”These lizards have been using mind magics. Those acting oddly are probably under a spell.” Krishka adds. ”Shamans can break such spells if they are powerful enough.”
”Let’s go then! We’ve battle and glory ahead!” Krishka says with a laugh.
Her companions might notice this is different from how she spoke before running into the orcs.
Given that I’m an orc, I don’t really like grudges against orcs. Just saying.
I also think that if a certain dwarf had a grudge against orcs, I’d have born the brunt of it before now. Kind if like a certain elf now that I think of it.
With the storm and the next one this weekend, posting may be spotty for a while.
Krishka nods in assent to the orcs and waves the dwarf over, ”I will speak to your chief. This is one of my companions, a warrior dwarf named Chestman. Shall he and my other companions join us, or should they meet up with us for the attack?” Krishka asks, uncertain about these orc’s tribal traditions regarding non-orcs.

** spoiler omitted ** Krishka then says in orc, "The lizardmen might be powerful, but you can help us thin their numbers." Krishka responds in orc without really thinking about the language, ”Ha, I would be disappointed if you didn’t invite me, though I am sure my odd collection of companions will want to come along too. We are already preparing to make a raid ourselves since the lizardmen have been harassing this town recently. Thus when I saw you arrive, I knew it was divine influence that brought you to join us in battle against the lizardmen.”

Alright, the insane days are over. Maybe a busy day will pop up, but none scheduled. I have slept for 12 hours straight and actually get a day off.
So I am back. I’m sorry for just being gone. I’ve worked such hours before but usually at a nice calm job. This time around it’s been a lot of fast paced physical labor, and that just about killed me. It’s seasonal work, so I can only hope the effort earned me a permanent position.
In any case, GM I am not bothered if in the future someone wants to bot my character to keep things moving forward. I wouldn’t want everyone else to be stuck waiting because real life jumped up and kicked me in the butt.
I’m sorry for not posting recently. I got caught up in working doubles till Christmas. So my posts will be sporadic till then. Same goes for my doom of cormanthyr character as well naturally.

Orcish Diplomacy! Too bad some elves are too haughty to notice the subtle art and exact science of manipulation. :)

”The strongest of the swamp? What about the lizardfolk? They seem pretty strong too. Care to prove your strength against them?”
Kriska counters, seeing this as a chance to get the lizardfolk weakened and distracted. "The Lizardmen?" says the orc. "We are stronger than the lizardfolk." ”Then prove it. Come with us to fight the lizardfolk, and we can show those lizards what real strength is.”
Counter intimidation (don’t have either skill, so whichever is better): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
”Well Riverborn. Are you weaklings, or would you rather face a real challenge?” Krishka responds in a challenging tone. Orcs abhor even the appearance of weakness, so she doesn’t sue for peace, nor speak softly, but rather sounds aggressive and tries to aim for steering them into aiming at a better battle to be had.
Suddenly having an idea, she smiles in amusement and when she gets close enough, she calls out to the orcs, ”I’m Krishka, born of Whitetusk! I’ve got better prey than you to deal with.”
Krishka heads in the same direction, but not bothering to hide and therefore straying a bit from her companions so they won’t get noticed when the orcs spot her. She figures it is unlikely, but maybe being an orc herself she can rebuff the raid with a duel or something instead of all out combat. If so, she might get some information or maybe even point them in the direction of the lizard folk.
”Some would say it is beneath an orc to read a book, yet…” she gestures with the open book in her hand. ”Besides, one generally does not choose to be charmed or dominated. We seem to be dealing some sort of charm magic the lizardfolk are using on the villagers, and I suspect the lizardfolk themselves may be under the same effects.”
Looking at Krishka, they might notice her nice clothes are in elven style and she has a well made elven style sword and what seems to possibly be a spell pouch.
”In any case, I am Krishka Whitetusk of house Galastacia. Pleasure to make your acquaintance.”
my understanding was that we were having some ooc plans on purchases we should consider while walking to the mayor’s. That was my impression anyway.
Krishka looked up from her book to give the elf a once over with a discerning eye. ”Ever been charmed or dominated?” Her bulky frame, though slim for an orc, is still at odds with her well made clothes that seem fit more for a librarian, yet still seems imposing as she carefully considers Nailo.
Judging by the real world, mules can be stubborn but are aware of the packs on their backs and avoid hitting obstacles with those packs, unlike horses. A horse is easier to deal with and usually liked better, and I imagine there are reasons for that.
I have four days rations already, wait three now since breakfast. I don’t know how populated the area is, but it’s pretty rare to be more than a day out from a village even in merely somewhat settled areas, if we can get a map showing the various villages in the area, there will probably be several bordering the swamp or whatever territory is the lizardfolk’s. We should know that so we have more options when leaving or if we need to get more supplies.
”Careful. Advertising that kind of money is likely to attract many bandits, thieves, and conmen to relieve you of your coin.” Krishka warns quietly.
Thank goodness this isn’t a face to face game. If it was, you’d find any possible excuse to put that thing on the table.
:)
”I see.” Krishka says thoughtfully as she lets the others continue their questions. She watches the lizardfolk closely for any other signs of influence.
Krishka raises an alternate line of questioning ”And just what makes you think you haven’t been charmed by your god?”
Krishka would give the trog a few bites, just enough to not starve to death. So the trog will have a chance to speak, assuming he cooperates anyway. Krishka has a mean right hook, and any trouble means no breakfast for him.
Krishka is not making a mess of the kitchen, but somehow it feels surprising that she isn’t. She clearly has very little idea of what she is doing, but thankfully she is sticking to simple, boiling water with some jerky to make a stew, with a few dried veggies and fruits tossed in. Being an actual kitchen, she did find a pantry with eggs of all things. ”Anyone want to make these eggs while I work on stew?”
Things are starting to settle down, of course, that also means back to job hunting. Blech.
After making sure the purification ritual is going well, and that someone is on guard, Krishka silently disappears back to bed, stepping around the dead mimic with a disgusted look.
”The trogs arr our enemies in this, but they are still people. Taking prisoners is probably better in the long run to reduce hatred and perhaps make it easier to get a ceasefire of hostilities later.”
I’m making a sudden move across states. So posting has been disrupted and will be for a few days more. On the bright side, once I should get more time for posting in general once this is all done.
Krishka rolls out of the bed onto her feet, thankful that she neither used the blanket nor got undressed, and rushed towards the kitchen. Drawing her blade, the giant rat got dealt with before she could even swing. She grunted and continued onwards.
initiative: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Krishka looked rather displeased with her own statement ”Well, it makes sense to stay together and to stay here. I imagine someone will be unhappy with whatever you did to whoever that guy was. We should bar the doors and windows. If they come, they’ll probably come with friends, or at least go away and return with friends.”
If there was a bed, she absolutely claims it.
Krishka helps the search, leaving her detect poison spell active, in case it might alert her to a poison trap or hidden enemy. She starts at the top and works her way down. If nothing is found, she will go through everywhere again but with detect magic.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
I see. I thought we had more, but I must be confusing games.
Krishka moved slowly up the stairs, only to have a couple familiar faces step out of a room and greet her like nothing happened. Krishka nods in greeting, and stops worrying about walking quietly. She peeks into the room the other girls just exited, ”Find anything of interest?”
Are we down to just four players?
Krishka enters from outside and finds a dead priest in the main room. She spends a moment to examine him before moving on, noting curiously the smashed vase and wondering if someone missed a swing or if something was hidden inside.
She cautiously makes her way upstairs once she hears a shout from above. Sounded like a dwarf complaining about an insult. She casts detect poison on her way up the stairs.

I figure the best re entry for Krishka into the story is that she broke off shortly to send a message back home as an update and the others left without her, and now she has finally caught up to them.
Unless you have a different plan GM?
Think I’m done.
And Krishka implemented her new spellcasting slots scheme, and they work!
Informational note, my status posting (still need to get better at posting it every combat round) has spells in brackets and parentheses. Brackets are bard spells that don’t change, and parentheses are arcanist spells that I can change, and using Quick Study even. :)
Like so,

Awesome. I’ll get to leveling her up, and read up on the current situation.
Krishka is ready to come back!
But I can really only check in Thursday through Sunday. That may or may not be a problem for you guys.
So, shall Krishka enter the story once more?
”First, innocent until proven guilty. We can’t assume the innkeep is a cultist on word alone, so breaking into his room is not yet justified. Second, being evil doesn’t make someone guilty either. Both make him worth investigating, but not treating as a criminal.”
”Or just stay at the inn and catch those who try to kidnap us.” Krishka says with a big orcish grin.
Krishka also will not be very tolerant of lots of lying. Small twists here there are okay, but in general not. Except in combat, deception in a fair fight is still fair.
Krishka face palms with a groan, and decides to keep her name out of things for now, standing back and watching the others to see how they handle themselves.
I’ve played through toee a fee times, but that was ddo, so on one hand I am not really excited to do it again, but one the other, it would be interesting to see how it differs.
Krishka moves to take on the archer, charging if she can do so without aoo.
”Face me right, lizard!” Krishka yells at the trog.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 181d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Krishka moves forward and aids another for AC for whichever of the two ahead of her seems more likely to be attacked next.
Aid another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Access denied on that map.
Any trogs headed my way? Do they respond at all to my challenge?

Guess I need to find a picture. No one seemed to notice me stopping right out in the open yelling. :)
Krishka looks to the barkeep for their input. She isn’t one to jump to conclusions.
Assuming the barkeep confirms, Krishka will sigh as she walks out the front drawing her blade.
She lets the others get into hiding before calling out to the trogs, ”Oi! You are unwelcome here. You must leave now.”
So fast I’m missing stuff.
”Patience! Running to the mayor with demands will only cause problems and earn his ire. Instead we should approach as offering our help to investigate.” Krishka says, trying to calm everyone down. Then she pays the tab and heads for the mayor.
