Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela looks struggles against Morbury as the holy magic held in hand dissipates into him with a burning sizzle. She looks shocked for a moment before glancing at the rest of her comrades with a wild confused look in her eye darting around the room erratically before settling on the ghost in front of her with a cold stare.
"Te sordida haereticus, posito, te Tshamek canis remissionis me!..........Denique Fine nos si est aditusque pacifice perdere hoc abominatio erit moram mea manu in corrigere eam scriptor viam ad interitum enim nunc ...." she gibbers out a tone of angry resignation in her voice as she struggles to free herself.
Celestial Translation:
You filthy heritic, you Tshamek (Shoanti insult for outsider) dog release me!....... Fine Fine let us see if there is an avenue to peacefully destroy this abomination I shall delay my hand in correcting it's path to the afterlife for now....
Mechanics:
CLW accidentally discharging into Morbury (via stuff on touch spells):* -Postive Energy Damage:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7(DC 14 will save for half rounded down)
Struggling to free herself: (Unless Morbury willingly ends the grapple) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6(Vs. CMD of 15)
*- Asked Javell in PM if he wanted Morbury to grapple before or after she cast the spell. He indicated he'd find it interesting if Morbury got inadvertently zapped with the touch spell to concretely raise questions about Morbury's linage for later RP purposes. I have no preference so I went with his choice on it. I'm not intentionally beating up on him or anything.
Kayela will continue to struggle against being held untill freed. After which she calms herself and eyes both Morbury and the ghost suspiciously and begins chanting her prayers periodically to keep her magical wards in place her fist still clenched ready to sucker punch the ghost should it do anything suspicious.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Knowledge Roll (Identify Creature):
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
*Is it safe to assume that a 22 reveals it to be undead? If it's a ghost would 22 would it reveal that it's likely incorporeal? If it's a haunt does she know anything about it? Any pertinent info in any case?
Kayela looks shocked at the sudden appearance of a ghost. She responds with an icy tone with aggressive body language "Nah we do not be guards, but rather we are here to banish the spirits and end the hauntings that linger in this foul blight of a prison" and with that she tosses her morningstar away and begins casting a spell in Celestial notably in contrast to her usual shoanti prayers. Casting CLW;
"Maiores ego vocant in potentia ad Benedicite vivos et damnaret naturam..."
Celestial Translation:
..."Ancestors I call upon the power to bless the living and damn the unnatural..."
At any point it might become relatively apparent to her friends Kay is about to attack this ghost. Anyone may intervene at any point if they wish and Galahad is cool with it. DC 12 Diplo check (for celestial speakers) and/or a CMB 16 to grapple should stop her, otherwise...
Kayela's hand glows white with divine power and she lunges towards the ghost fist raised high in an attempt to sucker punch the aberration with divine magic.
Mechanics:
If she's not stopped and we need initiative become combat starts: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13 (Take the 13)
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Actions:
-Free: Talk
-Free: Toss morningstar aside.
-Standard: Cast CLW.
-Move: Rush towards the ghost.
-Free: Deliever free touch attack against ghost; considered armed.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela ceases smashing the branding irons arches an eyebrow at Hasmir's outburst before nodding sagely to Morbury. She picks up a branding iron and drops it at Hasmir's feet and says "Here, ah find dis may help quell your frustration and distract from nagging question" as she hands Hasmir her Morningstar and motions to the branding iron at his feat. "A little bit ah therapy, goes ah long way"
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Arigoder Senari wrote:
Arigoder nods as Dryden explains, "Will it happen again?
Dryden Vauxmar wrote:
And yes, this one will happen again, I just do not know how long until it re sets."
Kayela glances at Dryden and Ari. "Dar is a very elegant solution tah dis I fear yah may be overlooking...." and with that she drops her shield grabs one of the branding irons and places at her feet and brings her morningstar down upon it with a loud CLANK and continues to do so till the iron brand is broken into various pieces.
Not sure if this will work, but it shouldn't take more than a few minuets of work and we are team brawn after all. ;)
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Earlier...
Kayela looks around the room for anything she may have missed (Take 20 on perception for searching.), Eying Hasmir, "If you ever get ah strange feeling like dat again don hesitate ta mention it." as she straps her shield to her arm.
She takes a casual glance at the broken manacles before picking up a few and stowing a few of them away in her backpack.
Currently...
Kayela frowns upon entering the room shield readied and turns to Ari "Ah bet ya 2 silver shields dose branding irons spring ta life an attack us just like dah wretched manacles." she says half joking half deadly serious.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Round 4:
Kayela takes pause letting Arigoder take the first blow on their new opponent. Hoping to take the finishing blow herself....
If his axe drops the manacle.. (Otherwise just standard attack).
She rushes off to the next manacle morningstar raised wildly above her head closing in on finishing the fight and abandoning any pretense of defense or caution she once had and attempts to smash it into pieces hoping to end the fight quickly.
Mechanics:
Is it fair to assume flanking and pick up one of the other characters aid another to add to my attack? If there's 10ft and room to charge I'll also pick that up, but leave it out of my roll. If there's room to do it she will do it, though for better or worse.
-Delay turn till after Ari.
-Move Action: (Either charge or pick up flanking or both)
-Standard action: Attack Manacle [not defensively] w/ guidance.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Round 3
Kayela moves to the manacles nearest her and Arigoder and raises her morningstar above her head and smashes it into the cold hard iron of the manacles the ringing of steel against iron echoing throughout the stone chamber.
Mechanics:
-Move action: Move & set up Flanking for Ari -Standard Action: Attack Manacle [defensively]; Morningstar:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22for1d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Round 2:
In the midst of the strange fight pale holy magic radiating a dim pale light along Kayela's tattoos. Noticing the the strength Arigoder's blow and remembering how hard he can punch evidenced by the dull ace that still lingers from his blows the previous night she tosses her shield to the side and it flies off whisked away slamming into a nearby wall.
Kayela stiffly speaks in celestial, "Haec catena te spiritus hic fractus manu mea et scire pacem solvebantur a tormentum hic." as she spins her morningstar in both hands and slams it into the mancles Arigoder just hit. She rests into a defensive posture eyeing the entangling steel with caution.
Celestial Translation:
"These chains that bind you spirits here shall be broken by my hand and you shall know peace unshackled from your unfortunate torment within these walls."
Mechanics:
-Move Action: Drop shield [-1AC] (Flies 10ft away due to haunted curse) -Free Action: to shift morningstar to two handed. -Standard Action: Attack (Fight Defensively: +2 AC -4 attack).
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela will begins chanting in celestial and a pale light of divine magic washes over her. "Maiorum dare me virtus ad...." after calling upon the divine magics she rushes to get a better position on one of her new found enemies.
@Hasmir: Couldn't do it this round due to being FF till I acted, but if you'd like a reroll during round 2 to escape the grapple feel free to take it if you roll low. Unless I use it before initiative gets back up to you.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela looks at Morbury strangely "Perhaps dah spirits ah play'n ah trick on ya mind" she then grins slyly "Or perhaps this place is getting to ya an' ya mind is play'n tricks on you."
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela nods to Arigoder "I'll make use of tah flasks I have taken, I had hoped tah fill mah aspergillum with tah holy water, feel free tah take wat you please and if anyone needs ah flask I shall part wit one gladly."
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Anyone feel free to take hold of the rest of the gear. The wand and scroll only really useable for dryden/kay/morbury.
Kayela picks up 2 flasks of holy water before tossing the scroll and wand in Drydens direction. "Remnants left here bah your faithful na' doubt, it only fitting fah you tah hold." she mentions off offhandedly after she wipes the spiders bloody goo off her morningstar with the edges of her skirt.
She'll continue her chanting and praying calling upon spirits and lesser magics to ward her before before leaving the chapel and cautiously approaching the next room shield and morningstar raised.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Round 2:
Kayela's shield still raised she bangs her morningstar against it trying to garner the attention of the mindless spiders, her posture still defensive as she cries out..."Ego sum non virgo misit hic ad has aranearum" just before her Morningstar comes crashing down on the nearest spider.
Celestial Translation:
I am not a maid servant here to squish spiders.
Mechanics:
She'll stay where she is (E,3) and attack either S1 or S6 which ever has taken any damage/wounds by her turn. If neither has taken any damage and S3 has, if it's possible she'll 5-foot step to E4 and apply her attack to S3. Otherwise, just flip a coin on either S1/S6.
She'll opt to continue fighting defensively hoping to attract their attention to her rather than her allies. (-4 to hit, +2 to AC).
Attack on either S1, S6, or S3 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 5 - 4 + 1 = 20 Damage on either S1, S6, or S3 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9
Ready, Misfortune on the first spider to roll high as always.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Not sure I like that roll Dryden. Round 1 Misfortune reroll: Dryden ;)
Attack vs S5 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 Damage if needed vs S5 (Unless Dryden want's to roll it) 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
The momentum of his ill fated swing throws Dryden off balance as his frown deepens the momentum and a strange wind guides his mace directly into his target.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
As if on cue without any understanding of what Morbury just said Kayela steps forwards in a defensive stance Morningstar raised and says "Aranearum? Aranearum? Ego venit hic ad pugnam impia abominationes non aranearum! Sordida pestes!" as her weapon comes down with a hard splat and echoing thump of steel connecting with the stone floor.
Celestial translation:
Spiders? Spiders? I came here to fight unholy abominations not spiders! Filthy pests!
Mechanics:
Actions: (5-foot step to E3, Fight Defensively -4 to hit +2 to AC, Attack S2)
@Galah: Misfortune the first spider that rolls high as always. If someone moves to E3 put her at E4 instead. If something kills S2 apply attack to S3 instead.
Adding to Dryden's astute assessment of the place as combat begins "Dis place seems safe enough tah me..... Except fah ya know dah horrible monstrous bugs"(Unless she's forced to speak celestial in which case it's just gibberish)
"...at least dere not ghost....bugs" Kayela thinks to herself for a brief moment.
Knowledge Religion (Identify creature) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15(In case they are ghost bugs)
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Kayela looks around half-hazardly upon entering the room her skin flinches at the sight of the cobwebbs. Between her idle shoanti chanting she says to Dryden "Does it not fill your heart wit sorrow tah see such ah holy place o worship forgotten an in such ill desecrated wit dese filthy webs?"
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Can we simply boil down perception checks for mundane search stuff down to everyone takes a 20 unless time is a factor (i.e. spell duration/combat)?
Since Morbury's Detect evil can pass through doors will he be doing so before opening most doors or would that be OOC for him? Knowing there's multiple strong auras of evil behind a door would be helpful for Kayela at least as she'll toss up a protection from evil, likewise for Akydidi and mage armor.
Kayela nods at Hasmirs suggestion and readies herself as she follows Morbury into the room.
I'm partial to checking the two inner rooms first, Rectangle then triangle. Then simply checking the outer rooms in a clockwise fashion south to north, then simply continuing to the eastern wing and come full circle if it's possible map wise.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela's ridged demeanor utterly shattered shattered for a moment upon Akydids jokes as she lets slip a dismissive giggle at the notion. "Ah he's pretty enough fo ah idle romp, but I dare not say I'll be taking deep ah liking! Especially if he parts me wit mah gold! Besides a pretty eyed Varisian, a bastion of dah lord of the vault, a limber elvish performer, or dah stoic hand of Pharasma to is more dahn enough lure my wandering eye."
She turns to Darcy as they walk, "I'm sure yah will hold on to dah gold for us, bot for some reason ah suspect each of our shares will be absent a few coin once it's time in your care is over young one. " she comments with a wink as they walk.
She pats Arigoder on the back "Lead the way oh bringer of civilization. In mah eyes ya earned dat privilege last night an my feet shall follow yours tah hell itself if necessary."
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela smiles at Morbury's noble talk "Ah am sure some of our very gear was borrowed without permission from dah ah hidden cache belonging tah dah church o' Pharasma perhaps fadhar Grimburrow should 'ave been told of our acquisitions, no?"
Her demeanor becomes slightly forceful "If dah people of Ravengro wished tah pick from dah bones oh dis carcass deh should've done so demselves. I will not stop ya from turning yah own share in, nor deny dat I have it if they come tah question it bot seeing as it was little miss darcy's nimble fingers dat made it possible tah recover dis bounty and mah own life put at risk by walking these halls I'll be takin mah share for my own." she sighs as if exhausted by the topic "....bot for now we have more pressing matters to attend tah we let dah little one with dah sly fingers hold on tah the coin fah now and each take a potion incase we need it while we explore dis place...we'll discuss such matters later provided we're still among the living."
When they get back to the enterance she elects to go north rather than east wanting to avoid the crumbled unstable area of the prison and work in a clockwise manner through the prison. She'll be fine with opening the doors to see where they might lead, but will prefer to avoid the less stable area of the prison that's already partially collapsed and elect to go north opening the two double doors on the right in the northern hallway to see where they lead before heading through the door on the first door on the left in the northern hallway.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
The only question is if they're fearful because he's good man and the warden or because he's mercilessly cruel and sadistic. I can't imagine his spirit would've been too happy about being burned to death nor pleased at what the prisoners likely did to him during the hours he was trapped in the dungeon before the fire.
Kayela turns to Morbury, "I dare tah think of such things as our payment of cleansing this monument of horror of it's toxic evils. If dis community has nothing tah give us for our work dhen I intend to take wat I find here as it can be put tah use in aiding me in mah future struggles against the wicked and unholy."Kayela intends to keep any loot she comes across, but rationalizes it by remembering that she'll use it to do good in the world.
Kayela nods in acknowledgment of the contrast between the warden's office and outside it, "Yes it is...interesting...dah spirits seem tah fear dis warden even after death, bot I'm not entirely sure why, nor certain dat is a good sign."
Upon discovering the privy. She exclaims "Ah just wat I was looking for!" she turns to the rest of the party and gives them a very stern look "Wait here I'll just be a moment" She will then go use the bathroom in the creepy haunted prison. because that's in no way a bad idea.
After completing her business she'll return to the party intent on returning to the entrance.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela looks around the room and seems to become more tense, "I dont trust dis feeling dah warden died painfully 'ere just as dah prisoners.....dah spirits 'ere may be attempting ta lure us into ah false sense of security."
After seeing Darcy struggle to unlock the safe Kayela will put her hand on her shoulder and pray in shoanti. Casting guidance over and over again.
@Galahad even without masterwork TT guidance should bump her skill up to a DC30, but it's nice that she can hit the DC on her own.
Kayela will take a 20 on her perception check to search the room for anything of import.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela pauses for the briefest of moments and gives Hasmir a look her eyebrow arches a puzzled look on her face. "Good tah know yah in such ah lighthearted mood Hasmir deep in dis den o unknown horrors an you're making jokes."
Kayela turns to the first door on the right and opens it quickly.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela sighs at Morbury's suggestion, "Perhaps, bot ah pray we do not merely find more hallways an doors beyond those fah with so many paths I shuddah tah think how we'll choose between dem." a hint of sarcasm in her tone.
Kayela will return to the entrance and elect to go to the first door on the left, but doesn't really care if anyone wants to play the what's behind door number 'x'
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela smirks at Morbury as she laughs off his comment "Could mere kick from mh legs free dah spirits from dah torments dat bind dem to dese unhallowed I'd be quite impressed wit myself tah say dah least"
After recognizing the haunt.
"It seems a toll is tah be paid fah venturing inta dah maw o' dis beast" she remarks as she pulls out a vial of holy water and sprinkles a few drops on her finger before flicking them at the doors in front of her.
She grins, "Shall we try again?" as she kicks open the northern doors once more before readying her shield and morningstar and muttering a few prayers to herself.
"Shall we continue forward?"
I'm up for going north, but if anyone wants to check out a different room Kayela doesn't have to take lead on this or anything. It simply fits with her personality to want to go straight up the middle. Probably doesn't matter I figure we'll be kicking ass and taking names regardless of which way we go.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
For the record I assume we don't spend a whole ton of time outside the prison doors Kayela will be moving past the entrance and was kicking down the double doors to the north on the map rather than the ones outside for clarification.
I'll amend my post otherwise if someone roles a dungoneering check and thinks the entryway could collapse around us, but otherwise Kayela won't be interested in either swimming through the pond nor climbing to a second story.
Further upon inspection of Harrowstone it doesn't have a second floor? What about a 3rd? I presume there is a basement/dungeon from the info page. Clarification would be nice.
Kayela nods understanding Morbury making a mental note to be careful if reaching a second floor. "I'm interested in facing whatever transpires head on mistar Morbury, if there's a better entrance point it out, but I don't feel like swimming nor climbing this evening"
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
As Kayela approaches the prison grounds she readies her shield and morningstar as she continuously chants in shoanti various prayers and incantations.
She's going to continuously be casting guidance, resistance, and virtue on herself every few rounds to keep them up continuously. She'll also cast light on her morningstar in absence of natural light. She gets a +1 to a roll of her choosing, +1 to her first save, and 1 temp HP.
Before entering the prison, "We should be weary dah way may have left some traps"
She continues on into the foyer before briefly stopping for a moment to look around.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
If nothing stands out to her:
She'll move to the double doors north and kick them open...revealing...
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
I assume we're skipping past our researching and our unsucessful stake out last night? So it's the morning/mid-day of day 5?
Kayela sits at the table in the lorrimor estate with a brew of coffee already made as she eats oat-meal liberally mixed with cloves, cinnamon, and sugar. She eats it ravenously as each of you awake and greet her while occasionally sharpening one of her daggers with a whetstone.
On the table is the gear that was discovered before her arrival parsed out into bundles. Her signature face-paint is redrawn, but her hands and legs seem to be covered in a coarse mixture of bone meal, mud, and white paint. A few odd looking symbols are drawn unto her clothing in with the same strange mixture. (Basic linguistics or knowledge local reveals that the symbol and mud type mixture is a war ritual)
She sighs after finishing her late breakfast, "We know now more dhan I had evar hoped about Harrowstone, Ah divided up the gear you all found at dah Pharasman chache. Let us go and take ah more hands on approch tah these matters and attempt to discover wat dah Ways interest are wit dis foul prison."
After some time she will get up to leave and journey with the rest of her companions to the prison. She remains tight lipped and closed off during the way there in contrast to her more usual odd, but vibrant vibrant behavior a spark of determination in her eyes and a rigidness befit for a solider.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
"Ah fear dah ruins oh Harrowstone won't be sprout'n any legs an wander'n off any time soon. An assuming it dost not it's not as tho I'm against sleepin till dah sung hangs a the top of the sky."(Kayela has no problem simply sleeping till noonish then going off to explore Harrowstone)
She turns to depart from this blasphemous scene, "Ah tire of staring des vile questions in dah face, I'm eager tah returning to dah labors of middling through dusty tomes."
(As before available for scene change, but will RP as it occurs)
OOC Question for Galahad:
I suppose we'll be setting up an ambush for whatever attempts to further deface the monument if it occurs this night. Kayela's stealth check in armor is horrendous is there anywhere viably close that might provide her with full cover or any way for her to simply remain close by, but not near to gain a bonus on stealth?
(i.e. go ahead and set up 100ft away from the monument behind a tree or something so she needs to spend a full round running before she can engage anything for a moderate bonus to a hide check?)
Trying to figure out if she should forgo armor or do something of that sort in order to not give away her allies positions and thus ruin any trap they might spring.
I can always simply hope for the best and use misfortune on everyone instead, though...hmmm....let me know.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela nods grimly at the speculation "Ah for one am less interested in speculating oh dah motive behind wat foul creature or person is behind dis vandalism, Ah am more interested on find'an ah way tah stop it before whatevar evil task it's trying tah bring forth is completed."
Kayela rubs her head and shades the sun from her eyes slightly hung over from the following night, "Ah do believe Hasmir mentioned interest in keeping watch ovar tis town at night tah prevent such incidents from occurring a few days ago. Nah dat we know dat dah culprit is interested in defacing dis particular monument. Perhaps we should set up a watch at night tah trap whatever is doing dis deed if dis foul act repeats itself."
Smiling oddly "I'd prefer tah stop it all tagether and simply live in happy ignorance of dah.....meaning behind it, for daht blood has tah be coming from someplace and I'm not too keen to allow it tah continue drawing from such ah inkwell."
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Oh my, a rogue who has the exact same avatar in the other PbP I'm in threw me off. Damn paizo's 1 hour edit rule! That's what I get for posting in the wee hours of the morn. *is embarrassed*
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
I assume this is still the day where later we're going to finish up the last batch of research checks? Correct? so we wouldn't have viable information on the splatter man until later tonight.
Kayela looks up and down at the new defacement casts detect magic and focus's on the memorial for the full 3 rounds needed to determine the strength of the Aura.
She'll also experiment a little and pour some water on the letters and try to scrub them away.
She will then look over the monument and read any writing that's on it (Obviously not the blood soaked letters). Taking a 20 on a search/perception check20 + 5 = 25
She'll continue to search the area for any tracks she might pick up on or anything else she might find.
Perception Check; (Take a 20 for a 25) to locate anything of interest.
If she picks up on any strange tracks of whoever might have done this.
Survival check to inspect the tracks; 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
All the while she responds, "Hmmmmm.... dis es strange" while scratching her hair nervously. Upon hearing Charon's comment "I'll take dat bet child, das ah gold crown (1 gold coin) sound right fah ya".
Looking a little shaken, "Wat plagues mah mind is.....where did das blood come from?"
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
"Oh yah mean dat one wit tah verses dat most strangely fit perfectly wit dah criminals we been learnin of?" she says most casually. "Ah thought I'd finally got dat tune out oh mah mind!" she cries as she punches Hasmir in the arm lightly before joining in the morbid sing-along with a whistle.
As she motions to the bar-keep "Ah think ya owe me another fah casting it back inta mah mind like dat, oh elvish travellar"
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
@Akydid I figured it for a whisper, but honestly if it sparks good RP I don't mind Akydid overhearing it. If you feel strange about the matter throw ups a DC 10 perception check to overhear it. I can't imagine she did a very particularly good job of keeping her voice down or anything even if she tried so feel free for whatever.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
At the start of our adventure I posted up that Kayela shares the info they discovered today with the rest of the group. So I'll assume she's told you or you overheard it.
Kayela levitates the mug of ale with Mage Hand inspecting it closely for any particularities before she snatches it out of the air and drinks it down. As she sets it down she turns to Hasmir quite replies quite seriously "Ahhhhh believe it ...was an ale."*timely-drunk-hicup*"Bot nah it's simply a mug" she jokes with a giggle.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
OOC over bitterness:
Kayela's joke at the end was a Galorion specific in cannon joke about the Shoanti being driven from their fertile homeland by Chelexian settlers, about 300 years ago long before the death of Aroden, and into the harsh environment of the Storval Plateau / Cinderlands.
She's not really bitter about anything (as it's not in any way personal), it's just a idle joke about civilization and by extension (Abadar see portfolio:'cities') overcoming the wilds of nature and culture of a primitive non-sedentary people.
@ Arigoder:
Kayala smiles as she continues walking back with Arigoder to the bar, "Should yah axe hold dah power to burn the cities of Varisia tah dah ground ah might take yah up on the offer..." she jokes "..bot fah now lets turn it's blade tah vengeance fah good Lorrimor an wiping dis world of dah dead dat cling tah dah material rhelm."
Kayela returns to the bar and buys Arigoder another drink before drinking a few more herself to... stave off the cold (of course). She'll regale random folk with strange tales, challenge a few people to arm wrestling, and loose a few coppers playing cards before the night is through.
(I'm ready for scene change, but will RP with anyone as it occurs)
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela replies to Hasmir "....pichkov...bwha?....." before stating with a measure of seriousness "A brawl it is". *timely drunk-hic-up*
Kayela smiles when Arigoder says .....when you are ready to begin... and replies "Well.... ladies first!" before throwing herself at Arigoder and initiating the fight.
Fight Stuff:
O.o damn Ari not a single roll below 10? (Kayela's Staggered by the end of 2nd attack)
At Lvl 1, Kayla's got AC of 17 without shield and HP of 13.
Final Tally of HP: 1 Non-lethal for Ari, 1 non-lethal for Kayela. Non-Lethal heals at a rate of 1 per hour so in an hour of drinking we're both tip tops.
Kayela opens up strong with a swift punch to the gut. It isn't long however before valiant Arigoder wins out his last attack sending her reeling dazed and confused in a drunken blur. She kneels to catch her breath and spits a little blood onto the dirt road before exclaiming, "Mah yah warrior spirit is strong" she grins "It's no wondar Tshmecks drove us tah storval wit tah strength ah Abadar at der backs" with a hint of bitterness in her joke.
She rights herself and dusts herself off before muttering a prayer in shoanti healing herself before she does the same to Arigoder. She slap him on the back "Ah good fight ah be lookin fah a rematch sometime oh bastion of Abadar, but for now I believe ah owe ya ah drink."
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
@Everyone:
I presume for our fight we'll be using lvl 1 stats? We've got basic rules set down, hopefully Galahad won't mind us pulling our punches and having the losing character yield before knocked unconscious simply to not complicate the matter.
@Arigoder: Since Kayela won't be using spells/misfortune during the fight would you mind evening the playing field by refraining from using TWF/Power-Attack [retty please :)]? To speed the thing up simply post up you're AC/HP and multiple attack/damage rolls. The one that would've knocked the other out in the shortest amount of time wins with the other yielding beforehand.
I'll give character a chance to object/react/place bets/join to watch for RP purposes and post up my rolls sometime tomorrow.
She smiles "Next time ah see dat lord of dah Vault I'll give em ah good shining, but you'll do fah now"
Kayela finishes off her ale before pulling out Arigoder's chair for him "Dis shall be most fun!" she exclaims in glee. She turns to the rest of the party and states "Me an Ari are gonna" *timely-drunk hicup* "Have a friendly fight fah honor!" before she grabs Arigoder by the arm and heads outside where she removes her gauntlets and tosses them to the ground.

Kayela listens closely to Arigoders tale.
For Arigoder (or Eavedroppers):
Kayela seems quite interested at the start with the promise of a glorious battle against raiders.
Her demeanor turns from interested to disgusted upon the mention of the betrayal. It further shifts to horrified at the mention of Arigoders death and resurrection.
Still speaking under her breath to Arigoder, "If yah ever find dah band of cowards yah have my hand in dah task of spillin der blood." she says with a smile. "Bot dis talk ah being brought back from dah is most shock'en! For yah be dah cutest lookin dead man I've evar seen walkin." she jokes.
She then becomes quite serious. "Bot mah honor demands I at least fight you fah skirtin tah boney hand of death, might ya step outside and we'll settle this small matter with fists." she says with a coy smile "I'll patch up us both up after ets ovar dah loser buys dah next round." she adds in a friendly manner.
She's challenging you to a duel outside. No weapons or shields, strictly unarmed attacks, no spell casting or misfortune. She will burn up spells for healing after wards. If you accept (which would make you totally awesome) the easiest way to speed it along would simply be to roll multiple say (6-10) unarmed attacks after initiative and roll damage on each that hits. We should both know our AC so we can resolve the fight ourselves the first doing enough non-lethal to stagger or knock unconscious wins the player who would have been knocked unconscious yielding before the attack. Unarmed attacks dealing non-lethal damage can't kill and heal at the rate of 1HP per hour so if this happens it should be mostly just fun.
For the record Kayela's accent largely resembles creole and is more of a Calypso from the Pirates of the Carribian movies over Durkon the Dwarf from the order of the stick comics. Just thought I should make that clear. <_<

Fantastic! I was getting quite worried our cleric who is likely one of our best assets against undead going MIA.
On a side note to Akydid it might be a good idea to pick up the disrupt undead cantrip as your primary offensive spell color spray is useless against all types of undead due to their immunities.
I'm also not sure how much HP you have total or at any given moment, I'd love to know as it would make my job of handing out cure-light wounds as needed much easier.
Since I haven't heard any word on HP here's my roll:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Edit: Since I took the risk and rolled relatively well on HP I'll use my alternate favored class benefit and pick up an extra cantrip known instead of HP/Skill rank. I'll be selecting (Create Water and Virtue).

Kayela looks grimly at the ale before stating "Fair enough", "If ah was tah tell you how I got all the tatoos we'd be in this tavern all week so I'll just show yah dah ones I got dat were unintended" she jokes.
She plops her leg up onto the bar and draws up the hem clothing revealing a scar across her leg up to her knee, "Ah got dis fah being careless while climbing ah steep cliff when I was no more than 13 winters" She then unlatches the wolf skull that adorns her left shoulder and her clothing drops revealing her left shoulder blade and she points proudly to 4 scars that run from the tip of her shoulder diagonally down her back. "I got dis one when undergoing mah rites as a member of mah clan, I did battle wit ah fearsome Cinderwolf in dah Yawning Cave deep in dah Mindspin Mountains".
She then reattaches the skull as she downs the ale Arigoder provided and begins to lower her voice.
For Arigoder (or anyone else who makes a DC 13 perception check to eavesdrop):
"Dah next two ah hard tah speak of." she says under her breath. "Ah got dis one when ah killed mah brother." pointing to the scar across her eye. "If I hadn't stumbled back at dah last moment his spear would'a taken mah skull." she fiddles with her clothing and reveals a scar along her lower abdomen "An ah I got dis in dah same fight when mah uncle thrust my brothers dagger into me." she says pointing at one of her daggers. (The scar looks deep enough for the wound to have rendered her barren.)
She sighs motioning to a barmaid for another drink, "Ah was careless, I was tracking ah corpse thief and in mah brashness attempted tah confront dem mahself. Little did ah know dey wah mah family nor dat they wah under dah control of dah lesser spawn of ah vampire. she thinks to herself staring at her ale."An since ah am afflicted with dah curse dat muddles mah speech and obfuscates others words when ah hear em I couldn't understand dem in battle nor hear their last words as ah cradled em in mah arms as dah light left their eyes" she downs the next ale "Bot ah got mah vengeance dat night on dah wicked abomination." she grins.
"Mah quahs elders where not so understanding for daybreak turned any proof ah had tah ashes and ah lost mah place in mah home and branded ah tshamek (outsider) tah day after tah night I lost mah family" she mutters seething with a hint of anger.

OOC @Akydid and general stuff about taking 10/20.:
Below is my understanding of the rules and like everything is subject to DM fiat:
Taking a 10 is allowed under situations where you're not in any immediate danger or distracted (most often combat). Some DMs house rule some skills out of this commonly (Diplomacy, Stealth, Intimidate, Bluff, Slight of hand, and untrained skills). You cannot normally take a 10 on UMD.
Taking a 20 is allowed when there is no penalty for failure, you have plenty of time, and you're not distracted or in immediate danger.
Common areas where taking a 20 is possible: -Perception when searching. -Escape Artist when trying to escape from bindings. -Disable Device when picking a lock. -Appraise.
Everything else is usually has some sort of consequence for failure. Taking a 20 results in retrying the check 20 times and thus takes 20 times the time. Taking a 10 takes the same amount of time as one check.
It's sketchy if you can take a 10 on knowledge checks and the RAW of the matter is debated last time I checked, but RAI is clearly in favor of not being able to take a 10.
TL;DR: In short you should be able to take a 10 and Kayela's performance roll was to aid anyone making a performance check. So if you're not taking your roll your performance should be a 20 with your modifiers and my aid.

I'm fine with pre-rolling our research checks. Like Akydid there were a few things I was hoping to do at the tavern. I was mostly just waiting for a scene change and a description of the tavern as well as letting the holidays distracting me.
Kayela is primarily interested in gathering information about anyone that is infirm, ill, or injured in town. As a traveling healer she's interested in helping those she can free of charge if she can.
Dice Checks:
Gather information (For info on anyone that's ill, injured, or infirm**); 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Diplomacy Check (To raise the disposition of those at the bar);* 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Performace Check (To aid any of our performers in any performance they make); 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
As Kayela enters the bar she sits down and eyes up the crowd and bar man. After a moment she stands up swiftly and speaks loudly to those loudly to all those present at the tavern. "As yah might all know we ah strangers tah your humble little hamlet. We where drawn here to tragedy tah oversee tah passing of dah beloved professor Lorrimor. We have been in mourning, but where ah come from ah part of tah grieving process is ah celebration of tah the deceased life." She then slams 3 gold pieces onto the counter to punctuate the statement. "I'm partial to celebrating with drink, so everyone dah first few couple of rounds ah on me! If yah dant know dah professor or perhaps dant care for him above all drink tah life!"(See diplomacy check to raise the disposition of those at the bar, 3 gold pieces buys 75 mugs of ale by standard srd prices)
Upon hearing of how Arigoder got his scars Kayela listens intently as she stirs her drink with her dagger. She occasionally makes the off-hand comment about orcs being dishonorable filthy green bags of bile and and filth. After hearing his tale she becomes a bit stoic and sad before she raises a drink expecting Arigoder to do the same "Tah yah mother!" she shares a toast taking a swig with him "Tah yah sister!" she takes another swig "Tah yah father" repeating the action a third time "An tah all dah orcs we slay" and she chugs the last of the ale before patting Arigoder on the back playfully and saying "I'll remember what day did tah yah an keep the thoughts of yah family close tah mah heart the next time my steel draws orc blood"
Kayela then returns to drinking and sharing the info with the rest of the group while occasionally asking stranger if they know anyone that's been injured or been taken by illness lately.

Likewise I'm partial to leveling at half the HP dice (rounded up at odd levels down at even), or having the option to do so or something similar.
It just makes it much more pleasant when the sorcerer/wizard isn't a better party tank than a fighter/barbarian because somebody got unlucky and rolled a few 1's.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
Kayela pauses for a moment as combat ends as she walks over to the stirges felled by akidyka's sorcerery and steps on each one till she hears a satisfyign pop.
While doing so she casts detect magic on the area looking for any strange lingering aura's.
She then turns to the rest of the group, "Well than how bout ah drink!" as she happily saunters towards the laughing demon.'
ooc chatter:
Ale is particularly cheap. Under standard srd/prd prices if we each chipped in 2 gp we can buy 350 mugs of ale. It might be a fun idea to buy drinks for most the tavern goers in excess as if we proclaim the drinks are on us for the night.
It might bump of trust score up on the cheap, which could be useful and at least be jovial.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
I think we skipped over Dydren in round 1, so unless we're just ignoring him he's still got an action during round 1. Akydi performed a move action to position himself for color spray so he's likely not within 5-foot-step reach and Dydren doesn't have any ranged weapons....
Hasmir can always shoot the last one with his bow during round 2, so I'll throw a reroll his way if he wants it. Akydi's CMD should be rather lackluster and stirges are grapple happy monsters so I doubt it'll have trouble maintaining the grapple and hitting Akydi for another CON damage making him even more squishy for the next day or two.
Female Human (Shoanti) Dual-Cursed Oracle (Battle) 2
@Galahad:
My bad on the immediate action forgot that I'm flatfooted :(
Is it CON Drain or CON damage?
The difference being significant as drain actually reduces your con score and damage just adds a -1 to each ability/skill check for each 2 points of damage.
CON drain also isn't fixed by sleeping at the rate of 1 per day and can only be healed by restoration spell (4th lvl spell). Whereas damage can be healed via 1 point per day of resting or lesser restoration spell.
I assume you meant damage as drain is tons of more difficult to fix, but I'd love to be sure on this sort of thing.
I'd like to amend my actions if possible:
Draw Morning-star (Move Action). *Two-handed
*The rest only applies if I can 5-foot step to hit any stirges that're grappling an ally. I'm assuming we were standing close to each other.*
5-foot step. towards a stirge grappling an ally *Preferably Darcy as she can't use a bow while grappled. (Free Action)
Attack Stirge: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 (Standard Action)
Since Kayela's no longer flat-footed if allowed will use misfortune on Darcy's attack with a short bow provided her attack kills the stirge grappling her. Darcy's attack Reroll:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 (Swift Action)
