Since I assume he can't re-shrink them.

He seems to be more caught up in the idea of new tools than their actual practicality in the mission. "But yes! After a second, he seems to rethink and pulls his wand out. "Actually, Gert, perhaps you'd like ta hang on ta this? Seems like the kind o' thin' we might want handy-like." He's keeping his lock picks as a shrunk down item, but otherwise putting all his gear (armor, weapons, things for making his extracts, etc) into the chest.
