I could go either way on continuing. I wasn't planning to play Kubbup at Gen Con, because I figured we wouldn't be done by then, and I have other low level PCs I can play instead. But if we quit now, I can level him up to 2nd and have one more option to bring with me when I play the first season 9 scenario (which is tier 1-5). ![]()

![]() I'll be leaving for Gen Con on Wednesday morning, and not coming home until Monday, so I don't know how often I'll be able to post. And I'll be posting from a phone, so I probably won't be able to see maps or anything like that. If you want to bot me, go ahead - Kubbup just fires arrows a lot, as you've seen. Actually, I forgot to use my poison arrow in my first shot against the minotaur, so my next two shots will use the arrows that I put the poison on earlier. Assuming we win this fight, I'll put poison on two more arrows (my last two doses of the day) before we head back in to finish exploring the rest of the cave system, and use them against any enemies that don't look like oozes, plants, swarms, or undead. ![]()

Also, before heading deeper into the caves, Kubbup will create two uses of his daily poison (from the Poison Darter archetype) and apply them to two of his arrows. He makes sure to put those two arrows to one side in his quiver, so he can choose to reach for poisoned or unpoisoned arrows as appropriate if combat breaks out. He climbs down to the water level, and tries to reach the cloth in the water from where he is. Assuming he can get it, he then climbs up to the other side of the pit, so his rope is spanning the distance, and can be used by the other party members. He'll then anchor it on this side. ![]()

He watches the others curiously, especially Zilona, but doesn't say much, unless discussion turns to their natural surroundings. And yes, I have a boon that lets me play a grippli. Just so you know, I have two weird archetypes. Skirmisher is from Advanced Players Guide and completely gives up ranger magic for hunter tricks, so I'll never get a caster level, and can't even use wands of spells normally on the ranger list. Other than that, it doesn't affect anything until level 5. Poison Darter is from Blood of the Beast. At level 1, all you need to know is that it gives up favored enemies for some free poison, which kinda sucks at this level. The save DC scales with level and wisdom increases, and it can sicken enemies at level 5, so that's the level when both archetypes become worthwhile. ![]()
