Has Nigel Aldain, the curator of the Blakros Museum, ever been officially statted? I've found references to him being a Wizard, but I can't find anything else.

In this example from Ultimate Wilderness, do the players know the cost their aiming for?

Quote:

Seeking a Location: If the PCs wish to seek out a location, they can do so by spending Discovery Points at the start of the day. If they are seeking a specific location that they know exists in the territory (typically having found clues to it in the form of way signs), they must spend a number of Discovery

Points equal to the location’s discovery score—a number that determines how difficult that location is to find (with higher values representing locations that are more difficult to discover). If the PCs want to attempt to uncover an unknown location at random, they choose how many Discovery Points from their total that they want to spend. Once the points are spent, divide the total spent in half, then compare that result to
the discovery scores of all the locations in the territory. If any
of those locations have a discovery score lower than that total, the PCs discover one of those locations (chosen at random if more than one location is a potential discovery). If none of the
locations have a discovery score lower than that total, the group recovers half the Discovery Points they spent, but the other half is lost. Once the party discovers a location, travel time to the site varies according to the GM’s discretion and the overall size of
the territory.

My specific example follows below. Would the players know they need 8 points to find the Pyramid?

Quote:

Parched Dunes           CR 3

Arid desert plagued by shifting sands, undead explorers, and aggressive predators.

Exploration Check Survival DC 21

LOCATION DISCOVERY SCORES
The Tomb of the Pharoah of Spinxes 8 (base score of 3, desert terrain +1, location is incidentally hidden +4)

Aspis Consortium Camp 4 (base score
of 3, desert terrain +1, location is
mobile within the territory +4,  location is traveled to or from often -4) Contains rations and waterskins.

Sacrificial Altar 3 (base score of 3)  An ornate canopic jar contains a cat's eye agate jewel worth 200gp and a scroll of Protection from Evil.

I ask because it sounds like it would just be smarter to save up their points rather than waste half of them in the hope of finding something.

Are they just supposed to say "Ok, we're going to try to find the Pyramid with 6 points." and then I, as the GM, know they don't have enough so I just give them the Altar for 3 points?

Furthermore, what if they have enough points to find them all? Say they saved up 15 points before they set out to explore. Would they find all 3 in one day?

Lastly, this is probably obvious but I just want to make sure; Are Discovery Points used to find locations permanently removed from the Point Pool?

I'm trying to wrap my head around the Eidolon STR/DEX bonus.
My son is playing a Serpentine type Eidolon at level 10.
It now has the Large evolution.

It's starting scores are STR 12, DEX 16, CON 13, INT 7, WIS 10, and CHA 11
At level 10, it's supposed to add a total of +4 to STR/DEX stats.
It's now has the large evolution too, so it gains +2 STR and -2 DEX.
It also gained 2 Ability Score Increases at level 5 & 10.
He put one point into STR and one into CON

Based on my math, the Eidolon should have 19 STR and 18 DEX.
However, when I try to make an eidolon on any of the free generators out there, it tries to add wild amounts to his STR and DEX.
PCGEN for example, tries to add +6 / +6
PCGEN is setting his stats to STR 24!!? Why?

What am I missing?

We've been collecting Pathfinder minis for about 2 years now (I was late to the game). We only need one more!

The infamous Duergar Soldier.

Anyone have one they'd like to sell me? Name your price! Paypal required.

I'm trying to compile a list of all of the Pathfinder Hardcover, Player Companions, and Campaign Setting books.

Take a look, and let me know of any that I've missed. I appreciate any help in finishing the list! Thank you!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have looked in the book and in several forums but i must be missing it.

Is breaking a grapple a standard action, a move action, or swift?

Hello fellow Pathfinders!

TL;DR Buying Duergar Soldier to complete our miniature collection. It's the last one we need!

My fiancee and I started collecting Pathfinder minis 2 years ago. I had sold my old D&D collection a few years back to make ends meet. (Awful decision!) We were at our local gaming store, and picked up a box of Deadly Foes. We were instantly hooked, and went back into the store to buy more. Lol! Since then, she's been on a mission to collect all of them. Even occasionally pestering Paizo directly trying to find some of the rarer ones. At one point, she called virtually every gaming store in the U.S.

(I am not joking about this. She lost count at 180+ stores but kept calling state by state looking for a Gargantuan Red Dragon.)

After 2+ years, we've caught up, and the collection is ALMOST complete...
Almost.

Despite all out best efforts, we're still missing the GenCon 2015 Duergar Soldier promo.

Typically when Troll & Toad had them, they went for about $14 or so. Since I understand it's rare, and I started collecting so late, I'm willing to pay $50 for this miniature. If anyone has even just one to part with, I'd appreciate it! I really just want her to move on past this telemarketer's phase! Ha!

Thanks!

Two questions about Psychic Duels.

1. Would a Mesmerist's Trick pool count for extra MP like Ki, or Panache would?

"When in a Mindscape, both participants' bodies become unresponsive. A creature adjacent to the body of a combatant can attempt to shake that creature out of its torpor as a standard action. Doing so is a melee touch attack that deals no damage but allows the combatant to attempt a new saving throw against the effect that started the psychic duel. If the check is successful, the mind of the roused creature returns to its body and the duel ends. A creature in a psychic duel can attempt no more than one additional save per round in this way."

From this reading, I have another question.

2. Does an attack against that creature give them another Save to break free? Or do they just automatically break free?

My thinking is that shaking them to wake them up MIGHT wake them up (with a will save), but an attack might just snap them out automatically.
