Man it seems like I have a never ending supply of freaking aliases

FW we miss ya bro!

LOL I liked this character. Ahh, to failed PbPs...

Man I was having so much fun before the world ended ...

Korgoth marches along, enjoying the walk to the sinkholes and the sheer pleasure of being off with his friends on an adventure. He swings his arms jauntily and pitches rocks at the rabbits and squirrels that watch their progress.

I am having big Stand By Me flashbacks

1d20=7

There you go

Korgoth smiles at Taya

"This time you'll have your boon companions at your back, Taya, and we can all face the sinkholes together as a team."

Korgoth googles at Daetha's generosity

"I can't take your family's coins, you must keep them. If I need a loan I will come to you, promise."

Korgoth tucks away the rope in his gear along with whatever items he's asked to carry

Whatever you guys want me to take I'll toss on my sheet.

"I think we should get going before we get caught." He whispers

Korgoth grabs whatever Taya points out

"Don't worry Taya we will get the slugs and then come back quick as a wink."

Korgoth busies himself collecting rope for the expedition

"Maybe old Movuum if you don't think she will try to stop us or tell."

Korgoth looks up from his excavated hole

"Well if that's where the slugs are, let's go!"

Actually they dropped the pearl component Taya, but there is wine involved IIRC

Korgoth continues to dig deeper into the garden, more out of trying to do something than actually looking hard. He racks his brains for anything that could be nicknamed 'slug'

Korgoth tries digging deeper into the garden.

"Maybe it isn't really slugs we look for. Is there any plant you can think of that people nickname 'slug' Taya?

Korgoth decides to help Taya

"I am not a lot of help today. Maybe I'll be a better slug hunter."

Korgoth looks about trying to keep an eye out to see if the owlbear is nearby.

Roll for previous INT check I missed:

Int check: 1d20=1

Korgoth is feeling fairly dumb today.

Korgoth tenses when he hears Stagyar's approach, but relaxes when he realizes it'd not the owlbear come back. He stays quiet, watching Stagyar with a certain mix of envy and admiration.

"Don't worry Stagyar, we'll be out of here in a jiffy." Korgoth says in a light tone, trying very hard to act cool and nonchalant.

1d20=17

Korgoth notes the owlbear's leavings grimly and attempts to look about for any other evidence.

Spot: 1d20-1=6, Listen: 1d20-1=9

Der Der Der

Korgoth puts a comforting hand on Daetha's shoulder

"If it's too hard you can stay outside, and I'll take a quick look around for you."

Korgoth smiles at Taya

"Sure! Anything to help. I owe you big for your help with Jeridd, and you can count on me."

Posting will be spotty until weds aft. DMPC me if it assists gameflow.

Korgoth finds Taya after the service.

"Taya I am so sorry to hear about Nagy. Is there anything I can do?"

Korgoth hears about Nagy's illness. He is saddened, remembering the plucky boy who helped out during the terrible fight at the Halfling's barn. He attempts to find Taya to see if there is anything he can do to assit her or her family.

Trying to keep current. Long day. Will try and post more tomorrow

Sounds good ...FRONT! BACK! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Korgoth is pretty much there. need to put on the alias that the martial weapon rapier is (STR), Exercise regimen is (Con) and Weapon Finesse is (Dex). You will get +2 to try and do any weapon finesse attempt since you have been practicing this a while.

Also the swordmaster will provide you with a rapier and belt of your own.

Also there is a couple of semi-decent outfits. Cast offs from the nobleman's son. Just so you don't make the home look untidy.

Cheers

Updated.

Sounds good ...FRONT! BACK! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Hmm what's a good CON to do you think?

I listed three things I'd like Korgoth to concentrate for training in the next 2 years. Please advise if they are right :)

FW:

Spoiler:
Razzafrazzing stoopid innkeeping son of a syphilitic squid. What about Jeridd's dagger Korgoth scooped up?

OK, I updated a bit. FW, as I am completely hopeless with statting could you take a moment to make sure I got it all down correctly?

Also, I didn't put Feisam's death in my backstory, is it a fait accompli?

Korgoth, the smooth talker, gets Diplomacy 1 free rank.
Tumble and Balance he needs to work on. Alot.

The Future's Bright

Patrick, Korgoth is evolving well. Just a suggestion, but one of the newly arrived nobles has a young son that needs a sparring partner. Korgoth is of a similar age and word gets around that he has a bit of skill.

Perhaps he could have some good luck for a change. He would be employed as a stable hand and sparring partner.

The noble would probably be from Greyhawk City and regard his son highly, so don't stab him too much. That would give the boy access to a sword master and decent training.

What do you think?

Cheers

I think this is wonderful. I'm sorry I haven't refixed everything, it's on my list, but as you know that new PbP is heating up a bit. I have tomorrow off and it will be done by end of evening. What is the noble's son name? If Feisam dies do I get the drak o' fury, or am I left with just Jeridd's dagger? Speaking of which, is that dagger any good or is it a 'shiv' type of blade?

Korgoth returns to the drudgery of the stables. He feels a bit better about people now that he has seen that some folks can stand with him rather than assuming he is evil. He still practices with Feisam for the nonce :(. He spends a lot of time alone practicing dexterity skills, since they have proven helpful in avoiding the bullies. He notices that the townsfolk seem to be more frightened of him as he grows, and he often plays off this by given particularly obnoxious people the 'evil eye'.

Korgoth will attempt to maintain ties of friendship with the others if it is possible. Asfer he allows to drift away, unsure if he wants her hanging around and getting hurt by being his friend.

Will also be updating Korgoth this weekend as time permits. The garden is starting to call me now that the first touch of Fall weather has arrived.

Skill stuff:

1d20+1=6, 1d20=20, 1d20+1=9

Diplomacy (CHA): 20
Tumble (DEX): 6
Balance (DEX): 9

Is this correct FW? I am trying to get a feel to making Korgorh an old-skool Errol Flynn swashbuckler.

Over the next four days I am going to produce a list of rumours and other general happeninge that occur during the two years. One or two of them will impact the campaign area.

Once you have incorporated the events into your alias then everyone can roll the stat rolls for the end of training. That is three each. That is an additional 1d4+1 roll.

STR: 1d4+1=2, DEX: 1d4+1=4, CHA: 1d4+1=2

"I am Orick!" the little wanna be priest exclaims

"You are?" asks the sick, sick Dryad, "you're even more handsome than I remember."

"Wait . . . what?" Orick manages to sputter.

" Glomp!"

"Aaaaaaaaaghhh!"

...
Orick stumbles back to town several weeks later clutching his new wand.

O sweet mother of macrame I just ended up howling at 5am to the thought of poor Orick and the pedo Dryad.

"Hey little boy, would you like a magic item?"

Is he going to flinch every time he passes a tree from now on?

Your mentor probably had cyrhosis of the liver (or some other spelling).

In my mind Asfer is still a little girl but your intimidate shows you are growing up fast. What do you think?

Poor Feisam, the sauce will always get you in the end. I think of Asfer as a little girl, but as these characters progress in age I was anticipating you crafting her into Korgoth's love interest (either long-term or tragic) She's already shown her chops as a convincing hostage, and Superman always needs Lois Lane to rescue! ;)

As for intimidate, I think the roll works well with Korgoth. I'm sure as he grows older the village will still think of him as 'Korgoth's Grandson' and treat him as if he has dark powers. He also just gave a big bully and his minions a good whallop (with the assistance of his new friends) so kids in his peer group might well become wary of him.

OK FYI my posting will be spotty Mon until Weds aft. This will be normal for most of the Fall.

Rolls 13 and 9 ( 1 good 1 bad)

BAD: 6 Mentor dies naturally
GOOD: 13 My glare is like death to others (GRR!)

Korgoth looks at the others and smiles

"Thank you all for helping me, if it hadn't been for you I don't know what would have happened."

Korgoth looks at the crumpled form of Jeridd and his brother.

"I don't think we need to tie him up. Hopefully he's learned his lesson, but if he hasn't I'll be happy to teach him some more."

Korgoth looks at the other bullies

"That goes for any other smart-alecks as well."

Korgoth breathes out, relieved that it is over. He retreives Jeridd's dagger and secretes it in his clothes. He then moves over to Asfer.

"Are you OK Asfer? Did he hurt you?"

Korgoth looks at everyone.

"Is everyone OK?"

Hmm IC still down ...

Home roll: Atk: 1D20-1=19 WooHoo! Dam 1d3-1=2 Confirm crit: 1d20-1=10

Korgoth swings at Jeridd again with the branch, trying to lay him out

"This for bullies, slime sucker!" He yells as he swings

Seeing the dagger fall from Asfer's neck, Korgoth rushes towards Jeridd.

"Asfer ..run!" Korgoth yells

I am going to rush him and try to hit him. I don't trust the dagger, and I don't want to kill him. I will clout him with the branch though, as a sap (non-lethal).

IC is currently down. I am home rolling, but feel free to roll yourself if you want a recordable outcome.

Non-lethal punch: 1d20-1=15/ dam 1d3-1=1 (I'm not sure what the branch brings to the table)

Korgoth swings his branch at Jeridd, hoping to knock him out.

Jerrid Kinslarn wrote:

"Come here or she gets a big smile! It's you I want."

I'll keep us in rounds in case the others decide to do something. But Korgoth can double move down from the loft to the central space next to Darnis' body.

...

Korgoth descends to the central space

Taking that double move, trying to stay alert for treachery.

"I don't know what you have against me Jeridd, but you have caused enough problems. Unhand Asfer and I'll meet you one-on-one ... that is unless you are too much of a coward to fight me that way."

Korgoth brandishes his stick

"If you insist we can fight stick to dagger, but that way I will hurt you. I prefer fists if you want to settle something. Darnis is already hurt, let's not let this thing get any worse."

Ok I am still up in the loft correct?

Korgoth shows himself to the bully Jeridd.

"Jeridd you piece of scum! You want me? Fight me like a man instead of torturing young girls you lily-livered puke!"

If Jeridd comes for me I'll wait for him, otherwise I will ready myself to descend the ladder at top speed.

No worries, my schedule precludes posting a lot Mondays and Tuesdays. If you ever need to DMPC me feel free.

Korgoth prepares to join the others at their position.

Ouch

Korgoth, wrapped up in trying to figure out how to use the branch as a weapon fails to see the signal.

Do I hear the gasp from Darnis? As soon as I know things are progressing I wave the ribbon and go to aid the others

Climb CHK: 1d20-1=10

Korgoth just manages to scramble up

Climb Chk for +2 assist:1d20-1=7

Korgoth attempts to aid Nagy, but can't quite seem to get his hands under his feet correctly.

Korgoth follows Taya and Nagy, assisting them if possible

I don't know if there is anything I can do to aid them, but I will help Taya get up with a boost if I can

Listen: 1d20-1=13

Korgoth flushes with anger.

"Those bast@rds!" He hisses

Korgoth begins to head for the front doors of the barn, stick at the ready.

Sorry 'bout the Perception thing, new habits die hard

Korgoth looks at Taya

"We can try."
