismar and Sylavel "Shall take up the rear. Yes, that will do quite nicely. So, what are we waiting for then? Let's begin! Adventure awaits!" as he adds this last he draws his sickle and eagerly looks forward to the yawning portal ahead.

Hey Gang! Just thought I'd better give a little heads up here about Lomar. While he can be arrogant, callus and rude, he's not actually a bad guy, once you get to know him, he just has little experience around others who are not subservient to him (and, well, there may be some hidden reasons for his behaviour as well that I shall not reveal just yet ; ). He's quite attractive and has a strong sense of personality, and may just actually eventually be as good a leader as he clearly thinks he is, but that may take some time and 'seasoning' still. In the meantime, please feel free to disagree with him, dislike him or whatever else you think appropriate. Just cuz he's assuming he's the leader, it doesn't mean that he actually is. Yet ; ). Your PC's can say and act towards him however they like, I never take anything PC to PC personally and I hope you all feel the same. So looking forward to some good RP and some good old fashioned D&D fun here! Woot!

Hey Great! Thanks for picking up the standard Tarloc!

Most of us, I think, have been playing on here for some time now so we'll be patient while you get the hang of things and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Anyone wanna temporarily take over the helm while the captain's below decks?

...and waiting : )

Make Human 1/ Warlock (Hidden as Wizard)

Barging into the merchant's shop, the young nobleman wastes no time for useless pleasantries before beginning his complaining "Really Porphyrys, I don't know what you were thinking, sending in an inexperienced team like that without me to lead them. Surely if they're not back by now they must all be dead. You can't seriously be expecting me to just wait in this dreary town, doing nothing, forever do you? Well, answer me man! Time to start gathering a new band of 'heroes' I say and get things done right. If we happen to run across any of that doomed first team you sent I shall bring word of their demise back to you. Well?? What are you waiting for man? I haven't got all day!" he finishes this last with a huff and a sniff.
