Khalib somehow fails to grasp the finest points of the art of flying and ventures further in a random direction...

Khalib rises to the skies, hopeful that this flying experience will prove less painful than the last one. He attempts to follow Belinda for now.

Khalib hastens to pick up the pace and catch up with his companions. He seems to be very much out of breath. "Sorry for my dragging my feet. So much to study here, so much to record for the Grand Lodge. I'm ready."

You guessed perfectly well, Khalib is a peaceful scholar indeed!

Gazing at the magnificent city and architectural wonder that is Port Eclipse, Khalib can't help but fall into a daze. When he finally snaps out of it: "Amazing! By Nethys, this city is impressive! Let's ask around to find out if we can pick up clues on Jamila's whereabouts."

Khalib then wanders around Port Eclipse, trying to get answers.

Khalib grunts as he beholds his friends being attacked by the strange wyrds. Once more he brandishes his wand and blesses his companions.

During the whole flight, Khalib remains on deck, excited and busy as a bee experimenting and watching his surroundings. Of course he takes extensive notes.

Khalib seems pleased, beaming a smile. "I look forward to seeing the matter through with Jamila, and get a chance to catch up with her, possibly save her from harm. Allow me to ask my contacts here in Armun Kelisk."

Khalid darts for one of the carpets, unfolds it, and flies upwards towards the sylph, morningstar in hand.

Didn't we have a magic carpet? Do we still have it? If so, Khalib will search the clouds. If not, the first floor.

Khalib glances around, seaching for clues.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

"I believe the imbalance is already there, as the evil elemental lords roam free whereas the good ones are imprisoned. Unless you can convince us otherwise?" ponders the scholar.

"You'll find us to be quite the resilient type. You may just as well give up and return to your masters now." he taunts as his morningstar is aimed once more at the guard's skull, this time way more precisely.

Khalib treads towards the red suli threateningly and smashes his head with his morningstar... or at least tries to.

Khalib raises his wand and casts bless upon his companions. "May Nethys guide your hand, seekers of knowledge!"

He then draws his morningstar and stands ready to engage one of the opponents.

"I'm unable to read it sadly, but all the more eager to discover its contents. I'll check for magical auras while Nemis reads it."

Casting detect magic and snooping around.

The scholar, silent until now, steps up and lends his expertise. "I'm certain the green sign is related to the Earth element. It reads "Spark the Earth". Most interesting... let's not forget the Concordance of the elements believes in balance and links between elements - there seem to be a chain here. My guess would be to Wet the Sky - understand to link water and air - then bring air - blow for example - on fire, then Spark the Earth, and finally dilute earth in water. How does it sound?"

Khalib rushes to Nemis's aid, tapping her with his wand.

Khalib doesn't appear to be too surprised by this couple of goons trying to drive them off Armun Kelisk. With a sigh, he draws his wand and bestows a blessing to his companions.

Khalib arrives at the gathering with princely attire: a long embroidered djellabah covers his body, with numerous gems adorning his fingers. His eyes, circled with kohl, appear to be highly expressive, yet with a hint of nobility about them.

It is only natural for him to meet with the gnome and share his views on the history of ancient civilization. "My my, a fellow scholar! I've been told you are rather versed in the art of ancient knowledge."

After spending some time befriending the archaeologist, he whispers to her ear on the tone of a confidence. "Tell me, have you heard of the Concordance? I've heard about them and their impressive stature here in Armun Kelisk. Any chance you could tell me more about them?"

A small clarification here: I've just picked the Misfortune revelation.

Misfortune (Ex): At 1st level, as an immediate action, you can force a creature within 30 feet to reroll any one d20 roll that it has just made before the results of the roll are revealed. The creature must take the result of the reroll, even if it's worse than the original roll. Once a creature has suffered from your misfortune, it cannot be the target of this revelation again for 1 day.

To simplify matters and avoid retcons, I'll specify now when I'll use it:

1) When a bad guy within range (30 feet) rolls a threat (nat 20), I'll use Misfortune to have him reroll that.

2) When one of us (myself included) rolls a Nat 1 on a saving throw, I'll use it. Bad rolls above one are up to the player's choice (i.e. if he deems it too low and wants to use his Misfortune for the day, I'll have him reroll).

Does it sound fair?

Khalib, bolstered by his newly found spirits, steps up and smacks the blue-hued flame elemental with his morningstar. "The pen is more powerful than the sword, but sometimes a pen can't help. Have at thee!"

Khalib seems more interested in his scholarly work, gathering watery samples with his emptied waterskin, earth with his pot, and even plays with fire by lighting one of his candles with it.

Khalib sighs in relief as the oread falls in battle. He first elects to heal himself, then turns his attention to the statues all around the room. "Most interesting. Did you know that statues of the elemental lords played a key role in the binding magic of the Osirian wizards? Tahonikepsu would surely like if we brought back extensive notes or even samples of these elemental manifestations. If you don't mind I'll do that while we wait for the oread's body to come down."

Khalib, if enough time is given, will experiment on the statues and their elemental manifestations, then take some notes for his de facto leader. If allowed, he'll also take samples.

Khalib gets closer and makes sur he can curse the oread the moment he comes into range.

Khalib coughs in pain, doubling over, then draws a wand with a flick of the wrist and blesses his companions. "May Nethys watch over you, Pathfinders!"

Bless: +1 morale bonus to attack rolls and saving throws against fear.

I'll take the 5 damage, I think that's fair. I'll also use my wand to heal before our next encounter.

Khalib ponders the situation, and nods at Toctep's words. "I fully agree with you. We shouldn't recklessly head into combat if we can avoid it."

He's about to step up towards the mephits and attempt to calm the situation down when Nemis initiates the hostilities. Khalib sighs, then draws his morningstar.
