Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Acid Dart 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 - 1 = 4 vs. Touch AC...swish
I'm including the Hound's action now, as it will go at Khedon's old initiative before disappearing. If Kayluss has engaged the 'Lady' in melee, Khedon will order the Hound to "Flank" in Celestial Hound Bite 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 - possibly +2 from Flank
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon ignores the curses for the prattle they are.
Meanwhile, a Celestial Hound appears behing the 'Lady' AA7 and attacks, Smiting Evil
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon will stand, leaning on his staff, and prod through any debris in the pit while waiting for things to resolve above. If it were a very simple climb, I'd try it, but for a more difficult climb it doesn't pass my giggle test either to attempt to get out unaided
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon moves to the edge of the darkness, casting protective enchantments. Casting Mage Armor on self, then moving from D4 to F2. Unfortunately, there is little effective I can do until I have move effective targetting info, so if a Perception Check is still an option, Khedon is again trying to get general placement. Khedon does not need exact placement any *intersection* (4 possible squares) will do. He's using sound only for White Eyes, and both Sound and Sight for the goblin archer (noting the direction of origin for the next arrow) Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
"They can see and we can't," thinks Khedon, "perhaps we can use it to our advantage...but first, a better position" Khedon moves to stand beside Wadi, listening to get a feel where the Goblins are.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6...and in case I need another for the goblin archer...Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Khedon watches the mites being taken away with narrowed eyes, but eventually shrugs and continues on with other business, in this case, cleaning. Using regular applications of Prestidigitation, Khedon will make sure there is absolutely no trace of the fungus in the cave outside of the sample pouches.
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
"Torvic, it has not been days since the scrolls and pearl were stolen, it has been weeks. The fungus that covered the fountain is likely the same we found in your wound; it causes hallucinations...I expect you have been wandering confused for some time." Khedon turns to the group, "We don't know what may have occurred in during that time. It's possible that these," he points to the mites, "were provoked in some way."
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
"If whoever is gathering firewood can gather some extra, I think it would be a good idea to block the back of the cave as well. I'm going to see what I can do about the fungus." Khedon thinks for moment, then moves each of the mites so they can watch what he is doing. If necessary, he'll give each a light slap to get their attention. He'll point his fingers to his eyes, then to the Dwarf. As soon as he has the mites' attention, Khedon casts Prestidigitation and cleans the dwarf, making sure to separate some of the fungus into a small pile rather than just make it disappear. He'll continue until he is sure that all of the fungus has been cleaned off. He tilts his head towards Sekhemere, "There's your sample. Is it possible to make a counter to its effects?" Khedon turns back to the mites and makes sure he has their attention, then points at the dwarf and at each mite, "I know you can't understand me, but I mean you no harm. Do not resist." Khedon will then cast Prestidigitation on each of the mites, thoroughly cleaning off the fungus.
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
"I can't understand the little savages. Perhaps they have knowledge of another language...". Khedon then utters a short phrase in 3 different languages, the intonations running from harsh and unpleasant to light and melodic. Repeating "Do You Understand Me?" in Infernal, Aklo and Celestial. The last is a longshot, better than nothing
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
"I have no rope either. However," Khedon pulls his winter blanket from his pack and tosses it to the ground near one of the sleeping blue men, "feel free to cut that into strips and bind them with it." Khedon has no healing skills, but will look at the dwarf's head wound with an eye as to whether it might be ritualistic or religious rather than medical in nature.
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
The labrador once again lunges at the ant, then returns to the upper realms. Khedon, not wanting to take another risky shot, readies his quarterstaff and moves forward to support Kayluss. Celestial Dog attacks, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 (1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 damage if it hits)
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
A small but fierce labrador appears next to the ant opposite Kayluss (F13) and attacks
Meanwhile, Khedon conjures an Acid Dart, shooting it at the ant.

Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon moves forward as well and begins casting, sparing a quick glance towards Alie,"Are we sure they aren't part of his team? It's difficult to tell if they are prodding the ant or fighting it" Casting Details: Khedon is casting Summon Monster I. If the parameters have to be set now, he is summoning an Augmented Celestial Dog in the space just south of the Ant and west of a Blue Man, so that it is in the best position to flank for Kayluss. Otherwise I'll set the parameters at the end of the casting time.
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Perception:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 Khedon tilts his head, nodding at Kayluss' words, "I think the time for stealth is past, and now is the time for action." He mutters unintelligibly, passing his hands over his body.
ithuriel wrote: Khedon: Early in, Khedon must have realized that he could apply some minor continuous magic (prestidigitation) as a targeted warming device. It had occurred to me, and I would have done so in a F2F game, but I wasn't sure if it would be considered too cheesy :) Khedon, will definitely make sure that clothes are all clean and dry at the end of the day, and will be willing to add heat as required.
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Briefly, Khedon regretted not binding his power into a hawk familiar; a scout would be useful right now. "So, it seems the pearl is not enchanted, but that its glow is part of its origins in Orv. As a key, unless the lock itself is enchanted, I presume there must be something unique in its shape and weight that will actuate the lock." "I am no jeweler, and my sight is not sharp enough to see anything but a sphere. Do any of you see anything unusual about the pearl aside from the glow?"
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon will also pick up a Cold Weather Outfit, along with a Bedroll, Winter Blanket, Trail Rations, a Scroll of Endure Elements (presuming availability) and spell inks sufficient to copy it into his spell book at a later date. He's now in Medium Load, but as Kayluss is wearing Scale, I don't think it will affect our travel speed. Underslept, Khedon will mumble some sort of morning greeting before heading out the door to pick up supplies. When he returns, he is somewhat weighed down, but in a significantly better mood. "And so the mountains await. Shall we proceed?" As soon a it is convenient on the road (anytime after Riverford), Khedon will use Detect Magic on the Pearl and see if he can determine its properties. Spellcraft:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Khedon continued to read one of the histories,"Agreed. Not only long, but cold. We'll need supplies and cold-weather gear." While there was obviously some fatigue, it was equally obvious that sleep was not on his immediate agenda. Before becoming completely absorbed, Khedon looked about the room, pausing at each face, as if imprinting the features, "Wadi, Alie, Kayluss, Sekhmere. Are we missing anyone?" I'm presuming this occurs before the late-night hijinks :)
Male Human Wizard 1 (Conjuror - Bonded Ring)
Frowning, Khedon looks at the scroll, "Hmp. Not a language I am familiar with. I don't believe that I can be much use regarding the scroll itself, unless...Captain, is there by chance a translation?" Khedon will assist in research as best he can. If there is a translation available, I expect he can be of significantly more use...

80 more gold, W00t! So, some questions. I'm a little fuzzy on what can be purchased at startup. One part of the guide states that no magic items are available at startup, but another part lists scrolls (low level ones) as always available. Is this clarified anywhere? If scrolls are available, can they be purchased and inscribed into a spellbook before start of play at the appropriate cost? Finally, as equipment in the Core Rulebook is available, does this include copy access to other spells (and then the copying costs themselves? I would presume not, but I want to make sure I'm not missing something. Haveing a packed full spellbook (or perhaps a backup spellbook) are both of interest to me. |
