TOZ's Weapons:
-1 Kukri, punching dagger, and lots of spare daggers.
-2 The dwarfiest of waraxes
-3 Started with a battleaxe but switched to stereotypical longsword
-4 Gladius because P/S
-5 My bard has other people to do the killing for her
-6 Likewise, my oracle gives and takes life in other ways
-7 The owlbear is the weapon
-8 The POWER OF THE EFREETI is all I need!
-9 I too wield the POWER OF THE EFREETI to vanquish my foes!
-10 Bombs, bombs, and more bombs
-11 Also lots of daggers
-12 Halberd for the trip
-13 Pistols are OP yo
-14 Boring rapiers because buckling swashes
-15 Earthbreakers make great blunt instruments of nonlethal damage
-16 Longbows are OP yo
-17 Glaive because Shelyn
-18 Longaxe of the dwarfiest kind, but also feet of fury
-19 Falchions are a half-orcs best friend
-20 Also carries her goddesses holy weapon, but mostly for show
-21 Nodachis are fun, and he finally got a lance in case he needs to make something explode on a charge
-22 Scythes to better serve the goddess, and because Hand of the Apprentice with it is hilarious
-23 Tetsubos are scary, even with just nonlethal damage
-24 I think he has a dagger, but really what does a witch need it when he has hexes?
-25 The longbow again, although elven curve blade backup is also pretty standard
-26 TBD
-27 He's got a dagger, but melee is not where my loracle should be
-28 TBD, probably bombs
-29 TBD, hopefully claws
-30 TBD
-31 TBD
-32 Morningstar, but like my other oracles really shouldn't be in combat
-33 TBD

Yeah, looks like I stick to pretty standard stuff.

I've only ever seen 1 PC smaller than Small. They were riding a fairy dragon the whole adventure.

Alright, I'm gonna hop on the weapon wagon too:

Weapons!:

-1 Longbow
-2 Natural Weapons. Usually Claw/Claw/Bite as a troglodyte
-3 Fists or an Obsidian Temple Sword
-4 Musket. Really wants a railgun
-5 Greatsword, Lucern Hammer, or spiked gauntlets (depending on the needed material)
-6 ... They're just having trouble deciding what to do with their life...
-7 Lance and Longsword
-8 Kukris
-9 Bombs and Alchemical Weapons
-10 Elven Curved Blade an Deinonychus
-11 Falchion
-12 Longsword, I think
-13 Naginata
-14 Bear
-15 Pistol

I'm unreasonably pleased that only the Longsword shows up twice on that list.

I forgot I had a naginata! I found it on an adventure in Tian Xia.

My Phalanx Soldier uses a bill, which I have yet to see anyone else use! My Picaroon uses a wakizashi, just in case I ever need to do slashing damage to get around DR. Other than that, she's the stereotypical 'roon: multiclassed with Mysterious Stranger and Juggler Bard.

Grand Lodge 5/5 ⦵⦵ Venture-Agent, Texas—Austin aka Partizanski

I have a decent mix of the "best weapons" and some odd ball ones. I am the only one that I have seen use spiked chain, falcata, dwarven boulder helm, or sawtooth sabre at least.

Weapons:

1-Bombs
2-Falcata
3-Fists
4-Longspear
5-Shadows
6-Heavy Mace
7-Fists
8-2 Sawtooth sabres
9-Spiked chain
10-Explode Head
11-Bastard Sword
12-Dwarven Boulder Helm (was going to be two boot knives before feather step slippers nerf)
13-Water Blast
14-Phantom Slams
15-Scythe
16-Longsword or Bite depending on form
17-Longsword? (My one core character, only played once)
18- Still a GM blob
19-Musket
20-Battle Axe
21-Gauntlet
22-Longsword

My trip/disarm/AoO character also uses a Bill, so hi!

I've also got a character that uses a kunai. It's in the Light Blades group, so it qualifies for being sawback. It's also a descendent of a trowel, so he's got two reasons he can legitimately say without lying "it's a tool." Take that, Zone of Truth.

Beyond that, my only two characters with "unusual" weapons are someone who swings around rock weapons (kineticist) and someone who uses Skull-On-A-Stick (stupid cool-but-overpriced unique weapons on chronicles...) The others have reasons for what they use, but they're not rare weapons.

I'm planning on making a spiked chain swashbuckler, using the chain coat to make it work (since Dance of Chains didn't get legalized). It's almost certainly going to need to be credited up to functionality, though, since I kinda need mithril medium armor...

One other thing I almost never see is a character that uses something other than the top 10 most common weapons. No one seems to like building characters around anything but the mechanically 'best' weapons.

There are some really awesome weapons in the books that get no love at all.

-1 Falcata or Sawtooth Sabre (As a Life Oracle no less!)
-3 Longsword
-4 Musket / Pupper
-5 Scimitar (Dawnflower Dervish)
-6 Harrow Cards!
-7 Large Sized -redacted- Warhammer

-12 Unarmed Strikes with Telekinetic Power!
-14 Claws if needed? Buff Cleric
-15 Longbow
-16 Longsword
-17 Scimitar (but Strength!)
-18 Chakram. Exclusively Chakram.
-19 Longbow and snark. Father says I should see the world, but I know he just wants me out of the house so his mistress can live at home. I'll outlive her just likk the last one...
-20 Pistol and Unarmed Strikes
-21 Bastard Sword (Elysian Bronze!)
-22 Musket
-23 Pistol (And Spells? It's Complicated)
-24 Ayla Tough! Ayla Punch!
-25 an Eidolon I think?

Ok, data so far is tabulated. By far the most common weapon is unarmed strikes / natural attacks. Next up is those who just declared some kind of spellcasting. Then we get into real weapons.

Longbow (includes composite and regular) was the clear winner. Despite Rysky trying to throw the curve, longsword then narrowly beats out greatsword.

Hmm... looking at the numbers again, I might be able to get away with just using a masterwork chain coat and Armor Expert, and dealing with the speed penalty until I can get mithril. Of course, then I'll have a dead trait. Take Additional Traits and retrain it away later?

Decisions, decisions...

I’m very pleased to have 5 weapons I’ve been the only one to mention so far (and 2 that only 1 other person has mentioned). Though I suspect the [redacted]bow will be popular as more people gain access to it.

hmm. I would have nearly doubled the number of scythe users if I listed my characters (at least counting their back up weapons.)

I keep telling myself I should make a wayang fighting fan user, but I haven't figured out the build I want yet. Maybe a slayer?

James, your calculations are off, you'll need to remove one Longsword because:

Spoiler:

off topic fighting fan:
I did it with a Ninja long ago, before Unchained Rogues and Slayers were a thing. Two-Weapon Feint build. She’s 12th now and has been sitting idle since season 6.

Snakebite Brawler would actually make a pretty good build. Roughly the same sneak attack dice as a slayer. Some earlier, some later. More versatile bonus feats than Slayer. Archetype abilities to help with feinting and flanking. Close weapon mastery to eventually improve damage die.

Silver Crusade 1/5

Most of my characters have pretty basic weaponry, so here're some gems among them.

-01: Sharpened Combat Scabbard
-27: Lance (from a wallaby's pouch)
-34: Crossbows (thrown)
-51: Fireworks

Per that, here is my rare PFS sighting for the week. I have rarely seen a lance-toting wayang fighter (19 strength) charging into battle in the pouch of a giant wallaby (the latter of whom happens to worship Tar-Baphon). Maybe a few times, I guess. Hey, wait, that was me!

4/5

I think I missed a dorn-dergar and a longspear somewhere in my list, but it shouldn't thow the table off much. Interesting results regardless.

Slyme wrote:

I very rarely see small sized martial characters. Don't see many small sized characters at all really, people around here seem to have something against Halflings, Gnomes, etc.

Very few of any of the occult classes other than the kineticist,

I've never seen anyone play a Wayang.

I think I am the only person locally who has tried to play an illusion focused character...who I retired after only a few adventures because so few GMs properly understand how illusion magic works.

I've only ever seen an alchemist played via the pre-gen.

I've got both of those first two in the same PC: a grippli medium with the fiend keeper archetype, who always channels the champion spirit to be a front liner with a sword.

I actually have a lot of small PCs: 3 gnomes, 3 halflings, 2 gripplies, and a ratfolk. No wayang, though (yet). One of my gnomes is actually an illusionist, though I don't focus exclusively on illusions, due to not being sure how GMs will react. So he's a useful wizard in other regards, too.

I'm surprised by the alchemist comment. They're not as popular as they used to be a few years ago, but they're still relatively common. Wayang used to be a lot more popular when they were a boon race, and people made them just because they were special. I haven't seen any new ones recently.

My weapon list:

1. Nodachi
2. Fireball/Holy Smite (cleric of Sarenrae with Fire domain)
3. Composite Longbow
4. The other PCs (luck domain buff focused cleric)
5. Glitterdust and the other PCs (controller sorcerer with Haste known)
6. Magic (blasting sorcerer)
7. Scimitar
8. Longsword
9. Composite Longbow
10. Glaive
11. Words (Debuff bard specializing in insulting the enemies)
12. Magic (debuff "bad touch" cleric)
13. Both ends of a Shillelagh Quarterstaff
14. Mostly lightning, but occasionally rocks (casting focused druid, usually controller, but uses Call Lightning or Stone Call for some damage)
15. Greatsword
16. Katana
17. Composite Longbow for now, magic at higher levels (core elven wizard impersonating an archer using his racial proficiency at low levels, will probably put away the bow for good around level 5 when he has enough spells per day not to need it)
18. Dwarven longhammer, dwarven boulder helmet (dwarven blacksmith/foehammer fighter who refuses to make (or use) any weapon that doesn't have the word "dwarven" or "hammer" in its name - throws light hammers as his only ranged weapons)
19. Repeating heavy crossbow
20. Daggers. Lots and lots of daggers.
21. Javelin thrower
22. Heavy flail, animal companion has bite, talon, talon
23. Magic (buff/heal witch with some debuffing, but not as much as most witches)
24. Illusions and other magic (gnome illusionist)
25. DOA
26. Enchantments and summoned critters (clone of #25 who died in her first adventure)
27. Elven curve blade (despite not being an elf)
28. Bombs
29. Composite Longbow, Poison
30. Whip

So my 12 melee PCs have 13 different primary melee weapons, with no repeats. I'd call that pretty good variety. And my magic based PCs have very little redundancy, as well, though there's a little bit here and there in the spell selection of obvious "best" spells (Bless, Glitterdust, etc).

The only real repetition is 4 composite longbows among my 6 primarily ranged martials, though two of those are PCs I got bored with early and almost never play, and one is a wizard who will stop using the bow once he has enough spells per day to just do magic full time. And because the wizard is core, I never have the chance to play him, anyway. So my three ranged martials that I actually like enough to want to play regularly actually do have three different primary weapons.

And looking at the latest compiled list, I'm the only one with javelins or poison on my list. So I'm proud to contribute two more entries to the list.

Make that two Pepperbox Pistols, actually!

My weapons-

Spoiler:

1 (Monk) Fists, elbows, knees, feet... has Sai and Tonfa for no real reason.
2 (Sorcerer) MY WITS AND CHARM! And a Cestus, so i can provide flanking...
3 (Alchemist) BOMBS! LOTS OF BOMBS! And a Falchion and Hurl-bat i rarely use.
4 (Druid) My Ankylosaurus is my main weapon; as am I when I WildShape. I also have a Scimitar and quarterstaff.
5 (Shaman, GM baby) I have a morning star, a sickle, and a dagger?
6 (Bloodrager/Spiritualist) Dwarven Urgrosh and Dwarven Maul-axe when he needs to bash things. Should i mention he's a Dwarf? His phantom doesn't really do much punching.
7 (Swashbuckler/Ranger) Rapier, duh.
8 (U.Rogue/Warpriest) STARKNIVES!
9 (Fighter) Halberd... and a fox mauler familiar.

"Those are my clansmen you're talking about! I was away on a hunting trip when the evil came and killed them all. Some Pathfinders helped stop the evil, and I had no reason to stay when I returned and found my village all dead, so I decided to follow the Pathfinders to their city and join them."

Is it Omrataji? I haven't met any other followers of him in the society. Though I'm a bolt ace and don't use the weapon myself, it is beautiful how it flows like a stream of silver.

Player: (It's probably not Omrataji...)

"Ah, that was your tribe! I am sorry for your loss, but your clansmen were quite the use against the invaders. I had asked for a proper burial after the fighting, so that there wouldn't be any undead, or scavengers desecrating their graves. Valiant folks, your clansmen!"

*With a croak, a bolt of green slams into Michael and before he knows what happened, he's tied up with several grippli's sitting on him*

Teht croaks with satisfaction. "You shall be brought to justice!"
"Tehturee" is a Strangler (Brawler)/ Constable (Cavalier) Grippli

Sadly, not Omrataji. Though, I haven't met any worshippers of my inquisitors particular God yet, either. ;)

Due to the nature of PFS, I don't see many characters built with specific other characters in mind (apart from companion critters). So my wife and I have built a pair of Liberty's Edge characters who are half-siblings who look out for each other: a half-orc skulking slayer and a half-elf inquisitor. And they're both Greenbottles, because they were adopted by halflings after Pa went off to war one too many times.

We have an idea for another team-pair, who are about as opposite from the Greenbottle sibs as you can get in PFS: an Asmodean cleric, and a summoner with a (non-combat!) devil eidolon, both professional barristers. (But we won't be starting them until we get some more of our other PCs out of the lowest tiers.)

I have a couple of characters built for that. The one that currently exists is Ghatiyara, my oread yojimbo, who acts as bodyguard to her sister (an oread reliquarian played by pH unbalanced).

We're also looking into maybe making a pair of vishkanya Lion Blades, but if I end up having to move for work, that might not pan out.

We have a group of Ulfen that are going through emerald spire together, build around a Skald, so everyone wades (or tries to in my life oracle's case) into melee using the raging song.

There are a few players locally who play together frequently and made a set of Gnomish triplets who work as a team.

In my local playgroup, there's a father/son who's characters compliment each other, but aren't build around a teamwork.

My friend has a Ratfolk Gulchgunner who's looking for another Ratfolk to get swarming with, and has convinced me to make a Barbarian to get benefit of the Ratfolk's FCB with the Barbarian.
Haven't had a chance to play it, or with him yet.

That said, he and his wife have a couple of Kineticists who do the whole combined fusion blast thing.

Unless the divan has bullrushed enemies, I don't think that counts as a weapon. :-p

My list is a little strange because of how many GM blobs exist unbuilt. I'll use the * for spells as Ryan did.

-02: Glaive
-03: Longspear*
-04: Warhammer*
-05: Warhammer/Battleaxe*
