Maybe I should have created a blasty arcane trickster mage/thief after all! Much as others, I'd have no qualms about adjusting my character so for the sake of party balance if it comes to that, especially since I already had arcane trickster on the radar. I didn't catch if anyone was primarily a ranged combatant--but any such character could cover at least the ranged combat aspect of being a "blaster."
HP: 3d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) = 7. Hello, please find Tazo's submission of Krovek Vorenus, Human Rogue Phantom Thief/Eldritch Scoundrel. He's a sneaky bastard (literally) in search of fame and glory! Knows a bit of magic and such, but remains on the more roguey side of things as it's currently built. Thanks for your consideration, and please let me know if there's anything I ought to change or fix. If it would help to have a canon noble family of Cormyr, I'm more than happy to do that and submit under a different alias name!

Krovek laughs. "Ah, so comin' back home, eh? Well, home ain't always easy, 'specially when ya got a strange family history. I can sure tell ya a bit about that." Krovek shares some history of him, his father, and his brother--confirming that Cator really is his half-brother. "Low profile? Guess that's normal for a burglar and all, but not really my style. How 'bout some payback! Maybe visit that Keri girl, take some of the coins and jewelry she said you stole." He lifts up his glass half-seriously as a toast to his own plan.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek is relaxing and enjoying some well-earned ale as he tries to forget the horrors of the manor they had just explored. He didn't really like getting mind-controlled to near death. He grins when Shae comes in, but is surprised by the news. "Heya Shae--wait, Hollie wants us goin' again? Sure ya don't wanna have a drink first? A half-hour won't change much if we're talkin' 'bout goin' ta Magnimar."
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Thankful that his druidic magics were able to dispel the swarm, Krovek joins in the awful slog back to home. He was thankful that they had removed Aldern . . . even if the evil in the house remained. A warning not to go to that place was all he could offer. In the morning, Krovek sees the awful disease spreading through Cator. "Hold up, Shae. Lemme give it a shot first." After communing for spells in the morning, he tries to restore Cator to good health. Remove Disease: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Could pop more Remove Diseases depending on how this goes.

Krovek lets out a sigh of relief. "What the hell was that? The house told me ta jump off the cliff! Not sure how you knew I'd be alright, Lunal." Krovek seems determined to go back inside, but he sees everyone looking at him. "Just gettin' my axe. Ain't messin' with this house no more." He then heads back out. "Guess there was one good thing 'bout this house. I've been wantin' ta figure out how ta change into somethin' bigger, and this f%++ing house finally got me ta do it."
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Once Krovek gets his nerves back, he seems to be egged on by Lunal's own rage. "Seriously, f*$+ this place, ya ain't seen nothin' yet!" The half-orc does something no one has seen before, as he transforms into a much more powerful looking troll! With a giant greataxe in hand, he starts arbitrarily chopping at a wall, support beam, or any other structural element, to deliver some payback. Greataxe: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30; Damage: 3d6 + 9 ⇒ (3, 5, 1) + 9 = 18
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek starts looking around the room quickly again. Was it a girl's bedroom? What was the story here? It was hard to piece it all together. He's on guard for trouble as Shae attempts to ease Hollie out of the room. But he'll calm down once he realizes that Hollie has control of her faculties once more.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
After poking about the books, Krovek also inspects the stained glass.
He shrugs, not really understanding. "Keep goin'? Sooner we finish our search, sooner we can burn the place down."
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Don't touch that pick, Lunal--yellow mold! It's dangerous, gotta deal with it first. Burn it. Or I guess sunlight, but that's not happenin." Krovek considers the predicament and lacks good answers, except one. "Well, if we're gonna get that magic pick before we burn this stuff, better if I give it a go. I've inhaled far worse, and I ain't just talkin' 'bout that hagfish goop. Y'all make some room." Assuming folks step back, Krovek will give it a go.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Nice swing, bro," says Krovek as Cator lands a brutal strike. "Was tired o' that bat's screechin'." After collecting the loot, including the surprisingly valuagle remains, he leads the way to the last area on this level. Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Oops! Didn't realize Hollie made room. "Hey, you've got yer own pet!" cries Krovek as Hollie tries to give the orders. Still, Krovek wasn't going to give up the opportunity. And neither was Kazaht. With barely an order, the beast moves eagerly up to fight side-by-side with Krovek.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek moves into the room. Unable to reach the bat-thing quickly, he tries instead to launch his own magics at it! Snowball vs touch (and flat-footed?), into melee: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 4 = 14; Damage: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 3, 3) = 16 Kazaht enters the room as well and guards Krovek. Move, readied attack.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Well, maybe we can't burn a cave down, but fungus'll burn, right?"
"Best ta search the rest o' this place before burnin' it down. We already know Aldern was part o' somethin' bigger. Who knows what else we'll find."
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Nice one, Kazaht!" says Krovek in Orcish, as the massive creature successfully gores Aldern. He gives the beast a friendly rub, definitely glad that the ghoul beast was slain. * * * "So how do we finish off a fungus? Can we just burn it? Like Hollie says, we should burn this whole stupid place down. And hope that takes care of the ghouls." He then picks up the note. "Hey, you all see this? Aldern is part of somethin' bigger. Not sure what, but seems like trouble."
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Shaken for 3 rounds. The sight of Aldern decapitating Iesha is horrifying, and Krovek suddenly wonders if he's going to survive this fight. There was only one right response. "Aaaaarghhh!" He shouts a battle cry, trying to turn the tables and scare Aldern! Move and attack. Also, Omen swift action demoralize (which probably doesn't work against undead but I'll try it anyway). Greataxe, IR, Shaken: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18; Damage, IR: 1d12 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Meanwhile, as Shaedeen flees, Kazaht suddenly moves up in her place and attempts to gore the wretched undead!
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek hesitates in striking out as Aldern undergoes his transformation and immediately regrets it as he transforms into some evil undead. "Listen to Lunal!" agrees Krovek. He sidesteps and strikes!
Kazaht makes an effort to join his friends, though it's doubtful that he will contribute given the crowded space. I think he's mobile again; will double move.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Stay back, Shae, don't let this creeper get to you."
5-foot step, readied attack.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
As the immediate threats subside, Krovek pops out his healing wand and heals himself.
Sadly, Kazaht can't follow at the moment because he's still paralyzed!
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Finally!" Krovek feels reassured again as the threats around Kazaht are eliminated and Krovek starts connecting with his own attacks. Assuming that Drax obliterates the goblin ghast in front of him, he engages the other one and with another heavy swing of the axe.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek senses his companion has suffered a dangerous wound. "Kazaht is paralyzed--protect him!" he demands. He himself tries to finish off the immediate threat so he can also help. Greataxe, IR: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 1 = 26; Damage: 1d12 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek again tries to kill any of the ghouls left behind by Drax!
Kazaht attempts to block the advance of the ghoul attacking Lunal. Double move.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
"Look out, Shae--they're all goin' for you!" Krovek moves to engage one of the ghouls attacking her.
Kazaht dutifully follows Lunal, standing guard. Move and ready attack.
Male Human Rogue (Eldritch Scoundrel / Phantom Thief) 4
Krovek jumps in with healing as well as Shae is suddenly wounded. CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
"What in th' Nine Hells? Aldern made himself into a ghoul for you? Did he do the same thing for that revenant?" He reminds himself to treat Shae for disease before the day ends, in case Ghoul Fever might have somehow been transmitted by that weird vision.
