I feel like some are behind the times. :)

I'm not sure I get this reference. Can someone explain?

My group and I have sort of retconned Nigel to be a "Rupert Giles" character who gives our scooby gang quests revolving around supernatural and eldritch mysteries. He still runs the Blackros Museum, and he still answers to the Blackros family, but he's less bumbling. He's also involved in an elven society dedicated to finding and reclaiming the aiudara keys.

Some minor tweaks to the character that's made him perfectly respectable.

That being said, I was hoping to have him a fully fleshed-out character with stats. I've read through almost all the Pathfinder Society Modules in which he's mentioned, but haven't found anything yet, so if anyone knows where I could find more info on him, I would be very appreciative.

No. You can attack things with Stat blocks.

Well, yeah, but I wanted to know what he had access to; level, specializations, languages, spells, skills, ect.

Has Nigel Aldain, the curator of the Blakros Museum, ever been officially statted? I've found references to him being a Wizard, but I can't find anything else.

In this example from Ultimate Wilderness, do the players know the cost their aiming for?

Quote:

Seeking a Location: If the PCs wish to seek out a location, they can do so by spending Discovery Points at the start of the day. If they are seeking a specific location that they know exists in the territory (typically having found clues to it in the form of way signs), they must spend a number of Discovery

Points equal to the location’s discovery score—a number that determines how difficult that location is to find (with higher values representing locations that are more difficult to discover). If the PCs want to attempt to uncover an unknown location at random, they choose how many Discovery Points from their total that they want to spend. Once the points are spent, divide the total spent in half, then compare that result to
the discovery scores of all the locations in the territory. If any
of those locations have a discovery score lower than that total, the PCs discover one of those locations (chosen at random if more than one location is a potential discovery). If none of the
locations have a discovery score lower than that total, the group recovers half the Discovery Points they spent, but the other half is lost. Once the party discovers a location, travel time to the site varies according to the GM’s discretion and the overall size of
the territory.

My specific example follows below. Would the players know they need 8 points to find the Pyramid?

Quote:

Parched Dunes           CR 3

Arid desert plagued by shifting sands, undead explorers, and aggressive predators.

Exploration Check Survival DC 21

LOCATION DISCOVERY SCORES
The Tomb of the Pharoah of Spinxes 8 (base score of 3, desert terrain +1, location is incidentally hidden +4)

Aspis Consortium Camp 4 (base score
of 3, desert terrain +1, location is
mobile within the territory +4,  location is traveled to or from often -4) Contains rations and waterskins.

Sacrificial Altar 3 (base score of 3)  An ornate canopic jar contains a cat's eye agate jewel worth 200gp and a scroll of Protection from Evil.

I ask because it sounds like it would just be smarter to save up their points rather than waste half of them in the hope of finding something.

Are they just supposed to say "Ok, we're going to try to find the Pyramid with 6 points." and then I, as the GM, know they don't have enough so I just give them the Altar for 3 points?

Furthermore, what if they have enough points to find them all? Say they saved up 15 points before they set out to explore. Would they find all 3 in one day?

Lastly, this is probably obvious but I just want to make sure; Are Discovery Points used to find locations permanently removed from the Point Pool?

I understand now. I completely skipped over the bonuses for the Large evolution. I just assumed it was like the "Enlarge Person" spell. Thank you for pointing that out. That one little mixup has cost me a day of headaches. :P Thanks again!

I'm trying to wrap my head around the Eidolon STR/DEX bonus.
My son is playing a Serpentine type Eidolon at level 10.
It now has the Large evolution.

It's starting scores are STR 12, DEX 16, CON 13, INT 7, WIS 10, and CHA 11
At level 10, it's supposed to add a total of +4 to STR/DEX stats.
It's now has the large evolution too, so it gains +2 STR and -2 DEX.
It also gained 2 Ability Score Increases at level 5 & 10.
He put one point into STR and one into CON

Based on my math, the Eidolon should have 19 STR and 18 DEX.
However, when I try to make an eidolon on any of the free generators out there, it tries to add wild amounts to his STR and DEX.
PCGEN for example, tries to add +6 / +6
PCGEN is setting his stats to STR 24!!? Why?

What am I missing?

Been waiting for this one! Thank you!

I'm not looking forward to getting 8 Pteranodons and 10 Yeti's in the case.

Honestly, the only thing that even caught my attention is the Storm/Cloud Giants, and the Promotional goblin stuff.

Beyond that, I'm thinking about skipping this case. Sorry Paizo, but you guys have 6 Bestiarys full of unique monsters, and here we are getting more goblins/orcs. Bleh.

We've been collecting Pathfinder minis for about 2 years now (I was late to the game). We only need one more!

The infamous Duergar Soldier.

Anyone have one they'd like to sell me? Name your price! Paypal required.

What. Are. You. Doing. Paizo?!

We already have 2 different Chimeras from 2 previous sets.
We already have Fire Giants from 2 previous sets.
We have more goblins than we could ever need from several various sets.
And multiple Bugbears from Rusty Dragon Inn.

Please, if you want me to continue to be a case subscriber, give me diversity!

You still haven't made your advanced races.
Sylphs, Oreads, Ifreeti, Undine, Wayangs?
What about Aeons?

And I swear, if you announce 1 more troll, I am done.

Name: Skippy Grog
Race: Grippli
Class: Druid 6
Adventure: House of the Beast
Where: The Ruined Church Crypt
Catalyst: Lost his companion. Lost his mind. Never gave up. Never Surrendered.

The Carrion King buried his axe into "Little Arms", an attack that was meant for the druid. The Grippli watched in horror as his T-Rex animal companion doubled over before being tore in half by the mighty Gnoll. Skippy could never be the same after seeing that... The Alchemist, out of bombs, fired her crossbow and with a roar, the Carrion King died.

The next day, the party accidentally released the Unchosen Gnolls from their den. They poured into the hallway, pushing the party back into the throne room. There, they found Rovoka had already regained control of the gnoll tribes. The party was overwhelmed and beaten into submission by the hordes. Skippy refused to accept defeat, and fought to his last breath as one of the Unchosen ate him.

R.I.P. Skippy Grog, and "Little Arms" (Companion)

So does anyone know why I need to roll to see how many eggs were laid?

Ressurecting this older thread because I am curious as to why I need to roll how many eggs get laid.

Quote:

Ear seekers are small, maggot-like creatures, brown or white in color. They are found lairing in rotting wood or similar organic materials. When first encountered, a DC 15 Perception check can be made to avoid them entirely. If the check fails, the ear seekers have contacted the creature and move toward any warm place on the creature (favoring places such as the ears) in which to lay their eggs. Once an ear seeker enters a warm place, it lays 2d8 eggs before dying. In 4d6 hours, the eggs hatch and the larvae devour the surrounding flesh, dealing Constitution damage to the host each hour thereafter. At Constitution 0, the host dies and ear seekers crawl out to find a new host. A remove disease spell kills all ear seekers and any unhatched eggs.

My understanding is also that there is no saving throw. The perception check is the only way to avoid them?

Name: Laie'Runa Enaë
Race: Kitsune
Class: Monk 5
Adventure: Howl of the Carrion King
Where: The Ruined Church Crypt
Catalyst: Chased Xulthos as he fled, and forgot about his deceptive nature.

The party fought against Xulthos as he taunted them, but when the odds were turning against him, he decided to make his escape. Our Mesmerist, Kaleena, played the "KEPT SECRET" Plot Twist card, (a barrier holds true) ensuring the iron gate held fast.
Sensing his escape was cut off, he turned and ready his last stand.
Laie'Runa dashed forward as Xulthos disappeared around the corner. As she rounded the corner expecting to see Xulthos further ahead, she was instead met by a furious onslaught of claws and a lashing tail.

The Wyvaran Ranger, Gravefang, fired a single arrow into Xulthos's eye, killing the daemon, but not before he managed to end the life of one of their own.

HONORABLE MENTION:
Felliped also gave his life while fighting Kardswann. With his final breath, he managed to disarm the Janni, allowing the party to cripple him enough for the Moldspeaker to finish the job.

Is this book compatible with the Original Pathfinder, or is this going to be for the Playtest/ v2?

Since my naga came without a head, I made my own Lunar Naga. =D

These have got to be the worst paint jobs I've ever got from Wizkids.... And I'm including Reign of Winter. I have every set ever published, and opening Kingmaker was like opening stale candy.
Who did you hire to paint these things, seriously? The Dwoemercat looks NOTHING like the book art. The Soul Gorger hardly looks like a Devourerer and the purple blob of paint in his stomach was so bad, it took me a whole day to figure out there's a face in the stomach. Heck, even one of my 5 Swamp Naga (we always get the most of the worst miniature) arrived WITHOUT A HEAD!

I get that sometimes missing parts happen, but it's happened in every case I've ever gotten. Missing quivers, an arm, but a head? Come on.

I have to repaint at least 15 faces, and every dwoemercat. I'm paying you to create work for me... *sigh*

My fiancee is blind, and we use a device called "Pen Friend".

It's like an audio recorder in the shape of a pencil that comes with hundreds of stickers. When you touch the Penfriend to a small sticker, you can record your own voice to that sticker. (I record text-to-speech voices)

When you touch that sticker dot againb it will replay what you recorded onto it.

One dot has her attack, another her health, AC, ect. You can record on the fly and change the info anytime.

I'll post more later.

I have looked in the book and in several forums but i must be missing it.

Is breaking a grapple a standard action, a move action, or swift?

Hello fellow Pathfinders!

TL;DR Buying Duergar Soldier to complete our miniature collection. It's the last one we need!

My fiancee and I started collecting Pathfinder minis 2 years ago. I had sold my old D&D collection a few years back to make ends meet. (Awful decision!) We were at our local gaming store, and picked up a box of Deadly Foes. We were instantly hooked, and went back into the store to buy more. Lol! Since then, she's been on a mission to collect all of them. Even occasionally pestering Paizo directly trying to find some of the rarer ones. At one point, she called virtually every gaming store in the U.S.

(I am not joking about this. She lost count at 180+ stores but kept calling state by state looking for a Gargantuan Red Dragon.)

After 2+ years, we've caught up, and the collection is ALMOST complete...
Almost.

Despite all out best efforts, we're still missing the GenCon 2015 Duergar Soldier promo.

Typically when Troll & Toad had them, they went for about $14 or so. Since I understand it's rare, and I started collecting so late, I'm willing to pay $50 for this miniature. If anyone has even just one to part with, I'd appreciate it! I really just want her to move on past this telemarketer's phase! Ha!

Thanks!

Two questions about Psychic Duels.

1. Would a Mesmerist's Trick pool count for extra MP like Ki, or Panache would?

"When in a Mindscape, both participants' bodies become unresponsive. A creature adjacent to the body of a combatant can attempt to shake that creature out of its torpor as a standard action. Doing so is a melee touch attack that deals no damage but allows the combatant to attempt a new saving throw against the effect that started the psychic duel. If the check is successful, the mind of the roused creature returns to its body and the duel ends. A creature in a psychic duel can attempt no more than one additional save per round in this way."

From this reading, I have another question.

2. Does an attack against that creature give them another Save to break free? Or do they just automatically break free?

My thinking is that shaking them to wake them up MIGHT wake them up (with a will save), but an attack might just snap them out automatically.

I just called Paizo when one of my Sea Drakes arrived snapped of its base. They sent me a new one, no problem.

We have plenty of dwarves, ratfolk, trolls (like 6 variations now) and gargoyles.

Where are my Attic Whisperers, Ettercaps?? (So classic and still a no-show?) How about Aeons, and Contemplatives of Ashok?

At least give us a male/female version of every race. We still don't have Sylphs, Oreads, Undine, Ifrit, Kitsune, Dhampir... the list goes on.

I love Pathfinder Battles miniatures, but sometimes it feels like the selections are just horribly underwhelming and repetitive.
