Alic, you can't reach the enemy with your sword from where you are. You'll have to negotiate with the party to work something out. The module put the 10 x 10 creature there, it can't realy move out and you only have 1 square to work melee from. I'll let you revise your action, if you like.

"It's a slime mold! They're resistant to fire and immune has no discernable vital spots!" Hayali calls out to her peers, alerting them to what she knows.

Grimacing, she realizes there's not exactly a lot she can do from all the way in the back, but she wasn't sure if mind-affecting spells would even work on the creature. That said, she lets her quarterstaff fall and draws out her crossbow, taking the time to draw the lever back carefully.

After several arrows fly pasther head, Zilona will step back in to continue her recent hobby of gardening. "I'll be honest, I can't tell if you're doing anything to it. It still looks like a pile of fungus." With a grunt she slips to the side to avoid the next slam, bringing her weapon around to drag behind the offending appendage as if trying to clear a wheat field.

Between Zalona and Hayali the slime mold falls in a heap of goo and stops fighting. It has been defeated.

You hear Janira's voice more clearly as you continue along the path. You feel a draft of fresh air as you climb slightly. There is an increasing amount of natural light too. It looks like the silvery light of a full moon.

The light of the surface world above provides a welcome reprieve from the blue and green fungus of the caverns below, and the light illuminates a stream whose water is hastened by runoff from a recent storm further up the mountains. A ledge to the west rises up to the nearby forest canopy.

Janira and the minotaur suddenly appear again, obviously exhausted and still fighting each other.

Following the archers out of the cave, Fialka frowns as the minotaur is so far from the group, With Janira foolishly trying to fight it off. Rushing towards the log, as her spells have no chance of reaching the bull-headed monster Fialka shouts towards Janira, hoping to get the Halfling's attention.

"This way! come towards us, we will slow the creature down!" She encourages, hoping the veteran will see the sense.

Taking in the sight, Hayali winces. This is... a less than optimal outcome. Janira clearly hadn't managed to lose the minotaur as she'd planned. Growling under her breath a bit, Hayali advances, considering what the best course of action would be.

The enemy... is a minotaur - Janira had said as much.

And their current priority was to get Janira to safety - optimally without getting anyone killed in the process. Perhaps...

Hayali began gesturing, clearly uttering the words necessary, and pointed where she wanted her illusion to appear. As she concentrated, a wall of what appears to be flames appears between the minotaur and Janira.

Hayali's using silent image? DC 15 will save negates if he interacts with the 'fire'. It say I get four 10-ft cubes + one 10-ft cube, so if possible, I'd like to make it appear that the minotaur is surrounded unless he retreats? (I added lil' lines for where I'd want 'em. >^<)

The two arrows land short of the minotaur as it moves back away from the flames. It throws a javelin at Jarira.

The javelin misses Janira and she takes advantage of the fire to make a break and heads toward the party.

Kubbup remembers his poison arrows that he forgot about when he instinctively drew and fired at the minotaur last time. He moves forward again, but this time, he shoots a poison arrow at the beast.

You may move it, however the image of fire gives off no smell or temperature so he may not continue to run from this not hot, not smelling life fire fire

Yeah, that's your turn. It doesn't list a type of action for moving it, but it does require concentration so you have to focus on it to move it and probably can't do too much more. You could move I guess

Taking a deep breath, Fialka turns to look at the Minotaur, glad Janira is moving away from it and towards them. Feeling her anger bubbling up inside her, the calm painter takes on a new air entirely, her hair turning white and her skin greying slightly. Her eyes glow and her voice becomes interlaced with something not quite of this world. She waits for the Minotaur to come closer before her eyes flash and the Minotaur is struck with bad luck!

Zilona mutters to herself, having moved up closer to the fight and being vaguely annoyed that her armor has weighed her down from reaching all the interesting parts. "Look out, dear ones. Lady coming through." She gets up to speed, her heavily clad feet striking the ground with force as she hits the edge of the stream and launches herself over to the far side.

She lands awkwardly on one foot, arms going wide as she pinwheels them to catch her balance. She manages to recover and braces herself with her scythe held crosswise as she takes position between the Minotaur and Janira.

Zilona spends the round getting to her new position, including an acrobatics check to jump the stream.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 - 3 ⇒ (7) + 1 - 3 = 5
GM Reroll + 3 Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 - 3 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 1 - 3 + 3 = 20

Amethyst drinks back het mutagen and she begins to feel her muscles and yendons grow. Her body Seems to change right before the groups eyes she seems to move with more finesse she runs ahead to use the plank crossing the steam.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Ending her turn ready to cross, bomb components in hand.

the minotaur will move toward Zilona. he wants to get at Janira but Zilona is in the way. He sees through Hayali's illusion, moves up and makes two swings with his broken axe at Zilona.

DC15 Will save for fire: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Axe 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Axe 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Both swings glance off her armour.

Meanwhile Janira takes the chance to jump over the stream.

Acrobatics Janira: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 1 = 13

She makes it YAY

"Glad to see that you got away alive", Kubbup tells Janira when she lands next to him on this side of the stream.

He moves right up to the edge of the stream, putting him within point blank range of the minotaur, and sends his second poisoned arrow flying towards the enemy.

attack, inspire courage, point blank shot, trait bonus: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 15
shirt reroll, 3 GM stars: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 26

Again, if I hit, then it gets a DC 13 Fort save to resist the poison and avoid the dex damage.

Hayali sighs, but shrugs. The minotaur might've seen through her illusion, but at least Janira had gotten away. You've gotta take your wins where you can, right? She lets the illusion go. It'll last for one more round (extended illusions) and eyes her ring consideringly before coming to a decision.

She moves further up the cliff accesses the ring's potent power and casts magic missile on the Minotaur.
Magic Missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

By the way, how high does this thing go?

Two more arrows bury into the minotaur. It is starting to look like a pin cushion. A missile of magic also slams into the beast.

The minotaur falls unconscious and there is a faint smell of roast beef.

My thanks to you all. I would have been a gonner if you had not appeared when you did. Janira sips at her waterskin and reclaims what is left of her pack from you.

So, what did you find? Did you see a gillman? I hope you got a good map. She looks expectantly at each of you and awaits a report.

We can call it a game here, or if you choose to explore further into the cave system you may. The choice is up to you. I'll go with the majority so once we have 4 one way or the other I'll make an update

Seeing that the enemy is down, Hayali activates feather fall (spell like ability) and drops down from the height to proceed onwards to the others.

"We're glad that you're alive and, well. Hopefully soon to be well?" Hayali grins. "We saw a gillman! And we've got a lot to share!" She shows some of her notes.

I'd be fine with exploring more - fastest pbp I've ever encountered thus far. o:

I hate PbPs that get bogged down. I hope I didn't rush you all. I tried to let everyone have a say in direction and not push too hard. I would welcome any feedback people have for me. I am a new GM and still finding my feet a little. Public or PM constructive criticism is welcome. I heard of someone who acted as an intermediary for anonymous feedback and I think it is a good idea so I will find someone to do that and post soon with their name, in case you want to go that way.

Kubbup tells Janira, "Yes, we met a gillman. There was quite a bit of interest in the cave. We took good notes as a group, though I mostly took guard duty, while the others wrote things down."

I could go either way on continuing. I wasn't planning to play Kubbup at Gen Con, because I figured we wouldn't be done by then, and I have other low level PCs I can play instead. But if we quit now, I can level him up to 2nd and have one more option to bring with me when I play the first season 9 scenario (which is tier 1-5).

"The cave is an old shrine to the dead god, Aroden. The Gillmen are using it as some sort of sacred site to their own gods now." Zilona spends a few moments nudging the creature that just tried to take her head off with a toe. When it doesn't show any response she briefly debates making certain anyways, but defers in favor of leaning down to pat it on the shoulder before making her way to the rest of the ground.

"That little beast swung hard, my shoulder is going to be sore for a week just from blocking his axe."

I'm fine either way. I'm not playing any super low content in the future, mostly just running stuff.
