Anchoring Aura (Su) if it applies :

* At 8th level, a paladin’s aura hampers extra-dimensional travel by evil outsiders. The aura extends 20 feet from the paladin. Evil outsiders attempting to use abilities such as dimension door, plane shift, or teleport to leave or enter the aura must succeed at a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 the paladin’s level + the paladin’s Charisma modifier); failure means the ability does not function, as if the outsider were affected by dimensional anchor. The aura functions only while the paladin is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead.

A friend of mine pointed out to me that I've been doing this character wrong, and I publicly apologize. I was under the impression that sacred weapon and bashing worked together. Sacred weapon would replace the damage die, and bashing would increase the size, hence Kaeldron having 3d6 damage. It turns out that I read this wrong, and it is either/or. Therefore, his shield should only ever do 1d8 damage.

I apologize for my misunderstanding. GM Kevin, would you mind if I switch Kaeldron's +1 Bashing Shield to being a +2 Shield and moving forward I'll just go with the lower damage die?

I'm just glad that against this spellslinger we can at least see him and that we have some ranged capabilities. Otherwise this could go really poorly.

Glitterdust! 10ft radius, so I believe that I can cast it so that it only hits the enemy. A spell which more and more seems necessary for an all martial party.

CMD: 10 (base) + 9 (BaB) + 7 (Str) + 1 (Dex) = 27. So I think that a 30 would grapple me, but on a natural 1 it fails. From rulebook "Rolling a natural 20 while attempting a combat maneuver is always a success (except when attempting to escape from bonds), while rolling a natural 1 is always a failure."

Kaeldron was lucky in that his armor did not allow the creature to get a good enough purchase to grapple him. He responded by pushing it back with his free hand and then stabbing his spear into it with his other.

Caught by surprise, Kaeldron was barely able to manage to defend himself. It was one of the downsides of having a shield and spear connected together. Still, years of training along with divine blessings combined allowed him to at least attempt to mount a counter attack.

With the threat ended, Kaeldron shook his head at the sight of the bodies. "If they could have but turned away from their path, these men could have done great things. Such a waste." Looking around, he continued "I think that to continue exploring this place we need to go south."

For all of these potions, I can't see myself ever using one in combat. Shall we split them up evenly, or just keep them as communal resources for after combat healing should our own run out?

With both of his foes dead, Kaeldron turned to rejoin the main fight, only to find that the doorway was blocked by the melee. It was difficulty stabbing through the doorway into the enemy, but the paladin did what he could to wait for just the right moment.

Kaeldron’s spear and shield were everywhere at once. What should have been a solid blow against him was turned aside and his gauntleted fist went into the enemy’s face instead. Even as he did so his spear cut into the other enemy’s side, drawing blood once more. True to his word, he was holding the flank.
